Need help flashing 865PE Neo2 BIOS

I recently bought a MSI 865PE Neo2-S and it came with the 1.2 Bios, I can't get a good overclock from this bios, and when I use corecenter to raise the FSB to 250 at 5:4 ratio it shows 3000 mhz but I see no changes in WCPUID etc, so I decided to flash to the 1.52 BIOS, i've already got it here but I hear you can use a flasher instead of doing the old floopy, dos thing
I downloaded LiveUpdate3 but it will flash my BIOS to 1.4 and I just want to install 1.52
I did a quick search around the forums and didn't find much about it, any help would be appreciated

First of all I suggest that you install LIVE MONITOR and LIVE UPDATE utilities.  Secondly, get yourself a new floppy disk.  Allow utility to go online and retrieve updates for your product.  After that the utilty will tell you what it found. follow directions to the T and install any NEW DRIVERS BEFORE YOU DO ANY FLASHING!!! Reboot new drivers run utility (LIVE-UPDATE)and choose BOIS and start. I recomend you select DOS option over WINDOWS option FOLLOW DIRECTIONS IT WILL PROMPT YOU.. DO NOT!! REBOOT!! UNTIL PROMPTED!! GOOD LUCK!  Sean Reilly875

  • Need help flashing nf980 g65 bios

I just put together the NF980-G65 with a 6 core AMD processor. From what I understand it doesn't support the 6 cores unless I flash it to the latest BIOS update. It won't let me install Windows 7 or XP so I'm trying to use mflash. I downloaded the zip and extracted it onto a usb drive that's formatted with fat32. Then in the  BIOS when I try to do the update it can't find the file. It only shows partition 0, previous folder, or media folder. For some reason it won't find the update. I have tried everything I can think of, also using a different usb drive. Please help.

  • Need help FLASH not launching and not uninstalling "licensing for this product has stopped working".

Need help FLASH not launching and not uninstalling "licensing for this product has stopped working" and " you can only install one adobe product at a time please complete the other installation"  Flash was working absolutely fine before, I have no idea why this happened.

I am having similar problem.  Can't open any of CS3 programs after trying to download Dreamweaver Trial, which wouldn't work because "couldn't remove DLM extention" error message.  So now I can not run Illustrator, Photoshop, or even Adobe Reader.  These are properly licensed for about a year. I get "License for product has stopped working".  Have 2 pending cases open with Adobe support (one for Dreamweaver trial, one for license problem) since 8/3 with NO ANSWERS - It says answers within 1-3 business days.  Was on phone support hold today for over 3 hours before line went dead with no help.  What is up with adobe support?  Can anyone help?

  • BIOS doesnt recognize SATA connected Hard Drive- need help flashing bios from bootable USB

    hi
I have an envy laptop running InsydeH20 bios rev f14.
the bios doesn't recognize the internally connected hdd/ssd.
I have heard that with insyde bios', sometimes you have to unlock 'secret capabilities' to recognize hardware incl internal hdd.
but I am just trying to reflash my bios.
the problem is that I cant get into windows because it doesn't recognize my hard drive and windows doesn't allow insallation to usb connected drives.
I downloaded the patch from hp.com for my product and it actually has an option for making a bootable USB for use on the actual system, and I did this. the instructions are to just restart my computer with the bootable usb. I have tried Legacy support on and off, neither updates bios.
I highly doubt it has anything to do with the physical sata connector.
basically I need to flash my bios from bootable usb. I have done some research about making a bootable dos usb etc etc but I don't know what program to even run and how..
this is a link to my product:

    hi
I need to flash the bios of my system. the bios is not recognizing hardware and cannot boot into windows to run the bios flash for windows.
on my other comp I ran the bios update patch and chose ' install to bootable usb ' so that I could use it on my system.
cannot run on my laptop. tried booting from the media. tried allowing 'legacy' compatibility.
im running insydeH2O rev f14 right now.

  • Need help flashing my BIOS

I just tried to flash the BIOS on my MSI Z87-G43 mb but I was unsuccessful.  I was trying to use the M-Flash capability in the BIOS but when I tried to save my current BIOS to the USB flash drive I got the message that no USB key was found and to please plug in a USB key and try again.  I decided to skip saving the current BIOS and just flash the new BIOS and the same message appeared.  I tried the USB socket on the front of my case, the USB 2.0 socket on the MB I/O panel and the USB 3.0 socket on the MB I/O panel. None of them worked.
The USB flash drive is just a generic 1 GB flash drive.  Prior to the attempts, I used the option to "Load Optimized Defaults" or whatever it is called.  Within the BIOS, I used the "Board Explorer" option and I was able to "see" my USB flash drive on the Board Explorer.
What is the trick to getting the MB to see my USB flash drive during M-Flash?

