Need Help filling in fields

I do not know anything about acrobat and here is my problem.  I have some PDF forms I need to fill in, and I am unable to fill them out with adobe reader, so downloaded adobe acrobat 9.  How do I open my forms and am able to fill in the boxes?  I attached the forms so you can see what I am looking at.  Thanks!

The original poster attached a form. In that form there are 3 pages of forms but only 2 of those pages have fillable form fields and one form has none. It appears that the  creator of the Texas National Guard attached a copy of a U.S. government form that had form fields but did not add filelds  to the form he/she was creating.
So the comments about which pages have form field may not apply to your form.
All the responders are trying to answer the original post. You are now adding a new problem. It is best to start a new post so all the responses are dealing with your specific problem.
Since your form is till qued, I found a link to the form and there are no form interactive fields on the document. It is just like a printed form picked up from a counter and have to fillin with a pen.
Unless you have a version of Acrobat that create form fields or use the typewriter tool, you are out of luck.

  • Need help in identifying fields of sd report creation

    Hi Experts,
    I need to create report in sd from manual report .The fileds in report are taken from Quickbooks.so inorder to create report in sap I need to identify fields  in sap first.we dont had functional guy so i need help in identifying fields in sap for below mentioned report.
    Report: invoice distribution report-service billing for all states.
    Fields:customer number,customer name,city state,SAP Document number,Invoice date,period(month,year)invoice number,invoice type,currency,invoice amount in usd.
    Please help me in suggesting tcodes or table names from where i can fetch these fields.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Regards,
    narasimha.

    Hi Experts,
    Finally with all above suggestions i have chosen tables vbrk(billing document header data),kna1(customer header),vbrp.
    1.I created view to find the output of report with conditions as follows:
    tables:vbrk,kna1,vbrp
    vbrk-vbeln(invoice number)
    vbrk-fkart(invoice type)
    vbrk-fkdat(invoice date)
    vbrk-waerk(currency)
    vbrk-netwr(netvalue)
    vbrk-kunag(customer number)
    kna1-name1(customer name)
    kna1-ort01(customer city)
    kna1-regio(customer state)
    join condition:
    kna1-mandt=vbrk-mandt
    kna1-kunnr=vbrk-kunag.
    when i execute the report i am getting same value for lot of times.
    i am confused how to include sales document number.I hope sales document number and invoice are different.
    2.i have also added vbrp-aubel and join condition as
    vbrk-mandt = vbrp-mandt
    vbrk-vbeln = vbrp-vbeln.
    but when i execute the report i am getting lot of duplicated with same value and unknown invoice numbers.
    please let me know where i went wrong.
    is  there any standard adhoc report so that i can manipulate it with above requirement.
    vf05n is somewhat useful .is it possible to add  customer details in this??
    Thanks&Regards,
    narasimha.

  • Need help filling this object please!!!

    I need to fill shape 1 with a solid color. Shape 2 is what the object looks like when selected. Shape 3 is what happens when I try to fill it with color. I need it to stay within the boundaries shown on shape 1. Please help, I'm relatively new to Illustrator and cannot seem to find out what it is that is happening. I'm working in Illustrator CC.

    jbizzle,
    However I needed to redraw the object, and instead of lines I had to use rounded rectangles to create it.
    Can you reuse the outer shape that looks like part of an ellipse?
    If you can, you can start by recreating the top one as follows (Smart Guides are your friends):
    1) Select and copy the upper/outer elliptic shape to the front (Ctrl+C+F), then lock the original full shape;
    2) With the Line Segment Tool ClickDrag between the end Anchor Points of 1) (Smart Guides say anchor when you are there), then drag over the H value in the Transform palette and Ctrl+C to copy it;
    3) Click with the Ellipse Tool on the Artboard and insert the value divided by 2 for W and H, then cut it at the top and bottom Anchor Point, then delete the right half;
    4) Move the half circle on top of the lower left half circle shape as closely as possible, then select both the half circle and the outer ellipse, click the outer ellipse again and in the Align palette click Vertical Align Bottom;
    4) Create a copy of the half circle and move it up by its height, then ShiftDrag it to fit the upper right half circle shape as closely as possible;
    Now you should have the curved parts in place, and you only need the straight parts;
    5) With the Direct Selection Tool Click each pair of Anchor Points to be connected by straight segments and Ctrl+J to join them;
    Now you should have one clean path to fill. After that, you can rotate and move a copy.

