i hear we can download games on to our ipods is this true? if so where can i get these?
another is why is it that i charge my nano for 3 hrs like it tells me too but the battery goes down faster than when i frist used it? what the heck is up with that, it says it should last for 14 hrs

Yes you can get other games for your ipod nano i think the most popular one is called doom. But you would need to install Ipod linux. This would void your warrenty and it can mess the ipod nano up and it wont work again and no support from it with Apple what so ever.

Need Help On 2 Things

I need help with my router and setting it up with a DSL modem to forward ports. And I need to know how to upgrade my firmware when there is no version listed on my router.
My first problem is setting up my forwarded ports. I have a DSL modem Actiontec Model GT701 with Qwest & My router is a WTR54GS router with linksys. I've tried many things and still cannot seem to get my ports forwarded. I've set up a Static IP address already on the PC that is currently working fine (since I can post here and browse the internet). I read some stuff and tried it on the site here to no avail. I do not use the router as a wireless router. Instead I have the ethernet cables running to it & from it. I have 2 machines hooked up to the router & modem.
My second problem is I went to upgrade my firmware but there is no version number on my linksys router. I do not see a selection for a router with no version number.

I think the problem you may have is the fact that your router and modem both share the same ip address. I am having the same problem with my setup. I have the same modem as you, but have an (EHOME router model # EH-100). I was having the same problem trying to go wired from my modem to my router split off to two pcs.
I contacted my tech support from ehome this morning and they were well aware of the problem that the actiontec modem shared the same ip address as my router.
I am at work right now, but have to call them back when I get home with the serial# off the router so they can assign a new ip address. Apparently everything should communicate fine after this setup is complete.
It will be a dynamic setup and the PPPoE that Qwest uses will not have an affect.
You might want to call linksys tech help and explain this problem to see if they can switch your router ip for you. Hope this helps.
I will post on here later to let you know the status of my situation.

HELP! Need help linking Nano to existing Nike+ account

Hope someone can help as I'm going out of my mind. I searched but couldn't find another topic like this.
I had to restore my nano (2nd gen) to its original factory settings in itunes, which erased all songs and data. My Nano is working great now, but it's no longer linked to my Nike Plus account. When I now connect the restored Nano, under the Nike + tab in itunes I cannot check the box to automatically send my workout data to Nike+. The only option is to register. I'm already registered but there isn't an option to link to an existing account?
After the restore on my nano, how do I link it in itunes to my existing Nike+ account that has all my run data stored? Like I said, the only option on Itunes is to register and that's not what I want to do since I already am registered!
I guess this would be the same problem if I bought a new Nano so I'm sure this question has been raised before.
Please help! I need this fixed before my run tomorrow! Thanks folks!

Yes, I checked the link you provided below and couldn't find any topic with a similar problem. I already did my run for the day so won't know until tomorrow if the receiver and sensor gather info but everything appears like it will work just fine. When I plug the receiver in the Nike+ option pops up in the menu and it looks ready to go. It even recognizes the sensor so I think that's okay.
I did email Nike Plus but they haven't answered yet.
When I connect the Nano to itunes, I cannot check or uncheck the box to automatically send the info. The only option is to "create a Nike account." I clicked this and tried to just add my existing account and it wouldn't let me saying it already exists.
There has to be a simple way to do this. Can't imagine you lose everything if you get a new Nano or have to restore one.
Maybe more options will pop up after my run tomorrow morning when I plug in the Nano to itunes with a run to send to Nike+
I'll let you know. Until then, any other suggestions would really be appreciated!

Need help! nano isn't recognized by windows!

