Need help loading xml parameter into component
I am using a third-party flash component (no source access)
that takes in a location of an xml file and manipulates it. The
problem is, I want that file's location to be dynamic and be loaded
from an argument to the end .swf that can then be forwarded to the
internal component. How can I load a component at runtime and set
it's xml_file parameter before/during construction of the object? I
have tried to drag it to the stage from components and change the
xml_file parameter in actionscript directly, but by the time this
change gets triggered the xml has already been read in and it
doesn't work.
This may be really simple, but I just can't figure it out. I
would appreciate anyone who could help. Thanks.
First, set the size of the component with the setSize method,
not "height" and "width". That may be the entire source of your
problem.
e.g.: this.componentInstanceName.setSize(175, 175);
Second, I am unsure all the parameters you specify in the
initialization object are valid {x:10, y:10, height:20, width:20,
font_color:'#333333', player:"vidPlayer", xml_file:"list.xml"}.
Only put in the initialization object parameters that are valid for
the component you are instantiating.
Third, make sure you are specifying the correct import
statements for your component at the top of your code. Since it is
a custom one, I can't help with knowing what to import. The code I
attached in my first post assumed import statements and the
components needed in the library, but here are the import
statements that I used:
import mx.controls.*;
import mx.containers.*;//for scrollPane
import mx.styles.CSSStyleDeclaration;
import mx.transitions.easing;
Fourth, don't forget the ignoreWhite method for importing XML
into Flash:
XML.prototype.ignoreWhite = true;// sets ignoreWhite
globally

Error while loading XML files into scott user
Hi All,
I'm new to xml files. I need to load xml files into database through OWB.
I have xml file in my local machine & am trying to load into table PO of Scott. Scott is registered as repository user.
Followed same steps as specified in userguide.
But, when executing the procedure ( in two ways one as just table name, and other as user.table name) it is showing the below error:
Procedure is:(1)--with username.tablename

JoshnaHi Joshna,
Please follow below steps to load xml file to oracle database.
1.First connect to owb (Design Center) through your repository owner user (ex : REP_OWNER).
2. Import WB_XML_LOAD procedure . and exit to repository owner.
3. connect to owb design center through your repository user (ex : REP_USER)
Create New mapping and drag one Constant Operator and create one attribute, paste / edit following code
'<OWBXMLRuntime>'||
'<XMLSource>'||
'<file>E:\SOURCE\emp.xml</file>'||
'</XMLSource>'||
'<targets>'||
'<target truncateFirst = "FALSE" dateFormat="yyyy.MM.dd">rep_user.emp</target>'||
'</targets>'||
'</OWBXMLRuntime>'
4. Drag pre mapping operator and select WB_XML_LOAD procedure
5. Connect Constant Operator attribute to pre mapping operator.
6. Drag two dummy tables and connect source to target. (ex : drag t1 (table) tab two times and connect.
7. Validate and deploy the mapping.
8. grant necessary grant command to rep_owner user to rep_user user.
(Note : target truncateFirst = "FALSE" by default truncate the table. So you have to give grant privileges
To rep_user , select ,insert, delete privileges.
9. Execute the mapping , and check EMP table. (Note : before loading EMP table delete all records ).
10 . If you want more description please go through the below link

Best method to load XML data into Oracle
Hi,
I have to load XML data into Oracle tables. I tried using different options and have run into a dead end in each of those. I do not have knowledge of java and hence have restricted myself to PL/SQL solutions. I tried the following options.
1. Using DBMS_XMLSave package : Expects the ROWSET and ROW tags. Connot change format of the incoming XML file (Gives error oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: Start of root element expected).
2. Using the XMLPARSER and XMLDOM PL/SQL APIs : Works fine for small files. Run into memory problems for large files (Gives error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError). Have tried increasing the JAVA_POOL_SIZE but does not work. I am not sure whether I am changing the correct parameter.
I have read that the SAX API does not hog memory resources since it does not build the entire DOM tree structure. But the problem is that it does not have a PL/SQL implementation.
Can anyone PLEASE guide me in the right direction, as to the best way to achieve this through PL/SQL ??? I have not designed the tables so am flexible on using purely relational or object-relational design. Although would prefer to keep a purely relational design. (Had tried used object-relational for 1. and purely relational for 2. above)
The XML files are in the following format, (EXAMINEEs with single DEMOGRAPHIC and multiple TESTs)
<?xml version="1.0"?>

Thanks for the help.Please refer to the XSU(XML SQL Utility) or TransX Utility(for Multi-language Document) if you want to load data in XML format into database.
Both of them require special XML formats, please first refer to the following docs:
http://otn.oracle.com/docs/tech/xml/xdk_java/doc_library/Production9i/doc/java/xsu/xsu_userguide.html
http://otn.oracle.com/docs/tech/xml/xdk_java/doc_library/Production9i/doc/java/transx/readme.html
You can use XSLT to transform your document to the required format.
If you document is large, you can use SAX method to insert data into database. But you need to write the code.
The following sample may be useful:

Loading XML files into an 8.0.6 database...
Hi,
I've got an Oracle 8.0.6 instance (Sun E250 Solaris 5.7) with multiple import data feeds. I am currently using SQL*Loader to load this data which are flat text delimited files. My data feeds will soon be supplying XML files instead of these flat files which is great, unfortunately, I will not be able to upgrade in 8.1.7 in time so that I can use the XML parser.
Is there anyway I can use SQL*Loader or some other tool to load XML files into my 8.0.6 database? If there is a way, could someone please send the information I would need to help perform this task?
Thanks for all your help...

