    Hi David,
This is regarding SET & GET Parameters.
SAP allows you to make use of SPA/GPA technique to fill the input fields of a called transaction with data from the calling program.SPA/GPA parameters are values that the system stores in the global, user-specific SAP memory. SAP memory allows you to pass values between programs. A user can access the values stored in the SAP memory during one terminal session for all parallel sessions. Each SPA/GPA parameter is identified by a 20-character code. You can maintain them in the Repository Browser in the ABAP Workbench. The values in SPA/GPA parameters are user-specific.
ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements.
    To fill one, use:
SET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
This statement saves the contents of field <f> under the ID <pid> in the SAP memory. The code <pid> can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under <pid>, this statement overwrites it. If the ID <pid> does not exist, double-click <pid> in the ABAP Editor to create a new parameter object.
To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
GET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
This statement fills the value stored under the ID <pid> into the variable <f>. If the system does not find a value for <pid> in the SAP memory, it sets SY-SUBRC to 4, otherwise to 0.
To fill the initial screen of a program using SPA/GPA parameters, you normally only need the SET PARAMETER statement.
The relevant fields must each be linked to an SPA/GPA parameter.
On a selection screen, you link fields to parameters using the MEMORY ID addition in the PARAMETERS or SELECT-OPTIONS statement. If you specify an SPA/GPA parameter ID when you declare a parameter or selection option, the corresponding input field is linked to that input field.
On a screen, you link fields to parameters in the Screen Painter. When you define the field attributes of an input field, you can enter the name of an SPA/GPA parameter in the Parameter ID field in the screen attributes. The SET parameter and GET parameter checkboxes allow you to specify whether the field should be filled from the corresponding SPA/GPA parameter in the PBO event, and whether the SPA/GPA parameter should be filled with the value from the screen in the PAI event.
When an input field is linked to an SPA/GPA parameter, it is initialized with the current value of the parameter each time the screen is displayed. This is the reason why fields on screens in the R/3 System often already contain values when you call them more than once.
When you call programs, you can use SPA/GPA parameters with no additional programming overhead if, for example, you need to fill obligatory fields on the initial screen of the called program. The system simply transfers the values from the parameters into the input fields of the called program.
However, you can control the contents of the parameters from your program by using the SET PARAMETER statement before the actual program call. This technique is particularly useful if you want to skip the initial screen of the called program and that screen contains obligatory fields.
If you want to set SPA/GPA parameters before a program call, you need to know which parameters are linked to which fields on the initial screen. A simple way of doing this is to start the program that you want to call, place the cursor on the input fields, and choose F1 followed by Technical info. The Parameter ID field contains the name of the corresponding SPA/GPA parameter. Alternatively, you can look at the screen definition in the Screen Painter.
The SPA/GPA parameter for the input field Company has the ID CAR. Use this method to find the IDs CON, DAY, and BOK for the other input fields.
The following executable program is connected to the logical database F1S and calls an update transaction:
REPORT BOOKINGS NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING.
    TABLES SBOOK.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    WRITE: 'Select a booking',
    SKIP.
    GET SBOOK.
    WRITE: SBOOK-CARRID, SBOOK-CONNID,
    SBOOK-FLDATE, SBOOK-BOOKID.
    HIDE: SBOOK-CARRID, SBOOK-CONNID,
    SBOOK-FLDATE, SBOOK-BOOKID.
    AT LINE-SELECTION.
SET PARAMETER ID: 'CAR' FIELD SBOOK-CARRID,
    'CON' FIELD SBOOK-CONNID,
    'DAY' FIELD SBOOK-FLDATE,
    'BOK' FIELD SBOOK-BOOKID.
    CALL TRANSACTION 'BOOK'.
The basic list of the program shows fields from the database table SBOOK according to the user entries on the selection screen. These data are also stored in the HIDE areas of each line.
    Reward If useful.

