Need help deciphering "wrapper" crashes on wife's computer

Hey all,
My wife's G5 is crashing a lot and seems to frequently reference "wrapper." I'm trying to learn how to decipher these crashes but can someone give me a headstart and point me in the right direction?
These crashes are really causing a lot of problems and my wife is getting a little gun shy about using her computer.
I've done all the usual stuff like repairing permissions, using Disc Tools, etc.
Thanks for ANY tips or help.

Thanks for the tips. Kernal panic sounds...frightful but I'll run through the suggested pages.

I'll track down DirectConnect and see what its problem is. Sorry, total noob to crashreports. What does WRT mean?

  • Need help deciphering app crash reports

At first, I assumed this was an application software issue, but now that 2 apps are crashing immediately upon launching, I am inclined to think it has something to do with my laptop. It started a week or so ago with Graphic Converter (v4.5). More recently, Microsoft Word (v10.1.4) started acting the same way.
What I've tried so far: restarting numerous times, logging in as Guest (to test preference files): same issue. I copied the crash details. Here are the Graphic Converter details. Thanks for looking:

At first, I assumed this was an application software issue,
That's probably correct. Are you sure both apps are compatible with Snow Leopard?
This one is a PPC app, running in Rosetta.

i need help fixing itunes crashes on my old mac

    Thanks for your reply,
I have both the silver discs specific to my iMac and Mac Pro models that you receive with your Mac, and a general copy of Snow Leopard that you buy from the store.
I used the silver disc that is specific for my iMac to install the drivers, and Boot Camp 3.0 on my iMac. But with the Mac Pro, the software is older and only has Boot Camp 2.0, thus I'm wondering if I can simply use the software on the general copy of Snow Leopard I own, or does the silver disc contain specific drivers for my Mac Pro that I need?
I'm under perhaps the wrong impression that the silver discs that you get with your Mac purchase contain drivers for your specific Mac model which you can't get from the general Snow Leopard disc.
    Thanks.

Look for cloud solutions such as DropBox, OneDrive, SugarSync or others. They are all cloud based services that sync documents between computers via the cloud. Of course another solution is simply a flash drive formatted in exFat so that Macs and Windows computers can read it.

  • Need help deciphering a kernel panic report

Last night, right after watching an iTunes movie, my mini had a kernel panic, the first ever. It was very hot to the touch.
This is the model I have: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_mini/specs/mac-mini-core-2-duo-2.4-mid -2010-specs.html. It's standard except for the memory, which is maxed out at 16GB. It's running Snow Leopard and has never given me a moment of grief until last night.
This is the report. Any help locating the source of the panic is appreciated:

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. They are both reasonable. However, I would like some help deciphering the report to learn what actually happened --or as close to that as one can get.
    Thanks again.

  • Need help deciphering error messages!!!

My iTunes library was continually acting up, so I finally decided to start fresh. I restored & updated iTunes, Quicktime, & my iPod. I followed the directions from a question I posted here. I drag and dropped the music back into the "clean" library, and everything was going great.
Now I'm getting the same error messages as before. I was adding music and this message appeared.
    Error Message:
The file "iTunes Library.itl" does not appear to be a valid music library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your music library and renamed this file to "iTunes Library (Damaged).itl".
My library.xml file was missing some music, so I added it back to the library.itl file to see if it would work. It appeared fine afterward. The next day I went in to recreate my playlists, and received the following error.
    Error Message:
The iTunes Library cannot be saved. An unknown error has occurred (-1450).
    Questions:
    1. What is error 1450?
    2. Are my music files (that I drag & drop)contaminated and need to be deleted and reimported?
    3. What are the causes of the 2 error messages above? I copied them to my notepad exactly as they appeared on screen?
    4. When iTunes creates a library (damaged).itl file, it also creates a new music file: song 1.m4a replaces song.m4a - which version do I keep?
The only good news is that my iPod has always worked fine. It has no music on it now, and I don't want to hook it up to a contaminated library.
Need help desperately...I'm beginning to hate iTunes...just want to use my iPod.
Dell Inspiron 6000 Pentium   Windows XP   1.6 GHz, 1G RAM

When iTunes creates a library (damaged).itl file, it also creates a duplicate song file.
song 1.m4a replaces song.m4a - which version can I delete without creating problems?

