It's my pleasure to provide assistance when I can :•) Having just recently graduated after 7 years of effort just to get a 2-year degree, I can relate to needing software to get class work accomplished. I will do everything I can to make it happen for you today.
Since you didn't mention, the UAC setting, I'd like you to disable it for me if it isn't already:
1. Open Control Panel
2. Under User Account and Family settings, click on the "Add or remove user account"
3. Click on any user account
4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
5. Under "Make changes to your user account", click on the "Change security settings" link
6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.
7. You will be prompted to reboot your computer - do so when ready
You may need to uninstall/reinstall Reader after the reboot in order for the problem to go away, but that part I am not certain of. Try to duplicate the issue prior to taking that step.
If you are unable to resolve issues with Adobe Reader, I recommend using a different reader that has much less bloat and is updated regularly:

FoxIT is a FREE alternative to using Adobe's Reader. Support for free Adobe products is limited forums such as this. The same holds true for open source alternatives except the manufacturer usually helps support their forums while Adobe doesn't monitor this forum or any like it. I need help regarding installation of Netweaver 2004s

I need help regarding installation of Netweaver. When ever i am running setup.exe, i am getting a page asking for local host and port number as 21212. When I enter my local host name and the port number as 21200 i am getting the error message given below and the installation stops. I am not able to proceed further. can any one help me what i need to do here. I created MS lookupadapter and entered my static ip address in 'host' file after 127.0.0.1 localhost and i disabled port number 3201 in system file. I verified system variables also. Everything is fine. I dont have firewall or antivirus installed in my system. Is there any thing else i need to do. please help me. Thanks in advance.

Run the sapinst.exe with the port 21212.This port 21212 is the default port used during the installation of netweaver.

I´m absolutely new in the world of SAP and just started lessons in ABAP on Netweaver 7.02.
Our teacher told us to install a mini SAP at home for training, so I download this :
SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.02 SP6 64-bit Developer Edition
And this is my problem : I never installed a system like this before.
My Notebook have : 2.16 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB Harddisk
Did I need something else and how can I get it ?

[SOLVED] New to Arch Linux, Need help in Installation.

Hi,
I am Ubuntu user for sometime, but I want to migrate to Arch Linux. I need some help. Please note that I am not Linux Expert but I have been using Ubuntu and OpenSUSE for quite sometime now. The reason for deciding to migrate to Arch Linux is with I need speed.
My laptop configuration is
Dell Vostro 1015 - Intel Dual Core 1.8 GHz with 2 GB RAM.
I was using Ubuntu 64 bit version.
Here in Arch Linux, I find there are 3 options to download i686 CPU, x86-64 CPU, Dual Architecture
Now which one should I download among x86-64 and Dual Architecture?

I was bit worried at the beginning because I tried Fedora before but it has one bug because of which it does not get installed on my laptop.

I was bit disappointed being not able to use Fedora (both 14 and 15 ) because of this bug.
The reason I got worried because I am new to Arch, as I mentioned I am not Linux expert and Arch is not for beginners( though I consider myself intermediate in Linux but certainly not expert). So I thought if I do not get community support probably I will not be able to use Arch Linux. So I thought of trying Arch Linux.
The reason to post the topic was in most of Linux distros we see two options (x86, AMD_64). I found 3 options at Arch. I just wanted to make sure I am downloading right download.

I used to follow hardware architectures but now I have so many other things to follow, so I can not keep up with hardware architectures. What other parameters should i be careful of. I have a database of around 40GB which i have to export from Oracle 8.0.6 running on Win 2000 server.

I new in BI Apps, where i can get link to donwload:
BIApps media pack on Windows needs to be downloaded from the Windows 64-bit Business Intelligence media pack (irregardless if you are using 32-bit ot 64 bit)
must i install the 64 bit instead of 32 bit, even if my os 32 bit?
what must i install instead of BI apps and obiee?do you have some manual guide?

Need help in installation of SQL Developer in Win7

Dear Frens,
I got a task to validate the SQL developer(64 bit version) in Win7 environment. I followed the advice in this form and installed the 64 bit JDK first.
It can be verified:

Need help on installation of 8.0.5 on rh 6.1 and mandrake 7.0

have anyone successfully installed oracle 8.0.5 on redhat 6.1 or mandrake 7.0? i can only installed on rh6.0.... any idea?

