Maybe you could actually describe what you have tried. "TRIED EVERYTHING" doesn't actually tell us what you've tried, so we have to start at the very begining.

Hi guys i was just wondering if anybody could help me my ipod keeps turning on and off after a recently trying to update.. I really need to know how to stop it.

My ipod was turning on and off and ive tried to restore it, but it doesn't work. I dont really want to reset it because i don't want to lose everything. Please help me.

Ipod wont come on, tried everything

I was running and a song would stop halfway through it. I kept pushing play again and it got to be every 10 seconds instead of every minute or so.
I finally let it stay paused and my screen never worked during that time. I went home and plugged it in the computer and it didnt recognize it and the screen stayed blank. I restored the ipod to default settings from the computer and during the whole time the screen never came back on, just beeping, not even a flashing screen.
I was able to add songs back on it from my computer but it still doesnt work or anything, connected or disconnected from the computer. I left it alone all night plugged into the computer and it still wont work at all. It just beeps. Ive tried the resettings and all.
I tried laying it on a flat surface plugged into the computer and pushing the menu and middle button at the same time and still nothing. Its hooked to the computer now and its just clicking every 5-6 seconds.

make sure your iPhone is disconnected, open task manager, click on the processes tab, and find itunes.exe or something that says iTunes and right click it and click end process, then close task manager, and open iTunes. Should work

okay, i have a 30 gb ipod video, and no matter what i do i cant get the dead/very low battery picture off and connect my ipod. i have left it pluged in for 3 hours so far and still nuthing. any suggestions...

I had this problem too guys. I would leave the charger on all night and it still wouldn't charge. Took it back to the Apple Store (NYC) amd they tested it, found that it wasn't holding a charge, and they gave me a new iPod. So maybe it's a common problem with the 5th gen.

Also, look at the dock connector. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts. foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.
I suspect a hardware problem.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hey, my ipod wont charge, yesterday i was out and it rained and my ipod got wet and im wondering if this could affect it? I have tried alot of leads and none of them work, ive only had the ipod for 5 months but it was second hand, is it fixable, can anyone help?

I am very disappointed in the apparent build quality of these players, my fist one's screen stopped working and under the warranty I got a replacement - which is just stopped working completely for no apparent reason after less than 4 months! Useless, will certainly be looking elsewhere for my next mp3 player is this is deemed acceptable - for the features I can get a different brand cheaper than a repair!

Do you see a lightning bolt near the battery , Battery is charging (supposedly( IF not return to where you purchased it (also make sure that the charger is on) if still not charging with lighting bolt bring it back

You can does that plug your iPod somewhere else like the sockets on walls because sometimes the mac is getting less power so it cant give a bit of power to your iPod if it gives the mac will shut down
If in the socket it doesn't charge get New power adapted if it still doesn't charge get a new USB cable if it still doesn't charge take it to apple :)
