Need help getting app onto ipod touch

my computer recently died on me so i've got a lend of my friends laptop at the moment. i authorised the computer to my ipod and then purchased a few apps but it wont let me put the apps i downloaded on my friends laptop (using my account of course) onto my ipod touch. please can someone help me get this problem sorted.

You went to the apps tab, selected sync apps, selected the apps to sync?
You synced?
What happened?
You can sync ipod touch to only one computer at a time, so if you sync to another computer, it will first erase the content from the ipod.

I'm trying to get CD onto ipod touch. copied it into ITunes library but when I get to synching 'selected playlists etc' all options are greyed out. Head to Settings -> General -> Restrictions on your iPod Touch and make sure that restrictions for app installations are turned off.

This has happened to me but i don't know what to do because my Itunes kept closing down and it shut down half way through updating and it just comes up with a silver apple and it won't turn off and now it's just frozen and it also doesn't recognise it when i opened up itunes again after i reset it to the factory settings

Need help!!! ipod touch acting very wierd!!!

i went on vacation and i tried to listen to my ipod. i tried to turn it on but it wouldnt work. i tried to hold both buttons down and it turned on, but it would turn on, show the apple logo, shut off, and then do the same thing over and over until i reset it again.then it would just turn off. i tried connecting it to my computer when i got home. itunes said it was in recovery mode and i had to restore it. i tried but i got a message saying an unknown error 1603 occured. after that it wouldnt turn on at all. i looked again today and it turned on, but like before only if i held both buttons down to reset it. now it has a lot of random numbers and letters and then it says this at the bottom:

those are the only actual words on the screen. its really wierd. also, i clicked on "about itunes" in the help menu. it said itunes 7.6.2.9. i think thats the version of itunes i have. but my ipod was acting wierd before i plugged it in so i dont think that would make a difference. please help.

As long as you're still covered under warranty, you can still have your iPod serviced.

NEED HELP ASAP! Transferring ipod touch from 1 account to another.

My children just returned from trip to dad's where they each received ipod touches that dad synced to his account instead of waiting till they got home to sync to mine. We already have a very well established account we have had for years so I need to pretty much reset their ipods to my account. Not too worried about the 2 apps that were bought will just replace those. Can anybody help me with this issue. Thanks!

You Don’t Want to Sync Info on iPod touch to Your Computer
Replace contacts, calendars, mail accounts, or bookmarks on iPod touch with
information from your computer.
Replace iPod touch information:
1 Open iTunes.
2 As you connect iPod touch to your computer, press and hold Command-Option (if
you’re using a Mac) or Shift-Control (if you’re using a PC) until you see iPod touch in
the iTunes sidebar. This prevents iPod touch from syncing automatically.
3 Select iPod touch in the iTunes sidebar and click the Info tab.
4 Under “Replace information on this iPod touch,” select Contacts, Calendars, Mail
Accounts, or Bookmarks. You can select more than one, if you like.
5 Click Apply.
Information of the selected type is erased from iPod touch and replaced with what’s
on your computer. The next time you sync, iPod touch syncs normally, adding
information you’ve entered on iPod touch to your computer, and vice versa.

- Look at the Requirments section of the app description. It will say if the app is also applicable to the iPod touch. Most are.
- Yes you can sync apps to each iPod from your iTunes library. See:

- If the iPods have iOS 4.3 or later you can directly redownload the apps directly to the iPods by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
The iPod has to b signed into the accountt hat puchased them.

I have a 32GB IPod touch from about 4 years ago. When I plug it in to ITunes to update it says my software is up to date, however, when I've tried to load a few different apps it tells me my software is out of date and I need to upgrade. Confused??

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Hi,
Assuming you already have an iTunes account set up, you will need one even for "free" apps.
First download some Apps from the Appstore in iTunes.
Then connect your Touch and click on it's "device name" in iTunes. Go to the "Applications" tab on the summary page and check mark the Apps you require to install, then synch.
Alternatively use the AppStore app on your Touch to purchase and install them.

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Having trouble getting audiobooks onto iPod Touch

I've tried troubleshooting this for my mom to no avail...
We've found them in the iPod tab on iTunes -- they are all there, and she's able to check the box to Sync to her iPod, but nothing. She's got enough capacity... we've even tried moving them to a playlist but those playlists will mysteriously not show up in the Sync tab on iTunes...
Any idea what's going on here? Trying to help from 1500 miles away but it's hard to tell.

Are you positive these audiobooks are configured to sync to the iPod Touch? Wouldn't hurt to double check.
Plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes, click on its name from under the Devicessection in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will bring you to the iPod's Summary tab. Look for the Books configuration tab along the top and click that.
There should be an option right that the top that says Sync Audiobooks with a checkbox next to it. Make sure it is ticked. Then configure other settings below that.
