    Hello,
    On this page i can see all certification paths. But when i logged into my account, on pearsonvue.com, i issued 'Schedule an exam'. But there i can't find any java certification or oracle database administration certifications. So where can i find all the certifications for scheduling, shown on that page?
    Thanks

    Thanks1) You need to drill down from that link to find individual exams ... eg 1z0-051, 1z0-052, etc ... for instance via:
    http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=198&p_org_id=&lang=
    http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_exam_id=1Z0_052
    2) You may need to register on Pearson VUE particularly for Oracle.
    (Prometric works much on on a one registration does all, Pearson VUe requires registration for each vendor, in general as far as I remember). But I was able to use my LPIC registered Pearson VUE for Oracle
    To begin with ensure you go via http://www.pearsonvue.com/oracle/
    3) Java exams, having come from Sun stewardship, are currently via Prometric.
    See the Sun Transition FAQ (which is now VERY hard to locate unless you know what you are looking for!)

  • Need help regarding database connection

    hello
    iam new to j2ee i am using Jsp,Ejb and Jboss server i need to connect to the oracle database with the above configuration wher can i find the tutorials can anybody help me please

    a word of advice - if you're new to jsp, jboss, and ejbs, and obviously know nothing about jdbc either, this isn't the way to learn it.
    start with the jdbc tutorial and see if you can get a single java class to connect to a database and execute some sql. then work up from there.
    what you're doing is something known as "biting off more than you can chew".

    Anil,
    This isn't the right forum to ask about databases. A search in google gave me good results.

    You can try that.

  • Oracle Database Administration in Native langauge

    Friends,
    I have couple of questions kindly if anyone knows please reply with the answers for the following questions
    Can I administer Oracle Database in Native Langauge and what parameters have to be set to veiw the database information in the Native Langauge.
    Can I change the values of NLS_LANG, NLS_SORT parameters for the NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS table after creating the database. If yes how it is done.
    If I specify the NLS_LANG as Japan then does the database display the information in japanese language?
    Thanks in Advance
    Anand

    Hi Anand,
    You can not change the values of the data in the NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS table. It contains the NLS settings at the time that the database was created.
    However, you can change most of these NLS parameters for a given session. NLS_SESSION_PARAMETERS returns the parameters set by NLS_LANG or by the SQL ALTER SESSION command.
    Please refer to Chapter 3 of the Globalization Support Guide for more info.

  • Need help, oracle xml db jar conflicts with sup app server v9

    I am trying to create a web service on sun app v9 that will work with calls to oracle xml db on oracle 10gr2. I have successfully created a web service on other application servers (weblogic and websphere) but sun was the app server of choice. The oracle jar xmlparserv2.jar is causing problems with the sun server as it seems to have bundled some java classes from the javax.xml.parsers, javax\xml\transform (and even from dom, sax and streams sub folders) packages.
    If I put the oracle jar in my war the error I get in the log file when accessing my webservice tester is:

    [#|2007-07-16T14:16:57.982-0400|SEVERE|sun-appserver-pe9.0|javax.enterprise.system.tools.deployment|_ThreadID=10;_ThreadName=main;_RequestID=c9ffb261-2b6d-4dd2-bd8f-362e6b2af1a0;|INFO: JAXP SAXParser property not recognized: http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage|#]

    which gets repeated for each deployment and then the server would not start up.
    Is there any suggestions of where I can put the oracle jar to get sun to still start up as well as the jar to be available for use by the classes in my war that also contains the webservice that will call my underlying class? I have not found a way to eliminate the oracle jar if I want to do an xquery against oracle xml db.
    Thanks,

  • Need Help with "ldap_search: Administrative limit exceeded" issue

    Hi,
    I recently created an index for an attribute called abcSmDisableFlag. When i perform an Ldapsearch using an application owners binddn, 10 entires are returned before i get the error: ldap_search: Administrative limit exceeded. When I use the Directory Manager I do not get this error while the same 10 entries are returned.
    I have analyzed the error and access logs and i think the problem is with the index (notes=U). I performed a reindex on the attribute but it din't work.
    Below are the details i gathered from
    error log:
    [20/Sep/2010:15:04:59 -0400] - WARNING<20805> - Backend Database - conn=1189378 op=1 msgId=2 - search is not indexed base='ou=customers,o=abc

    I have indexed both abcIdmDeleteDate and abcSmDisabledFlag with a presence and equality index.
    I am using Sun Directory Server 6.2. All the nsslapd limits are at Default value and I am not supposed to increase those values.
    I will be very grateful if anyone can kindly share ideas/solutions on this issue and help me out.
    Thanks!!

    I don't know if your issue has been resolved but two things i see here:
    1 - you should not be on 6.2, move to 6.3 or 7.
    2 - your filter is the answer, when you use a filter of "(&(objectclass=abcIdentity)(abcIdmDeleteDate<=2010-09-16)("\!"(abcSmDisabledFlag=1)))", DSEE takes the 1st part of your filter, in your case objectclass=abcIdentity, and does a search on it. Then after retrieving all entries it checks all that have an abcSmDisableFlag <=2010-09-16 and finally out of the remaining entries it will check which do not have an abcSmDisableFlag=1.
    The search on objectClass is resulting in an unindexed search, apparently. What you need to do is alter the order of your attributes in your search filter and have objectClass at the end.
    I hope this makes sense and helps.

