Need Help in Inventory Exercise -
Dear All,
I need your help to resolve the issue in Inventory Cube Exercise. I have searched the entire blog for similar problem but i didn't get any solution.
Here is the Problem.
Due to the marker problem the entire data in cube was corrupted, We have removed entire data in Cube. And we have taken the downtime and performed all necessary steps in R/3. The same was loaded to BW.
2lis_03_BX --> Loaded to BW (Initialization Stock, and one time job), But the request was Not Compressed.
2lis_03_BF--> initialize the delta without data transfer - Here i have only 1 record (initialized record) -- Request not compressed
2lis_03_UM--> Initialize the delta without data transfer - Here i have only 1 record (initialized record) -- Request not compressed
After Initialization, daily delta loads are running and those are fine. i am able to see the data in cube.
=>> After this i have loaded historical data from 2007 to 2010. (UM & BF) (each year One Request- Total 8 request for both).
NOW
1. i have Initialize Stock request in infocube for 2lis_03_BX
2. i have Initialization request, delta requests and historical data requests in infocube for 2lis_03_BF
3. i have Initialization request, delta requests and historical data requests in infocube for 2lis_03_UM
Here is the Big task for Me. Since Two months the delta loads are running. Now i need to do compression on this cube.
Please do remember, till now there is no compression (not even initial requests or no single requests) happened in this cube. Now i have to perform this task immedly.
No requests are compression in the ZINV_C03_C (inventory cube) till now. ****
I need to perform immdly, because i have downtime fror three days from 28 dec to 30th Dec due to plant closing.
Please guide me to do this exercise.

I got an idea on compression scenarios, but my question is if i do compression on selective requests (one By one) is there any problem to be face? and how to done. Please suggest me if you have any suggestions.
And i have repairfull requests for Historical Data (2lis_02_bf, 2lis_02_um) 2007 to 2010. so how to do compression on these requests. Please give me your valuable suggestion .

Till this point i dont have any issues, but and how to handle compression for historical data (repairfull requests). "This is only biggest question in my mind".

Need help with inventory program!!! someone please help me!!!
Ok I have to write this inventory program for one of my classes.
For part one i needed to Create a product class that holds the item number, the name of product, the number of units in stock, and the price of each unit.
Then create a java application that displays all of the above info plus the total value of the inventory. I have done this so far with success.
For part two i needed to modify the program so the application can handle multiple items. Use an array to store the items. The output should display the information one product at a time including the item number, the name of the product, the number of units in stock, the price per unit, and the value of the inventory of that product. In addition, the output should display the value of the entire inventory.
so create a method to calculate the value of the entire inventory.(i did this)
and create another method to sort the array items by the name of the product. ( i did this)
The program compiles and runs fine except it is not doing anything from part two. It just does the same thing that it did when i wrote part one.
Does anyone know why or what i need to do to my code.

* Get rid of all those comments cluttering up your code.
* Make sure your posted code compiles without need for any changes. Yours doesn't at present. Where is the ProductInfo class?

Need help with Inventory program part 6
if any one can help or give me a clue to how to do this Modify the Inventory Program to include an Add button, a Delete button, and a Modify button on the GUI. These buttons should allow the user to perform the corresponding actions on the item name, the number of units in stock, and the price of each unit. An item added to the inventory should have an item number one more than the previous last item.
? Add a Save button to the GUI that saves the inventory to a C:\data\inventory.dat file.
? Use exception handling to create the directory and file if necessary.
? Add a search button to the GUI that allows the user to search for an item in the inventory by the product name. If the product is not found, the GUI should display an appropriate message. If the product is found, the GUI should display that product?s information in the GUI.
I am new to this so i dont have a clue but i am willing to try but need some guide as to how to do it

