Need help on Oracle Finance installation

I have had some problems while installing Oracle Finance (e-business suite).I was using the auto installation wizard and the problem is the Java path cannot be found.Please help me in this regard.

Hi. Have you a "Installation Guide" ? In this guide you can read about JAVA_HOME enviroment on your OS level.
Like this JAVA_HOME = c:\jdk_1.4.2_05
Check the PATH of the user, it should contain jdk/bin,
for example c:\jdk_1.4.2_05\bin or /opt/java14/bin, etc
Java path should not contain spaces !

It is not booting up.
I dont have current backups.But my database physical files are in the disk.
Controlfile,datafiles and redo log files are there.

You are saying that ,I need to keep oracle root folder same as that of my old installation ,and copy control files,redo log and data files in exactly same folders as that of old database,and then start the database?

Need help on Oracle Report format

Hi,
I need help on Oracle Reports. I am generating a report in excel sheet. I have a column which is 13 digit number (In database it is CHAR datatype). In excel sheet it showing some thing like 9.78381E+12. I want to show complete number like 9783805591331.
Also sometimes leading zero's are not showing when my column values is something like 0098794859583. I need to show the leading zero's as well in excel without losing them.
Below are the parameters i am using for the report
DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET AND DESTYPE=FILE
My Oracle 9i developer version.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.

An additional quote string ' character with the number field will solve this problem but if u want to display this field in report then it will look ugly

It that other thread I suggested using SQL*Loader or External Tables might be a more suitable solution. Find out more.

Seems like some who have tried two devices on the JMICRON IDE port have had trouble. Try without the hard drive and see if you get that error. If that is the case I would try a PATA to SATA converter for your hard drive and connect it to one of the Intel SATA Ports.

I have a similar problem with the OATS v9.20 installation. I did manage to install it on our main load generator (running Windows 2003 Server) but when it came to installing OpenScript on my laptop (XP SP3) the install 'hangs' at 78%.
I did raise a support call with Oracle about this (there was a bug report generated) but the case is still open.
I've been waiting to hear when the next version was due (in the hope that this might have been resolved) but by the sounds of it there could still be an issue on WinXP with v9.21?
For reference I originally logged this with the following in the description:
The installation looks like it is failing because of a double backslash in a path ending "OATS920\\bin\copyOUI.bat". We then get an error in javaw.exe which when OK'ed then stops the installation at the stage "creating 'Uninstall Oracle Application Testing Suite' in folder 'Oracle Application Testing Suite' ".

Need Help on Oracle BI Server Service

Hi there,
I would need help on to start Oracle BI Server service start.
I have installed OBIEE 10.1.3.4 version and I've been working on creating repository and creating Answers & Dashboards etc..,
Today, I was working on to point other repository in NQSConfig.INI file and when I tried to Start Oracle BI Server Service I get below error:
" *Could not start the Oracle BI Server service on Local Computer*
*Error 1064 An exception occurred in the service when handling the control request*"
It's been working, just I got this error today only, all other services are working fine.
Has anyone got this error?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are right, I changed repo name and changed back to original one and and Service is starting now.
I think something missing space or format issue when I add other entry in the NQSconfig.INI file, Ihave to follow same synatx.
Now I am good to go.

Incognito mode is a Google Chrome setting when you open a new window (Cmd+Shift+N on a Mac Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) It opens a "private" window with no cookies and no tracking. The problem with it is that when you disable cookies, your license files are not sent to the site (whetehr it's YouTube or xFinity or any other that uses license files for paid content) and it treats you as if you're a first time visitor. Paid videos won't play wihtout the cookies sending the license file info.
This isn't a Flash Player setting. It's in Chrome. I did some research and according to Google, "Incignito" mode is off by default, and can ONLY be activate by the keyboard shortcut. 1. This is a CC installation.
2. Yes, I am logged in as the admin and I have no anti-virus other than Microsoft Essentials enabled.
3. This is a download installation.
To give even more info that might help, I am using a Windows 7 machine with more than enough capability to run CC. I had installed Photoshop, Illustrator, among other apps successfully. I then tried the Acrobat XI installation. Acrobat XI downloaded and extracted, but when it started installing it froze around 50% and then I received the installation failed error from Windows. Once that was confirmed the CC install progress finishes but shows failure. The More Info reveals the error I pasted in above. Afterward, none of the CC apps worked properly and had to be uninstalled. So, next I installed the CC downloader and tried to start installing Acrobat XI first but the same error occurred. That's when I got frustrated and posted my original message. My limited knowledge leads me to think the error issue lies in the AcroPro.msi file but I have no idea what that is or how to find, correct, or install it.
Thanks again for any help you can provide. I'm really frustrated that I'm paying for something that I can't use.

Need help on Oracle Driver

I am using Oracle 10g and I want to set up ODBC at Control Panel(Administrative Tools).
I have to driver in ODBC to setup New Data Source fro Oracle, that is
1. Oracle in OraClient11g_home1
2. Oracle in OraDB10g_home1
When in choose the Oracle in OraClient11g_home1 driver. The TNS Service Name did not list up.
But when i choose Oracle in OraDB10g_home1 driver , the TNS Service Name will list up.
Why it happend?
I need to used Oracle in OraClient11g_home1 driver because i need to used ODP.NET.
The tnsnames.ora for Oracle in OraClient11g_home1 are located at C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\client_1\Network\Admin.
The tnsnames.ora for OraDB10g_home1 are located at C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\NETWORK\ADMIN

Need help installing oracle 8.1.7 on RH 8.0

I'm a newbie to linux red hat 8.0
and I'm trying to install oracle 8.1.7 on red hat 8.0
I keep getting all these error message and half the instructions i read i cannot find thoughts files that need to be modified.
Can someone please point me into the right direction.
Basically instructions that a dummy can follow been new to Olin in all.

NI don't believe this is th issue.
The system just hangs when trying to run the installer. I think the problem is due to the Pentium 4 processor (like the Microsoft bug where you need copy the whole installation to disc, rename one of the .dll files and install from the staging area just created).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Need Help on Oracle BI Applications

Hi,
I'm trying to implement Oracle BI Applications. For that I have installed Oracle BI Applications 7.9.4 and Informatica PowerCenter7.1.4 and performed the configuration settings as specified in "Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Installation and Configuration Guide". I did all the steps mentioned in 'Chapter 4. Installing and Configuring Oracle BI Applications on Windows'. After performing these steps I configured the HR Analytics, for this I followed 'Chapter 12. Configuring Oracle HR Analytics'. I did not do some steps that said 'Do if required' other than this I performed all the steps.
After doing all the above setups, I configured the seeded rpd (OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd). But when I tried to login to presentation services to view the built-in dashboards, most of the reports are showing 'No Result'. Can I know what else need to be done to view the data in all the dashboards.

As my last DWH load was in March 2008, I expect to have year 2000 in the "CURRENT_YEAR" variable feeded with third column of the query. Executing this query directly against the DWH gives me the expected result, but in Presentation Services I still receive the value of 2008 as CURRENT_YEAR.
How this can be improved?
p.s. I saved and checked in the Repository changes and restarted both Presentation Services and BI Server windows services.
