Need help hooking up a keyboard!

I have a korg triton and i just bought a macbook, does anyone know how i can hookup my keyboard to my laptop so i can record what im playing. This is all new to me so im not sure what i need?

You'll need a MIDI interface if you want to do that type of thing or, you can use an audio interface to play "live" into your recording software.

What version of iTunes is on the computer?
You may need iTunes 10.5 or later. That requires OSX 10.5.8 or later.

Need help hooking up Maxent 42" Plasma to mac mini

i have a newly acquired maxent 42" plasma product number mx42xm11 i called their rep and he said it wouldnt work but i have read a couple forums where people have gotten other maxent monitors to work i was wondering if someone could help me set this one up.

I searched and found this:

2 x Composite video input (RCA phono), 1 x DVI-HDCP (24 pin digital DVI), 2 x S-Video input (4 pin mini-DIN), 2 x HD component input (RCA phono x 3), 1 x VGA input (15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15)), 6 x Audio line-in (RCA phono x 2), 1 x Subwoofer output (RCA phono), 1 x Audio line-out (RCA phono x 2), 1 x VGA output (15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15)), 1 x Serial (9 pin D-Sub)
It looks as simple as connecting a standard VGA cable from the Mini to the VGA port. It also listed the resolution as 1024x768, which is a standard 4:3 resolution.
You could also try a DVI cable as long as your DVI input looked similar to tha back of your Mini.
Where would you need help?

Busted Screen, Need Help Hooking Up Monitor

The screen on my Powerbook is totally busted so I tried hooking up a monitor to it, but it seems to not be working correctly. All I see is my desktop picture, and no icons (like the HD or folders on my desktop), dock, or even the menu bar are not showing up. At first, I thought it was a ratio issue since the monitor is more square than the laptop screen, and therefore cutting the edges out where the menu bar, etc. would lie, but I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. I'm guessing I have to go into my system prefs and set the computer up to work with the monitor, but the problem is since the screen's totally shot, I can't even go in and do that. Any suggestions? Hi, hobageeba. What is the maximum resolution offered by your external monitor (consult its manual or the manufacturer's online specs for it)?
If the external monitor's maximum resolution (1024 x 768 or 1600 x 1200, for example) is as large as or larger than the maximum resolution of your Powerbook's display, you may be able to get a normal desktop — including the menu bar, desktop icons, etc. — displayed on the external monitor by pressing the F7 key on the Powerbook's keyboard. That should toggle the external display from Extended Desktop mode into Display Mirroring mode, in which the same video signal is sent to both displays, allowing you to use the external as the main display. (Note: under some circumstances, toggling F7 has no effect — and I don't know what circumstances, or why not. If it doesn't seem to do anything, it probably hasn't done anything, and it won't be helpful to you.)
Typically, if the external monitor's resolution is higher than the built-in display's, a mirrored video image will be displayed in the center of it surrounded by black, instead of filling the monitor. That wastes screen real estate, but at least you know you're seeing the whole desktop, and if your monitor is good, the image will be as sharp as it was on the built-in display when it worked.
If the external monitor has a lower maximum resolution than the built-in screen, the results of switching to Mirrored mode are less predictable. You may see only the center of the desktop, with the menu bar, hard drive icon, and other icons that were at the edges of the desktop "displayed" outside the edges of the external monitor. In that case it may be impossible to tell the difference between Mirrored and Extended Desktop modes, depending on what your desktop background image is. I don't know of a way to overcome that.
Whatever you find out about the monitor's resolution, give the F7 toggle a try and see what happens.

Poor student researcher in desperate need help hooking up an Adam 4017 and 4018m to windows 7 computer!

Thought I was getting a great deal. Like the loggers. Have them hooked up but I can not link to any program. Grant it I am a novice when it comes to these things. Im a microbiologist looking for bacteria that makes electric not a programmer.
I need the most cost effective way to record data off of these loggers. Im supposesd to begin a project on friday. Dasylab? Anything. If I can just collect the numbers in a folder I can process.

Need help choosing a MIDI keyboard

I am about to go on the road with my band, was wondering if any of you guys could help me choose a MIDI keyboard.
I need a keyboard to trigger my samples and synths which are set up in Logic, which has about 88 keys, and quite a few controllers, it also needs to have semi-wieghted keys.
I have at the moment an M-Audio Keystation Pro 88. Im not to keen on it.
I have my eyes on a few keyboards but just wondered what you guys recommended.

the current midi controllers that are being offered right now such as from m-audio do seem a little cheap.
a little while ago i had to get a midi controller for my studio and i did not feel comfortable with most of the current controllers when i checked them out. i ended up getting a used roland a-90 and i did not regret this decision!
however, the roland a-90 is heavy. i think for use onstage it boils down to the question how much more weight do you want to carry in exchange for more potential reliability and sturdiness? a nice little detail about the a-90 is that it comes not only with the usual mod/pitch wheel but also with a joystick, which for live playing can be a bonus if you want to apply e.g. vibrato and pitch bend at the same time with one hand.
out of the newer controllers it looked to me that the ones by cme seem to be interesting, at least for the money. at least they have aftertouch...
i am sure there are other good options out there - this is just my little piece of experience.