Need help with Inventory System
I am trying to throw together a semi-elegant inventory
viewing system for a web site I am creating. The current website is
going to be scrapped and remade relatively soon, so I really just
want a quick and dirty solution. As such, I have been using some
spry with xml datasets. I happened upon an article
here
that clued me in to a particularly interesting method of presenting
the data, so I am attempting a similar design, along with code from
spry samples (lots of cut-n-paste unfortunately, which is probably
a major reason why I have so many problems). Anyway, here is the
relevant info:
Right now I have folders for each category, with an xml file
for each size category. I arranged it this way, because I was
originally going to use straight html files for each size category
and in each folder, obviously not very practical. I played around
with the idea of putting all sizes into one file and letting some
spry+xml magic sort it out, but since I can't even get this to work
I haven't really tried it. If you experts would clue me in as to
which version might be more efficient or if you have any other
ideas please feel free to put me in my place.
Before I go any further, my main problem is the third line of
the first piece of code, I'm having trouble getting the dsStock xml
to load properly. The original example I cited above was using
Coldfusion, but I guesstimated that it wouldn't be a problem to
just load some straight xml files. Before I go any further I would
at least like to know if what I am attempting is possible.

XML files directly to see if there are errors in the XML? Is your
server serving up XML files with a Content-Type of text/xml or
application/xml?

GROUP BY t_recipes.recipe_nameWhen you format your code like this, it can be very easy to spot errors like unbalanced parentheses. In this case, the ')' right before the WHERE clause has no matching '('. You don't need to use any parentheses at all in the FROM clause. You can simply say:

JOIN t_products ON t_integration.product_no = t_products.product_no
WHERE ...INNER JOIN is the default kind of join, which makes sense, since the majority of all joins are inner joins. I usually say JOIN (instead of INNER JOIN) because it makes the code more compact and easier to read (at least for me), but I won't be maintaining your code, so do what's best for you.
What are you trying to find in this problem? Is it a recipe name or a cooking mode? If it's a cooking mode, the why do you have t_recipes.reciple_name in the SELECT (and GROUP BY) clause? Shouldn't you be using some other column, from some other table?
If I understand the problem correctly, the t_recipes table is not needed in this problem. You won't necessarily use every table in every query.

-creates a new folder inside the base folder and calls it imagesX where X increases by one every time the script is run
-moves all the files into the images folder
-within the base folder it creates a new text file and calls it imagesX.js
-writes a "//-" into imagesX.js
-then writes the list of filenames into the imagesX.js twice, separated by an empty line, and adds a semicolon to the end of each filename and saves imagesX.js
-from a folder a level above the base folder it copies a file called index.html into the base folder and renames in indexX.html
-in indexX.html it replaces a string "replaceThis" with "imagesX.js"
The task is more complex but this would help me tremendously do the rest.

Need Help With File Matching Records
I need help with my file matching program.
Here is how it suppose to work: FileMatch class should contain methods to read oldmast.txt and trans.txt. When a match occurs (i.e., records with the same account number appear in both the master file and the transaction file), add the dollar amount in the transaction record to the current balance in the master record, and write the "newmast.txt" record. (Assume that purchases are indicated by positive amounts in the transaction file and payments by negative amounts.)
When there is a master record for a particular account, but no corresponding transaction record, merely write the master record to "newmast.txt". When there is a transaction record, but no corresponding master record, print to a log file the message "Unmatched transaction record for account number ..." (fill in the account number from the transaction record). The log file should be a text file named "log.txt".

I am not sure what is wrong with my code above to make my results different from the correct results.
Much help is appreciated. Please help.From the output, it looks like one problem is just formatting -- apparently you're including a newline in log entries and not using tabs for the newmast output file.
As to why the numbers are off -- just from glancing over it, it appears that the problem is when you add multiple transaction values. Since account.combine() is so simple, I suspect that you're either adding creating transaction objects incorrectly or not creating them when you should be.
Create test input data that isolates a single case of this (e.g., just the Mary Smith case), and then running your program in a debugger or adding debugging code to the add/combine method, so you can see what's happening in detail.
Also I'd recommend reconsidering your design. It's a red flag if a class has a name with "Create" in it. Classes represent bundles of independant state and transformations on that state, not things to do. -