Option to load XML data into BI 70
Hi All,
I have read some postings on forums and also have read the "HOW TO load XML data in BW" guide. I am confused when I read the SAP online help documentation for loading XML data .
Question : Out of the 3 options listed below which option is best suited for loading XML data into BW . XML file is going to be provided by 3rd party company ?
Thanks and appreciate any input .
Smith .
Here is what I found for BI 70 EHP1 help :
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/b2/e50138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
Data is generally transferred into SAP BW by means of a data request, which is sent from SAP BW to the source system (pull from the scheduler). You can also send the data to SAP BW from outside the system. This is a data push into SAP BW.
A data push is possible for various scenarios:
● Transferring Data Using the SOAP Service SAP Web AS
● Transferring Data Using Web Services
● Transferring Data Using SAP XI
In all three scenarios, data transfer takes place using transfer mechanisms that are sufficient for Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP); the data transfer is also XML-based.
The SOAP-based transfer of data is only possible for flat structures. You cannot transfer hierarchy data.Hi,
I feel you can go with 2nd option. But still wait for some more inputs from Experts........

I need help with XML Gallery Fade in out transition. somebody please help me
I have my post dont want to duplicate itThe problem doesn't lie with your feed, although it does contain an error - you have given a non-existent sub-category. You need to stick to the categories and sub-categories listed here:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#categories
Subscribing to your feed from the iTunes Store page work as such, but the episodes throw up an error message. The problem lies with your episode media files: you are trying to stream them. Pasting the URL into a browser produces a download (where it should play the file) of a small file which does not play and in fact is a text file containing (in the case of ep.2) this:
[Reference]
Ref1=http://stream.riverratdoc.com/RiverratDoc/episode2.mp3?MSWMExt=.asf
Ref2=http://70.33.177.247:80/RiverratDoc/episode2.mp3?MSWMExt=.asf
You must provide a direct link to the actual mp3 file. Streaming won't work. The test is that if you paste the URL of the media file (as given in the feed) into the address bar of a browser it should play the file. -

Need help with xml video gallery
Hello everyone
I recently bought a xml video gallery. I'm loading the movie externally into another movie. When the xml gallery loads, it cancels all sounds.
I need to figure out where in the actionscription can i reverse the cancellation of sounds. Can anyone help? if possible, I can email, whomever is willing to help, the xml gallery to see if theres another reason the sound is being canceled.
Also, the sound of the gallery doesn't work til you click the volume scroller.