    Chitra

  • NEED HELP TO SET UP SMALL NETWORK - WIRELESS SIGNAL FROM NOVATEL U760 USB

    Hello -
I need help setting up a small network in my new home in Florida, which has no wired broadband capability - not cable, not dsl. My options are satellite (which I'd like to avoid) or wireless broadband via Millenicom (or now Virgin Mobile) using their Novatel U760 USB stick.
Here are the network components - someone please tell me how to set this up:
PC #1 (has wireless card, but I've connected it by ethernet to the router)
PC #2 (no wireless card; connected via ethernet to router)
MACBOOK, 1 1/2 years old (2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 gigs RAM), running OS 10.58, connected wirelessly to router.
AIRPORT EXTREME BASE STATION, Model A1143.
I'm not thrilled about using a wireless 3G signal as my primary one, (sprint network, claims 600 - 1400 kbps speed), but it costs 1/2 to 1/3 of what a slightly faster satellite signal would.
I have not ordered this service yet. Before I do, I'd like a clear understanding that I can, in fact, set up my simple network, which I'd probably do the same as it's now configured with cable broadband - both PC's plug via
ethernet into the Airport Extreme router, the MacBook connects wirelessly - AND,
    my question is this:
Can I plug the wireless card - a Novatel U760 USB-stick device - straight into that USB slot in the Airport Extreme base station and will it automatically recognize that device?
Or, do I have to plug it into the MacBook and somehow share that wireless signal between the 2 PC's (only 1 of which has a wireless card, so I'd have to get a card for PC #2)?
And help anyone can provide will be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Em

    from the Airport FAQ #14:
"Question: Can I connect my Soundsticks or other USB speakers to AirPort Express?
Answer: No. The USB port is for connecting a printer, not for other devices."
Im assuming other devices include USB modems.
So, I would say your cheaper route would be to get a second wireless card and just share your internet connection from one of your PC.

The basic flow is like this -> I've got a home page, then a login page (action -> register.do) & a third page (action -> authenticate.do) which is displayed after authenticating the user.
I'm trying to re-direct the user to the home page once he directly accesses /authenticate.do
For this, in the Action class of /register, I'd defined a session attribute & set a value to it.
Then, in the Action class of /authenticate, I'm checking for the session attribute. If not present, I'm re-directing the user to home page.........
The problem that I'm facing is that when I directly access /authenticate.do, the application is not getting re-directed & instead, it is displaying error messages that User name & password (the 2 fields present in my login page) are required..........
The <action> tag of /authenticate.do has got validate="true" & hence it seems that validation occurs before re-directing....
Therefore, can someone tell me why is the application not posting the form to Action class of /authenticate........
    Thanx in advance.....
    Regards,
    Sasidharan N

  • Need help with a simple process with FTP Adapter and File Adapter

I am trying out a simple BPEL process that gets a file in opaque mode from a FTP server using a FTP adapter and writes it to the local file system using a File Adapter. However, the file written is always empty (zero bytes). I then tried out the FTPDebatching sample using the same FTP server JNDI name and this work fine surprisingly. I also verified by looking at the FTP server logs that my process actually does hit the FTP server and seems to list the files based on the filtering condition - but it does not issue any GET or RETR commands to actually get the files. I am suspecting that the problem could be in the Receive, Assign or Invoke activities, but I am not able identify what it is.
I can provide additional info such as the contents of my bpel and wsdl files if needed.
Would appreciate if someone can help me with this at the earliest.
    Thanks
    Jay

  • Need Help Fast! Page is dispalying twice in quiz

I have created a quiz using tips from another post in this
forum. I insterted a regular slide with a continue button before
the quiz questions. I insterted another regular slide at the end of
the questions with a re-take button that points to that first
slide. This part is working great. When I take the published quiz,
I click the continue button, and instead of continuing, the slide
redisplays. I click the button again, and it moves forward like
    it's supposed to. Any advice?
I'm supposed to have these posted in our LMS today for
testing, so I need help fast!!! Thanks!!

What you're seeing is likely the result of a MS patch for IE
    in response
    to the Eolas patent suit.
MS recently updated IE so any content shown in a page using
    the Embed,
Object, or Script tags will need to be 'activated' before
    they can be
    clicked (or otherwise 'interacted with').
Your home computer probably hasn't had the latest security
    rollup
installed, is why you're not seeing the issue on that
    machine.
There is a work around, many site mention it. This may be a
    good place
    to start:

    2nd step  j2ee cluster
    checked the box
    use local j2ee engine
    3rd step
    selected dictionary meta data
    4 th
    selected the techinical system
    5th
    user name -->sapuser
    pasww-->india
    pressed finish
now i found the jco in green color
    but i pinged it
    i got mesg
    ping failed