    Never known that to happen before. Here is a possible recovery method;

  • 865pe Neo2 BIOS not detected

I have just finished installing the 865pe neo2 and p4 3.0Ghz. When I boot up I get a message that BIOS is not detected. It will nevertheless boot seemingly properly into linux but booting into windows is a bit of a dissaster. I have run the live update from windows and it flashed my BIOS which failed when I rebooted and I had to use the rescue disk that I made b4 I flashed but I still get the message that no BIOS has been found and something about Dram timing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Adam

The huge problem is that you CANNOT get to the BIOS.  It hangs before you can get there.  LOL.
Well, I tried using the bios recovery to get to version 1.3, but now it won't post at all.  The D-Bracket says that it is a memory problem, but the memory was fine before changing bios.  I am still working on it...

MSI just came out with a new bios revision for the MSI GT70 0NC I was wanting to know which bios revision is for my MSI notebook?

Hello again my friend, yes it's me again. Here's a screenshot from our last bios flash you helped me out with. Remember I have Windows 8 and still used the MSI flashing tool because I have the older MSI GT70 0NC So I was wanting to know which of the new ones I can obtain and download for my notebook again.

  • Need help with k8n neo2 platinum

I've just installed a new k8n neo2 platinum s939 board with a venice core 3200+ cpu the htt is 2000 and multiplier 10x.
I've gone to the core cell menu and set the htt to 4x (seemed to be this at default) and the max mem clock at 166 (more about this in a moment), the fsb will go quite easily up to 250mhz even 255mhz, but when I try 260 Mhz the machine when it reboots shows the initial slash screen but then goes to a blank screen with the cursor flashing in the top left hand corner, I can't even get back into the bios setup without clearing the cmos.
The odd thing is that the adjust cpu vid is showing a voltage of 1.50 and not 1.40 or startup.
Anyway with the fsb at 250mhz the bios screen is showing the Current ddr clock at 208 mhz ( not the max memclock setting of 166) the memory in the motherboard ( a crucial 512meg ddr333 single stick) seems to perform OK according to memtest which shows no errors after 2 cycles.
Any attempt to get to 260mhz fsb appears to fail even by upping the cpu vid to 1.525v unless i adjust the cpu voltage setting which by default is set to (by cpu vid) to +3.3%. Doing this enables me to get to fsb 260mhz but the memtest fails ( even when I set the max memclock to 133, which shows my current ddr speed at 174mhz, well below the 208mhz which appeared stable with the fsb at 250mhz?)
So firstly why are there two cpu voltage settings in the bios when my manual only shows 1 (there is no mention of this cpu vid setting?
How is it that my memory is stable at 208mhz with a fsb of 255mhz but unstable at 174mhz with the fsb set at 260mhz?
Why does the memory clock lock not appear to be working, the memory should be fixed at 166mhz but infact increases with fsb?
    I have bios revision 1.5.
Please help as I am not familiar with the bios settings for this nforce 3 chipset, they seem rather odd to me. I'm sure my venice core 3200+ cpu can get beyond 250mhz fsb, I have another pc with a venice core 3000+ cpu which runs quite happily at 270mhz fsb.
PS I've tried reducing the htt to 3x but the same thing happens.

OK further feed back, I can get to over 260mhz fsb but the system is not stable the memory runs OK with mem test but I have problems with prime95.
I had to up the cpu core voltage to 1.53v to get to 260mhz using the cpu voltage setting in the bios and setting a 5% increase. increasing the cpu vid setting to 1.55v did not seem to do anything at all the core voltage was still at 1.43v.
I upped the mem voltage to 2.6v from 2.5 but still could not get the system to be stable, it may be that the memory is holding the system back but I don't want to pay for better memory at the moment. Unless anyone has got any other ideas it looks like I may be forced to settle with 250mhz, well still a 500mhz increase maybe not that bad. I've now to try 3d benchmarking using my radeon 9600xt and 3dmark 03.