  • Need help filling out pdf forms on iPad

    Adobe Reader (11.0.1) on my iPad2 (iOS 6.1.3) is not letting me fill out a form (just a bunch of text fields) that was created with Acrobat 8 Pro/LiveCycle. The form can be filled out fine with Reader 11.x on my WinXP desktop though. Any ideas?

    No, you'll be just the same.
    You need to not use LiveCycle Designer, but make the form in Adobe Acrobat. Everything you know about making forms in LiveCycle Designer will not help you at all.
    These are a different kind of form, made differently, and with different features (e.g. they are always static in layout).
    Also, you start with an existing PDF (not a form) for all the background and fixed text, then just add fields.
    There are other things to do like avoid JavaScript. Start with very simple forms and test features, there doesn't seem to be a comprehensive list.

  • Need help filling out forms in Adobe Reader 10.

    Just upgraded to Adobbe Reader 10. How can I fill out forms?  There is no hand tool. I checked the security of the document. It states that filling out forms is allowed.  Please help. There is no way that the sender of the document expected it to be filled out by hand.  Thanks!!!

    shegolf wrote:

    That only means that IF it had filable fields, you would be alowed to fill them in. It does not mean that those fields exist. If it's fillable, you would get a notification at the top of the PDF.

  • Need help with a field to increment points

    There is a business need to add points for some of our accounts. Example is that if an account is a training account, we need to add 5 points. If the same account has a special program tied to it, it gets another 3 points, so on and so forth..
    I need to know what kind of a field I can set up for this to capture the points. It seems the field will need to be a calculated field. However, how can I store the matrix?
    Then, we need to run a report to show points by account.
    I'm really in need of help here .. not sure how to address this business need.
    Thanks,
    Anita

    Hi !
    If you only need a report showing your accounts ordered by points, you'll have to build your report and use the CASE WHEN ... THEN ... ELSE ... END function. If you have for example 3 checkboxes when :
    the 1st brings 3 points
    the 2nd brings 7 points
    the 3rd brings 12 points
    You'll have in your report something like :
    Column 1 : Account Name
    Column 2 : Checkbox1 (CASE WHEN checkbox1 = 'Y' THEN 3 ELSE 0 END)
    Column 3 : Checkbox2 (CASE WHEN checkbox2 = 'Y' THEN 7 ELSE 0 END)
    Column 4 : Checkbox3 (CASE WHEN checkbox3 = 'Y' THEN 12 ELSE 0 END)
    Column 5 : Total (Column 2 + Column 3 + Column 4)
    You can easily do the same with picklist values :
    CASE WHEN pick1 = 'val1' THEN 3
    WHEN pick1 ='val2' THEN 8
    ELSE 0 END
    And if you need to display a score on the account detail page, I'll suggest to create a web applet displaying a report calculating the score the same way than above, but with the AccountId as parameter.
    Hope this will help, feel free to ask more !

  • Need help with string field formula

    Post Author: dshallah
    CA Forum: Formula
    What I am trying to accomplish:
    The report has item numbers and each item number has the
    potential to be associated with up to three u2018binsu2019. So the fields are u2018item
    numberu2019, u2018bin1, u2018bin2u2019 and u2018bin3u2019.
    I tried to write a u2018if thenu2019 statement that would only show
    records that had a value of less than 1 in each u2018binu2019 field. When I try to
    write the statement I get a message that says u2018A string is required hereu2019 and
    it highlights the number 1 in my statement. I have a feeling itu2019s because the u2018binu2019
    fields are string fields and not number fieldsu2026? So I am not sure the proper
    procedure to correct this. Thus help is needed and appreciated.
    Here is what I wrote:
    if {IC_LOC_HIST.BIN_NAME_1} < 1 then
    {IC_LOC_HIST.BIN_NAME_1}
    What is correct way to write a statement that will show me
    the zero values in each column of bin fields?
    Thanks!

