Need help exporting large file to bitmap format

I have a large file that I need to export to a bitmap format and I am experiencing unknown "IMer" errors, memory and file size limitations.
The file contains only one artboard of size around 8000 pixels by 6000 pixels. I can successfully export as a png at 72dpi giving me a 100% image of my AI file. However I need to export an image at 200% of the AI file. If I export as a png at 144dpi to achieve this I get the following error(s)
"The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (IMer)" or "Could not complete this operation. The rasterised image exceeded the maximum bounds for savung to the png format"
I have tried exporting as tiff, bmp and jpeg but all give "not enough memory"  or "dimensions out of range" errors.
Does anyone know the limitations with AI for saving large files to bitmap format?
Does anyone have a workaround I could try?

You could try printing to Adobe Postscript files.
This will actually save a .ps file and you can scale it to 200% when doing so. You'll need to "print" for every image change.
Then open a Photoshop document at your final size (16000x12000 pixels) and place or drag the .ps files into the Photoshop document.
I just tested this and it seems to work fine here. But, of course, I don't have your art, so complexity of objects might factor in and I'm not seeing that here.
And you are aware that Photoshop won't allow you to save a png at those dimension either, right? The image is too large for PNG. Perhaps you could explain why you specifically need a png that large???

  • Need help exporting .mov files for editing in PE3

    hi,
i'm trying to export HD .mov files from an Aiptek GO-HD camcorder that seems to record in QT format with some funky codecs. I need to export it into a format that i can edit on a PC using Premier Elements 3.0. The few tests i've run have shown a huge increase in size when exporting from .mov to .avi (100m to 30 GB).
Does anyone have any suggestions or experience doing this?

You just need to open the .mov file with Elements.
You don't need to convert it using QuickTime Pro
    first.
Premiere may "convert" it to some other format to
allow editing (I don't know) and that would only take
    some time at import.
HD files are anywhere from 10 to 60 MB's per second
(some even higher) so a DV version will drastically
    increase in file size.
What, besides editing, is the goal of your work?
that doesn't work with this camcorder. apparently the encoding is called QT, but it really isn't. i have to export into something else in order to edit.
the goal of my work is to convert choppy family video into something clean that i can share with friends and family via CD / DVD (not streaming on net).

  • Need help exporting ID file with TOC to EPUB.

I've been troubleshooting a file created in ID CS5.5 and then moved to CC. When I export to EPUB the TOC ends up at the end of the file rather than at the point where I originally inserted the TOC. The vendor I'm sending the EPUB to won't accept a file with the TOC out of place. I tried exporting to an HTML editor and moving the TOC there. (I'm no whiz at HTML though.) Now I see no way to import the file back into ID to export it as EPUB ( and doubt that's the best way to deal with this anyway). I'd deeply appreciate any suggestions!

First of all, a TOC is not only "The Toc". You need to distinguish between the dynamic Reader TOC and a optional TOC e.g. on page 3. While the first is generally required, the second is optional in most cases.
You must also distinguish whether the export is EPUB 2 or EPUB 3.
    1. Assume you mean the dynamic TOC > InDesign will create the TOC on the right place, if you choose the TOC-Style during the export.
    2. Assume you mean the TOC on page 3 > Here the content- or article-order is important! If you have a threaded story from page 2-100 and your TOC as a single frame on page 3 > InDesign will first export the content on page 2 AND the content of all threaded frames and at least your TOC on page 3.
    3. Assume further your exported file is correct in most cases, you can change the order of your TOC in the EPUB directly in the content.opf file in the spine-area
To give you more help, I must have a look at your file.

I need to export Quicktime files using the PhotoJPEG, MJPEG-A, or DV codec.  Is this possible in Final Cut Pro X?  In the options under export I don't see any of these available.  I'm a newbie to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm importing .MOV files from my Canon 5Dmk2 at 1080p.  So should I just export using a different codec and then use Compressor or MPEG Streamclip to convert to an MJPEG-A or PhotoJPEG codec?

