Need help in DVD SP version 1.5.2

I know that I have a very old verson of DVD Studio Pro, and will purchase the new Final Cut Studio when I purchase a G5, BUT I have a quick question.
I am using iMovie 6 and I am trying to export in the expert mode as a MPEG-2 file, so I and import my (.AIF) and (.M2V) files into DVDSP 1.5.2.
I was able to do this without any problem when I was using iMovie 5, but in 6, when I export in exactly the same way as before, iMovie6 quits.
Can anyone out there help and let me know what I can do to make this work?

Not sure how you have the system set up or if you can make a boot FW disc with your older OS, but there was MPEG encoding capabilites via Quicktime with DVD 1.5, but I would also guess the "Pro" key or equivalent would be knocked out. You could also get a QT Pro Ket to unlock the export, and it should allow export direct from QT (but not 100%)
Do you have iMovie still on the disc to try that?
Is direct from QT on your machine?
You may also want to try a reinstall of iMovie 6 & repair permissions. Have you also tried a new user account?

Desperately needs help burning DVD from iPhoto

I am using iPhoto 6.0.6. I desperately need help burning a DVD of a slide show that I created for my daughter's wedding.
I put several songs together by opening them and then combining them using QuickTime Pro. I imported the audio into iTunes and created a slide show using iPhoto. The slide show is perfect! The slides are finally in sink with the music just as I want them! But I don't know how to burn the slide show as a DVD.
I tried exporting the video from iPhoto to my computer, but at the end of the export, I get this message: please note that the music included in the slideshow can only be played on authorized machines. And when I try to play the video (after the export), most of the music on the video cannot be heard. When I try to authorize my machine, I am told that it's already authorized.
If someone would send detailed instructions on how to proceed, I would greatly appreciate it.

Is your problem the DRM audio tracks you purchased from iTunes store?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Need Help with DVD recorder (HDMI) to record off DVR

I purchased a philips dvd recorder a few years ago and need help in setting up to record my DVR program recordings. The philips user manual is not very helpful being I'm trying to set-up with just using HDMI cables. I have a HDTV (Vizio) with a HDMI port; a DVD recorder with HDMI port and my Verizon set-top box have a HDMI port. How do i get it all to work and be able to record/copy programs from DVR to my DVD recorder? Do anyone have suggestions on how to set up wiring. Thanks.

First keep in mind that DVD is not an HD format, so you will not be able to record HD shows in HD; they will be in letterboxed 4:3.
The FiOS STB only has one HDMI (out) port. Therefore, you will need to use some other output from the STB to the DVD recorder. Component, or even composite/RCA, because it's not going to record in HD anyway to DVD, will work just fine. Then you want to set your DVD player to whatever input you used to connect from the STB; i.e. mine uses "Input 1" for my composite connection.
If you turn on your STB and DVD, this will record whatever the STB is outputting to a DVD if you press record on the DVD recorder. This includes all of the program menus and any other on-screen graphics on the STB, and this means you cannot change the channel if you are recording from your STB. You can shut your TV off, but you will not be able to watch another show while recording one to DVD.
Your DVD player might give you an HDCP message at first when the recording starts if it's getting an HD input, but that should go away after a few seconds, at least for my Panasonic DVD recorder with a composite connection.

Need help unregistering an old version of PSE

I need to install PSE 6, but it is currently showing as being registered on two now-dead computers. After going through phone and online chat, I find out that support is only available through the forums. Can someone remove the registration?

First of all are you getting any sort of error to stop you from installing it? PSE 6 mostly didn't have activation, so if you haven't tried, do so.

Need help with DVD model/Firmware update info

I am sorry to post here but have found no other way to try and get help or information about a Toshiba, (supposedly) slim style internal DVDRW unit, TS-632H, for our computer. The label on the unit says Toshiba Samsung, and the complete number on the label is Tsst corp CDDVDW TS-632-H. (This is what is also shows in Device Manager/Properties for the unit. We are trying to find the (real) model of this unit so we can determine the firmware version to make sure we have the latest version on the unit and to see if there are any specific drivers for the unit. Thank you for your help and again, sorry if this may be the wrong forum and maybe directing us to an appropriate forum would be appreciated if there is such one. Thank you.

Might try resetting the preferences
Restore all preferences to default settings
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings.
New Preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.

