Need help dealing with nested audio in Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2

Hi, so previously I have been working with nested multicam video and nested audio together (one video track, and one audio track).
However, I am hitting some issues with the nested audio workflow, and am hoping someone could help me iron out my issues.
1. Once I've completed my edit, how do I efficiently flatten my nested edits so I have all of my original audio back? (For mixing purposes)
2. Audio nesting sometimes seems glitchy. When making new nests, sometimes I will only get the topmost audio track in my nest, and I'm not sure what's causing that to happen.
I REALLY need helping getting my workflow together, as it's at a bit of a stand still right now. I think I'm going to switch to unnested audio to avoid issues, but still need to flatten my existing edits to do that as well.

This bug is NOT FULLY FIXED. I'm on a tight deadline so i'm not looking very hard online to see if i'm alone - so please forgive me for just posting here...
I'm using CC7.2.1 it's 1/21... very grateful that match frame FINALLY works on merged clips, but, again, this insert/overwrite bug is only PARTIALLY FIXED.
Insert/overwrite with merged clips on 3-point edit now works, but ONLY when cutting in BOTH merged video+audio... if you're just trying to cut in the audio from a merged clip using a 3-point/4-point edit via hotkey, it's a no-go.
I, for example, needed to re-cut in audio under some video with effects on it. So, I unpatched the video source completely and patched source audio tracks 1-4 to the appropriate sequence tracks. Upon hitting insert or overwrite multiple times, nothing responds. The only way to cut anything in from the source (merged clip) was to patch the source video back into the timeline on an unused video track, then cut ALL the tracks from the source in, I then had to delete the video track re-link the now free audio to the original video. Not a big deal, but annoying enough & waste of precious time on tight deadline.
So, yeah, I have a workaround but is still not appropriate to have a core function not work properly. Especially when I'm working with a very complicated timeline.

Need help dealing with permission bugs in 10.6 during migration of old user

i just erased, formatted and re installed 10.6 on my computer for the 4th time.
I have been trying to migrate my old user account to avoid re installing tons of applications, i successfully did this before but it seems my user account may have some issues, no matter what way i try to copy documents and preferences, after i do for some reason i can not change a single thing in the preferences, it allows me to select anything i want, make my choices but does NOTHING, for example i change the desktop picture, NOTHING, i restart firefox, the same tabs re appear, nothing i last used will appear,
i ran disk utilities both from within the user account and from the dvd re starting and all still fails, i would like to know if there is a way around all these permission issues, i need to use the same old user becuase i have tons of passwords saved for silly graphics sites etc and it would help me save allot of time just migrating all those keychains as well rather then going through a hoop one by one through many to fix them.
I use CCC to clone, migration assistant to migrate, Disk utilities to repair permissions and HDs., if anyone here knows better which way to re install and use old user keychains and prefs again with a fresh set up do advise me

i also wanted to mention that i found a issue with a folder in my libray app support called RAYNER that contains a file called NETSHADE3. i tried a demo by them last year but thought i un installed everything after it expired,
During my recent *carbon copy clone* experience i tried to clone using their *incremental method*, and now notice that nothing i bootable on my clone if the RAYNER NETSHADE folder is removed.

Need help dealing with media

I use aperture to store all of my clips (HD from DSLR and iphone clips) we do a daily video on our site (noahsdad.com) and so every day I have to import into aperture, find my clips, export to desktop, import to fcpx. Not only does this seem like a huge hassle, but I end up duplicating a ton of videos which is not only killing my hard drive space, it just seems like a ton of extra space.
Is there an easier and more effective way to do what I want to do? I want to use aperture to store and manage my video clips so I can search and and organize them, but I want to use fcpx to make my project. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Is there a reason you do not want to use Final Cut Pro X events to store and manage your clips? They basically work like folders and each import from your device lets you either choose the event the clip will be placed in or you can create a new event. They also can be placed on multiple drives as volumes and be accessible from within FCP X at any time. Then they can be scanned quickly right there in the event browser to see if there is content in a clip that you are looking for. Having found a clip or section of the clip you like, you can mark either that whole clip or individual sections of it as a favorite and also assign keywords to find them later with searches. I also like Aperture, but as you stated, it can take a lot of space to duplicate the functions between these applications. Best wishes.

Need help fixing a stuck pixel in Premiere Pro CS6

Editing on a MacPro, OSx.6, Premiere CS6, I have found a stuck pixel (red) on some of my footage. Tried removing with cc wire removal in AE, but that did not seem to want to work. Everytime we applied the wire filter to our comp, it turn the whole comp black. Does anyone know of another work around to fix a stuck pixel or another plug in to use?

