Need help in process monitoring

hi,
i wanna do a java program for displying all the current running processes in the system and for displaying the performance graph. jus like the task manager..so i need to use some unix commands to get all the processes i guess...can anyone help me in this??

We could help you, but you'd have to ask a specific question.
First of all I'd like to point out that Java is not the perfect tool for that job. You've already noticed that you will require resources (applications) that are not provided by Java to do that work, but if you want to, you can probably do it in Java.
What exactly do you have a problem with?

Need help connecting external monitor

My brother needs help with connecting an external monitor to his 20" iMac G5. He has the adapter with the standard monitor port, and when plugged in, the monitor duplicates the iMac screen. His question is, how can he set it so that the desktop is extended, instead of duplicated? I, myself, have a MacBook and two months ago I used my adapter to connect a projector, and I remember an option where I could choose between duplicate and extended desktop, and right now I tried to find it on my MacBook and well as my Intel iMac and I can't find the option, and neither can he.

The iMac G5 can only mirror the internal display unless you hack the firmware.
Display options like that only appear when you connect a display which is why you can't see them on the MB at the moment.

1. i have to load one infopackage to a PSA.
2. then have to do load for one infocube from two different infocubes one after the other.
for all these loads one restriction of fiscal year period to be common value.

Need help estimating processing power required to support new process

Hi,
I am putting up a new server spec for a new project. I need help estimating processor power I need.
Here are, in short, the steps of the main process:
- Load the data:
Incoming file contains 160 mln rows. The SIZE of this file is 250 GB. The file has about 60 columns, out of that I upload 50 into my table.
Record length is 1500 bytes, in the table.
- Validation/calculations:
After the upload I validate EACH row in this table against 20 rules that are defined in the RULES table.
It is all math, like this column plus that column must be equal to this number, and validate the third column against this number.
- Output stage:
Records that pass validation go to one table, those that didn't go to the other table.
Then the first table (with good records) is extracted to a file. Those from the "wrong" table are also get inserted into "review" table
This whole process should take about 5-6 hrs.
This file contains 6 month of data.
Some times, I will run validation against 2 year worth of data, means validate two "annual" tables, each one is 500 GB in size. According to the requirements, this process should take no more than 1 day.
For this process I write hardware spec for a new server.
I have a hard time figuring out how much processor power I need for this process? to validate this much data in that much time.
Is there any formula or a guideline to tell what processor I need? I was looking at this one, but I wish I could estimate before I buy and try (and possibly fail, and have a biiiiig problems)
Intel Xeon E5-2640 (6 core, 2.50 GHz, 15MB, 95W)
Number of processors: 2
RAM: 16GB

Needs help to process data from a form in php

It sounds like you need to use "Array Subset.vi" to split the 2000000 into 250000 element blocks.
Set the index on Array Subset to 0 and then increment by 250000 after processing and displaying each block.

Need help with external monitor

ok here it is my duaghter pushed my powerbook off hte table and it broke the screen and i have purchased a dvi to vga adapter to work on a n external monitor is there anything else i need to do to make it work right now all i get is white screen anyhelp willbe greatly appreciated

The VGA adapter is only 4" long, do you have an extension? If so, the computer should register the adapter and the images should be displayed. Any more details would help to see what's wrong.

I need help choosing a monitor! PLEASE HELP!

I getting a brand new mac mini from ebay and i am deciding between a 15-inch or a 14-inch LCD display. I was just wondering, if both of the displays have a resolution of 1024 x 768, is that the pixel count too? so does that mean the pixels on the 15-inch are just bigger or something? i need to know because the 14-inch LCD is $40 cheaper than the 15 inch....Thanks everyone!
also, since i've already decided on getting an apple keyboard, do you think the mighty mouse is really worth $49? i like to stick with apple products so that's why I'm wondering.

It doesn't necessarily mean the pixels themselves are bigger or smaller. It could also be the dot pitch (or distance between pixels) is bigger or smaller. If the native resolution is 1024x768 then you are correct, there are physically 1024x768=786,432 pixels. A 15" screen with the same resolution as a 14" screen may appear slightly less sharp but objects will appear larger. It's a tradeoff. Generally I would choose the larger monitor just because it is easier on the eyes when reading small print, etc.

Need Help Bad, Program Monitor Troubles

Ive reinstalled windows 7 5 times in the last 3 days, my problem that im having is when i opening up premiere everything is find i think seems to be running fine. but when i try to color correct anything and i select any peramater in an effect im not seeing the updated in the program monitor.
I dont know what this is doing this. its like trying to color correct and guessing. the video updates if i stop and give it a sec to load. in other version of PM ive done this with no problems. i just got this system its an i7, 16gb ram with 2gb nvidia video cards. Monitor(video) on emac blew up, need help with external monitor....