Need help hooking up my macbook from 2009 to my samsung B2430HD LCD monitor

can not get a clear picture when hooking up my macbook to a 24inch LCD samsung b2430hd I have a mini dp to hdmi and hooked up the other end of the hdmi cable to my monitor but it isnt perfect quality it looks a little blurry. someone please help me! should I get a mini dp to vga and hook it up with a vga connection? I also read that I should change the 60 hertz to a lower one. Why wouldnt it work with HDMI I thought HDMI was the best quality? Is it because the samsung monitor isnt compatible with MAC's? please help

The maximum resolution for the monitor is 1080p. I have no problem getting this from my computer. When i use the HDMI i get 1080p, when i use VGA i get 1920 x 1080. Hmm

Need help hooking up my daughters computer on my wireless router.

I am totally new to the wireless world. I just bought a lynksys Wireless-G WRT54G wireless router. I hooked my new Dell XPS400 via the wired connection and my son's Dell inspiron notebook up via wireless. My daughter just got back from Hong Kong with a Toshiba computer and it sees my wireless network but it is asking for different information than my son's computer did. All I had to do with his was give the Key code and reboot the computer and he was able to get right on. Her computer is asking for the "Network Name (SSID)", "Network Authentication" and "Data Encryption", none of which am I sure what it wants. The only block calling for a key # is grayed out.
Is there anyone who might can give me some guidance on this?

Need help hooking up an old laser printer to my wireless router

I have an old HP Laserjet4 Plus that has been a workhorse. I've had it for years and it still works great. Previously I was using it as my network printer, plugged into a WRTP54G Linksys Vonage router. That setup worked fine, but over time the router began to drop my connection over and over. I decided to buy a new router and leave the old one to only use as a Vonage device.
I bought a WRT54GL and got it going yesterday (with the help of Linksys tech support). It is now my front router and the old Vonage router is plugged into it just so my telephone service can work. Now my telephone works and my wireless connection works, but I am unable to make my network printer work.
I know that my laptop has the proper driver as the printer was working fine through the old router. What do I need to do to get my printer working again?
Also, I am not very technically savvy so please spell out any steps I need to take for a novice. Thanks so much for your consideration.

but first write down that your rounter is now 192.168.15.1 not 192.168.1.1
after you made the last change did you have to restart your pc?
you will need to print out a status page like you did on the other. what is the current ip address it has? is it in the 192.168.15.xx range? if it is then what is it? as long as its .3 or higher but not .100 - 49 then skip the next step. keep in mind we want the printer to be static ip.
ok anyways, on your new printer you will need to set it to a static ip of 192.168.15.3 with a gateway of 192.168.15.1 and sub as 255.255.255.0 just like your other printer except the ip address off by one.
and in your pc right click on the printer > properties > ports > and either add 192.168.15.3 or modify the existing ip <<<really all we are doing is matching the ips so if printer is 192.168.15.35 make it that. make sure the printer is selected to 192.168.15.3 press save.

Need Help Setting Up External Keyboard

Hello:
I am having problems setting up the external keyboard.
I cannot get any audio for recording part from an external keyboard.
I cannot hear the any keyboard parts from my external keyboard.
It seems to be recording something. (I'm using the polysynth for testing)
I dragged a loop into Audio 1. That works.
However, when I dragged the synth part I recorded, I could not hear it.
The enable box on the core audio is checked.
My computer is PowerBook G4 with Mac OS X.
My external keyboard is the M-audio 49e through a USB cable.
Any ideas.

You need to select an instrument for your MIDI data to play thru. LE will record the data if it's available, but to hear it you need an instrument. You can select an LE instrument, or a GB instrument, or set-up a GM Synth (in the environment). To select an instrument, hold your pointer over the I/O plug-in area on the channel strip (you'll need to select an Inst track to do this first). Once you click on the insert, you'll get a drop-down menu. Select Stereo then select Logic. From there you'll see the Logic instruments (EFM1, ES1, etc.) plus the Garageband instruments. Select what you want and then hit play and you'll hear your recording.

Need help with T-43 keyboard mouse

I purchased a refurbished T-43 that came with a clean XP Pro install but none of the IBM downloads that came on my T-30. My problem is I can't de-activate the keyboard mouse from selecting links if when scrolling a program or website. If the cursor brushes a link, it is opened. In Control Panel / Mouse properties I have the CickLock "off" and under Keyboard, I do not show any IBM drivers or links, only "Standard 101/102 key or mocrosoft natural PS/2 keyboard".
If I recall, on my T-30 I enabled the device by using an IBM keyboard mouse link on control panel.
Any suggestions to what I should download to get my keyboard mouse to only respond to a left click to open a link?

you need to unpack and install the driver from the above two links (to install the driver it is under c: -> swtools -> drivers folders look for UNAV and UNAVUTIL folders).

I have an old mini DV camcorder from around 1997, and I have the proper cable to hook it up to my computer but it doesn't automatically detect it. Is there any software I can use to transfer analog to digital?
