Need help on real life usage of Aggregate functions

Hi All,
I'm preparing for 9i certification 1st paper and I'm now looking at aggregate functions. Could you somebody guide me to any link or source of information about the various various aggregate functions like CORR, COVAR_POP, COVAR_SAMP, DENSE_RANK etc. knowing the real life implementation would help me better understand those functions.

Em..i just need some advice about choosing correct career path.I graduated with a first class in IT with business information science in 2009. In 2009 after looking for jobs for few months i took a manager post in a petrol station which i never wanted.(Due to the credit crunch & the Family financial reasons) .Then unfortunately i had to stay out of work for 18months due to a serious spinal code operation i had to face.now in 2011 July im fit & ready to start my life again. but im lost where to start/ which career path to choose. (i've still got the job at the petrol station as the manager)
ive liked data base management subject when i was in the University so, Ive been reading OCA-051 & interested on OCA qualification I just want to know what are the possible jobs i can apply if i get the certification? Basically what should i do to get any IT related job? :( ( i dont like programming)..

Thanks.You'll sit on your bum and ruin your back again with most IT jobs. With your government shrinking, OCA qualification won't have much worth unless you personally know someone in the private sector that needs help. An operator job with your petrol company (assuming it's not just a mom 'n pop station) would probably require heavy lifting.
IT is a good, solid, growing career path, but most of the work is still programming, and most ways up to better jobs go through that experience. You might be an exception if you have a way to join other skills with your IT education, such as business analysis or sales or web prettyfying. Perhaps the determinants are your personality and goals.
I know, it's tough, but if you are honest with yourself and check out some of the "what color is my parachute" kinds of career advice books, you can find a happy medium. There actually are some benefits in starting a career during economically troubled times, but you only see that in retrospect. You have to decide on goals, pursue them vigorously, and reevaluate when it doesn't work for you.

Given that your example mentions IComparable I suppose you're talking specifically about binary search trees, not any binary tree. In that case it's unlikely that you'll see anyone using a binary tree directly. People use collections such as SortedDictionary and
such collections are usually implemented using binary search trees.
Note that btree isn't a good abbreviation for binary tree, there is such a data structure called B-Tree and it's not the same thing as binary tree. Incidentally B-Trees are also used for searching - databases use them for indexes and filesystems
use them to store directory entries.

Needs help: x220 battery life ,6 Cell

Last week ,I received my x220.IPS,i5-2520.
But shortly I found that the battery life is too short.I have seen many reviews said that they tested their x220,and their machines will last for 7 hrs or more if just playing viedos or browse pages.
And my poor laptop,if I only use it for internet iexplore and MSN,it will only last for 3 or 3.5 hours,the battery mode which I choose is energy saver,and the brightness or screen is 9,I don't know if there is somthing problem with my battery or laptop...
And other thing is that when i charge my battery ,from 99% to 100%,it will take half an hour to comlete that ,although it display "charge will be comlete in 2 min."...
I use the everest to test my battery ,and the battery consumption is 0%,but the designed capacity is less than the full charge capacity....is that normal?

Screen brightness 9 is pretty bright and will drain the battery quicker but off hand something fishy does seem up with your battery. Hopefully someone else will know more

Need help with Hard Disk usage selection.

I am going to get a Mac Pro and I am goint to probably use Final Cut Studio and Photoshop. This is the Hard Disk setup I was thinking of:
Bay 1:WD Raptor X 150GB - OS X and some big applications.
Bay 2:Stock 250GB - Downloads and some programs
Bay 3:750GB Seagate - Music, photos, and videos (Multimedia)
Bay 4:120GB - Scratch Disk for Final Cut Studio and Photoshop
I need recommendations especially about the scratch disk. I need to know if the scratch disk is recommended to have a specific size or speed. Also, instead of the 750GB drive, I would probably wait becaus Seagate might releases a 1TB drive.

