Thankyou

hi Baz,
not many MSI boards are compatible with that cooler, just happens i was looking at it yesterday, this is the AMD Compatability List
http://www.zalman.co.kr/product/cooler/7000(AB)_462MBlist_eng.htm
And the Intel
http://www.zalman.co.kr/product/cooler/7000(AB)_478MBlist_eng.htm
you can see on the intel board that it interferes with the board, becuase of all the capacitors around the edge,

  • I need help importing navigation bars and rollover buttons from fireworks?

I need help importing navigation bars and rollover buttons from fireworks, drop down menus and rollover states won't work!
    Thanks

In my experience, the code created by graphics apps is less than satisfactory. And image based menus are very awkward for several reasons.
#1 If you decide to change your menu later, you must go back to your graphics app and re-craft the whole thing.  After 2-3 times of this, it gets old in a hurry.
#2 Image based menus cannot be "seen" by search engines, screen readers and language translators.
#3 CSS styled text menus are better for your site's visibility, accessibility and they are a snap to edit in Dreamweaver.
That said, if you're still married to image based menus, use Fireworks to create images only. Use Dreamweaver's Image Rollover Behaviors to create your rollover scripts.

  • I Need Help Importing my Contacts Onto my New (old) Palm phone.

I need to import my contacts onto my Palm Centro. As of now, they are in a .csv file. When I select import from the Palm Desktop file menu and browse for my contact file, it shows the file grayed out. Even if I instruct the program to allow all file types, it doesn't work. I've read that the Centro needs a .aba file- but I can't find a converter that works.
I'm on a Mac but it has OSX and Windows 7, so I can use any program/service that you guys can suggest. Even if you don't know a program that can do what I need, I also want to know definitively what file format my Palm Centro wants these contacts.
I know this is an old phone, but there must be a way to do this (and avoid typing in 400+ contacts).
    Thanks very much in advance!

The answer to (1) is yes. for OSX, there hasn't yet been a full-number release (they're all v10). Point releases come out every couple years or so, and usually cost about $130. So if you had 10.4 and wanted to upgrade to 10.5, you'd have to buy it. But updated numbers after the second point are free. So if you have 10.5, then 10.5.5 is a free download.
Question (2) I'm less sure about, but I would guess that all of those games would probably work. They don't list the particular video card in the Macbook as "Supported", but it's newer than the cards listed. All the other requirements are met.
From the requirements listed, I would guess that "medal of honor war chest" is a PPC game, which means it will probably run on the Intel Macbook, but under emulation. I think usually the newer Intels are fast enough that running PPC stuff under emulation should be fine, but I don't do much of that so I can't speak from experience.
I sometimes install Windows on a second partition on my Macs so I can dual boot, just for games. So there's that option too.

  • NEED Help Importing new Activities.

    Hi All,
I am working on a project where I have been asked to add two new activities to all the 841 WBS codes belonging to the project. That means I have to add around 1600 new activities. So instead of going through the tedious task of adding those manually, I was wondering if there was an easier way like importing from Excel or anything else to do this. I need to finish this within this week, so I need help urgently.
    Please Help

You can absolutely add new activities in via Excel import however how much easier this ultimately is depends on the structure of your project (ActIds, Codes, Relationships, etc) and the underlying data to be added.
In a large project I have some exposure to Excel is used frequently to make activity level additions/changes, but the schedulers spent a decent amount of time early in the project re-naming activity ID's for grouping purposes (I believe specifically to help with excel imports).
If your additions to each WBS follow any sort of consistent pattern then it may be quicker to use Excel. Even if it ends up not saving much time initially, at the very least you will have a process down for the next time you need to make major changes to your schedule.

  • Need help importing files into Dreamweaver CS5.5

    Greetings,
Currently I have website that is hosted on GoDaddy.com http://www.4thdist.org/home.php  . This site was created by another person that is not available to help with my problem. I am attempting to modify or edit this website using Dreamweaver CS5.5 and having difficulties loading the files into Dreamweaver.
First, using Filezilla I downloaded all the files and folders to my PC. At this point, I am stuck and cannot figure out how to upload or open the files and really need some advice. I read the Adobe help section on "importing" and it describes a .ste file. I searched the download folder and cannot find any file (*.ste)
I am hoping to salvage the site and not have to reinvent the wheel and start over. Any advice would be extrmely helpful........Gary

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Your comments raised some new questions. Let me update all on where I am. First, I am able to connect to GoDaddy server via the the local and remote views in the bottom right corner of DW. I see the file folder structure on GoDaddy. I can also see the file structure on my local hardrive that I copied using filezilla. Although, using the server connection I notice that I can download the files using this connection now. Should I delete what I did via filezilla and start over using the romote server connection? One more problem. I have content for two (2) websites on the remote server. http://www.vfwstatepoolleague.org/ This is in addition to the listed in my original post. Although, it appears the other website content is in a seperate folder. I assume that I will need to separtate this content somehow. At least link to it when I begin to start to create a .ste file for each site.
I started to read the article "Creating your first website"in your post and should be very helpful. I did run into a little road block.
I created (2) site names and linked to the appropriate folder on my hard drive. Although, I do not have: "check_cs5" folder on my local or remote folder. What does that mean? Should I create one?

