Need help determing hours needed to complete flash website

Hello everybody. I am fairly new to Flash, and I have chosen to use it for my final project to graduate with a CS degree. I did some basic animation type stuff around 5 years ago in school but nothing major. I want to make a website for a non-profit organization for my project. I know what I want to do, but I need to give my advisor an estimate of how many hours it will need to complete it. I have no idea how to even start to figure this out so I hope someone can help me out.
Here is a general outline of tasks I want on the website:
Message board
Blog
Embedded video
Photo gallery
Archived news
E-commerce store
Guestbook
Counter
Polls
Applications - games, instant messenger type thing (if I have time)
I would really appreciate it if someone can break these tasks down and suggest how long each would take or everything together. Thanks in advance.

This may be one posting that doesn't get any replies, so I figured I'd offer this just in case rather than let it sit unattended for a week or so. If you are only familiar with Flash at a basic level, for all the things you list you are likely going to have to spend the entire semester (or two) dedicated to this, day and night. I am not exaggerating.
I have over 8 years of experience with Flash and recently spent that kind of time, two months solid, creating a web site, implementing things that I have never implemented in Flash before, things such as you list (though not as many), things that require learning more than just Flash to get thru... server-side scripting, database interaction, dynamic content generation, etc. If you have experience with these aspects, then you'll be a step ahead in that regard, but you'll still spend a good amount of time to get them to interact with Flash.
In my case, the design work was primarily based on my own ideas and design approaches, though I did have to do some Googling to get over some humps. You may be able to 'borrow' from other people's designs to help reduce the workload.
You may get lucky and get input from someone who does this type of stuff regularly and can provide you their estimate for each item, but it is not likely to be applicable to you.
I know this isn't what you are looking for, but it is probably a realistic assessment.

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

Best Buy (only local option) has only a VGA / USB from iogear that scroll lock doesn't work on the Mac and low and behold I'm a d.a. and didn't notice VGA, ie: want/need DVI.
I don't game on my Mac or do high-end video editing but don't want to step down the video quality too much.
Appreciate all of the forthcoming advice.

I need help in installing CreateJS for Flash CS6. I had downloaded the Toolkit CreateJS from here: http://www.adobe.com/go/downloadcreatejs and here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/createjs/articles/using-flash-pro-toolkit- createjs.html. When I attempted to install the extension using Adobe Extension Manager, the installation files did not have the required .zxp or .mxp files. It only had a file with a .mxi extension. Please advise. Why installing IIS o_O?
For Installing a developer Machine just install Oracle Developer suite; for testing your forms you use OC4J ("start OC4J instance" in start menu), and you can run your forms in web; no need for a aditional webserver (don't believe there's an OC4J connector for IIS available; and if so I wouldn't use it either ;-))
For Installing a server for "productional" use install Oracle Application Server (available on otn) which comes with an Apache as webserver and all the other needful things for runnung forms on the web.
For configuring both of them just take a look at the documentations on http://otn.oracle.com

If it is Win 7 or later, the Adobe PDF printer for AA 7 will not install and AcroTray will not function. You will have to install a PS driver from Adobe or maybe an HP color PS printer driver. Then edit the driver properties and change the name to Adobe PDF and the port to FILE. You will always have to do an extra step in creating PDFs by opening the file that is created in Distiller to get the PDF.
If you are talking about Win 8, you may not be successful at all. If you got Acrobat and Distiller to install, then there is a chance.

Need help adding a page to an existing website

Hey guys....I'm, as the subject states, a newbie to Dreamweaver. I am needing to add a page to an existing website. Simple enough...or so it seems...anyway, I went to the site, copied the source coding, went back to Dreamweaver, pasted into the code box, and up pops the page I copied. Great! So then I make my changes so that the page states what I want it to say, link it to what I need to hyperlink it to, then try to upload the page back onto the server....and here's where I get lost...I go to the web to check the site, and the page that I copied and made my own is not there. The link didn't work and the page is nowhere to be found. I don't mind whatsoever telling any of the what the site is (not sure if I can do that here), but any help would be very grateful!!! I'm not sure what I am doing wrong obviously. Many, many thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Do you have a page named ashby.php in your site folder?
If you do copy that and make the changes you require. Save it as whisperer.php
Now you need to change the link from ashby.php to whisperer.php

I'm not sure if it will work because the link has a variable (?s=1) after it but as the links all go to different pages the information probably isn't being fetched from a database. In other words all the pages appear to exist as individual pages. I don't know what 's' the variable refers to.

I need help migrating an existing project from Flash Professional CS6 to Flash Builder 4.6.

I have followed tutorials...instructions on the web...all I get are unsolvable errors.
I have a large Air application that compiles fine and works in Flash. However I would like to take advantage of the as3xls api which does not work in Flash Professional (for no reason in particular the internet just tells me it won't work because Flash Professional cannot access some part of the Flex framework).
So I want to make my project work in Flash Builder. However, when I attempt to reference my document class, flash builder gives me an error telling me the package path com.andrewbefus.ModelMapper no longer works. It does this no matter how I select the folder to reference my document class. If I change the path to nothing...Flash Builder is happy with my document class and unhappy with every other class I have made.
Then I decided to make a new Flash Builder ActionScript file and simply replace the ModelMapper.as document class that Flash Builder created with my completed ModelMapper.as. After some messing around with paths and directories, I got Flash Builder to be happy with my program structure but then all hell broke loose on almost every single Class outside the Flash Builder framework. One by one I attempted to tell Flash Builder where to go to get my components, fl.motion classes, and my custom classes but Flash Builder refused to recognise them unless I reference the folder containing the files, and then proceeded to tell me that the project path of every single class needed to be changed. I imagine if I spend the rest of my day mucking around with this something else will come up.
I went looking for a tutorial explaining how to migrate a Flash Professional project over to Flash Builder. The closest thing I could come up with told me to just select my fla. file by going Project<Flash Professional<Create project using Fla file... which worked great except refused to compile my project as a desktop application for no sane reason - giving no option to select my project when I attempted to create a new Run Configuration.
One frustration after another....

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Download this if you haven't...

Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!

Newbie needs help with passing variables or creating flash object based on parameters

I'm an amateur developer of Ms Access databases. In one of my applications I want to visualize the options available when reaching a certain score.
What I'd like to get from this trial period, is a flash animation of a dartboard. Depending on an array of variables that provides the fill color (or reference thereof) the layers of the flash object will be dynamicly created, altered, or switched. The dartboard itself remains "static". I'm hoping to use 9 colors.
I can manipulate the array any way needed. I can provide XML coding to pass the array variables. I'm just too new and untrained to incorporate this in a Edge animation or Dreamweaver.
There is no need for interaction, once the object is created (ie no user feedback).
Can someone point me in the right direction?

I see you're using System.Data.OracleClient (which has been deprecated by MS) rather than Oracle.DataAccess.Client, but this works for me with Oracle's ODP, maybe it will help.

Need help finding 10.2 desk top flash player

only one that i can find currently is trying to install to my web browser
but i need the one that can launch swf files from my desk top

Do you need the standalone player (Projector), to play local swf files?
The archived versions do contain some standalone (sa) players, but the ones I've just opened only contain the debug players.
The best is if you download the latest sa player from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html - it should be fully compatible with older swf files.
Note that the download is the projector, not an installer, so you will have to make the file association manually.