  • Need Help in Dreamweaver CS3

I so desperatly need help with using creating Websites. First
of all I should let you know that I was placed in this position
becuase the girl before me quit and they had no one else to take
over. Dont get me wrong I really do like the software but I feel
lost and I have asked several people who do know how to use the
program . One person I asked is the webmaster for the area but when
I went to her for help she created a new site for us. That was not
what I wanted. I wanted a hands on expierience but didnt get it and
she always takes over. We even had tech support for a year but this
lady was either away or didnt help. I have also asked the
surrownding area webmasters for help and havent heard from them
either. So I sincerly need help. I am no giving up and I'm
determined to figure the program out. So If there are any Angels
    out there please help.

The only way to get yourself out of this hole is to forget
    about learning
the tool, and concentrate on learning the technology. Study
    HTML and CSS,
and you will find that you don't need to learn anything about
    DW to use it
    effectively.

  • I need help for Java3D

I created a Java3D java file. I compiled it in a .class file, and I added it in a .htm page (http://www.exacodes.be/BouncingBall.htm) and it doesn't work by my friends computers.
At school I was able to see in the console that the Geometry class wass missing ... Where can I find this class and how can I add it to my class ?
IS there an other method ?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the Sun forums.
    fatidee wrote:

The classes contains methods only..Is it possible for a program to run without a class??No.
Please fix that sticky '?' key. One '?' indicates a question, whereas 2 or more often indicates a bozo.
..or is there a way i should place a class on top of the other or on top of a main Project? That reads like nonsense to me. I cannot figure out what you are asking.
To make it easier on the reader, please add two spaces between each and every sentence, and make the first letter of every sentence upper case. The upper case letter makes it easier for people to quickly scan the text, looking for ways to help. You would not want to make it harder to help, would you?
pls i need help. Please make the effort to [write well|http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#writewell]. That word is 'please', not 'pls'.
..Below are the Java3D codes:When posting code, code snippets, HTML/XML or input/output, please use the code tags. The code tags protect the indentation and formatting of the sample. To use the code tags, select the sample and click the CODE button.
Java 3D is not an API for newbies. Your questions strongly suggest to me that you are not very experienced with Java, so it might be best to leave Java 3D aside for a while as you get used to writing and debugging simpler Java programs.

    ,     COUNT (CASE WHEN created_dt = sysdate-5 THEN 1 END)     AS 03022012
    , COUNT (CASE WHEN created_dt = sysdate-6 THEN 1 END)     AS 04022012
    FROM     table_1
    GROUP BY application_type
ORDER BY     application_typeThat's the bais idea.
You can simplify it a little by factoring out the date differences:WITH got_d     AS
         SELECT     qty
         ,     TRUNC ( dt
              - ADD_MONTHS ( TRUNC (SYSDATE, 'MON')
                        , -1
              ) AS d
         FROM table1
WHERE     dt     >= ADD_MONTHS ( TRUNC (SYSDATE, 'MON')
                        , -1
         AND dt     < TRUNC (SYSDATE) + 1
SELECT     SUM (CASE WHEN d = 1 THEN qty END)     AS day_1
    ,     SUM (CASE WHEN d = 2 THEN qty END)     AS day_2
    ,     SUM (CASE WHEN d = 62 THEN qty END)     AS day_62
    FROM     got_d
See the links I mentioned earlier for getting exactly the right number of columns, and dynamic column aliases.

  • XI Realtime scenarios-need help

    Hello experts,
I am new to XI and I need help with real time XI scenarios.
can you please give me 2-3 examples of What kinds of systems involve in data transfer (both sap and non sap) for transfer of what kinds of data (general IDOCs, RFCs and other kinds of data)
and what is the purpose of that scenario? also how many times the data will be transferred between the systems?
    Thanks in advance,
    Haritha.
useful answers will be rewarded ***

  • Need help with 1 thing

I followed a tut and learned how to do everything I'll need.
I'm a kid, so I don't need to be professional about anything.
Anyways, the tutorial left out the last part. How to publish your
website. It said to find a guide in the help from dreamweaver, but
I didn't find it. If anybody could sum it up for me, simple or not,
    it would be greatly appreciated.

    > Would he be able to give it to me
Yes - he would relay to you the FTP login information sent to
    him by his
    host.
Alternatively, you could give him the files, and let him
    upload them using
    that same FTP information.
