Need help on ifs export/import

What is the best way to deliver an ifs database to a customer site where we do not have the ability to access our development machine? This delivery must take place via CD. In the past, we have delivered by exporting/importing.
It is my understanding that export/import is not an option with ifs?? I read in another post that this will be addressed in a future release. Any ideas on what release and when?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Import/Export support in iFS is planned for 1.2 release. However, Oracle in general don't commit to features of future releases before the actural release.

  • NEED HELP FAST!! Importing stills into FCP 6

    Hello everyone,
I have tried searching for a bit, but time is of the absolute essence. I am down to the wire on a project, and need to do some finishing things.
What I need to do is to import still images (from DSLR) into an HD timeline. I am working in an HDV 1080i60 sequence at 29.97 fps. Here is what I am doing...
    - Import the particular image
    - Everything looks fine in the viewer when I double click on it
    - When I take it to the timeline though and open it in the canvas, it looks like absolute sh**. The colors look fine I suppose, but it looks incredibly pixelated.
I have tried exporting the video, thinking that it might just be in the canvas, but that didn't fix anything.
So, it is not a problem with rendering, as some have said where I have searched... It could be a problem with size, but I am not sure.
If anyone knows anything, please post in here or PM me asap. Thank you for your help in advance.
    Cheers,
    Ryan

When you load an image or clip from the Browser into the Viewer, it is displayed at it's native resolution. But once you place it in the Timeline, it displays at the FCP Sequence resolution. Also note that the image will need to be rendered FULLY before viewing. Go to the Sequence->Render menus and make sure all render types are checked ... especially FULL.
Also keep in mind that FCP's Canvas window only shows a proxy of full quality.

  • Need help for printing/exporting in the right format

    Hi,
i'm layouting a magazine for my graduation class.  And I almost finished it, but I've got a problem with printing it like I want it to be printed. I use the newest Trial Version of Adobe InDesign. The format of the magazine is A4, but when I export it as PDF (printing is the same) two pages (each A5) are exported on one horizontal A4 page. I want to have each page on one A4. Can somebody help me and say what I have to do, to get it work in my way?
I hope you can help me, and I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but InDesign is a very complicated Software
    Thanks

Exporting to PDF shouldn't resize the page. Does the exported PDF look the way you want it to?
Here's all you need to know to export the file:
File > Adobe PDF Presets > (pick a format - if you're printing from a desktop printer High Quality Print is a good choice)
It might give you a warning about Transparency Blend Space which you can change under Edit > Transparency Blend Space
Make sure spreads is not checked.
If the problem is happening from Acrobat, check all of the settings in your print dialogue.
    Good luck!

  • IFS export - import

Where can I find detailed information about exporting and then importing IFS data
between 2 different computers (database instances)?
Note: IFS data to export/import contain custom objects, including custom DirectoryUsers

    Valean,
If you look in the 9iFS Administration guide there is a section there on the ifsexportcontent and related tools. These give you the ability to export content and also users and groups.
Should be what you are after.

  • Need help on optimizing an import

    Hi,
we run a medium-sized (70.000 items) webshop for a customer, using oracle 9i in the latest version.
Once a month, this customer wants to import the whole items of one supplier. The importfile is splitted up using php and written into an (import-)table. This is done within 5-10minutes.
The import itself should work in this way: new items (=not in item-table, but in importfile) should be inserted in a special table. Items which already exists in the item-tables should be updated and items which are not in the importfile should be set to inactive.
    So I do two selects.
The first one joins the import-table with the items-tables, using an outer join at the product code. The pure statement runs ~4,5 seconds to finish.
The second one selects all (active) items of this supplier, also counting how many item variants exists. It's a bit more complex (and not the best SQL, I guess), but it needs ~6,5 seconds to finish.
Ok, this two cursors are called after each other, so no nested selects.
I do the following: Loop through the first cursor, check if item exists (no new query, all done by the cursor-statement). If item exists, the script builds a update-string and execute it, using execute immediate. If items doesn't exist, it will be inserted into a other table.
After this first cursor, I loop through the second cursor and at a special condition, I update the items-table and set the item to inactive. This is done by a normal update-script.
After finishing all of this, I send the commit. On any errors a rollback.
For me, that sounds fine. But: This script runs for 4 hours! I do not understand why. The cursor-statements itself runs for 10-12 seconds (in summary). So even all the updates should be done in ~30minutes. 70.000 records to search through, should be a morning exercise for oracle.
There is a index at the table, but this index should be rebuild after finishing the script, or is this my fault? Is there a implicit commit done after eacg execute immediate statement? Or is there any fault in this workflow, I did not see yet?
    Thanks for any help :(

