Need help forcibly ejecting a CD. I've tried everything

Hello all,
I attempted to burn an ISO to a brand new CD-RW disc on an Intel 1.86Ghz Mac running OS X 10.4.6. Unfortunately, after preparing the file to be written, OS X produced an error dialogue about the CD being unable to be written to (it had done this immediately before with a new CD).
After ejecting the disc and sticking it back in again, the CD will now no longer eject.
Pressing eject on the keyboard doesn't work (even when logged out or after restarting).
Dragging the CD to trash doesn't work.
Attempting to eject in Finder doesn't work, similarly dragging the CD on the desktop to the trash.
Holding down the left mouse button whilst restarting only results in the restart hanging, and having to manually power-off via holding down the power-button.
Disk utility hangs when attempting to load.
This leaves manual eject with a paper-clip, ONLY THERE IS NO HOLE ON THE SIDE OF AN INTEL iMAC!
Please help. I really do not want to have to send the machine back to Apple, or one of their repairers. I'm absolutely stuck.
And since I've restarted several times, I really doubt there is a process trying to use the CD.
Please, please help.

- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

- Wait if it is an Apple problem

Based on the logic ouput of a comparison, the index buffer should increment
or decrement every time the output of comparsion changes(event change). I guess I need to use event structure?
(My event code doesn't execute when there is an event at its input /comparator changes its boolean state.
Anyone coded on similar lines? Any ideas appreciated.

You don't need an Event Structure, a simple State Machine would be more appropriate.
There are many examples of State Machines within this forum.

If your rescue email is not working and you cannot remember even one answer, then you only have one option - call Apple.

Need Help Putting Together a rMBP so I Have Everything I Need...

Hello-
I am having trouble getting the right kind of help from "Chat Now" on apple.com and calling in to get my questions/needs taken care of so that when I get the rMBP I will be sure I wil have what I need to go right online and teach the online courses. I even went to the local apple store and woked with a couple sames guys there, but they were not clear in a couple situations on what I would need with the different options the rMBP gives. so I am truning to the great apple forum for additional help. this might be too much to ask even for tis forum, but if I can learn a little at a time, maybe I can gradually gain the knowledge I need to have a complete and functioning home office for my personal computing needs and my needs as an online teacher at a university back East. My technical knowledge is not the best, so as far as the rMBP goes, a big problem for me is that I do not have the knowledge to make sure I order everything I need with the changes a new rMBP will bring to my current setup (which is just a basic MBP using a wireless router and a USB cable for the printer that I just connect when I need to print). I realizee my current set up on my desk is not the most advanced, but I would need a pro to come to my office and help me get the best set-up for what I am curently using. It seems that the agents I chat with and/or talk to on the phone are aslo lacking in knowledge to help me put together a rMBP that will be ready to fully use and have with the order all that I need so that I do not have to order additional items in a mad rush to be ready for the courses I am teaching online. I have read several articles about the rMBP so that I cold have some knowledge about what I will need but as I said my techie knowledge is lacking. I am looking at the 15" rMBP with all of the full upgrades that the configure option allows one to get. I am not clear if I do run into trouble with my wi fi and have to use my ethernet cable what I will need to do this. I also have programs that are older that I am guesing I will need to install using a DVD player. I would like to hook up the printer I have or a new Canon printer and use it wirelessly, but for now I will most likely be using it with a USB cable. I am not clear on the thunderbolt technology and if I should get any of these cables for any of the connections. I also would like to get a great speaker system and will need to hook that up, but I am not clear on the best way to do this. I have been wanting an iMac, but I am not sure what is a good slection to get and how to connect it to the rMBP or one of the other 2 older MBPs I currently have.
If somebody could list for me what I would need to have a complete rMBP that will allow me to do these hookups and connections and explain what would be the best way to complete the various connections so that I have all that I will need to get up and running, I would really appreciate it. Because I do not have any USB 3.0 cables or cables for various additional connections, I would need help/suggestions in this area. I realize this is hard to do not seeing my office, but since I will be starting new with the purchase of the new rMBP and hopefully an iMac (and a new Canon printer and new set of great sounding speakers) getting some advice on what I should order for the various connections would be a hugh help. Part of the problem is with the rMBP and not having used one of these in the past. I know some of the differences with this machine like the lack of an internal SuperDrive and the new ports, but I do not know what cables I will need that will utilize the newer technology this machine and an imac will bring to my office.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, even if you do not give me specific answers, but an idea, for example, of what I might need to connect the speaker system (knowing the best way the new speaker system shold be connected to the rMBP and/or the iMac. I am not even clear if I do want to use the iMac with the rMBP for teaching with a larger display what I will need to connect the imac to the rMBP. is this done by an HDMI cable and if so is there a specific type or example you could mention that is on apple.com?

