Need help hooking up my daughters computer on my wireless router.

I am totally new to the wireless world.  I just bought a lynksys Wireless-G WRT54G wireless router.  I hooked my new Dell XPS400 via the wired connection and my son's Dell inspiron notebook up via wireless.  My daughter just got back from Hong Kong with a Toshiba computer and it sees my wireless network but it is asking for different information than my son's computer did.  All I had to do with his was give the Key code and reboot the computer and he was able to get right on.  Her computer is asking for the "Network Name (SSID)", "Network Authentication" and "Data Encryption", none of which am I sure what it wants.  The only block calling for a key # is grayed out.
Is there anyone who might can give me some guidance on this?
Thanks

Family sharing is only iOS 8 (and later)
I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
More details of how:
http://ipadhelp.com/ipad-help-tips-tricks/how-to-get-free-apps-from-the-app-stor e-without-a-credit-card/
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Use your Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

    Please help!!!

    Hi
No that's not the way to do it - iMovie gets confused and in some cases the problems might be un-repairable.
    You've got several problems
    • iMovie'08 - CAN NOT MOVE PROJCTS - You NEED iMovie'09 or iMovie'11 - I see no other working solution
    • Never MOVE or alter any folder named
    iMovie Projects - or -
    iMovie Events
on DeskTop/Finder - This might be very harmful
    • Moving (Projects) and Events - HAS TO be done within the iMovie Application.
You've got an Evets window and here You can view Your Events in two ways - Yearly - or - Yearly per Hard disk
Here You can move within this "window" to another location
    • Projects - NO they do not contain Your full movie - only a document on howto use the material in Event folder
and there might be worse if You added Photos from iPhoto and Audio from iTunes/Garageband - then You have
to get this over to the second Mac too, to be able to continue editing.
So to move Your projects to another Mac You need
    • iMovie'09 or 11
    • an external hard disk -
MUST BE Mac OS Extended formatted - as UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange will not work for VIDEO
Should be a FireWire one - as UBS/UBS2 performs badly when used for video
    • Then move/copy over within Project resp Events window in iMovie Application
Hopefully I've been not to confusing or badly structured to be followed.
    Yours Bengt W

I have an issue trying to combine data from several tables. I need help trying to compute the "Total Hours", "Max Pressure" ,"Average Pressure" while displaying the "Manufacturer",
"Part Type" , "Serial Number", "District", "Status","Truck Type",and "truck number" for a certain Part on all Trucks. I need to be able check and see if the serial number was on
a particular job and calculate the hours of that serial number if it was on that job and the jobdate falls between the install date and removal date. Ive tried but keep getting either
repeating rows, total hrs of the truck instead of the serial number. Ive considered doing a pivot to display it but have been having trouble putting it together.

I need help connecting my iPhone to computer

    Howdy sprinklemk,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the iPhone User Guide, it answers your question about how to connect your iPhone to your computer and provides additional information that you may find helpful.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
You may need to connect iPhone to your computer in order to complete activation. Connecting iPhone to your computer also lets you sync photos and other content to iPhone from your computer, using iTunes. See Sync with iTunes on page 18.
To use iPhone with your computer, you need:
An Internet connection for your computer (broadband is recommended)
A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, and one of the following operating systems:
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
Connect iPhone to your computer. Use the Lightning to USB Cable (iPhone 5 or later) or 30-pin the other device.
    Cheers,
    -Jason

  • Need help moving from PSE6 on Computer A to PSE8 on Computer B

They are both on a network.
It looks like I could use backup and restore but it seems that I have to copy my files twice....once to backup and once to restore.  Is there an easier way to just copy them across the network?
Also, I want to retain all of my catalog and tagging info.  Do I need to upgrade anything first on COmputer A, or will the act of doing backup and restore (if I use that method) work when the files start to be used by PSE8?
Computer A is a Windows XP.  Computer B is Windows 7.
    Thanks for your help.