  • Need help: Problems with exported Dreamweaver html file in different browsers

I'm trying to send out a newsletter, and had our designer create it in Dreamweaver, and then export and html file which we uploaded.  For some reason it looks wrong on Mac's, Gmail, and a few issues with Outlook.  Does anyone know how to help with this, or had to work around this problem in the past?
I've attached our html file as well.
We're an eco startup with limited time and budget - so any help you have would be so appreciated.
    Thank you!!

Palo Alto Joins the Ban Against
             Non-Recyclable Materials
This Spring, Palo Alto joined the list of more than 30 cities and counties in California who are making good on their efforts toward reducing their greenhouse gas emissions
by enacting partial or comprehensive bans on polystyrene (PS) foam and/or non-recyclable disposable foodservice containers. Around the same time, a California statewide ban on the use of PS containers was tabled before reaching the State Assembly floor. Representative
Jerry Hill, one of AB 1358’s sponsors, pulled the bill due
to concerns addressed in the Appropriations committee hearing of the bill, regarding the fiscal impacts which
were not addressed in bill’s contents.
Largely represented by the California Restaurant Association, opponents of AB 1358 lobbied legislative representatives and argued there would be a negative fiscal impact on struggling restaurant owners and their customers in order to accommodate the more expensive alternatives to PS containers.     There are the unquantifiable and “hidden” costs of contaminating our bodies and environment which would far surpass the fiscal impact on the plastics, restaurants and consumer industries. Studies published by the Foundation for Advancements in Science and Education have indicated that varying levels of styrene residues
are present in 100% of all human fat tissue in the
United States, as PS products are found to lose weight after in contact with hot or fatty/acidic foods and liquids, causing migration of the styrene into the food or fluid, ending up in the human body. On the high end, the levels were “one third of levels known to cause neurotoxic symptoms”. In the environment,
PS is rarely recycled and does not biodegrade.     Supporting safer alternatives to polystyrene, in addition to the collection infrastructure and processing mechanisms for the compostable and recyclable products would help create more green jobs in the long run and would be a move in the right direction away from unnecessary harm

  • Need help editing and exporting using Final Cut Express - why does video end up with judder?!!

I've imported material from my JVC HD Camera and have edited a 52 minute sequence on Final Cut Express. I've exported it as a Quicktime Movie and it's 43GB. How do I get this on to DVD?
I've tried using iDVD to export but as you can imagine, the quality is not great. There's a judder on it. I have no idea where to start with using applications like MPEG Streamclip to convert the clip so that when it does get on to DVD, it doesn't judder. Can anyone help? This is driving me insane!!

I've exported it as a Quicktime Movie and it's 43GB. How do I get this on to DVD?
First step - just use this export as the import into iDVD.  iDVD will take care of the necessary encoding to fit it on a DVD disk.  The file size is of no concern; the only concern is the length (in time) of the video ... iDVD can fit about 2 hours of video on single layer DVD media; about 4 hours on dual-layer DVD media.
Regarding the judder, this is not specifically an iDVD issue. Do you see the judder when you play the video  in the FCE Canvas window?

  • Need help for school! Imported images suddenly pixelated (CS6, Windows)

    Hi guys,
Adobe InDesign CS6 Windows I'm a frequent user of InDesign, but I now suddenly am facing problems. Note: I use InDesign not only for print material, but also for creating PDF. I therefore do not necessarily need 300 dpi. Before: copy + paste from Photoshop or even web images into InDesign used to work. The images looked fine on screen and while printing. Now, when I import or copy + paste, all images look pixelated at 100%, high quality and overprint preview. It looks like InDesign is importing images 25% larger than their original size. If I resize the imported image to 75%, the image looks normal. 100% is always pixelated now! Did I mess up some sort op setting? I never had this problem before. Please help me, need this for school assignment!
    Thanks in advance,
    Justin

