Hi all,
I need help in installing Jspell SDK software in Oracle Application SERVER 10G 10.1.2.0.2.
Can anybody help me out. Please feel free to share any documentation if available or your experience to install Jspell on Oracle Application Server 10g.

Did you copy the 2 JAR files in your /forms/java directory ?
Did you add them to your /forms/server/formsweb.cfg file (archive_jini tag) ?
As always when a Java Bean is in the game, display the Java Console at runtime to see if any error are raised.

It appears that this EAR utilizes Apache Common Logging and the following import might have been uses in some of the java classes.
import org.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory;
I don't think these can be deployed in Oracle 10gAS as is.

Need help in installing Oracle Application Server 10g Rel Wireless Portion

I am trying to install the OAP and need to enable or configure the wireless portion of it. I got this cpio file from Oracle site (as_linux_x86_101300_disk1.cpio & as_linux_x86_101300_disk2.cpio) and installed the OAP. I don't see any option to enable the wireless portion. runInstaller is showing only the basic installer option ( IntegratedWebserver,J2EE Server,Process Management). I have my OAP server running now and this on RedHat AS3.

Installed Oracle Application Server 10g and Dev. Suite 10g to self practice

Hello,
I have Installed Oracle Application Server 10g and Developer Suite 10g on Windows XP 32.bit to practice Developer suite specially Forms and reports. Server has created the database by default.
My questions are:
1. Can i use default database for practice?
2. Which Configuration Assistants mainly i need to configure in this regard?
3. Do i need to install anything else?
I am newbie to Oracle trying to self learning.

I need to work on a project that pulls data from the oracle database and should be able to generate reports based on user entered criteria and they want me to use the oracle application server 10g.
(I also need to do manipulations on the data pulled out.)
How do i start and what are the things that i need to install..

This is a simple overview of my project..
Basically i need to convert a client server application which was initially in Access (and coded in VBA) and oracle to oracle based web application.
The application that was built in access has various flaws and hence we decided to rewrite them with lot of new features..
what i would need is several web pages(probably intranet based...) where i pull data from the oracle db, and then do manipulations on them and then based on certain criteria come up with a report based on users needs...

Said that OAS 10.1.2.0.2 is desupported, you have to apply patch 10.1.2.3 to be fully certified on OEL/RHEL 5.

the case is that we developed an ADF Application, so we want to deploy it on the latest version of Oracle Application server.
our application communicate with Oracle reports (run oracle reports from our Application) as there are no Oracle report products for JEE Application.
so if there are not report service that can run on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0),
what is the other choices that oracle supports that can help us in this case ???

Note that (as it is stated in the above certification matrix, point #19), you can only install a mid-tier instance there. Infrastructure installation type is not supported on it.

Oracle application server 10g installer

I'am trying to install oracle application server 10g. During the installation it appeared some messages like these ones:

I do not the reason of these error messages?
Are they related whit the fact tha I do not have de SDK 1.4.1 32BIT SR1 installed?

Oracle Application Server 10g Cloning - Urgent

I have been given a new assignment which involves Oracle Applications server 10g, i am new to oracle application server and hoping that some one will please clarify my doubts.
i have to clone a production machine (Solaris 10) which has oracle AS 10g, this machine had oracle database 10g before and just the application server was installed on it, i have to clone a test environment for this machine, i have the following two doubts
1) Is it possible to just install Oracle Application server 10g on a machine which already contains oracle 10g database, if so then what about the database that gets installed when installing Oracle application server 10g.
2) How to clone the above production machine, should the oracle 10g database be cloned first and then oracle application server 10g cloned on the new machine?

The DB that comes with OAS as the infrastructure DB for it (I presume you are installing a full OAS with infrastructure and midtier both) does not affect the DB you already have on your system ... obviously ... as long as you install them in their separate homes.
2) I always say, this term cloning is somewhat loosely used in general communication meaning making copies. In OAS context, Cloning works for middletiers only. You cannot clone an infrastructure.
To make a redundant/alternate environment for OAS, you can do the following:
- a) either use the same infra on machine 1, and install another midtier and register with the same infra.
- b) or install a separate infra on machine 2, and also a midtier registered with it.
Here for the first option a), Cloning can be used because you can (*only*) clone a middle-tier. There are pros and cons for this setup, including that you share the SSO, and OID, and hence users and groups bases, etc on those two environments - something that you may or may not want. But then there are also some way-outs to avoid them or minimize their effects too. Please see the following reference for cloning and search on Metalink for how to minimize effects, once you get better familiar with the processes.

What I understood from the doc is,
1. install Oracle Application Server 10g Enterprise Edition.
2. Integrate with EBiz 12.1.1.
Please let me know where can I get the link to download, Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.4) Enterprise Edition.
Is it required to install OID and SSO before oracle portal installation?
A step by step solution/documentation to integrate 12.1.1 with portal will highly be appreciated.

Flex on Oracle Application Server 10g - security problems

Hi,
I'm working with Flex components (swf files), I'm trying to view them in a browser and i'm facing some security problems.
The server i'm trying to run the files on is: Oracle application server 10g on Unix server.
Please help me with the server's configuration to allow running swf files on it.
In the relation of Flex, there is a file that must be on the server's root named: "crossdomain.xml". This file defines which IPs can the swf object can take/get data from. Maybe there are configurations to that file that needs to be done on the server?

No. Not only it isn't certified, but it is also impossible to run forms compiled with the 11g compiler with the 10g runtime. For 11g there is a install bundle for the developer suite / application server.
