Need help Embeding Sound In MX

I am not very savy with the CSS, and do most of my current
work in Design Mode. My goal is to make a MP3 file autoplay at the
sites index page. Here is what I am currently trying to do.
Insert->Media->Plugin, then I select the MP3 I am trying to
play. When I click play in Dreamweaver MX, I get a error message
that reads" Unable to find the plugin that handles this media
type". What step am I overlooking?Thanks

what i think your asking is how to put video onto webpage....
1.put video file into your site foler
2.drad and drop to page or insert>media>plugin and the
url of the video
make sure your video is on your server or you will never see
it.

Need help no sound during install

Hi all,
I am having a problem with installing latest Mac OS 10.4.6 onto the iMac. Since I
am visually impaired I need to use VoiceOver to help me installing.
However, when I insert the first DVD into the DVD drive, wait about two minutes just
for sure then I press command F5 to start VoiceOver. The DVD starts working but
there is no sound or speech. I even confirmed in finder that it was the first installation
disk. Any ideas? I have done this thing both on a Mac Mini and a Powerbook.

Hi Chris,
I tested this on my iMac Intel, with my Install DVD. After I saw the first window on the DVD appear I pressed Command plus F5 to activate voice over and nothing happened. There appears to be a glitch.
The first screen allows you to select the primary language for the Install. The first language in the list is English. I pressed Enter on the numeric keypad to select English. The Installer loaded and as the first screen of the installer appeared the voice said, "Voice over activated." I have never used voice over before, but it appeared to function normally after that.

If you have 1 sound file playing on say frame 1, how do you
get frame 2 to play a different sound, without playing frame one's
sound as well? Right now 'frame 2' is playing both sound files. If
I use the commande 'stopAllSounds' the frame 2 sound file will not
play either.
Please help. Thank you.

The sound once started will play for as long as you loop it
or as long as its length
is (if not loop is define). Even sound run independent to
timeline so if you enter
frame 2 it will simply play another sound.
You need to make some on/off switches on frames or actions
that will control the
sound. Entering another frame won't do it and using
stopAllSounds works like purge
and clear player from all its sounds. The only way to get
sound back will be by
reloading the entire movie. One of these actions that not
many of us are using.

Need help with sound scubber

Could someone please help me out. I am so close to having
this sound scrubber work.
Here is what is not working:
--The slider thumb does not move when the music is playing
and it should.
--Also when you slide the slider thumb, the musical score
(frame) should change and it doesn't.
This is a bit different from scrubbers for Mp3 or other SWA
files.

folder and the extra is in demo mode (which is free for all to
try)).
When you try to run the program you need to put a music CD in
your CD drive. The first track should be around 3 minutes. I have
cuepoints in the program which move to the next frame(page) while
the music is playing.

The media player and itunes sound does not work. need help

You either need to kill all sounds when they click the
Next/Back buttons OR you could disable the buttons until the sound
completes.

hi, my laptop just sent to hp service center to maintain few weeks ago.. coz of laptop cannot on...
now i'm facing another problem after laptop has been sent back to me that the audio sound was disappear automatically...
starting is just need to restart the laptop then sound will come back... but this time even getting few times restart... still didn't have sound..
at control panel audio sound.. it's just write that "no audio sound"..

I need help getting sound to come out of my TV when using HDMI. Any solutions?

I'm able to pull up my picture when connecting my HDMI cable to my Macbook pro...however I can't get the sound to come out of my Toshiba TV. When I go under system preferences, then sound and select my Toshiba TV as an option. It says it has no output controls. I fiddled with my sound setting in my TV and stil no luck. Does anyone know any solutions for this problem. Help is greatly appreciated.

Check to make sure that you are up to date on your computer. Another recommendation would be to try a different cable and also reset the NVRAM on your computer.

Need help embedding file on site...

I'm trying to embed a swf file on a site. Here a link to the file on a page that works.
Example
Problem is, I need to place it on a different site (we have two servers) and it's not working once I link to the file on the other server. Below is the code. I've highlighted the part that I changed. Any help?

Sorry, I had every intention on highlighting.
Anyway, I had to take the SWV file off the problematic site and replace it with a FLV version because they wanted the video up. The SWV file lets people select chapters like a DVD. So that's why they prefer that sight. Anyway, I put up a test page with the problematic code.

Need help embedding a mp3 player swf with xml playlist

Im a noob to Flash (started tuesday, haha) and so far everything is coming along just fine, but i need to put music in the swf. I have a button set up that slides a swf mp3 player in from the side but i dont know how to make the playlist work with it.

Using the xml playlist with html is simple enough, but im not sure how to use it with Flash Catalyst. Is there an easy way to do this?
My original plan was to have a text list of the songs with a play button next to each one, then when you click on the play button it would set the state of any other songs to Stopped so you can just pick what song to play and if another song was playing it would stop. Im not sure how to do this either (like i said, i started learning this week), so i just tried embedding someone else's (ugly) mp3 player.
Anyway, if anyone knows a relatively easy way to have a playlist in my swf please let me know. Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, you've imported a SWF into Catalyst using Import Artwork on the File menu. When your app runs, you want to pass that swf a parameter that tells it what URL to read a data file from. The SWF is not one that you've created, rather, you got it from some web site.
This is not something that you can do in Catalyst. However it should be possible to do in Flash Builder. I found an article discussing several ways to do it, at http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showthread.php3?t=175951. One idea is the following code snippet

The <Image> tag is what Catalyst created when you imported the SWF. (btw.the Image and SWFLoader tags are almost identical).

Need help embedding FLV files on a page

I am working in apex 4.2 and am having trouble embedding a VLC player in an apex page. So far, I have been able to embed and play wmv or mpeg videos in apex. I am primarily testing in IE. Will worry about other browsers later (Sofari, Mozilla, etc).
I have downloaded and installed a vlc player. The source code is as follows:

I removed the "iTunes Library" file from Home>>Music>>iTunes, which allowed me to get back into iTunes, but I don't know how to connect to the files without it locking up again in the event that the mount to her share on my iMac becomes unmounted again.

Ben Thank you so much for your reply! It helped me read the code and made me understand it better. I decided to make my own subscription box by making a symbol "Subscription" and inside this i created two more symbols called "Textbox" and "Submittbutton". I tried putting in part of the code from above under the div id, but it kept creating the whole text box behind the symbols in dreamweaver. Does this sound like creating a login for some, "guest" for others not wanting to go through the trouble? How do I do this?
I do not know html, but am willing to learn. I am leary of using free software to create a form because I do not want the information in other people's hands (would like to respect the privacy of individuals). Is there any way to create a database/buttons and insert into the snippet? I'm sure it's not that easy, but there must be an easier way using iWeb. Index this information, now I know I'm asking for too much!
-Stats counter to get an idea on traffic.
-Also, tips on how to increase traffic, searchability and so forth.
-A Blog in which guests may submit their own information if desired.

Hello all, thanks for your help so far.
I've gone with a Wufoo form and have one of them sent to email. The other, on the other hand, I would like to be posted. I've looked at the integration sites they are compatible with (all which charge $). Is there any way to post the results via rss that is not one of there guys? I just would like, instead of an email, post it to site..Is this so complicated? OK, yes I know. I did notice that one of the partners puts the information into a forum, which seems like a pretty cool idea, too.
The baseline is: I would like visitors to be able to write their own information onto the site. However it gets there. Blogs, comments, forums.
And again, I do not use MobileMe. If Apple were to offer it to us as a donation (non-profit then we'd be happy to let everyone know that. Until then, we have to be as free as can be.