Need help with XML delay URGENT!!!
Hi i need help making a flash movie to load everything from
xml. It has to load text, images and flv, but, it has to load them
and end them at the time said in the xml. So flash loads and
unloade the text or image or video at the time specified in the
XML! PLEASE HELP I NEED THIS DONE TODAY!!!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Contact me by msn [email protected] or send mail or
reply here!!It was probably a little unclear initially (no offence
intended ) whether your problem was with getting the data from XML
or with the sequencing aspect. I assume that its the sequencing
aspect based on your recent reply.
So if it was me I would parse the loaded info into Date
objects for the load and remove times and have this information
handled by some sort of sequencing code.
At its simplest, you could compare the xml-derived date/times
for load/unload with the current system date/time and use a
setInterval function to initiate the load after the calculated
difference in milliseconds has passed. Similar for the removeclip
timing. -
Loading XML Data into Relational Table
Hello,
I receive an XML file generated from another tool (on Windows), I am trying to create a Linux shell script that will gather the needed XML file from my Linux database server, then have Oracle use this file to load the XML data into a relational table. This activity & data will be needed on an ongoing basis.
I have tried this two ways. First, I loaded the XML document into the database and tried to extract the data directly from the document, but that is not working. Now I want to try to read the data directly from the file on the server via select, however I am not getting any data returned. In the Select statement below, I am simply trying to query the data to see what is returned for my testing.
Create Table ci_results_table (transactionID Varchar2(100), //transactionID should be PrimaryKey but was getting NULL value errors during insert test, so removed PK
message Varchar2(200),
ci Varchar2(50),
processeddate xmltype,
status Varchar2(50),
sourcefile VarChar2(100));
select x.*
from XMLTable(
'TSPLoadResults/Results'
PASSING xmltype(bfilename('CMDB_DEVADHOCRESULTS_DIR','LoadResults-HP_146.results.xml'), nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8'))
COLUMNS
transactionID Varchar2(100) PATH 'TransactionID',
Result XMLType PATH 'Result',
Message Varchar2(200) PATH 'Message',
PrimaryKey Varchar2(50) PATH 'PrimaryKey',
ProcessedDate date PATH 'ProcessedDate',
Status Varchar2(50) PATH 'Status',
SourceFile VarChar2(100) PATH 'SourceFileName'
) x
Eventually I will need to build on this to limit the data returned to those records where SourceFileName is like 'HPDS%' and insert what is returned in to the ci_results_table. Attached is a sample Results XML file I am trying to load, It is named "ResultsTransformedtoUnix" because I used dos2Unix to convert it to Unix which may be right or wrong. (The output file I send out has to be transformed to DOS format before the other application can read it). Original file (before Unix conversion) named in script is also attached.
Please help. Thank you!Hi,
I see some wrong things in your query.
1) The obvious one, explaining why you're not getting any data : there's a typo in the XQuery expression, it's "Result" not "Results"
2) ProcessedDate cannot be extracted as a date (at least not directly) since it actually represents a timestamp, use TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE datatype and cast back to DATE in the SELECT clause
3) transactionID is an attribute, it must be accessed with '@' (or 'attribute::' axis)
4) If the file encoding is truly ISO-8859-1 as the prolog suggests, then do not use AL32UTF8 but the corresponding charset name : WE8ISO8859P1
Here's the working query :
select x.transactionID
, x.Message
, x.Primarykey
, cast(x.ProcessedDate as date) ProcessDate
, x.Status
, x.SourceFile
from XMLTable(
'/TSPLoadResults/Result'
PASSING xmltype(bfilename('XML_DIR','LoadResults-HP_146.results.xml'), nls_charset_id('WE8ISO8859P1'))
COLUMNS
transactionID Varchar2(100) PATH '@transactionID',
Message Varchar2(200) PATH 'Message',
PrimaryKey Varchar2(50) PATH 'PrimaryKey',
ProcessedDate timestamp with time zone PATH 'ProcessedDate',
Status Varchar2(50) PATH 'Status',
SourceFile VarChar2(100) PATH 'SourceFileName'
) x
Using this query directly over the file will only perform decently (for large files) on 11.2.0.4 and onwards.
On prior versions, first load the file in a (temporary) XMLType column with Binary XML storage and SELECT from there.
because I used dos2Unix to convert it to Unix which may be right or wrong.
This conversion shouldn't be necessary. -
Load XML File into temporary tables using sql loader
Hi All,
I have an XML file as below. I need to insert the contents into a temporary staging table using sql loader. Please advice how I need to do that.
For example Portfolios should go into a seperate table, and all the tags inside it should be populated in the columns of the table.
Family should go into a seperate table and all the tags inside it should be populated in the columns of the table.
Similarly offer, Products etc.

#1 - {thread:id=474031}, which is basically storing the XML in an Object Relational structure for parsing
#2 - Dump the XML into either an XMLType based table or column and use SQL (with XMLTable) to create a view that parses the data. This would be the same as the view shown in the above post.
Don't use sql*loader to parse the XML. I was trying to find a post from mdrake about that but couldn't. In short, sql*loader was not build as an XML parser so don't try to use it that way. -
Loading XML file into non-XML table(s)
HI Gentlemen,
I successfully registered my schema and generated an xml-based table and a TYPE. However, I do not have the table that would correspond to this TYPE. How do I get to it? How can I use FTP or HTTP protocol to load actual data from the corresponding .xml file into this table?
Thanks in advance, kind regards from
Miklos HERBOLYYou need to include the XML schema location information in the XML documents to point to the registered XML schema.
For example,
If you register an XML schema to XML DB with "http://www.example.com/po.xsd"
In the XML document, the xml schema location can be:
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.example.com/po.xsd http://www.example.com/po.xsd">

How to load XML files into ORACLE8i database?
SAP data is being extracted into XML format (via IDOC) files which are being transferred to an ORACLE8i box. There will be a large amount of data transferred on a daily basis which will include updates and inserts. From all the information that I have read on this subject there are 2 options available :
1. XML-SQL Utility - which converts XML into INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE SQL. There does not appear to be that much functionality available by this method for decodes, transformations on the input data.
2. SQL*Loader - There was a statement in 1 piece of documentation stating that SQL*Loader could be used for loading XML format data files. I cannot however find any further information on how this is achieved or how it works.
If anyone has any experience in loading XML format data files using either of the above methods (preferably SQL*Loader as it has more functionality) then could you please provide me with examples or guidance on this matter? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am not familiar with XML format data files. I am from an Oracle 7.3 background but do not have much experience with Oracle 8 onwards.
Disclaimer.
Any views expressed in the above paragraphs are my own and not that of Hewlett Packard Ltd.We are loading XML into our database using CLOB datatypes. We don't use the XSU for inserts as it is too slow. We parse the incoming XML document into a PL/SQL record type and then build a generic insert. This might not work well if you have many tags to parse into columns. We also store the entire XML CLOB into a column without parsing the individual tags into separate columns. We then use Intermedia Text for fast, index-based searching within the XML column.
Check out The Oracle XML Portal website for code examples on how to do this:
