Need help in choosing ideal career path

Sir/Madam,
I have done two PG's
MBA with Specialization in Human Resource Management (correspondence Mode)
M.Com with Specialization in Financial Analysis (University Campus / Regular)
And I have experience in Field Operations Department as Team Leader for three years
Now I'm in a bit confusion, in choosing ideal career path
Weather to go with HR or Finance side
And I wish/plan to do SAP module
The question which is making making my brain come out is, in present market situation and with future perspective...
Which path (HR or Finance) have better growth, pay scale & future...
Please help me... I'll be waiting for your invaluable suggestions and information...
Thanks a million in advance..

I have written an article on IT toolbox which gives folks new to SAP an idea of what a typical career path looks like. It can be found at http://it.toolbox.com/wiki/index.php/Advice_for_Recent_College_Graduates_(aka_%22Freshers%22).
Here's the short version
college > entry level non-SAP job (3-5 years) > entry level job as SAP end user (3 to 5 years)  > SAP training and/or SAP certification (on the job or nights & weekends)  > entry level SAP configuration job (1 to 3 years) > at this point you can branch to either entry level SAP consulting or to mid level SAP configuration with a company.
You seem to be at step two of the process. It's time for you to look for a job and an end user with a company that is either already running SAP or is in the process of implementing SAP. If you are extremely lucky and land a job with a company in the process of implementing and they're willing to include you on the implementation team as someone who knows the business processes in general but not SAP, then you can shortcut a bit, but that involves a bit of luck.
Please don't choose your future career based on what random folks tell you the future is in a forum. Regardless of anyone's predictions, the correct choice is the area about which you feel most passionate.  Neither HR nor FI are going away any time soon, so your passion for one topic or the other will drive you to learn more and become a vital part of any company you join. Passion is the key.
I hope this helps!
Best regards,

  • Need help changing the default Save Path

    Hello,
We are implementing SAP, and will be using Citrix as the source for the GUI.  One of our requirnments are, that we need to change the default "Save Path" that users save documents too.   By default, this is to the C drive, but, we need it set to a different drive (i.e. V: on the citrix server).
We found this note on SDN (see below) - however, it does not explain how to change or add this registry value?  Is this done in the GUI options, or in regedit?  If in reg-edit, where abouts in the tree does it go?
Thanks guys, and any help would be greatly appriciated.
    Richard
(As of SAP GUI 7.20, patch level 4) the REG_EXPAND_SZ registry value InitSaveDir can be used to configure the default path and folder for users to save the reported information in case of an access denial due to security rules. If users change the default path and save the information to an individual location, this new path will be kept as long as the user does not terminate the program. When starting SAP GUI again, users will get the configured default path again to store the reported information, the individual path changes will be lost. If the registry value does not exist, the default directory is the document directory of the SAP GUI.
By default none of the above registry values exists. In order to change the behavior of the security module, the registry values need to be created and set to the desired value. A not existing registry value means use the default.
    In this doc:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/002444be-7018-2d10-e18e-a8c537198ef6?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true

    Hi,
"Security rules that are created for a large number of users can be centrally stored on a server by an administrator. The administrator can use the registry values below under the registry key
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SAP\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\Security]
to configure the behavior of the security module.
Note: For 64 bit operating systems please use the following registry key
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\Security]
to configure the behavior of the security module."
You can use regedit for installing this values.

  • Need help with choosing a 6 cell and 9 cell battery (mo06, mo09)

    Hey hi all,
I have a pavilion m6 series notebook which comes with mo06(6 cell) battery by default.
I need to replace the battery with a new one and I've come across a mo09 (9 cell) battery with the same price as that of mo06.
I've no idea if mo09 batteries can be used instead of mo06.
If anyone who knows anything about this please help me choose.

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-103-910&depa=1
my question is, is this a good PSU?  it's going for roughly $100 and i'm willing to pay around that much.  can someone tell me if this is a good choice, or any other recommendations? thanks in advance!
btw, my specs are below in my sig...

LOL...you ol fartin' son-of-a-gun!!!! We gotta be supportive to all here - no favorites. But if I had to make choices, you're the first one I'd help build one!!!! Feel better now ....you 'ol Salty Dog?