    CA Forum: Formula
    You must have a non-numeric value in there somewhere - up in the top left of the formula editor window, it'll show you the variables you've passed to the formula, which should help track down what's going on.
    You could try and check that the value is a number first by using something like:
    if isnull({IC_LOC_HIST.BIN_NAME_1}) = false and isnumeric({IC_LOC_HIST.BIN_NAME_1}) = false and then "Error - Should be a Number!"
    else
    if isnumeric({IC_LOC_HIST.BIN_NAME_1}) = true and tonumber({IC_LOC_HIST.BIN_NAME_1})<1 then {IC_LOC_HIST.BIN_NAME_1})

  • Need help with disabling fields or hiding rows based on previous field

    Hi,
    I have a report in a region.
    The report has five columns:
    Animal type_ Health Issues* Angel Grant Requested?* Granted?* Grant Response Date*
    Dog Fleas Yes Yes 02/04/2009
    Cat Fleas No
    The first time the screen is displayed only the Animal type_ Health Issues* Angel Grant Requested?* columns will appear.
    The user will make a selection for 'Angel Grant Requested' from the LOV ('YES', 'NO') and then click on the 'Submit' button.
    When the screen returns 'Angel Grant Requested?' will be grayed out so the user cannot change the selection. The user will make a selection for 'Granted?' using LOV ('YES, 'NO') and for 'Grant Response Date' using the calendar.
    {color:#ff0000}{color:#0000ff}Here is what I want to do...
    If the user selects 'NO' for 'Angel Grant Requested?' then I would like to do one of the following (which ever one is easiest to do) when the screen returns:
    1. Disable (gray out) the 'Granted?' and 'Grant Response Date' fields on the screen for the rows that have 'NO' for 'Angel Grant Requested?'
    so that the user cannot make any selection, AND update the HEALTH_ISSUES table to
    set grant_granted = 'N/A'
    grant_response_date = sysdate
    WHERE animal_issue_type_id = AI_ID;
    2. Do not display the rows that have 'NO' for 'Angel Grant Requested?'
    {color}
    Can you please provide code samples to do this?
    {color:#ff0000}*I tried to use javascript to gray out the columns, the problem I have is with the hidden f02 column (Angel Grant Requested) that I created on the report so that javascript could read the value. columns are being disabled as desired but the database table is not updating properly...*
    {color:#ff0000}*For the rows where the user selected 'YES' for 'Angel Grant Requested?' we need to update the table with the 'Granted?' and 'Grant Response Date' values. These values are somehow being put on the row where the user selected 'NO' for 'Angel Grant Requested?'.*

    END LOOP;
    end if;
    END;

    It's actually three reports that get run during different stages of the screen.
    When the user first enters the screen the data is populated from the REQUESTED REPORT sql:
    SELECT hit.animal_issue_type_id, at.animal_type_desc, it.issue_type_desc, hit.grant_requested
    FROM health_issue_types hit, animal_types at,issue_types it
    WHERE hit.animal_type_id = at.animal_type_id
    AND hit.issue_type_id = it.issue_type_id
    AND hit.file_no = :P6_FILE_NO;
    The user will make a selection from the LOV select list (Yes, No) for the grant_requested field and then click on the Submit button.
    {color:#ff0000}*If the user selects 'NO' for this field then I want to disable the grant_granted and grant_response_date fields when the screen is populated from the ISSUES REPORT sql. If this cannot be easily done then I would like to hide the entire row when 'NO' has been selected for the grant_requested field.*{color}
    When the screen returns the data is populated from the ISSUES REPORT sql:
    ISSUES REPORT
    SELECT hit.animal_issue_type_id, at.animal_type_desc, it.issue_type_desc, hit.grant_requested,
    hit.grant_granted, hit.grant_response_date
    FROM health_issue_types hit, animal_types at,issue_types it
    WHERE hit.animal_type_id = at.animal_type_id
    AND hit.issue_type_id = it.issue_type_id
    AND hit.file_no = :P6_FILE_NO;
    At this point the grant_requested field will no longer be available for user modification. The user will make a selection from the LOV select list (Yes, No) for the grant_granted, and the grant_response_date fields and then click on the Submit button again.
    When the screen returns the data is populated from the ANIMAL DISPLAY ONLY REPORT sql:
    ANIMAL DISPLAY ONLY REPORT
    SELECT hit.animal_issue_type_id, at.animal_type_desc, it.issue_type_desc, hit.grant_requested,
    hit.grant_granted, hit.grant_response_date
    FROM health_issue_types hit, animal_types at, issue_types it
    WHERE hit.animal_type_id = at.animal_type_id
    AND hit.issue_type_id = it.issue_type_id
    AND hit.file_no = :P6_FILE_NO;
    At this point the grant_requested, grant_granted, and grant_response_date fields will no longer be available for user modification.

  • Need help with parameter fields and report selection.