Would be nice if we could unleash those other two SATA ports sitting unused untiil there are PCI Express controllers. And are there any drive 'kits' or something in the wings to mount two extra drives? do-able?
If you need 400GB for music, photos and video, then yes, 750GB makes sense. And you think you might want/need 1TB? Given the problems RAIDing those "super size" Seagate's and the unacceptable I/O on some drives reported by Barefeats...
Backup concerns: SATA drives in a universal case with hot-swap drive bays so you can use same SATA as you have internally, and where 750GB Seagate would be nice - and expandable. And where a FW800 interface would be acceptable and offer decent performance (maybe even Oxford 912 "RAID" FW).
For now, it might make sense temporarily to use external for one drive, and reserve the internal drive bays for things like scratch and RAID.
With SoftRAID 3.5.x and 3 x 500GB drives, you could create a stripped RAID using the outer tracks and still have non-RAID or even 2nd RAID using the remaining space.
I would not use 120GB drive for anything. 320 (or 300GB because they are affordable and fast) as the smallest density capacity (except for Raptor of course).
Two 500GB drives, or two 750's if the bugs or problems get fixed, and using those in RAID? Heck, remove the 250GB and get 3rd.

The output displays data for all the datafiles. But when i check the free space, its much lesser than actual free space. Is this has something to do with High Water Mark? All the data is in MB.

This is because the script is WRONG.
This is a lesson for you, if you are on 10g on higher, rather to trust the database control, which has already facilities for this, instead of someone developing a script. At least the Oracle provided material is correct.
Admittedly, it does require you to read documentation and to find out things on your own.

Need help on mapping of obsolete and new function module

We are working on a upgradation tool in which i have to repace the obsolete function module "HELP_VALUES_GET_WITH_CHECKTAB
" by "F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST
". I am not sure about the functionalities of these function modules as i have never used it. you can ckeck the input field "Account Number" whether it is numeric or Alphabet using *"Conversions ->Fixvalues"*
Steps:
1. Extract first character of input using *" Text -> substring"* -- start position 0 , char count 1
2. In Fix Value table you have to give following values:

Need help with passing a variable in a function

Hello. I am working on a Flash app that needs to play videos. I have code using netstream that works great for one movie. The problem is I have 3 movies I want to play and I need to figure out how to replace the string variable with the correct path info depending on what button is pushed. I'm thinking this needs to be an array which I have coded but it is not working. Here is the code:

This is just set for two buttons for testing. I keep getting the "1120: Access of undefined property event." right at the "nsStream.play(strSource[clickedIndex]);" line. The variable strSource is what I am trying to pass different movie paths into, but I am having no luck. Am setting this up right or is there another way to do this? It's saying missing right parenthesis. Start by finding out if we've got all out matching brackets. Counting from the start of that statement i.e. SUBSTR on line 12, we have 7 open brackets and 6 close brackets. So there does appear to be a problem with brackets. However if we take a step back and look at lines 12 to 16, this is actually a single statement. It's a call to the SUBSTR function and within it it has calls to RTRIM, XMLAGG etc. For the statement as a whole there are the same number of left and right parenthesis so the problem is related to something else. Something that is leading the syntax check to think it has reached the end of a statement and hasn't found enough closing parethesis.
The issue here appears to be that we have the token PCNAMES at the end of line 13 but syntactically that's not correct. We can't have that token there because it's appearing in the middle of a function call. PCTNAMES is actually a column alias but it's just in the wrong place. We need it to be an alias for the whole expression from line 12 to 16. So make the change and see what happens...

Need help creating a form using show/hide functionality

I'm tring to add javascript to a drop down box so that, when a selection has been made in the drop down box, it will display a image/button. I need the drop down box to have a default value that will hide all images/buttons.
The list in the drop down box is going to be a list of products e.g. product A, B, C, and the default value to be "please select a product..."
Can this be done in Acrobat Pro X? If so can someone point me in the right direction?

Your site is running on an Apache server, so it definitely doesn't support ASP. Apache frequently supports PHP, but I couldn't tell from the headers sent by your server whether it's supported on your site.
I suggest that you contact BT Business support to see if they offer a formmail script. Most hosting companies do. The support pages should describe how to set it up.

Your scenario is Split message .. you can avoid BPM if you are in SP14 with the RB_Split functionality.
if you running less than Sp14 try out this scenario with Multimapping and use in the BPM.

Update: I mucked about more after making this post; I installed gnome-alsa-mixer and checked the "internal mic" option and "Auto-Mute mode" (both were off), after this my headphone output works again, and does the built-in microphone (!)
I have no idea how I ended up in this "broken" situation, or even what this option does, or how to use it without gnome-alsa-mixer (I had to install 15 packages to get this, as I normally don't use gnome)...
