Need help fixing a theming issue in gnome
The Circumstances :
____I was trying to install some new Xursor themes, so installed Gcursor to help. I ended up opening the /root/.icons folder and uncompressing the content folders into there. This actually worked, and gave me the selection of cursors.
The Problem :
____This caused the themes to show up in the icon tab of the gnome theme menu as well. Like a dope, I clicked it in there to see what would happen. Gnome crashed, and now crashes everytime I try to log in.
The Ultimate Questions :
____One, how do I switch it back to a working cursor theme from the command line, so I can log back into gnome? Two, what's the proper way to install xcursor themes, so I can do it right from now on?

Step 1: Unpack the tarball to a ~/.icons directory. Create this directory if it doesn't exist.
Step 2: You should now have several directories in the ~/.icons folder. One called "default" and one for each theme you want to have available. In your case, one called "jimmac". Edit the ~/.icons/default/index.theme file so that the second line of the file looks like this:

You should be now using the new cursors. These instructions are for a particular user only. To do it system-wide (I also use Gentoo), follow the same instructions but substitute the /usr/share/cursors/xfree/ directory in for the ~/.icons directory.

PS: In my case, it is not completely cli, i had have to choose it in menu->desktop->preferences->mouse->pointers_tab
PPS: imo, default raw x11(from Xorg) cursor teh best!!!1!!111, by accident, my cursor theme was changed ugly default white theme.. i don't know how to go back!

Many ThanksYep, i just did it again. The entire scroll-bar widget, complete with formatted text, graphics, etc., pasted itself nicely in another book. Two different files, the same widget.
I use the scroll-bar widgets for most of my texts. (I have audio buttons on the side, and the scripts are within the widget, to the side). My only text is within widgets, and text boxes, naturally.
I am following your recommendation: cleaning files, etc. I am remaking the book anew. I need to convince the EPUB bot or whatever that my file looks and works nicely on all my devices. You would expect an error message when previewing the book: 'Hey Amigo, your file is flawed, stop working on it, and get back to the drawing board." Should be able to try again next Monday. -

Well it all started with Aperture 3 trying to import some photos from my iphone.It took ages to import those photos and like I was in a hurry to finish my work in Illustrator so I tryied to force quit on A3 and it didn´t, so I shut down the computer and started over.it was all ok but I uninstalled the A3 and the I realized the icons were back to original form and a few fonts changed.so I Installed the trial version of A3.I did a restart of the system and then there was.aperture lauching but no dock and a 80% of the icons disappeared, but the names of the files and folder remained.and I cand acces the apps from the apple sign on the left corner.I tried also restarting a few time but it´s always the same.I am a recent user of a mac , and please excuse my bad english.If this is in any way useful please help me!

I have both the silver discs specific to my iMac and Mac Pro models that you receive with your Mac, and a general copy of Snow Leopard that you buy from the store.
I used the silver disc that is specific for my iMac to install the drivers, and Boot Camp 3.0 on my iMac. But with the Mac Pro, the software is older and only has Boot Camp 2.0, thus I'm wondering if I can simply use the software on the general copy of Snow Leopard I own, or does the silver disc contain specific drivers for my Mac Pro that I need?
I'm under perhaps the wrong impression that the silver discs that you get with your Mac purchase contain drivers for your specific Mac model which you can't get from the general Snow Leopard disc.

Thanks for your prompt response, however I have first seen it now. I have placed an active SIM card in the iPhone turned it off and on. It now says SIM locked, please write access code. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas? “iBoostUp.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “iBoostUp.app” and download it again from the App Store.
Because of the above error, i am not able to use iboostup application. I have even tried to reinstall from app store, but the issue still continues.
Need help.Perhaps the damaged file is an auxiliary file outside the app bundle and stored elsewhere on your Mac. Try deleting the app and all it files with an app for that purpose. Afree one is AppCleaner;

Dreamweaver sync with Photoshop not Fireworks
When I upgraded to CS3 at work, my fireworks and dreamweaver remained working together in the properties bar. When I upgraded at home to CS3 I now have Photoshop in my property bar. How do I change this back to fireworks, my preferred choice.?