  • Hard Drive Crash - need help with choosing new drive and installation

My hard drive seems to have crashed. My computer froze, and when I tried to reboot, it got stuck at the startup screen. I started from the system CD, ran the disk repair utility, and it said it could not repair the disk. I ran Tech Tool Pro and it could not repair the disk. I tried to start up in Target disk mode while connected to my older G4 iMac (that I'm using now as my backup), and the disk would not mount. So I need some expert advice - I am assuming the hard drive is toast. I wish I could at least mount it in target disk mode to transfer files, but I haven't been able to do that. I was going to take it in for repair (or possibly buy a new computer), but after reading some of the posts here, I am thinking I could just replace the internal hard drive with a 3.5" SATA drive.
What I need to know is am I correct about this? And is this the right kind of drive for my iMac? Are there any specifications I need to be aware of when ordering a new drive? I downloaded the manual explaining how to replace the drive and it looks doable. I would appreciate any guidance as to choosing the new drive (specific brand names/models would be great), installing the drive, and tips for formatting, etc. Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to Discussions - any 3 1/2" SATA drive will be fine, go to [macsales.com] or [smalldog.com] or [newegg.com] and choose whichever drive fits your wallet. Most of them are reliable, I have heard of problems with Seagate and Hitachi, but there are always some failures with any brand. Make sure to get a good warranty.Instructions will come with the drive, but you can download them from [Apple|http://www.apple.com/support/manuals/imac> as well.

  • Need help to choose a DAQ for simultaneous sampling

We need to choose a DAQ for simultaneous sampling. The restrictions are:
    a) 2 channels
    b) The signals on both channels are not continuous. A valid input on the channels is signaled by a falling edge in a third line that can be used as a trigger.
    c) The rate of these signals can be up to 50000 per second but they do not arrive in a periodic way.
    d) The timing:
The trigger is a pulse of 600 ns
The signals on the channels are stable 200ns before the leading edge of the trigger pulse and remain stable for 900ns.
We have seen the PCI-6143 but we are not sure if it is the best choice.
    We have some questions:
    1) Does the 6143 fulfill the timing requirements ?
    2) Is it posible and easy to set the board to take one sample after the trigger ?
    3) Is there a better choice than the 6143 to solve the problem ?
    4) Can we solve this problem programming in VB or VC++ and using the software that comes with the board or do we need to buy extra libraries ?

    1) Does the 6143 fulfill the timing requirements ?
Yes, the 6143 should fulfill these requirements. It has a 250 KS/s sampling rate per channel which should give you 5x oversampling at the 50 kHz maximum bandwidth you indicated. The minimum delay from the recognition of the trigger to the first sample on this board is 100 ns which falls within the 900 ns window.
    2) Is it posible and easy to set the board to take one sample after the trigger ?
It's not clear to me whether you want to take a single sample after a trigger and stop or use the trigger as an external sample clock to acquire several samples at the rate of the trigger. In either case, it's possible and relatively easy to do so. The only quirk is that the minimum number of samples to acquire for a hardware timed acquisition is two samples. This means if you really only want one point after the trigger, you'll have to setup the hardware to acquire two samples and then throw the second one away in software.
    3) Is there a better choice than the 6143 to solve the problem ?
This seems like a pretty solid choice for the application you described. However, you didn't mention what the amplitude of your input signals are. The 6143 has a fixed +/- 5 volt range. If this isn't sufficient, you'll have to provide signal conditioning or choose a board with a wider input range. Also, I'm assuming your trigger signal is a TTL signal. If it's an analog signal, you'll want to choose a board with an analog trigger circuit (the 6143 doesn't have an analog trigger). The PCI-6111 is a 2 channel board with a +/- 42 volt input range, an analog trigger, a 5 MS/s sampling rate, and will also meet all of your requirements. The only down side of the 6111 is that it is more expensive and is a 12 bit converter instead of 16 bit. The PCI-6120 has even more functionality than the 6111 and has a 16 bit converter at 800 KS/s. PXI has some more simultaneous offerings, but I'm assuming you want to stick with PCI. You can also check out some of our modular instrument offerings such as the PCI-5102. I'm not as familiar with the modular instruments, so you'll have to check out the specs for yourself. Whether there is a better choice or not is pretty subjective. That will depend on how much you're willing to spend for the features and specs you really care about. From the information you provided, the 6143 will be the lowest cost solution that meets the requirements you specified.
    4) Can we solve this problem programming in VB or VC++ and using the software that comes with the board or do we need to buy extra libraries ?
The DAQmx driver provides interfaces to both of these programming environments at no extra cost.