  • I need help exporting Apple Mail messages to Outlook for MAC 2011

    Good morning,
I need help exporting Apple Mail messages to Outlook for MAC 2011. Please....

It is possible to do this without external tools, but it is a tremendous faff. See
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/import-ema il-from-mail-to-outlook-2011/5e858173-e1f4-4adc-99d7-253cc467169d?page=2 for details.
The easiest way, however, is to use Mail Exporter Pro https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mail-exporter-pro/id675131616?mt=12 which will convert the email for you from one format to the other, and comes with an excellent manual.
A third possibility is to connect Apple Mail to an email account via IMAP (this doesn’t have to be your usual account, you can just create a Gmail account for the purpose) . Copy all the messages into it and they will be uploaded. Then connect Outlook 2011 to the same account, via IMAP again, and let the messages download, then copy them to wherever you want to keep them and disconnect from that account. This is slow but preserves the attributes of your email (e.g. read/unead) better than any other method.

Aperture is exporting large file size e.g. original image is 18.2MB and the exported version (TFF 16 Bit) is 47.9MB, any ideas please

Raws, even if not compressed, Sould be smaller than a 24-bit Tiff, since they have only one bitplane. My T3i shoots 14 bit 18MP raws and has a raw file size of 24.5 MB*. An uncompressed Tiff should have a size of 18 MP x 3 bytes per pixel or 54 MB.
*There must be some lossless compression going on since 18 MP times 1.75 bytes per pixel is 31.5MB for uncompressed raw.

  • Help needed on Transforming input File to EDI Format

I have an input flat file in one location. Using BizTalk, i need to pick that file from that Recieve location, transform it to EDI format and send it to Destination location.
Now, when I place input file in the "Recieve location", it is being processed and it is erased from recieve location. But I am not able to see the output in the Destination location.
And when i query it in BizTalk Administration console, the state is "Completed" without any errors.
Any guidance/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I have just collated everything and have put it in my words below..Please
let me know your valuable inputs as I am struck in this point from more than a week.
I need to fetch an input flat file (.txt format) from the "Receive location" and I am supposed to transform that to an EDI message X12 format and send it to Destination folder.
I have set up the receive port and send port configurations in the Admin Console, have created the Trading Partners, agreement and other settings.
The problem I am facing : Now, when I place input file in the "Receive location", it is being processed and I am able to pick up the file from the input folder
but I am not able to figure out why the file is not being processed and sent to the destination folder.. (If I query for All In Progress instances, suspended instances or Running instances : I am not getting any results and the below grid is always empty).
And when i query it in Biz-talk Administration console for Tracked instances, the Receive pipeline component's state is "Completed" without any errors.
And I am not using any Orchestration in between..
    Thank you all in advance....

  • Need help recovering .dmg files from an accidentally reformatted external hard drive

    Help?
I went to make a copy of an important drive and accidentally re-formatted it (re-formatted mac journaled, originally mac journaled).  The drive contained a bunch of important disk image files which I need to retrieve whole. I'm fairly confident that the files are still there and only the  table information got overwritten, as the re-format took about 30 seconds.  None of the  recovery software I've seen however, can retrieve .dmg files, or such large files (these are up to 32 gb each in size).
Any suggestions on how I can retrieve these disk image files?

  • Need help exporting Quicktime on FCE 3.5.1

I edit HDV on FCE 3.5.1 and every time i export Quicktime, it comes out looking squeezed and not widescreen, and only saves as Quicktime movie and not FCE movie file like it used to when i first got it. and also how can i export for ipod in widescreen format as well because it it doesn't do that any more, has this got to do with my last update? because i can't seem to import LiveType to FCE anymore it keeps giving me an error report, so i'm going crazy trying to figure this out can someone please help.

