Need help installing apps onto iPad 2 (all apps appear as "waiting" ever since iOS 5.1)
Ever since I updated to ios 5.1 on my iPad 2, I've been experiencing a lot of difficulty in downloading and installing apps without the aid of my computer's iTunes. Every app that I've downloaded since the update has gotten stuck on waiting. Also, when I tap and hold apps (to sort and delete), I get the option to delete the waiting apps (it even warns me that I will delete all of its data off my iPad. What data?). Sometimes they show the icon, sometimes they just show white. Usually I get the icon after I reset, but still waiting. This also applies for any updates. What I have done to try to fix this:
-reset the iPad
-delete the waiting app and try installing it again
-check my Internet connection
-sign out and sign back in with my apple ID
-tap the waiting app to try to start it
-install only one app at a time
****I am well aware that I can sync to iTunes, so please do not tell me to do this. It does install the apps when I sync it to iTunes, but it's also very inconvenient to do every time, especially because I have so many apps (13 gb to be precise) and I'm usually away from my computer.
Any help would be appreciated.
Did some additional checkin' ; the same behavior applies when powering off ...
when starting up again after few secs it normally starts up (approx 20 secs). When starting up after approx an hour it takes about 2-3 minutes to respond ... weird ...
anyone ideas ?

All of my apps on my new ipad2 are not working. I had this iPad about 4 months and nothing bad has happened before this. I need help on how to make my apps stop crashing. Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

Try closing the App Store app via the iPad's taskbar and then do a soft-reset and see if you can install it after the iPad has restarted. To close the App Store : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

I just have a HP printer (HP Designjet 100) and for some reason I need to install a file for all the HP printers drivers in total 590MB to be able to use my printer in my mountain lion???
If normally the size of my files in the for previous software was more or less 5MB why now i need to install 590?
Some one could help me how to avoid installation of 590MB for my new mountain lion software???
ThanksIf you go to http://support.apple.com/downloads and locate the HP Printer Drivers installer, you will find that it is 473.4 MB (for version 2.11). If you install this, it will install the full set of drivers for every model of HP printer that is supported by the drivers distributed through Apple. The disk space occupied once installed will probably be larger than the download, since the downloaded file is compressed.
On the other hand, if you have an HP printer connected and you use Software Update (or the Update tab in App Store), that should offer you a much smaller set of HP drivers, which are only applicable to your printer (and possibly a few similar ones). These updates are typically only tens of megabytes rather than hundreds of megabytes.
If Software Update doesn't offer you any HP drivers then it either thinks you have the latest drivers installed already, or the printer model is not supported by the drivers available from Apple.

I need help please. I have 6 apps updates shown on on the upper right corner of the app store icon. When i tried to open the apps store and go to updates, the apps that need to be updated were not appearing therefore i have no idea what those apps are so that i can update them. Chris… No I was using the desktop version, I cannot stand the M version, guess it would be nice if I had a touch screen..…when I finally got my computer to download the Acrobat Standard XI program, not sure how it worked, but I think it had something to do with Windows 8 not allowing itself to update all my apps and programs, even though my computer was set to automatically update any Windows/Microsoft updates…finally I got my Windows updates done, it downloaded like 36 files…and then I had to restart,(which also could have been playing a factor)…so finally got the program downloaded on Windows 8…but then I tried to run the new program and it says install serial #...so I assume that it was asking for the serial # for the Acrobat Standard XI…finally after googling the web, I found somebody that said try your older serial # from the previous program, and when I did this it finally works.. you would think with a brand new Windows computer I would have no problem installing Windows Updates…somebody needs to make a sticky about this, I am sure I am not the only one haiving this problem..

By default, ML no longer comes with the Java runtime preinstalled. I believe the route to enabling Java if you are going to need it is to run the Java Preferences app found in Utilities. It will inform you of Java's absence and offer to install the latest version and activate it. On subsequent runs, the Preferences app will allow you to fine tune how the runtime operates.
Note that the new default operation is for the applet plugin to be disabled. You need to enable it as needed and it self-deactivates if unused in awhile. Also important to note that Java comes in both 32 and 64 bit versions and you can set the preferred order. Default is 64-bit but I've had issues with some applets failing to run and have had to switch the order.