  • Noob Needs Help - Importing Html Pages into "My Site"

    Greetings
I am sure this is a noob question that may have been asked, but I couldn't find it by searching so here goes.
I jumped right into Dream Weaver, following an online tutorial... and have a decent webpage but I must have skipped some steps or missed something and I would hate to backtrack and do it all over again...
When I began, I just started working on a HTML page... and now that its done, I want to make it a template etc...
But I never created a "site" as far as SITE > NEW SITE etc.
So now that I have, I need to tell DW that "These pages are included... these images are included, all that neat SPRY stuff I have done needs to be "in the site".
I am looking for a button that says, "Hey dummy, you need to select the pages that are included in your site" but can't find it...
    Any help?
    Thanks, in Advance

  • Recorded MPEG-2.  Now confused/need help importing DV or MPEG-4?  Help!

HI there from Buffalo NY and a year-old mac user
I'm using ... a JVC Hard disk camcorder (GZ-MG20U) which records in MPEG-2 format. iMovie HD 5.0.2 won't accept these files when I try to import, so I'm using the software that came with the camera (Capty MPEG Edit EX for Everio 1.3.0) to import. Capty allows me to create files in the following formats: MPEG System Stream, MPEG Elementary Stream, DV Stream and Quicktime stream. It further divides Quicktime into MPEG-4, 3G or Quicktime Movie.
I figured I should import in DV because I can use that with iMovie (and then eventually with iDVD, which, reading these boards I've learned will simply turn my files back to MPEG-2s). Unfortunately, the files are way too large for my computer... I had about 20 gigs free when I started, and now, maybe 90 minutes into importing, I'm down to 1/2 a gig.
My goal is essentially just putting home videos on the DVD. Of course, I'm looking for quality to be brilliant, but realize I'll have to make sacrifices...
    I guess my question(s) is/are:
Is it my best option to import these files as MPEG-4's, edit them in iMovie, output to iDVD and so on...? How will my picture quality be? I guess I'm asking because I don't really understand where all of the conversions are happening, and I'm wondering if my final DVD will be a poorer quality picture that when I still have the footage on my hard disk camcorder and hook it up to my TV's A/V jacks and watch it that way.
    Thoughts?
    CHRIS

    Hi Cjbee,
    welcome to this board...
iMovie is a video edit app meant to work with firewire connected miniDV camcorders
so, you miss the convenience of "plug'n work" with you camera (iM imports directly from tape, hte fw protocol allows remote control of any camera, etc)
    b) any mpeg is a playback-only format; it looks pretty well in ... ehm, playback, but the edit options are very, very basic (tech bubble: you can just edit from/to next G.O.P. … tech speak off) AND is not supported by iM... => needs conversion => loss of pic quality
that's no lack of your Mac, but mpegs don't store every frame of a video (30 frames per second), so, a computer has to "estimate" content… so, me personally don't understand the "idea" of any dvd-corder.....?
iM's native format is dv; avoid lossy inbetween steps, if your software allows direct conversion, choose that; iM has an import command or you drag'n drop the large .dv files into iM's window/timeline/clip pane.
you DON'T safe disk space by using other formats! in case you go mpeg2=>mp4 (which is smaller), you a) loose quality b) iM will convert it anyhow (and needs additional temp disk space for conversion too…)
    next hurdle to go:
your Mac needs at last 15 - 20 GB FREE disk space for doing videoDVDs...//iDVD will start to behave odd with not enough space for lots of temp files..../any app will freeze your Mac, if you go under some free disk space...
    summary:
    * don't buy/use dvd corders
    * mpegs needs conversion into dv
    * dv and dvd creation needs LOTS of disk space
    * buy an ext., firewire connected harddisk for storage any large folders/files (iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie), format it correctly before usage.......

  • Need help  - Ethernet question for DSL

Hi, hoping someone can help me. We are looking into getting Verizon DSL internet, and don't know if we have the Ethernet specifications. We have a flat screen 17" iMac 1Ghz, Dh said he knows we have an ethernet connection but doesn't know about the card. What Verizon says we need is a "10-Base-T Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC)". How would I find out if we have this? (We are not eligible for the 24hr online chat support and I don't want to pay $49+ for one question)! Thanks,
    Erica

    Tom & Erica,
You should have very little trouble connecting with Verizon. I have multiple Verizon accounts and they have always been very helpful in getting you set up, even if they need to come out to test/adjust the line-in to your home. You will get a package from them which will include DSL modem, filters, cables and so on.
Don't hesitate to call them for help in setting it up - BUT, tell them at your first opportunity that you are running on a Mac. They will switch you immediately to a Mac person who can walk you thru just about any OS configuration.
And no I don't work for Verizon...Just Kidding
    GOOD LUCK
    John
Oh, of course you will want to call Verizon and have them test the line prior to/or at the time of your order. They can do that while you are on the line with them and at no charge.