  • Need help recovering from a BIOS upgrade failure

I was helping someone with their laptop and it was not responding well so I decided to reboot the system (user normally puts it to sleep).  Screen went black after reboot, no BIOS screen or blacklight.  I connected an external monitor and was able to see everything fine.  Did some research in the knowledge base and found the following article which suggests making sure you are running the latest BIOS.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01997899&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc...
"As a final action, if there is an image on the external monitor and you have installed the latest BIOS, updated CPU chips set, and updated graphics drivers but the notebook display remains black, the LCD may be defective. It may be necessary to contact HP for technical assistance or send the notebook for service to replace the display."
Seeing that it was running an older version I decided to update it.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-89419-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
Watched the update (it mentioned that it was backing up the old bios) and when it had flashed the 16 blocks the external monitor went black (not sure if it was rebooting) and nothing happened.  Waited over 10 minutes figuring it was doing something.  Turned off the laptop and turned it back on again and the only thing that happens is the caps lock light blinks with no pause.  Num lock light is on solid.  Also it will not power up without the battery installed.
    Here are the specs:
    HP Pavilion dv9580us
    Product# GA334UA
    Windows Vista 32 bit
    Original BIOS version F.09
Updated BIOS to version F.5  using SP48024
I have looked at various articles like the following but not sure if they apply to this model.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Lockups-Freezes-Hangs/Fixing-A-laptop-which-had-had-a-bad-BIOS...
Tried connecting a USB floppy drive and holding the "Windows"+"B" or "FN"+"B" or the 4 arrow keys and it doesn't try to access the floppy drive.
What I am hoping for is that someone from HP can tell me what is required to do a bios recovery for this model which was manufactered in 2007.  There is not a "HP_Tools" partition.
Can I do a recovery with only the external monitor working?
Do I need to use a USB drive or floppy?
With only the BIOS software (link above) how do I extract the files for the USB drive or floppy?
Any help is much appreciated.  God Bless,
    John

i was wondering what you meant with "label file". an alias.
but it's a bit strange. the "send registration" alias points to a document called Send Registration.setup which in turn is executed by Setup Assistent.app. the alias and the document are 4KB in size each. the app about 45MB. it's just a simple app, that asks for your personal data, like name, adresse, e-mail and so on, to register them with apple, if you choose to do so. no way that it suddenly mutates to 15GB.
and indeed, deleting the alias would have no effect on the system. so i strongly assume you've deleted something else accidentally.
    fire wire target mode. yes.
start the macbook pro. connect it via fire wire cable to your macbook. then boot the macbook while holding down the "T" key. the macbook should now show a big fire wire drive icon on it's grey bootscreen. on the macbook pro the internal drive of your macbook will now show up as a mounted firewire drive like an external hard drive. you can then access it from the macbook pro to copy your data from it onto the macbook pro or another external harddrive connected to it.
after that you can dismount the drive and power your macbook down. insert the install dvd, that came with the macbook and hold "C" key while booting it up again. it should now boot from the dvd and open the os x installer. select your language and reinstall the system.

  • Need help -I fragged my bios

My system was intermittantly having problems with the alarm going off for no apparent reason; considering the BIOS had never been updated I "thought" I'd try that. It stopped partway through with an error message. When I tryed to re-boot my optical drives act like they are being accessed, but my floppy drive doesn't even when I try the  Ctrl-Home force update. If I put the AMIBOOT.ROM on a CD or DVD would Ctrl-Home work from it?
As of now my optical drives cycle endlessly while my monitor stays dark with nary a flicker of life.

    Hi
Explained above MASI was typo, Should be MSI
As Southmike mentioned there was a long thread on this a while ago. Concensus was that as above, PCI vid card and fresh ram, with total discharge was only way to reset the board - but if its the chip thats dud, then that won't help, if its the floppy drive then it will.  The PCI card is made by MSI to allow soldered bios boards to be reflashed, it contains its own bios, and when plugged into a PCI slot will start the mobo, once up and running, you flash the bios, then remove PCI card - very simple. I think its called a TL 64 or 68, but I'm probably wrong there.  I think MSI only issue them to those who have a large requirement for this type of thing, the rest of us have to send the boards in to whoever has a PCI card.
Try a change of floppy drive, and a differant cable, its worth a try.
    Cheers

  • Bricked my notebook - Need help resurrecting my BIOS

    [Notebook Info]
    HP 2000-329WM
    Windows 7 32-bit
    Current BIOS version: F.43
    [Description]
I attempted to upgrade my BIOS (or at least what I thought was an upgrade) and installed an incorrect InsydeH20 (EFI) BIOS. I also attempted to recover this myself using a thumbdrive (see screen capture) and following the steps by unplugging the power chord and removing the battery. Then, holding Win+B, inserting thumb drive and turning the power on. It appears to read the thumb drive, but only for about 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, caps lock begins flashing (as it does when it isn't attempting to flash the BIOS) I'm unsure what i'm doing wrong here. If anyone could assist me with bringing this giant paper weight back to life, I would greatly appreciate it! I would rather not send the machine in, so if there any specific instructions you would like me to follow in order to fix it, I can easily follow them. Thanks!