  • Need Help on choosing Color Laser Printer

    Hello Everyone;
I am strugling to decide which Laser Colour Printer to buy, and I need some advice; I have the following options so far:
    HP 2605dn
    Brother HL-4070CDW
    Oki C3400n
I only found here reviews for the HP, and they were mostly all negative, a lot of users complaining about the speed when printing in color.
But couldn't find reviews for the other two, only posts regarding the lack of drivers for them. Is there anyone who have used the above printers on a Mac succesfully?
Any comment would help. Can anyone review the Oki and/or the Brother printer?
This is what I need from my printer:
    Relatively fast on a Mac
Duplex (is not a must but would be nice)
Wireless Printer (again is not a must, but it would be awesome)
    Color printing
Basically I will use it at home for personal use: newsletters, some documents, etc.
    Many Thanks!

Take a look at the Canon line. By that, I mean the output.

  • I need help on choosing the main board

    hey guys
    i want  some help
Is it worth changing my mother board to a KT6delta FISR
    Present Mother Board-------KT3 ultra ARU

That would depend upon whether you need/want the extra features of the KT6 Delta FISR. The KT3 board you have should be capable of handling up to the 3000+ @ 333FSB with the latest BIOS & PC2700.
If the SATA and other extras of the KT6 are what you are looking for, then yes. If you are just wanting to add a faster CPU, the KT3 can handle almost as fast as the KT6.

  • Need help solving this tricky connect paths problem!

I need to convert a bunch of separate paths  in particular way so they create one single continuos path as shown in the attached PNG file.
It has me stumped. Does anyone know of a way to do this via scripting?

How often do you need to do this? I think that a script which would work properly may be more work than is worth the time.
I'm sure something like this could be done, but the real problem would be what would the next group of lines that you run the script on look like? Would a script that works for this circumstance work properly for another shape?
Here's some parameters to think about:
How do you determine which line segments (or endpoints) in the document need to be connected? All points in the document, or will you be working with a selection?
Once you determine the points (eliminating all that are already connected), how do you want them connected, and which point do you start with? Connect to the closest available point would seem what you want, but depending on how you determine which point to start with could give you different results.
You might want to loop through all eligible points, and save the distance to every other point into an array. Then, loop through connecting the 2 closest available points until you've connected every point.

  • Need help in chooseing

    Hi all
I am debating weather or not to purchases a MacBook or a MacBook Pro. I need your advice on what I should get.
    I am coming from Ubuntu/Windows.
My needs and general programing, word possessing, web design possible gaming, photo editing and storage and possible video editing.
Plus I don't want to get something that will be underpowered adn out of date in 6 months.
    I anxiously await your input.
    Thanks

from what you describe the macbook is probably fine
but if the gaming/photo editing/video editing are going to be high frame rates/large files/hd video then the mbp might be handy
i still use my 1.67ghz powerbook as well as a 2.4ghz mbp, for day to day tasks there's really not much difference, but for rendering animation and rendering/transcoding hd video the mbp is much faster
the difference between the macbook/mbp is going to be a lot smaller, unless you need the bigger display and extra ports of the mbp then the macbook is probably going to be much better value
but i'm not into gaming so the faster/better graphics of the mbp might matter for you there
as to underpowered/out of date, everything on the market will be out of date in a few months, but either mac should give you several years service, system power won't be an issue unless you significantly change usage patterns
fwiw i'm on my second powerbook, i replace every 3-ish years as that's the limit on applecare service, but the 500mhz tibook i bought early in 2001 is still being used happily by the friends i gave it to and runs current office/email/surfing applications perfectly well