  • I need help importing Videos in Encore CS3 (running on a Mac)

I want to make a DVD with Encore CS3 (running on a Mac).
    I've never used Encore before.
I want to import movie files as Assets.
The only files I've had any luck importing are .mov files (exported by Quicktime Pro).
The movies I want to import are .AVI and .MP4 files.
    When I import .AVI files I receive an error message saying;
'The Software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. Installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem.'
When I import .MP4 files I don't get any error massages but encore recognizes each file as an audio file (Type: Audio File).
When I drag the .MP4 files into the timeline and view them in the monitor I receive sound but not picture.
It seems to me like I'm missing an important codec but I don't have a clue what to do.
Please reply ASAP I need to make a DVD for my Dad.

Encore likes to work with DVD-compliant files, like DV-AVI, MPG2 (transcoded to DVD specs), PCM-WAV files and the like. MOV files are usually handled pretty well too, as you have seen.
Your AVIs are probably DivX encoded, or similar, and you'll need to install the DivX CODEC (free for the PC, but have no clue about the MAC). Those are also heavily compressed files, and when you transcode before burning the DVD, they'll be re-compressed more. The quality might suffice, but they will not look good.
I do not know file format conversion programs for the MAC, but there are a ton of freeware, shareware and full-commercial ones available. DigitalMediaConverter (for PC) is ~US$40 and works well with a lot of different files in different schemes, both Audio & Video. You still need the proper CODECs on your machine to decode and then the proper CODECs to encode during the conversion. It might take some Googling, but you should be able to find both the file conversion programs and the necessary CODECs on the Web.
On PC, I use a little freeware program, G-Spot, to tell me all the details of any problem file. It might be available for MAC, but I do not know. It won't convert, or fix your files, or your system, but will tell you almost anything you'll need to know, especially the CODEC used and if your system has that one installed.
Good luck, and sorry that I know nothing of the software available for the MAC.

  • Need Help Importing EDL!

    Hi All,
I am working on an edit where we received DigiBeta tapes and an EDL Disk from Europe. We have captured all the DigiBeta footage, and are now trying to piece together the rough edit that also came with it (which we have captured).
The files on the EDL Disk are:
    VAI1.EDL
    VAI2.EDL
    E08.SS2
    E08.SU2
Unfortunately we cannot as of yet determine what editing system the EDL comes from. All I know is that Final Cut Pro 5 does NOT like it.
So I have two questions. First, based on the file names above, can anyone tell where this came from? I am hoping the SS2 and SU2 files are a clue..
And second, as I guess I'm going to edit these EDL files by hand, I need to figure out what means what in the file. Below is the first 20 or so lines of the first EDL, hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction. I am a little confused as to what some of this means - for example, I know that something like a Dissolve needs multiple lines - the source before and after - but what is "FM" and why does it need 4 lines? And the A3A4 at the end of some lines seems uncessary? Etc..
Any help will be MUCH MUCH appreciated!
    Best,
    Jason

This (just a guess) looks like a Grass Valley (or GVG) list.
The way you'll have to convert it is to export a CMX 3600 list from FCP and note the column positions of the data. You can load the edl you want to convert into a text editor along with one line of the CMX 3600 list. Make the font be a monospaced font (Monaco or Courier are options), then align the columns.
The A3 and A4 on the end will have to be lopped off. If you really need something specifically from A3 or A4, this is handled as comments in a CMX 3600 list. You'll have to look at an example CMX 3600 list for the format.
EDIT: a little more research makes this look less likely to be a GVG list, see:

    Also, check this software: http://www.cuibono-soft.com/Downloads/Demos/demos.html
They have a demo - but you need a PC or virtual PC to run it...

  • Need help importing iTunes songs!

When I try to import from iTunes, Garage band says: 'Open iTunes to populate this list', or 'Loading iTunes music' but it never loads tracks. Ive uninstalled GarageBand already, didnt fix the problem (I also have the updated version of both apps). This feature used to work but it doesn't any more. Any help on how to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like the Media Browser can't find the iTunes Library, and that it is probably a problem with iTunes and not with Garageband.
Do you have the latest Version 10.4.1 of iTunes installed? If not, I would recommend to update to the newest iTunes Version.
And check, if other Applications (like iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto, iWorks) can see iTunes in the Media Browser.
If not, then make sure that the settings in the iTunes Preferences -> Advanced are pointing to the correct location of your Library.
By default the Library should be located in your Music Folder
        /Users/your user name/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music
If the Library location settings should be wrong, then correct the settings, and restart both iTunes and Garageband.
If your iTunes  Library is on an external disk, the media Browser mignt not find it.Then just - in iTunes - reveal the song in the Finder, by ctrl-clicking it, and drag it from the Finder into your Garageband window.
If your iTunes Library is on an internal disk and still the Media Browser can't see it, then check the permissions of the Library and run a disk check with disk utility and repair the disk, if need be.