  • Kt3ultra(nonAru)NEED HELP!!no bios save!

    Hi everybody!!
I am new with the forum, and have a problem with my kt3utlra.
I bougth it USED, bulk, to make a office-use pc for my girlfriend.
PROBLEM: When I turn it on the cpuFAN starts, but I have no video signal.
Then I clear the CMOS by shorting jbat1 for 10 seconds or removing the battery, turn on the pc, and it starts, but it makes 2short beeps and a third bip after a 1 second pause. The bios starts, make the post and find the HD.
But the process stops because it says me that the CMOS configuration in incorrect, and I have two choices: F1 to enter the setup, F2 to load the std config.
If I enter the setup, ami 5.7, I can manage it, but when I confirm "save and exit" the monitor turn of and the pc dies (ctrl+alt+canc doesn't work, I can't reset, I have to turn-off by pushign the power-on swich for 8 seconds).
Now if I restart, the monitor stays off. NO beeps, nothing. If I clear again the CMOS, I have again the former process (pc starts, but dies after saving the changes to the bios)
If I press F2 I can load from winMe boot disc and get the prompt a:>. Here I can load the ami tool to flasch the bios and flash the bios, but after flashing, when it should restart, the monitor turns off, as before, and nothing more happends.
    WHAT CAN I MAKE??????????????????? I DON'T UNDERSTAND.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!
ps: on the bios there is a label: phoenix d686...but kt3ultra only mount AMI bios!!!! What does it means?
thank to everybody who will help me!
I have an athlon 1333, 256 Mb pc2100 + 256 Mb pc2700, HD quantum fireball 20.5Gb IBM, PSU primex 350W (200W with 5V+3,3V) (28A,35A,16A with 12V), and an old PCI vga sis, since I'm still waiting for the shipping of a radeon9200SE.

tks everybody!! I was away for some days and I could not connect to the net.
I'm afraid that the my mobo is an OEM version, because I read a label on the bios, on which results that it is PHOENIX bios (that is award bios )
The problem is tha on the bios is written the release 5.7 of the official AMI bios. How is it possible? I read on an other post that a guy bought an oem version with the award bios 5.0, but he was not allowed to update the bios to the ami 5.7 because of the software. Probabli who sold me the mobo achieved it
But now? what could i make?
Also the problem of the 4 pin-12V PSU cable is possible, but the mobo has not it. Where could I connect it? the PSU has it.
Finally, I tried with both dimms of ram, than with each one, but the result was always the same: black screen after saving and exiting, no possibility to reset or use the ctrl+alt+del. Even if I turn-off the pc without clearing the cmos or removing the battery, I can't restart the pc: the cooler starts, but all the rest is black and silent, no beeps, nothing.
    that' s all!
Thank again for your help!!!! IF you heve more ideas , please, let me know.
    Bye!

  • Need help flash cs3

    Hi all,
I have a very basic 5 rotating images with a simple script to link to a company website when a person click on the pictures.
My question is when i have uploaded it onto my website it works for a few days perfectly, then all i get is a white blank square where the flash ad should be. I have to rename the .swf file then upload it again and it works fine again for a few days.
I have other flash ads on my website and they all work fine except for this one. I cant keep changing it every few days as it is driving me crazy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ken

By the way if you read pc magazines norton internet security
came 2nd last in the detetion rate! (Luckily for me it came with a
6month trial of kasperspy!! No more norton for me). All the big
brands were at the bottom of the list and ill try to take a pic of
it. So there MIGHT be a virus, who knows?

  • Need Help, Flash Froze

Flash is frozen, not responding and I was a few hours into
making something, is there any way to either unfreeze it or does
flash have a recovery system or anything?

Have you not saved in hours? You should save every 15 minutes
at the absolute longest, in case your computer crashes on you.
The only way to unfreeze Flash is to wait it out. You can go
into your task manager and turn off unnecessary tasks with the hope
that the entire system doesn't crash, and that Flash will finish
whatever it needed and unfreeze, or you can just wait. After a
time, though, you are better off just forcing it to close, and
    eating the lost work.
Flash does not have a recovery system, to my knowledge, and
it is something that they have needed to add for several
    versions.