I hooked my brand new ipod nano up to my computer and it appears to be charging. I have done the 5 Rs one hundred times each. It shows up in the device manager with a yellow question mark and exclamation point. When I plug it in, it makes the little dinging noise, and sometimes asks if I want to install the new hardware, but it can't find the driver to install it. It doesn't appear under My COmputer and if I open iPod updater, it says "plug in an ipod to update it."
I have read that sometimes it needs formatting, but under properties it says it is formatted for windows, and I can't find it in My Computer to format it.
It is recognized by other computers. I'm so frustrated! Whats going wrong?

try these steps to format the ipod then restore it with the updater
open computer management
double-click Storage
click Disk Management
choose the ipod in the volumes listed here
right click and hit format
choose fat32 for format
and leave the options unchecked and allocation at default
format
afterwards restore with the updater

Need help MPEG-2 thing

SOMEONE HELP PLEASE
I have QT Pro then I got the MPEG-2 to export movies to my ipod with audio which is the main problem.
1) When you export movies to the ipod, say its about 20 mins, how long should it take? It takes hours for me and then it didnt even work.
2) When you install MPEG-2 component, it says: You have installed software that may not be available for currently open movies. If ay movies are open, you may need to close and reopen them before they play correctly.
3)How do you use the MPEG-2 component?
4)I think I am missing something because I exported a "mixed" movie to mpeg format and still no sound came out.

The MPEG-2 Playback Component has certain limits:

If you are trying to encode a DVD formatted file (MPEG-2 to QuickTime) you'll need other third party software to export the audio portion of the file. QT Pro doesn't export the audio from any muxed track file format.
If you're using the new H.264 video codec settings you should allow at least 5 minutes for each minute of video. MPEG-4 settings are much faster at exporting.

Really Need Help ! (Two things)

First off, i am trying to open a project in Final Cut, but can't find the project file itself. I go into finder, type the name, and I find all the sequences, all the clips and everything, but there is nothing I can specifically open. I really need to be able to open this project, so any help would be appreciated.
Also, whenever I try to export anything I get an "Error : Out of Disc Space" message. I have checked all my scratch discs, and all of that and made sure it was going to my hard drive that has 300 some GB on it. I have also tried trashing the preferences without any success.

FCE project files are normally located in your +Final Cut Express Documents+ folder. If it's not there, it could be anywhere. You might be better off looking in your +Final Cut Express Documents > Autosave Vault+ folder for a backup copy of your project file - if you do that, copy the project file to another folder (preferably your Final Cut Express Documents folder) and rename it before you open it.)

This usually indicates that the drive you are trying to export to is formatted as FAT32. It needs to be formatted as Mac OS Extended. Don't reformat the drive unless you backup anything you need to keep first. Reformatting erases the entire drive.
A lot more specific details from you would be helpful.

Need help with nano

I Got a 4Gb nano for my birtday in June and 3 days ago i plugged it in and it said i needed an update. i satarted the update until a message came up and said it couldnt find some file. i decided then that it really didnt need the update so i disconected it. it then showed the folder sign so i reconnected it and tried to update it. when i disconected it again it showed a Battery with a ! and wouldnt turn on again for around 20 min. it's done this three times now and the time it takes to turn back on increases with each time. i have tried everything on this website with no avail so if anyone has any sugestions please tell me.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

According to the Genius Bar, my HD is dying. I need help with such things as making a boot disk, making sure back up is complete, etc. I have a White early 2008 MacBook running 10.7.3. It is backed up regularly with Time Machine to an external drive.

I am not a real tech type person. MAcBook white early 2008 running 10.7.3. I know I will need a boot disk to restart the computer after I have installed the new drive. I have purchased a Hitachi 500 G, 7200 RPM to install. The computer is backed up regularly using Time Machine to an external hard drive. I nned to know all the steps I need to do before physically changing the hardware.

Do you have your original drive backed up? Is it still working? If so I'd buy an external enclosure and boot from that. Then format your new drive and use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your old drive to the new one.
If you don't have a backup, I'd buy an external drive, use carbon copy cloner to do a backup, then install the new drive and clone back to it.

Need Help new Nano mp3 player, not really sure how to use it

I cant get any music on the player, im using morpheus downloaded files, is this a problem or is there a way for me to reformat them or what. Im new to this so i really have no idea what to do. Thanks.

What format are the files in? As far as I can see Morpheus is a P2P file sharing program, not a specific file format so it depends on which files you download. The Nano will play mp3 and wma files.
As long as they are one of these types of file you should be able to download them to your PC and then drag'n'drop them onto your Nano using Windows Explorer.