    Hi all:
    I hope some one can help me with the problem I am having with my parameter field and record selection.
    First, can anyone explain to me why my parameter field CustStart, which is dynamic and is based on the field Customer in the table CustMaster.  There are over 1800 records in the CustMaster table but the drop down list only shows maybe about half of them and there is no way to scroll down to the last customer record.  What am I doing wrong?
    Second, is there any way to base a parameter field on a formula field on my report?  On my report I have created a field Cust that is the customer name and number joined together in one field.  I would very much llike to use this formula in my record selection and in my parameter field.  Can it be done?
    All help is greatly appreciated
    Thanks,
    FatMan

    Hi,
    You can use the following for changin increasing the LOV.
    Crystal Reports XI BusinessObjects Enterprise XI
    For performance reasons, in Crystal Reports XI Release 1 and Release 2 the maximum number of values that are returned for a list of values is set to 1000. If you have a cascading List of Values (for example Country > Region > City), the lowest level (in this case City) will only display a maximum of 1000 values. This means that the higher-level prompts may display far fewer values than you expect. The list of values provides the data for the dynamic parameter list.
    How can you modify the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list?
    Resolution
    To increase the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list, you must add a registry key.
    CAUTION     The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
    It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
    Crystal Reports XI Release 1
    1.     Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.
    NOTE     Alternatively, you can create the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV and that key will override the settings of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV key.
    2.     Add a string value "MaxRowsetRecords" and set the value to the maximum number of values that you desire for your report. For example, a value of 2000 will return up to 2000 values in the lowest level of a cascading parameter. NOTE: The value 0 (Unlimited) will not work with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI, you must specify another value.
    NOTE     The higher the number of values is, the longer it will take the Enter Values dialog box to populate with values.
    3.      After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.
    Crystal Reports XI Release 2
    1.     Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.
    NOTE     Alternatively, you can create the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV and that key will override the settings of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV key.
    2.     Add a string value "MaxRowsetRecords" and set the value to the maximum number of values that you desire for your report. For example, a value of 2000 will return up to 2000 values in the lowest level of a cascading parameter.
    NOTE     The value 0 (Unlimited) will not work with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI, you must specify another value.
    3.     After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Need help formatting text field default value

    Hello,
    I've received a customer request to put default text into the Value section of a text field. They're requesting that the default text include line breaks, bullets, etc. I added a Text Field object and added the default text to the Object tab > Value tab Default field but can't figure out how to add line breaks, etc.
    Thanks in advance,
    Saskia

    Hi,
    this is possible but not doable with the UI of Designer.
    The workaround is as follows:
    1. Create a text, enter your default text with all the formattings you need (text color, bold text, line breaks etc.)
    2. Create a text field and enter any word as default value. Let's say "Default".
    3. Select the text and the switch to the XML Source view.
    There you will find all the formatted text between the <value> tags such as:
    <value>
         <exData contentType="text/html">
              <body xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:xfa="http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/"><p style="letter-spacing:0in">This is<span style="xfa-spacerun:yes"> </span></p><p style="color:#ff0000;letter-spacing:0in">default Text</p><p style="letter-spacing:0in"><span style="xfa-spacerun:yes"> </span>• with<span style="xfa-spacerun:yes"> </span><span style="font-weight:bold">RichText</span> formatting.</p></body>
         </exData>
    </value>
    4. Select the whole code between the <value> tags and copy it to the clipboard (ctrl + c).
    5. Go to the Design View, select the text field, go back to the XML Source view.
    6. There you'll also find the value <tags> and your default value you entered before.
    <value>
         <text>Default</text>
    </value>
    7. Select this code section and paste the value copied before to the clipboard by pressing ctrl + v.
    8. That's it. When you now go back to the Design View your text field shows a formatted RichText as defaul text.

  • Need help regarding text field

    Hi ,
    I have a text field in my form which will contains a numeric value.Based on this value i have to show those many text fields to enter the name.
    I have tried this code by keeping the texfield in a sub form and try to display subform  using instance manager .see the below script.
    Textfield.NewState.presence="visible";
    var oSubform = xfa.resolveNode("form1.Page1.Textfield");
    oSubform.instanceManager.setInstances(3);
    form1.Page1.Textfield.instanceManager.addInstance();
    but this code is not working.
    Please help me!!
    Thanks in advance
    bharathi.

    you can't use the instanceManager for a TextField.. your oSubform should represents a Subform not a TextField
    you can use instanceManager only for containers such as rows and subforms
