have not been able to locate the model #s of cameras listed as compatible with final cut studio found on this website,
when contacting the vendors ie:sony have been told that none of the sony products are compatible,
i just want a camera that will work with my new mac
any suggestions?

I agree with X, we need to know what budget, what is the proposed purpose - home video, serious amateur, indie movie, aiming to start in business etc etc.

Taking a wild guess, I'd say simplest workflow to get reasonable results on a low budget for non commercial hobbyist stuff - get a minidv standard def camera such as the inexpensive Sony HC-DCR96 (yes it will work with iMovie/Final cut) or the more advanced Panasonic GS500, but give more detail for a more tailored reply.

I'm wanting a digital camera/camcorder that I can use the camcorder portion and when I play it back on my computer, I want to be able to pull still shots from the footage. Is this a matter of just having the right software or is there a make/model of electronics I should be looking for?

That's a software thing. I BELIEVE some Canon DSLRs have an additional feature of taking high-res stills while recording HD video when you press the shutter button.
However, there's no way to retroactively pull high-res photos from previously recorded footage, so your stills will be limited to a shade under 2 megapixels (1920x1080) for a 1080p camcorder.

Can you provide us with your computer model number? Take a look in Device Manager to see if there is an Imaging Devices group that includes the webcam. If not, is there an Unknown Device listed? NEED HELP! -installing Camera raw presets from USB Stick.
I am attempting to install the Camera Raw Presets.
It says to put them into User Name/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings...
When I get to CameraRaw the ONLY folders in there are CameraProfiles & Lens Profiles.
I have searched everywhere looking for a CameraRaw-Settings folder and cannot find one.
I have latest version of CameraRaw installed and still no settings folder.
I even attempted to find it by looking in camera raw where it has saved the custom settings I made as presets and it shows that they are saved but will not show me where.
I am using CS5 specifically Photoshop v12.0.4 and Bridge. I have Lightroom 4. I have iMac OS 10.7.3
Do I need to reinstall Camera Raw and how do you do that?
Will I then lose my presets that I made in CameraRaw?

Umm. If you wiped the hard drive, then all old libraries are gone unless you have them on backup.

I need help finding the error(s) in my code. I am writing a program to convert decimal to binary. It is not an application. It is more of a blue print for an object.

I've tried putting the ; in there but it doesn't help and only throws another error.

Did you read the error message?

name1.getDecimal() What is missing? Can you see where on the line of code it has identified that the missing thing is?