I need help with the upgraded version of Garage Band '11. Its totally different.

I am incredibly frustrated with the newest version of Garage Band. I am a choreographer and constantly need to edit music. The work I do is very simple. Just cutting sections of music to make the songs shorter. I have been using Garage Band for years with total ease. I used to be able to just highlight a section of music and click delete. Now all that does is either stretch out all the timing or delete the whole track. I need simple cut edits. PLEASE HELP!!! The help sections do not help at all!

Got the PC put together and WinXP loaded with no problems, loaded several programs using both the DVD and CDRW. I had some issues with Microsoft Picture It and Norton WinDoctor, this was a known issue and I downloaded a fix from MS that removes a registry entry so windoctor will be happy. I've done this before on my other xp pc's with no problems. All of a sudden when I put a program disk into either the DVD or CDRW I get an error message saying windows cannot read from this disk, it is corrupt or incorrectly formatted. If I put in an audio cd both drives will work. I've checked the device manager and no errors that I see there, both drives are detected in the bios and properly listed by windows. I've downloaded the latest MDAC update (2.8), now if I have a game disk in the drive and reboot windows will be able to read the disk. if I open the drive and close or replace with another disk then I get the error message again. I don't think it's a problem with the drives. they're brand new and it's unlikely both will fail at the same time plus I have gotten them to work. The problem now is if I go to change a disk windows cannot read the disk unless I reboot with the disks in. It's gotta be a windows problem but everything looks to be working as it should, any ideas??

Well, you could try doing a crc check of the cd using crc.exe. It's been of great use to me recently.
open up a command window, switch to the directory where you've extracted crc.exe and run (change x to your cd/dvd drive letter):
crc x:

Hello, I have installed the Creative Cloud and Lightroom CC three days ago (version d'essai).
When I try to start Lightroom CC, I get a window with a countdown saying "28 days left", and at the bottom of this window there is a "pursue the evaluation" click button, but when I click on it (to start using Lightroom), nothing happens. I have not been able to launch the app for the last 2 days!

Here are some system info : I'm using a LENOVO YOGA 2, Windows 8.1, Intel Core i7, 64 bits.
In fact, the Creative Cloud applications did not unexpectedly revert to trial mode because I did ask for a trial version. At the time, it was the first time I installed Lightroom on my computer (a new computer) and I wanted to test the new Creative Cloud & its applications for photographers (Lightroom 6 and Photoshop).

Need help with installing old version of firmware

I would like to revert to an old version of firmware for my Airport Extreme base station. I have read in a number of postings that this would possibly help with the problem of my Canon Pixma ip3000 not working after the firmware was usdated. When I tried to install the old firmware, the Installer would not allow it, there was just a message that the software was up to date. Could anyone please give a step by step description of how this can be done? Is there a way around the Installer? Thanks.

The firmware supplied with the base station was 4.1. After installing it, everything worked just fine, including wireless printing to a Canon Pixma ip3000. At one point, after being prompted by a message onscreen to upgrade to 4.2, I did the download and installation, and that is when all the problems started. No wireless printing, and I can't seem to use the Airport Admin or Assistant (not responding). Since then I have also upgraded the OS to 10.4.5.
I am trying to downgrade to 4.1 since that is what worked initially and what was suggested in another posting I read.
I did look at the information for the various parts of Airport and noticed that the Setup Asistant is 4.2, the Admin Utility is 4.2 and the base station is 5.5.1. Could this be affecting the problem as well?

How do I burn a DVD with 130 pictures in ALBUM ORDER in Elements 10?

If you don’t also have Premiere Elements then you need to create a slideshow (Windows only) from the album and output to a wmv file. Then use Windows Movie maker or Windows DVD Maker.

I didn't mention ITunes store I want to use songs from my iTunes library with a movie I am putting together in iMovie. I have done this many times before with older versions of iMovie. The contents of my iTunes Library will not load into this iMovie version (10.0.5).

I have an ibook G4 with Mac 10.3.9. I accidentally deleted my ichat application (version 2.0) I believe and now can't find a download for that, nor can I download the new version 2.1 since there is no 2.0 found in my applications. What can I do? Is there a 2.0 download out there?

For this you will need your Panther install Disks (and the download of Pacifist).
There is no download of iChat 2.0 The iChat 2.1 is an update of this to download and install.
