I have few questions during the indesign scripting.
Please help me to answer those
1. Targetting two engines.
How to target Illustrator engine when the javascripts is running in indesign engine.
2. Creating text in textframe
How to create a text in textframe and uniquely identifying it for further updation of content of text.
3. Creating form fields in Indesign
How to create form fields in indesign through javascript so that after exporting to PDF it can be modified.
4. Access method
How to access methods defined in start up script from the our own cript folder.

1. I have No Idea what you mean. Do you want an InDesign script "target" illustrator? Try Brigdetalk.
2. Described in the Javascript Tools guide.
3. No amount of scripting will make #3 possible. [*] If you "desperately" need this, write a plugin for it.
4. I'm not sure, but as far as I know nothing special is needed for that. At least, not if your own script shares the same engine. If it doesn't, then there is no way because that's how it is supposed to work, and no amount of scripting can work around that.
[*] Apart from writing a complete PDF engine in Javascript, that is. Based on your other questions, it's a fair bet that's not going to happen any time soon.

- on some chosen page in every text frames, looking from its top to the bottom;
- in a entire document, looking from its beginning to the end, including hidden layers, master pages, footnotes etc...?

You could set app.findTextPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle to your "Style".
Story.findText() gives an array of matches. 1st array's element is a 1st occurence.
so:
Story.findText()[0].appliedParagraphStyle = Style_1;

I am trying to convert my prcess from DTS to SSIS. I am running this report out of SAP and then using Monarch to put into the correct form, then I am using the DTS to put it into the database on the SQL server. I am able to get all the other info to
move out having so much trouble here to get the plant number. The issuse is that it is on top on the page and it will change when a new plant is needed.

I need help wrting a script that will put that 7010 into a cloumn nnamed plant number.To convert from DTS packages to SSIS you can just open the DTS package in a new SSIS project (depends on target SSIS version by using SSDT or BIDS).
The rest is mechanics how the iteration with SAP is done and may be beyond the scope of this forum.

I am working on a book project using Indesign 1.5. I have got a new computer. Installation of the Indesign software was problem free but when i open my book project i have a problem that i can not figure out.
When i put the marker in the middel of a text and pressing the enter tab, to move it down a line, the text after the marker disappear and a red + showing at the bottom of the text box.
I will appresiate it a lot if anyone can give me help with this set up problem!Try pressing the primary Enter key to the right of the Home Row, not the Enter key in the number pad. If that doesn’t work, look at your paragraph spacing options wherever the paragraph formatting is in that version. Space Above or Space Below might be set too high.

I need help installing InDesign CS6 upgrade because on this new computer I cannot install the version that it was upgraded from.
Stevel18 you can install the upgrade to Creative Suite 6 directly. During the installation process you will be asked to enter the serial number of the product which qualifies you to own the upgrade.

Need Help Creating A Script For Labeling Finder Files from Indesign
Trying to figure out a way to have a script run in InDesign CS4 that will label a text file RED after it's been imported into InDesign.
We import numerous text files into an InDesign template. Since there are several text files in the same folder, we need to somehow "mark off" that we've imported that file and move to the next one to import. I have created an Automator "service" with a keyboard shortcut to label the file Red in the finder but it would be great if we could have this happen automatically after we import into InDesign.
If we import the wrong text file by accident and it gets missed in proofing, it costs us a lot of money with the printer.

It works beautifully in IE but not as beautifully in FF and Chrome.
Problem:
By just putting in the adress as above, the coloured boxes do not appear at all. They only appear when I click on the Home link at the top of the page or I type www.energywa.co.za/layout/index.php in the address bar.
It does this on my local machine as well as the server where it is hosted on.
What bugs me is that it works perfect from the writer's site in all 3 browsers. Unfortunately there is no support forum on the site and I have alrwady mailed the writer but had no luck yet.
Can someone please help me? I am in the process of learning JavaScript but can only copy & paste at the moment. ;-)

I eventually got it to work. There is still a lot of clutter in the script which I need to sif through, but it works! I am so relieved. I used the files another person modified (from the link I posted) and changed them here and there.
I also still need to get my menu to the left, but that should be easy.

It works in IE, FF and Chrome.