What format are you working in exactly? 1080i HDV is squeezed. You can change the display in QuickTime to 1920. You may need the QuickTime Pro player for that.
"only saves as Quicktime movie and not FCE movie file like it used to when i first got it"
Don't know when you first got it but in early versions of FCE the export function was called Final Cut Movie. It's now called QuickTime Movie. Either function does the same thing.
iPod compression was changed in QuickTime. You'll have to export for either iPhone or iPod and change the output size to a widescreen format.
You'll probably need to completely uninstall and reinstall LiveType. Not the LT media content, just the application and preferences and receipts.

  • Need to get large file sizes down to downloadable sizes-how?

I am using Compressor 4 and have several professional videos I produced with Final Cut Studio in QuickTime/.MOV format using ProRes 442. They are all 720p and of course, all have large file sizes. I needed to convert them so they are compatible with iTunes as well as Apple devices (AppleTV, iPad/iPod/iPhone, etc). They also need to be downloadable in a reasonable time and I of course want to maintain a quality image. Several of the videos are about an hour long, some a little more.
I an unable to get most of these files to be small enough for practical download and still maintain an acceptable quality. For example:
I have one video (QuickTime rendered from FCPS) that runs 54 minutes. 1280x720, ProRess 422, Linear PCM with a Bit rate of 72.662. The best I seem to be able to get out of compressor is to use the setting options for "HD for Apple Devices (5 Mbs)" which gives me a file that's just over 2Gb. Not bad, and the quality is still very good, but the file size is just too big for people to download. I get reports of people getting estimates of 77 hours to download this one file.
I did try using the setting under Video Sharing Services / Large 540p Video Sharing just to see what it would give me, but it really wasn't that much smaller and the quality was noticeably degraded.
I'm confused as to what to do about this. I have downloaded things from iTunes before that are good quality, about an hour and their file sizes are simply bnot this big.
Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you. Grateful for anything you can offer.
    MC

If you're not concerned with precise average bitrate, use h.264 codec, set bitrate to "automatic" and use the quality slider. Be sure to have "keyframes" on "automatic"; every 24 frames or so makes h.264 quite inefficient and is only useful for live-streaming, where you want people to be able to resynchronise as quickly as possible. Having multi-pass enabled might help, but I'm not sure what it does when using constant-quality encoding.
Do a test-encoding of a representative clip of maybe about rwo minutes or so, play with the quality slider and see how far down you can go and still be satisfied with the quality. Using "automatic" bitrate uses as many bits to encode each frame as is necessary to get the required quality, and file sizes will vary depending on the type of material. Complex textures and high motion will use more bits, still frames and slow pans will use very little.
A light chroma-channel denoising may help improve perceived quality, as may very light sharpening in case you scaled down the material.
If you're still not happy with the bitrate vs. quality tradeoff, try reducing the resolution, but generally you should get 720p down to around 2.5 to 3.0 Mbps with adequate quality.
On the other hand, If someone needs 77 hours to download 2 GB, they have another problem anyway. That sounds like a 56k modem connection. What's he doing trying to download HD content anyway?

  • Exporting large file in QT

I am trying to export a 55 min. sequence in Pro Res 422 to a QT self contained file in the same format and I keep
getting the "error-out of memory" pop up.
I tried to render out the sequence first, but I get the same message.
This is strange as I have done this operation before without problems on a different project.
Not sure what to try next. Any suggestions would be appreciated as always.
    thanks
    MP

Thanks for the responses. I do have a good number of stills, but they are in RGB. And 55 min. of ProRes IS a large file, but it all is going into an empty 1TB external drive, so there is plenty of space there.
Now, this is a 55 min. doc that is subtitled. So, I'm thinking that the subtitling may make it render heavy.
I suspect that the problem is in the amount of rendering because I get the same message when I try to render the sequence before exporting it out onto a QT file.
So, this is where I go dark because I'm not really a computer techie. How is the rendering achieved? I thought that the system used HD space when it ran out of RAM.
My sequence is made up of 3 different segments from 3 different original sequence files. Would it help if I bring in all 3 sequences as nested files?