First of all, thank you for your reply. I just checked an example image and both are 72 dpi, in InDesign as well as in Photoshop. I even created a document for web in InDesign, using the 'web' & digital publishing option (which is 72 dpi) and placed the same image. At 100% pixelated, when resizing to 75% crisp. I don't know what to do..
The thing is.. I've never had this problem for years.. with importing images. Did I change settings or?
First one is Photoshop, second in InDesign (top left is import at 100%, bottom right is import resized to 75%). In case images are too small to see, full size: http://justinwust.com/photoshop.jpg & http://justinwust.com/indesign.jpg

  • Need help with the export settings on FCPX

I recently upgraded to Final Cut Pro X from Express and am loving all the new features and capabilities that come with it. I just helped a friend with filming and editing a play at his school. After I finished editing it, the final MOV file is about 11 GB. Pretty big. When I try to put that file into iDVD to try to burn a DVD, my Mac begins to heat up really fast and I'm worried that this might overheat the processor.
I've tried other means of compressing the file without losing quality, like Handbrake, but to no avail.

I assume, your Project is ~20min, correct?
You exported a Master File = proRes, FCPX' internal intermediate  codec, not meant for 'distribution'.
Choose one of the 'Apple device' presets in the share dialogue, in the drop-down options, change device to 'computer' to create a 'universal' mp4.
    concerning 'heat':
Don't use your laptop in bed while doing tasks with high computation.
The bottom of device is needed for cooling.
    Any 'soft' surface prohibits that…
If Mac really gets too hot, it will automatically switch-off - no worries..........

  • Need help with automating text import/pasting/macro between Photoshop and Excel

    Hey everyone,
I'm working on a large project now that seems extremely daunting, but I was hoping there would be some way to automate it using either Actions or some sort of macro program.  Here's the gist:
I've created a template with 24 differently sized text boxes in the photoshop image file.  Each text feild has unique text that needs to be be pasted into it, which has been compiled in excel.  This wouldn't be too dificult to do, except I have to recreate this image and all 24 text fields aproximately 350 times.  None of the text boxes will remain static through all 350 images as text is the title, description, and demographic ratings/percentages/data for the topic of each image.  I did something similar manually last year and it took me about 3, non-stop 18 hour days to complete it.
    (the test template)
Can anyone think of any way I could automate this process?  I'm thinking some sort of macro that copies cell 1 in excel, switches to photoshop, opens layer 1, pastes, switches back to excel, goes to cell 2, copies, back to photoshop, layer 2, pastes, etc, etc, then does a 'save as' in photoshop and revets to PS layer 1, EX cell 1 (on tab 2) to start the process all over again.  I have no idea if this would work or if there is another way to do this but I would really appreciate any help or advice you guys could give.  I don't have really any expreience using PS Actions or macro programs/scripts, so I may be over my head or overlooking a really simple way to do this.  If there's a way to do it, I'm persistent enough to figure it out and get it working. Doesn't really matter how it gets done, I just need to fill those text boxes as best as I can and as quickly as I can.
Any help you all could give is really appreciated.

Have you read up on the Variables support in Photoshop?

  • I need help.  Is exported deinterlaced mp4 or QT video possible?

I've tried everything I can think of but I can't get iMovieHD 6 to export non-interlaced mp4 or QT video.
My camcorder is set record progressive. The video plays in iMovie as progressive. But every time I export a video clip the clip is always interlaced. I am exporting at 720x480 at 8 mbits/sec and I don't about the file size as long as it isn't straight DV.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm...how can progressive footage be converted to interlaced?!
It is possible with the right software. You take a quality hit, but it is possible.
I am having the same problem. I have 1080i footage and it will not deinterlace. The option may as well not be there, because it has no effect on the output.
I am going to check out this MPEG Streamclip program you speak of. It is only going to be useful if it can spit out at least a 720p file out the other end, otherwise iMovie will have to convert it. Now you have a video that is not even edited yet and it is a 3rd generation render. Further more. This initial video I edited is 25 minutes long. I rendered it out to 1280x768 and it took my MacBook 4.5 hours to render, single pass!
Thankfully I do not actually own a highdef camcorder. This is footage from a friend I am editing. Come on Apple! I am not going to spend hundreds on a Pro app to get de-interlaced 1080i anyway so come and fix this!