There are many differences with the new rMBP. There are ports that I am not sure what I would use them for. Even the ethernet cable I use now to get the internet will not work with the rMBP. I thought there would be some additional help on here. as far as configuring the rMBP there are just a few options but the differences between an older MBP and the new rMBP is great. No need to reply I will turn off email notifications. I gave as much information as I did because in the past I was told to give more information.

We are getting a pop up that says we need to install flash player plug in. we tried everything, nothing works

Occasionally software installs are not completed until you restart Windows. You might want to try that at some point if you haven't already.
Adobe has a cleanup tool described in this article where you can scrub out all Flash versions and start again. [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems]]
I do not recommend uninstalling Firefox.
You can refresh your Firefox installation or update to Firefox 20 by running the Firefox installer. You do not need to remove the old version first. You can get that download here:

i managed to do this for my app. (think i referred to viewTransitions sample code and modified quite a bit)
i can't remember this well cos i did this quite a while back, but i will try to help as much as possible
1) from the appdelegate i initialize a root controller (view controller class)
2) this root controller actually contains two other view controllers, let's call it viewAController and viewBController, for the screens which u are going to toggle in between. and there's also a function, let's call it toggleMenu, which will set the menus to and fro. i copied this whole chunk from the sample code. it actually defines the code on what to do, i.e. if current view is A switch to B and vice versa.
3) inside the controller files, you need to implement the toggleMenu function too, which basically calls the rootController's toggleMenu
4) we also need viewA and viewB files(view class)
5) need to add the .xib files for the respective views and link them up to the controller class. i did not use the .xib files for ui layout though, because of my app's needs. however, it will not work properly without the .xib files.
5) inside the view class of both views, i.e. viewA.m and viewB.m, you need to create a button, that will call the toggleMenu function inside the respective controller class.
it will look something like this:
[Button addTarget:ViewAController action:@selector(toggleMenu:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
so the flow is really button (in view)-> toggleMenu(viewController) -> toggleMenu(rootController)
i'm sorry it sounds pretty hazy, i did this part weeks before and can't really remember. i hope it helps.

I need HELP !!!!! I tried to hook up my new modem...OOPS

I tried to hook up a modem from Bell Sympatico,and was not successful.....I called the help people,and the first operator asked me to go to my control panel and move my Internet Explorer file to my hard drive and change the settings in the TCP/IP settings. Now my computer will not stop running. I cannot click on ANY of the icons to try to fix the problem......HELP

You have an early model iMac, no? If so, there's a small button on the side where the USB ports are. Press that for five seconds or so and the machine will shut down or reboot (can't remember exactly how that goes).
FIRST, let it go through the diagnostic when it starts up (or you start it), then go to the control panels and choose the TCP/IP control.
You are using a cable modem, right? If so, go to Edit then go to User Mode and set that for Advanced. In the lower right corner the Options button will enable - click on that and set the button to Make TCP/IP Active - and UN-check the 'Load only when needed' button so the modem is on all the time - which is what you want. Okay that.
Now you need to set the Ethernet settings in the main window. Where it says Connect Via: choose 'Ethernet' from the button bar. Then where it says Configure: set it to 'Using DHCP Server' from that button bar.
At this point, you close the window, and the program will ask you if you want to save changes. Pick 'yes' and let it close. Now you should be up and running. To check if you are, go back into the TCP/IP control panel and see if it's showing your IP address. If so, the browser fun begins.
Take whatever browser you have and start it. Internet Explorer is fairly dead, Microsoft servers will serve pages wrong to IE for Mac, and you'll have a terrible time getting around. Go to this address - http://wamcom.org/latest-131/ and download the OS 8.6 and 9.x build available (don't forget the 'fix for macos9-20030721 - it does make all the difference in the world).

as above really, I have had my ipod 20gb clickwheel nearly 4 years and no problems, all of a sudden itunes has come up with this error message. I cannot take off or put songs onto the ipod, or move them around in playlists etc, but when not connected to my pc the ipod itself works fine.
Please help, I have tried most things such as unistalling itunes, error-checking the disk in my computer etc.
Has anyone got any other suggestions? I don't really want to restore the ipod as some of my music is not backed up, I manage it manually it that helps??

Use this microsoft installer cleanup tool to get reid of itunes, then quicktime.

Wrap a tape sticky side out around a tongue depressor, or the like, and insert it in the slot and see if you can snag it. Orient the MBP where gravity is an ally.