}Ok, given that I may have not been the kindest to you on the other thread (and I'm still annoyed that you went and cross-posted this), and that you did actually use code tags, I'm going to post some code here:
Please take the following advice onboard though.
1. When you are naming your artifacts, please use the java coding standard as your guide. So if you are naming a class you use a capital letter first, and use camel case thereafter. All method names begin with a lower case letter, and all variable names begin with a lower case letter (and again camel case after that)
2. Please use self explanitory names (for everything), so no more row1, row2, or text1, text2, etc.
3. The example I am giving below makes use of a single class to handle all actions, this is not really the best way to do this, and a better way would be to have a class to handle each action (that would remove the massive if() else if() in the action handler class.
4. When you are using class variables they should be private (no exceptions, ever!), if you need to access them from other classes use accessors (eclipse and other IDE tools can generate these methods for you in seconds)
5. Notice the naming convention for my constants (final statics), they are all upper case (again from the java coding standards document, which you are going to look for with google right?)
6. I have hived some of the creation work to helper methods (the getSubjectTextField() etc), although it isn't advisable to be calling other methods from the constructor, since this is a GUI, and you want it to appear as soon as you create the class, we won't worry about this, but perhaps as an execrise you could work out a better way to do this?
7. Personally, I don't like classes that implement listeners, unless they are specifically designed to do that job. So a Frame that is set up as an action listener is fine, provided the actions it listens for are associated with the frame, not its contents. If the actions are related to its contents, then a dedicated class is better.
8. Another personal opinion, but I feel it makes code clearer, but others may disagree. If you are creating a variable solely to hold the result of a calculation, to be passed to a method in the very next line, then don't create the variable, just pass the method as the argument to the method (feel free to ignore this advice if the method call is extremely long, and a local would make it easier to read)
Anyway, here is the code. I have removed most of the menu items, and leave this as an exercise for you. Also I have only created 2 methods (new and exit), I'll again leave it as an exercise for you to complete this.

Hi i need help with getting my homework for school
im in a nine week class that ends tommorw and need help go\etting my program working properly these are the requirements ofr the assignments:
Modify the Inventory Program by adding a button to the GUI that allows the user to move
to the first item, the previous item, the next item, and the last item in the inventory. If the
first item is displayed and the user clicks on the Previous button, the last item should
display. If the last item is displayed and the user clicks on the Next button, the first item
should display.
· Add a company logo to the GUI using Java graphics classes.
Modify the Inventory Program to include an Add button, a Delete button, and a Modifybutton on the GUI. These buttons should allow the user to perform the corresponding actions on the item name, the number of units in stock, and the price of each unit. An item added to the inventory should have an item number one more than the previous last item. Add a Save button to the GUI that saves the inventory to a C:\data\inventory.dat file. Use exception handling to create the directory and file if necessary. Add a search button to the GUI that allows the user to search for an item in the inventory by the product name. If the product is not found, the GUI should display an appropriate message. If the product is found, the GUI should display that products information in the GUI. Post final .class and .java files as an attachment.

In plus i have four parameters with searchlight options, the problem is when i select "Finance" from DEPT2 and in the next selection level i'm seeing all the departments "Accounting,Asset Management and Bridge Dsgn Insp Hyd" insted of just "Accounting". What i want is if i select a department in DEPT2, in the next drop down list(DEPT3) i want to see only the departement corresponding to the one i selected in dept2. Please need help.

First of all you need to be using Discoverer 10g or 11g Plus not 9.0.4. Assuming you have the right version you need to present the parameters in the correct order. You can change the order on the parameters screen by selecting Tools | Parameters from the toolbar. You then use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to place them in the right order so that DEPT1 is offered first, followed by DEPT2, then DEPT3 and then DEPT4.
Next, you need to check the radion button on the bottom of the right-hand side that allows linking of parameters then you make DEPT2 dependent upon DEPT1, with DEPT3 dependent upon DEPT2 and so on.
While this works without hierarchies it works best when you have a hierarchy in place and even better when there is a composite index on the 4 items.

Here's the problem. Im in a Gr.11 Computer Science class and we're doing exercises on programs. One of the prgrams is to construct a custom RCBot that a user could control, which i did. The second task was to create a second 'Smart Robot' that would follow the RCBot as if Chasing him in a game like PacMan or something.
We are using becker.robots and were instructed to use a loop in order to figure this out. In my case i have no clue how to do this but believe it has something to with the RCBots location (street, avenue). Hope this gives a better understanding of what im trying to do.