I've got the same issue - when CC Wire Removal is applied the entire screen goes black. I tried it on two different systems running at significantly different specs - same result. There is another blog on here someplace with many people reporting the same issue. I'm curious as to why there isnt a fix for this already? I've got a video to deliver by tomorrow for an international construction giant and I can't remove a freaking dead pixel! I can't use the clone stamp as the pixel is right in the left corner of the mouth, so it's (depending on the frame) either just outside the mouth, in the mouth, on the tongue or on the tooth. Very frustrating (also admit that my limited AE ability restricts me to applying the CC wire removal fix).
I'm hoping I can render the footage in a different codec and maybe CC wire removal will cooperate...

i m tight on budget thats y cant afford the audigy series or any new hifi cards.. i need help in activating 5. audio on my sbli've value card though old but i always love it.. theres a feature li've surround and when i activate it my surround mixer shows fi've speakers and sound comes from 4 speakers i wonder how can i connect the 5th speaker.. 2ndly there r two analog outputs on the card which connects front two and rear two speakers theres another spdif output now is that to connect 5th speaker? also plz guide me about the spdif cable which will connect with sbli've value cards and how can i get its output from ? i m really amauter in this stuff plz guide and help me thanks

Muddassar,
The SB Li've Value is only a 4/4. speaker system card and that does not support a 5. speaker as you would not have the available jack for such connection.

Java is no longer included in Mac OS X by default. If you want Java, you will have to install it.
However, note that you should think twice before installing Java for such a trivial need as looking at stock market quotes. There are other ways to get that information that don't involve Java, and using Java in your web browser is a HUGE security risk right now. Java has been vulnerable to attack almost constantly for the last year, and has become a very popular, frequently used method for getting malware installed via "drive-by downloads." You really, truly don't want to be using it. See:

Not sure this is a very useful thing. It would run down the battery. All a thief has to do is remove them SIM and restore the iphone to stop it from being tracked.

Is it possible to specify what audio channels to capture during capture from tape? It seems Premiere wants to mix the lavaliere mic and camera mic into a stereo track all the time, and then I have to modify audio settings and force it to mono in the project. In Final Cut pro 7, I am able to specify which audio tracks to capture, and this simplifies things in editing. I cannot see anywhere to do this in Premiere....

You don't have to do anything special. If possible, start your project with a clip that has the desired target frame rate and audio sample rate, and your project parameters will be set automatically. Other sample rates will be converted under the covers.
For example, if your video is shot at 48khz, you can add music files at 44.1khz with no problem.
If you are recording audio that you want to synch with video (multicam), you will get best results if everything is 48khz, but you can use 44.1 if that is all you have. Once I forgot to reset my Zoom to 48,000 and it still worked.

Failed Audio in Premiere Pro Render

Im new here and i need some help.
This Question has bees probably asked 100 times but i need a direct answer.

So i made a quick movie thats 55 seconds long and i for some reason when i chose the option to render a MPEG or MPEG4, get no audio... the visual is there but theirs no audio in my movie...then i just render in .mov for now.
Can someone help me and figure out why my videos wont render with sound???

OK, we have gotten the "easy things" out of the way, and sorry that it not as simple as choosing the correct Multiplexer setting.
Let's recap a bit:
You have Audio fine in your Timeline. What is your source material, MOV/MP4? What are the Audio specs. for those files?
You are Exporting to MOV/MP4 from the Timeline, through AME, and this is where you do not get Audio.
Is that correct? What player are you using to test your Exported muxed file? Could this be an issue in the player of choice - a setting perhaps? Do other A/V files with the same specs. play fine in it?
Not sure which players are available for the Mac, but VLC Player and MediaPlayer Classic HC are both very good, but could be PC-only. Can you try another player?
Can you start a New Sequence that matches your Export file, Import that output file, and play it in the Timeline?