Backup and restore will work. Always a good idea to have backups. Not sure why "I have to copy my files twice" is a problem, its the computer doing the work, not you.

  • Need help hooking up Maxent 42" Plasma to mac mini

i have a newly acquired maxent 42" plasma product number mx42xm11 i called their rep and he said it wouldnt work but i have read a couple forums where people have gotten other maxent monitors to work i was wondering if someone could help me set this one up.

    I searched and found this:
    Input/Output connections
    2 x Composite video input (RCA phono), 1 x DVI-HDCP (24 pin digital DVI), 2 x S-Video input (4 pin mini-DIN), 2 x HD component input (RCA phono x 3), 1 x VGA input (15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15)), 6 x Audio line-in (RCA phono x 2), 1 x Subwoofer output (RCA phono), 1 x Audio line-out (RCA phono x 2), 1 x VGA output (15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15)), 1 x Serial (9 pin D-Sub)
It looks as simple as connecting a standard VGA cable from the Mini to the VGA port. It also listed the resolution as 1024x768, which is a standard 4:3 resolution.
You could also try a DVI cable as long as your DVI input looked similar to tha back of your Mini.
    Where would you need help?

  • NEED HELP...mainly with re-setting up my router

This is really complicated (I think) so bare with me, please.
I have a Wireless router, WRT546, Geek Squad had to set it up for me (unfortunately, this tells you my level of wireless knowledge).  All was fine until:
There was an interruption in my phone service...mind you...DSL and wireless were fine at the time.
AT&T fixed the phone problem (crossed wire at station) then NO DSL/NO Wireless icon in taskbar.
I called and their tech had me do start, run, cmd, ipconfig, something like /release and /renew.  ???  She set up a temporary connection for me.  Still no wireless or icon.
Next morning, my icon was there!  ???  It said I had a connection so I unplugged the DSL cable and reconnected it to the router.
As of now, I DO have wireless but have to connect thru the temp connection she gave me.  Connection runs slower and there are only 3 green lights on the router.
AT&T say they 'CAN'T' help me.
I don't know what to do to go back to my old configurations....So there are 4 green lights on router and so I don't have to manually connect to the internet.
Please help.  Is there any way I can do this myself?  Please give step-by-step directions and talk as if you were talking to a real 'dummie'.  (I'm not really)  I want to make sure I still have my secure connection, too.
    Thank you so much!
    Annie~

If you have a username and password from AT&T, you're probably a PPPoE. Just access the Web-Interface of the router (http://192.168.1.1) and set your Internet Connection Type to PPPoE then input your username and password.

  • Connecting an older computer to my wireless router.

My wireless router is connected to my work computer which is in the same room as my own personal computer. I can hard wire the two together since they are only a few feet apart, but my older computer only has a phone line connection. Are there cables with a ethernet plug on one end and a phone line size plug on the other, or what do I have to do to hard wire these together. My older computer, which still works just fine for my personal needs does not have wireless capability so I was hoping somehow I could hard wire this to the router. Any help is much appreciated.

Also, does the older computer support USB?  (Don't laugh; there's a method to the suggestion!)  Even if, for some reason, there's no room to mount a wired or wireless network adapter inside the computer, there's nothing stopping you from using a USB network adapter (wired or wireless) to connect to the same computer.  Since there are USB wireless network adapters available (wireless-b, wireless-G, and wireless-N, as well as multi-protocol), do give serious consideration to having one or more around (if for no other reason than as spares); I'm looking to pick up one or two such USB adapters for my two-computer all-wired network (the router is a WRT54GS V.2, but may shortly be replaced with a WRT-310N for additional range and wired gigabit support).  I've had my GS since 2005, and I'm very happy with it.

I never advise people to use there computer (Apple or Windows) as a router. Computers do not make good routers but they are good computers. Use your computer as a computer and get a cheap router to do your routing. If you use your computer as a router keep in mind that it must always be on in order for others to connect through it.