Hello everyone, I have an old Emac which the monitor popped and stopped working. I bought the plug and had an external older monitor working once, then I plugged in a newer monitor and now neither will work. The xternal monitor has a small blue rectangle bouncing around saying "please check pc display settings. I tried to reset the ram by restarting the Emac and holding down the command,option,p, and r buttons. This made the second restart sound, but the video still does not work. Is there another sequence to reset? Am I doomed now? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello again, yes it was the picture tube that went. the smell was awful. The machine still runs, but since I plugged the flat screen monitor into it, it will not display either monitor. It was working once with an older monitor, but now it just diplays "adjust pc display settings". I needs to view the emac so I can retrieve my files. I've also tried resetting the pram, but that did not work. What can I do? I'm stuck. Thx.

Need help with dual monitor setup for KDE 3.5.5.

Thanks for your help guys, I'm halfway there.
The second monitor shows the KDE desktop, but it isn't exactly what I expected. Right now, both monitors display at 1024x768 (each) or 2048x768 (total). The larger monitor stretches and distorts the display of 1024x768 to its natural resolution at 1440x900 and it isn't what I wanted. Other than that, the dual desktop setup behaves what I expected to.

Busted Screen, Need Help Hooking Up Monitor

The screen on my Powerbook is totally busted so I tried hooking up a monitor to it, but it seems to not be working correctly. All I see is my desktop picture, and no icons (like the HD or folders on my desktop), dock, or even the menu bar are not showing up. At first, I thought it was a ratio issue since the monitor is more square than the laptop screen, and therefore cutting the edges out where the menu bar, etc. would lie, but I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. I'm guessing I have to go into my system prefs and set the computer up to work with the monitor, but the problem is since the screen's totally shot, I can't even go in and do that. Any suggestions? Hi, hobageeba. What is the maximum resolution offered by your external monitor (consult its manual or the manufacturer's online specs for it)?
If the external monitor's maximum resolution (1024 x 768 or 1600 x 1200, for example) is as large as or larger than the maximum resolution of your Powerbook's display, you may be able to get a normal desktop — including the menu bar, desktop icons, etc. — displayed on the external monitor by pressing the F7 key on the Powerbook's keyboard. That should toggle the external display from Extended Desktop mode into Display Mirroring mode, in which the same video signal is sent to both displays, allowing you to use the external as the main display. (Note: under some circumstances, toggling F7 has no effect — and I don't know what circumstances, or why not. If it doesn't seem to do anything, it probably hasn't done anything, and it won't be helpful to you.)
Typically, if the external monitor's resolution is higher than the built-in display's, a mirrored video image will be displayed in the center of it surrounded by black, instead of filling the monitor. That wastes screen real estate, but at least you know you're seeing the whole desktop, and if your monitor is good, the image will be as sharp as it was on the built-in display when it worked.
If the external monitor has a lower maximum resolution than the built-in screen, the results of switching to Mirrored mode are less predictable. You may see only the center of the desktop, with the menu bar, hard drive icon, and other icons that were at the edges of the desktop "displayed" outside the edges of the external monitor. In that case it may be impossible to tell the difference between Mirrored and Extended Desktop modes, depending on what your desktop background image is. I don't know of a way to overcome that.
Whatever you find out about the monitor's resolution, give the F7 toggle a try and see what happens.

Need Help With Processing A Delay

OK I'm working on a Flash intro for a site. After the Flash movie plays I want it to wait three seconds and then send them to the index page. Currently I'm using the action script:

I've got that keyed to the last frame. The issue is at the end of the Flash movie it displays the company logo image. Well with that script added to the last frame it just quickly blips up the logo then takes you to the main page so fast you don't even get to really see the logo. I want the viewer to have a couple seconds to take it in, but then move them along to the main site without them having to look for a button to press.I was emailing with a friend and he suggested.

Now I think he's right, he usually is, but I've only been using flash for about two weeks now so even with that reply I'm not getting it.I don't even see "setTimeout" anywhere in my actions list. I tried just cutting and pasting:

I have to say I've never seen the setTimeout specified in that way, but there's likely lots I aint seen. In your last frame you should be able to use...

Need help to process attachment data

Dear all,
I have the following use case.
1. I have one BPEL process which takes multipart MIME attachment with others parameters.
2. i have to save the attachment to the database through DBAdpter and do some business process.
My BPEL process taking attachment from standalone client and another BPEL process requester, All workings fine when the content-Id of the mime part is the physical address of the attachment file and the client and BPEL process in the same machine. By readFile() function i can get the file.
But if i will send file with content-id:<[email protected]> - certainly it's not working.
I would like to get any information how the Mime attachment works in BPEL process also how to retrieve the mime attachment from the SOAP message in BPEL.
I examine the samples and demos supplied with SOA suit but can't figured. My SOA suit is 10.1.3.1
Any help or suggestion will be welcome. Thank'x in advance.

Is there also a way to set up the new Hard Drive so that my old programs will work again (GarageBand, iTunes' DRM-encoded mp4's that require the "original" signal, etc.) And how do I take off the second copy of OS X from my old hard drive before I get the disc image for a new hard drive?? Second, there is conflicting guidance as to how to set IPV4 properties for the net interface when installing child-domain DNS. Should primary DNS address be 127.0.0.1 or the address of the Root domain DNS? or both?