Assuming you're looking for recommendations rather than experiencing specific problems, I would advise the following:
Buy 2 external hard disks. You don't say what model of MBP you have, but I would suggest buying the fastest type of drive your MBP supports. So, instead of going for a cheap USB2 drive, I would consider FW800 or Thunderbolt if your MBP supports it. It might cost more but will be faster.
One of the drives needs to be only as big as your internal HD. (Technically, it only needs to be as big as the amount of data you want to back up but to be safe, get one that matches your HD size). This HD can be used for a Bootable Clone. I use SuperDuper from Shirt Pocket, and a Freecom 1GB FireWire 800 drive. You can try it out for free, but it's worth buying a licence because once it's licenced you can do 'smart backups' where it only needs to copy files that have changed. The free version will have to do an entire clone each time which takes longer.
The second drive you should use as a Time Machine backup. The bigger this is, the more backups you can keep, so the further back in time you can go.
The reason to have both is that they both do different things.
SuperDuper is great for doing a complete 'emergency' backup every so often (i.e. before you go away, or at the end of each week, whatever). This disk means that if your MBP is lost, stolen or the HD goes pop, you can recover pretty much the whole system immediately, because you can boot from that drive on any Intel Mac that supports your bus type and OS version. I do an SD clone every so often and keep it hidden, in case anything happens to my MBP.
Time Machine backups are NOT bootable. However, in an emergency you can do a clean install of your OS and then get everything back by migrating from your last TM backup. But the best and most common use of TM backups is simply 'turning back the clock', i.e. you deleted something you wished you hadn't, or even saved over a piece of work you didn't mean to, or installed some software that has caused problems. As long as there was a recent TM backup, you can just get the older version of that file, or revert your whole system. I carry my TM drive around with me in my laptop bag and have it sat there attached and backing up the whole time I'm working.
Well worth having both strategies in place.
As an aside, if you keep confidential files (client or personal) on your MBP and carry it around somewhere like London as I do, it's also worth considering using FileVault so if your lappy gets nicked you don't have to worry about them getting at all your info. And if you have a clone at home, in the worst instance, all you really have to worry about is just buying a new laptop and restoring it. Expensive, sure, but at least your data is safe.

Problems with Dinamic Link between Premiere pro CC and After Effects CC

I'm having serious problems with dinamic link between premiere pro and after effects, really serious problems that have 2 big projects in trouble (a documentary and a video clip) and I had to redo all the work pipeline to the consumer.
The documentary for a spanish TV was made on CC 2014 and a video clip was made on CC. Both of them with a lot of after effects composition in the premiere pro timeline. Render freeze, a lot of playback issues, and many more problems... Until I decided to remove these links between premiere and after effects and render out all the after effects compositions one by one and insert as clips in premiere pro. 1 week working away with back and fourth.
I've got a huge workstation:
i7 4990
32Gb ram
GTX780 3gb
256 gb system ssd
2 Tb project storage
*All my hardware and software are update.
I know that a lot of folks are on the same huge problem and I want to ask everyone:
How do you save this?
What is your pipeline?
Are there any solution?
Best practice to use dinamic link in a huge project?

Based on another comment sent to me, here is what did.
In PProCC
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > New After Effects Composition
In AECC
From that composition created from PPro, I imported the project (aep) initially created in AECC from another team member. Saved the file.
Back in PProCC
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition
Magic.

I agree with Harm. The specs. do not match up correctly. Where did those AVI files come from?
I assume that you are working in PAL-land (and not NTSC-land). Is that correct?
What platform are you working on, Mac, or PC?
When you attempt to Import those AVI files, what is the exact error message that you are getting?

Help needed with Avid AAF to Premiere Pro CC (w/wo/AE in the loop)

Folks,
I am taking over a feature film edit to finish in Premiere Pro. I want to use AE's Pro Importer to convert the Avid edit (AAF export) to an AE session and then export to PP CC.
The 1st editor was cutting with Avid Media Composer. All the source footage is Sony AVCHD camera creating .MTS files. The Avid made .MXF proxies using Avid media DNx36.
Here are the reasons for my problems (don't laugh):
1. There are 20 days of footage in 20 folders. Inside each folder are X number of shots, the highest volume has 91.
2. each day's footage starts with shot# "00000.MTS" which means there are 20 files named "00000.MTS" in this project.
3. none of the source .MTS footage has any of the metadata filled out. Using an EDL an manually re-linking every single shot is a ROYAL PAIN, having to hunt for the right shot# 00041.MTS, example.
4. The script supervisor's End of Day reports are riddled with mistakes of which scenes were shot on which days - says scene 8 was Day 13 but no Scene 8 footage in the Day 13 folder.
5. Avid editor NEVER uses AAF export for Video, only audio. Everytime he tries, the AAF files either copy and link to the .MXF proxies in a new Custom folder OR are Offline/Missing on AE Pro Import looking at the AAF folder instead of my AVCHD folder contain all of the original footage.
Can one of you MegaMinds help me help the Avid Editor (MAC-based) in AVID MC
a. take his existing edit and re-link media to the original files
b. export said edit to a NEW AAF with the original source footage files linked to the timeline
c. get Pro Importer (AE) OR Premiere Pro to correctly import the AAF data with the original pathways (folder structure) for re-linking footage on my (PC-based) RAID
-FYI- Premiere Pro CC currently hangs up on import of his current AAF files.
Help me Obi-wan Adobe, you're my only hope!

Having similar issues.
Premiere CC 2014 seems to have fixed AAF import hanging up.
Avid "updated" the info contained in AAF relating to AMA linked material beginning with MC 6.5 and as a result AAF comes in with blank sequence.
Avid says adobe needs to update AAF input.
The workaround I have been using is to copy filename to clipname in MC relink to DNX media export AAF import into premiere and manually relink.
Hoping Adobe will address issue.