  • Need help installing Adobe Pro on my new computer

In 2013 I purchased Adobe software for my office computer. The computer died in 2014 and now I need to install Adobe on my laptop.
    Can I get help, please
    Denise Brown

    Hi deebrn77,
Are you running into a specific problem with the installation, or just need guidance on how to get started? If necessary, you can download Acrobat from this page: Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X.
And, if you need your serial number to complete the installation, then this document can help with that: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.
Finally, if you had purchased an Acrobat subscription, then this document provides great instructions for downloading and installing an Acrobat subscription: Acrobat XI Subscription | Download and install
I've tried to cover the bases; but if you still need help, please let us know!
    Best,
    Sara

  • Need help tranferring license from old to new computer.

What is the procedure for transferring an Acrobat X Pro license previously downloaded from the Adobe LWS from one computer to another without having to purchase a new license?
    Appreciate any assistance.

    Hi Mikhail Y.,
To transfer license of Acrobat X from your first computer to second computer you just need to uninstall Acrobat X from your first computer and install it on the second computer with the serial number.
With all other software there is need to deactivate the software from the help menu of the software but with Acrobat X uninstallation will deactivate the software from the machine and you can easily activate the same on second computer.

Been having a ton of issues lately with the MacPro 1,1.  Frequent slow-downs, pinwheels, sluggish video and scrolling, especially in Safari.

Anyway, just had a Kernel Panic and it forced me to restart.  Here's the report.  Can someone help explain what caused the panic?

zalloc is the actual routine that detected the error. It is a memory allocation program which has been tested to death. It is vanishingly unlikely that you have discovered a problem in zalloc.
PluginProcess is what was running when it panic-ed. I expect that has to do with Safari plug-ins. ¿Are all the Plugins you are running now the correct versions to be running in this version of Safari?
You have many add-ons to the Mac OS X kernel:
    com.techsmith.TACC 1.0.2
    com.Cycling74.driver.Soundflower 1.6.6
    com.blackmagic-design.desktopvideo.iokit.driver 9.7.1
    com.blackmagic-design.desktopvideo.iokit.framebufferdriver 9.7.
    com.blackmagic-design.desktopvideo.iokit.decklinkhddriver 1.0.0
again, you should be certain that each is the right version for the Mac OS X you are running. If still no joy, you may need to remove them all and test with no third-party add-ons.
NOT related to your symptoms, you are running all 4GB DIMMs on the B riser, and only one pair of 2GB DIMMs on the other Riser. Optimum performance is achieved with larger modules in the lowest-numbered slots, balanced between the two risers.
That would be a pair of 4GB DIMMs in the first two slots on each riser, a pair of 2GB DIMMs in the second slots on one, and the others empty. If you can fill all slots, you get a slight boost in speed as well.

just wondering if there are any signs that indicate my Powerbook is slowly dying... it's been slowing down noticeably even with only one app running on a fresh restart

I'm betting it's your Cisco hardware and its software driver. The driver is reported as com.cisco.nke.ipsec. I don't know what the actual driver file is called, but I would look in the /System/Library/Extensions/ folder for any drivers with "cisco" in the filename. Select the item(s) then CTRL- or RIGHT-click and select "Move to Trash" from the contextual menu. Do not empty the Trash as you don't want to actually erase the item(s). Shutdown and disconnect and Cisco hardware. If there is a Cisco application involved be sure it will not launch automatically at startup. Reboot the computer. If your kernel panics cease you will need to contact Cisco about upgrades that are compatible. It could also be an incompatibility between the Cisco driver and one of the other third-party drivers that are in the Extensions folder and listed in your report:
    com.Cycling74.driver.Soundflower
    net.telestream.driver.IODVDImage
    com.AmbrosiaSW.AudioSupport
    com.Logitech.driver.HIDDevices