For RH 6.1, I'm guessing you're having problems when it tries to compile/link the Oracle code. This is because Oracle needs a different set of libraries that do not exist on RH 6.1 (glibc). There are RPM's that you need to install on RH 6.1 to get the compile/links to work (About 6 of them). To find these RPM's go to the page where you would download the Oracle Server for Linux. There is a README file for Oracle on RH 6.1 (And other Linux distributions as well). I think this will help.
I currently have Oracle 8.0.5 on RH 6.1 and am having no problems. However, I was running RH 5.2, and then upgraded to 6.1. Therefor I didn't have to deal with the install problems.

New to Oracle- Need help with installation from cmd shell.

I am writing a script to automate the installation of Oracle Forms and Reports 6i in XP through cmd.exe. The script works great, but the command is incomplete.
Currently the command in the script is "setup -responseFile directory\response.rsp".
This is supposed to generate a .rsp file containing all the options I selected in the custom installation (so I can simply call that file in future implementations of this script to automatically get all those settings), but it does not.
Does any one know what might be wrong: why isn't this generating the response file?
Or, do you know the arguments for the command so that I don't even need a response file?
I've googled this about a dozen times and found nothing very helpful.
Any advice is appreciated.
P.S. I've also tried -record -destinationFile. No luck with that either.

I had already tried that with no success. Just to be sure, I tried it again a moment ago exactly as you have it written except for the location name ("setup.exe -record -destinationFile \\directory\response.rsp"). Again, I don't see a response file.
I have viewed the link you sent me as well. Unfortunately, it looks like a I need to use the Universal Installer? I don't see anything like that in my installation directory. Am I completely missing something? Oracle is a whole new bag for me.

Desperately need help with installation

Right, so I bought the student pack for the Creative Suite5 Design Premium.
The first of my problems came when I was trying to install acrobat 9. The problem was that halfway through verification, the setup wizard said that Windows Installer needed to be closed for it to finish verifying, which is really confusing because it was Windows Installer running the installation i nthe first place.
So I tried installing the Design Premium suite itself, I was informed that the minimum requirements were not met for a number of products. I deselected the ones I did not need until I was left with adobe photoshop cs5 and adobe indesign cs5. Both of these did not meet system requirements, even though I did a check on this website itself for the requirements. I found that I actually exceeded the minimum requirement needed so I still don't understand why the installation won't work.
I am an art student doing digital painting so I would really appreciate swift help. This is a really frustrating issue.

Could you please post your machine configuration, OS, RAM, Processor details and resolution on which you are installing. Please post PDApp.log file from C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Temp\PDApp.log
and ignore all the warning messages and try installing. These are just kind of warnings and does not stop installation, if any application does not support the environment, that particular application will have trouble working with.

I need help on installation

While installing oracle9i client on linux, I get this message:
Error in invoking target install makefile /u01/app/oracle/product/9.0.1/client/lplsql/lib/ins_plsql.mk
I looked up the make file and could do nothing to help. so I selected the 'ignore' option. It happened to all other make files too and I selected 'ignore' for all of them. Eventually, some tools did not get installed and I'll like to ask what I can do to install them.

Need help macbook installation

i'm seeking help regarding my macbook, actually my cousin gave to me but the macbook seems not working, when i power up the machine it always the apple logo comes up then eventually the stop sign appears. though i have a mac os 9 and 10 installer (from a different macbook) but when i try to choose booting from my dvd by pressing the "option key" just only the hard drive appearing... is it posible that i need to buy new MAC OS or using any external optical drive, or is it posible to make a bootable usb flash drive? can you please post here some step by step procedures... any help would be highly appreciated..

You can't have an OS X 9.x installer for a macbook, as the first macbook came with OS X 10.4. That doesn't say that you don't have an OS X 9.x installation disk, however, it's not for a macbook. The gray-faced OS X disks are locked to the system types they are delivered with. So while an OS X 9.x DVD may have come with an emac, for example, it can't be used on another system type.
If your cousin's macbook was delivered with (I'm making this up because it's not stated) OS X 10.5 and you have a 10.4 macbook gray-faced disk, that shouldn't work either, because 10.4 is earlier than the 10.5 it was delivered with.