Need help in creating script for "Task Schedule" in Oracle E-Bussiness Suit
Hi,
I need some urgent help regarding the scripting of Oracle E-Business Suite application. I am new towards working on Oracle Applications. I have been using LoadRunner 11.0 and protocol oracle applications 11i for the scripting of the application. The problem is as follows:
Scenario- Schedule an incident to a resource.
1) Log in to the application.
2) Open Oracle Forms Page.
3) Enter the details of the incident number.
4) Right click on the incident number and then select “schedule” option.
5) Check / Select the resource listed in the new form.
6) Click on “schedule” Button.
7) Exit the oracle forms.
8) Logout from the application.
I have recorded the scenario but when I try to run the script, it fails after completing the 4th step from the scenario mentioned above. I have done all the required co-relations..
Another issue that I have noticed in the scipt is that it records a lot of requests to the AppsTCFServer.
When I check the Tree View of the script, I have found that there are around 25 requests to the AppsTCFServer recorded in the script. In the header of these requests a TCF Start/Session number gets generated randomly. This number stays the same in few AppsTCFServer request headers and then a new number gets generated and the cycle continues.
However LoadRunner does not generate this number by itself during replay. I cannot find this number in any previous responses.
In the last few days, I have tried my hands on Oracle Openscript tool to record the above scenario, but still I am getting the same problem, i.e instead of getting the correct response from the server for the AppsTCFServer requests, I am getting the message "X-session 7098.... not found - aborting ".
I get this message whether I use LoadRunner tool or the OpenScript tool.
Please help me solve this issue.

Soumya MukherjeeThis isn't much of a "code-sharing" site but a "knowledge-sharing" site. Code posted me may be from a questioner who has a problem / issue / error with his code. But we don't generally see people writing entire scripts as responses to such questions as yours. There may be other sites where you can get coding done "for free".
What you could do is to write some of the code and test it and, if and when it fails / errors, post it for members to make suggestions.
But the expectation here is for you to write your own code.

Need help with Java Script to perform a calculation in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 form
I have a form (test) that I am creating in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.
I need help creating custom Java Script so I can get the desired answer.
1) There are several questions in each group that require a numerical answer between 0-4
2) There is a total field set up to sum the answers from all above questions
3) The final "score" takes the answer from Step 2 above and divides by the total possible answer
Any help on what Java Script I need to complete this would be greatly appreciated!

I need help modifying a script in IPCC
I am running UCCX Premium 5.0(2)SR02_Build045. I have a script in place, but need to modify it. Basically a call comes into my main menu and gets distributed to a contact service queue. If no agents are available the call is queued and the caller is prompted to leave a voicemail after 2 mins. If the caller continues to hold they will stay in queue. I need to modify the script so that all callers are dequeued after 15mins. The call can be terminated or routed back to my operator (0). Any help appreciated I am a scripting newbie!
By the red arrow is the QueueTransfersLoop. I need to modify this loop to terminate after 15mins.

You need to drop the get reporting statistic step in some place of the queue loop, in the get reporting statistic step properties you have to choose for the Report Object parameter the one that says "CSQ IPCC Express", in the Field parameter you have to choose "Current Wait Duration", the Row Identifier is a string variable that has the value of the CSQ name and finally Result Statistic is an integer variable that you have to set to 0.
After that you need an if statement, in that step you have to compare the value of the Integer variable with some value, in this case the 15mins that you need (you have to compare the values in seconds). It's better to compare the value with a ".equals()" and also with a ">=" because it could be that the call has being queued a little bit more than 15 mins.
Check the screenshot, that works for me.

Would anyone be willing to help me with a script? I need to Find the first table using "ERTStyle1" table style, convert it to text, change the text style to "Tabfix" paragraph style, then convert it back into a table using the table style "ERTStyle2" convert the top row to a header. It needs to repeat this process until there are no tables left using the "ERTStyle1" table style.
I think I could almost do this myself using VBScript, but I am relatively new to scripting, and to be honest, I am hoping I can use this script to jump start my knowledge of VB in Indesign.So all of this is just to set the column widths to the sizes pre-defined in a paragraph style, i.e., always the same?
I feel like I almost could do that in VB!
But in Javascript, all it needs is sth in the ilk of

Need help with folder level javascript to automate "save button" on a fillable form
I have been racking my brain for the past 6 hours trying to get a simple save button to work.
Background: I am using Acrobat Pro 11 to create a save button on a fillable form. My intent is for the end users (my team of 3, whos computers I have access to) to be able to fill out the form, click save, and have the filename appended with date and other info and saved to a local folder on their machine.
I am attempting to take the default form name i.e. Support Call Log.pdf and have three of the feilds within the form generate a new file name. --> Support Call Log_Brad_121_2015
End users will fill out the form using adobe viwer X.
Instead of putting the code that I have tried, modified, and tried again and again. I would like to ask for a fresh start and then see if I can locate my error after. I need to know what to put in my folder level script, line for line.
I also need to know the correct syntax and format to establish a new file name with the extracted feild data, saved to the same exact file path as the original document.

Cannot open adobe flash in safari