  • IBM HACMP + Oracle Database 9i ( without RAC ) Install

    Hi all,
    Is there any document or installation guide about installing Oracle 9i on HACMP ?
    I found that if I installed HACMP first, and later install Oracle 9i , it will be installed in a "clustered way".
    I mean when i install Oracle 9i after HACMP, OUI will ask me for choosing node1 or node2 to install, just like I've installed Oracle Clusterware (but i haven't installed Oracle Clusterware).
    Is it normal ?
    Or should I install Oracle 9i first then HACMP ?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Best Regards.

    Dear Virendra,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I found that If I installed HACMP first, OUI will detect it and Oracle Clusterware will be installed automatically.
    So I need to choose the "Custom" mode to install Oracle 9i and deselect Oracle Clusterware manually. By this way Oracle 9i could be installed in an single instance way.
    After that I just need to use dbca to create my database in SAN storage、install Oracle binary on node2 and copy some files from Node1 to Node2.
    My problem is solved. Thanks for all the reply.
    Best regards.
    BEN

  • Q: Need help troubleshooting Service registration is RAC (on Windows)

    Services were defined with 'srvctl' and started at the OS level.
    This causes the Service to be created in the Database and visable in DBA_SERVICES table, however nowthing show up in DB parameter SERVICE_NAMES.
    IF we then execute DBMS_SERVICES.START_SERVICE('BLUE'); the Service shows up in SERVICE_NAMES and then the registration continues with the LOCAL_LISTENER and everything is fine.
    However is we reboot (abort) the server, the Database restarts, and sometime later SRVCTL reports the Services as being started. Yet parameter SERVICES_NAMES does not report the Service, until we again issue exec DBMS_SERVICES.START_SERVICE('BLUE');
    Can someone help explain the process between SRVCTL starting a Service and being shown in DB parameter SERVICE_NAMES.
    The SERVICE_NAMES Parameter is not specified in the spfile.
    LOCAL_LISTENER and REMOTE_LISTENER are set and AUTOMATIC Service registration does work after manually issuing the DBMS_SERVICES.START_SERVICE.
    Evnvironment is 11.1.0.7 RAC running on Windows.
    We are also using STREAMS which creates it's own SERVICES, the registration and restarting of these work just fine.

  • Need help with database configuration

    Hi all,
    I have an Oracle 9i release 2 Database running on Windows server 2000. There I intend to insert data using a consol application. The program runs fine from other machines connected to it through lan and data is inserted all right. But when I run the program on the same machine as the database server, it gives the following error message
    "ORA-01843: not a valid month
    ORA-06512: at "FASTDB.SPINSMODSALESCENTERSMESSAGES", line 16
    ORA-06512: at line 1 .."
    The program is written in C# and the server has .NET FrameWork 2.0 and MDAC 2.6 installed.
    I don't understand if the program were wrong, then how does it run properly from other machines. And if it runs correctly on the other machines then why doesn't it run on the server machine..
    The procedure looks like this
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE SPInsModSalesCentersMessages(pv_1MessageId integer,
         pv_2requestMsgs varchar2,
    pv_3replyMsgs varchar2,
    pv_4messageStatus integer,
         pv_5outStatus out integer,
         pv_6SerialNo varchar2,
         pv_7SaveDateTime varchar2)
    AS
    vn_IsMsgsId integer;
    BEGIN
         pv_5outStatus:=-1;
         SELECT count(1) into vn_IsMsgsId
         FROM TBLDataTranc_Client
         WHERE TBLDataTranc_Client.messageId = pv_1MessageId;
         IF vn_IsMsgsId = 0 then
              INSERT INTO TBLDataTranc_Client(messageId,serialNo,saveDateTime,resquestMsgStr,replyMsgStr,messageStatus)
              VALUES(pv_1MessageId,pv_6SerialNo,to_date(pv_7SaveDateTime,'mm/dd/yyyy hh12:mi:ss AM'),pv_2requestMsgs,pv_3replyMsgs,pv_4messageStatus);
         ELSE
              UPDATE TBLDataTranc_Client
              SET      resquestMsgStr=pv_2requestMsgs,
              replyMsgStr=pv_3replyMsgs,
              messageStatus=pv_4messageStatus,
              serialNo=pv_6SerialNo,
              saveDateTime=to_date(pv_7SaveDateTime,'mm/dd/yyyy hh12:mi:ss AM')
              WHERE TBLDataTranc_Client.messageId = pv_1MessageId
              and TBLDataTranc_Client.messageStatus =1;
              pv_5outStatus:=1;
         END if;
    end;
    Please help me if you can.

  • Need help Oracle 8.1.5

    i've a delphi program that uses oracle8.1.5 version. ppl use it were working on windows NT and they wanted to use XP. On windowsXP, oracle8.1.5 is not working properly. Everytime i start windows, i run following to start oracle 8.1.5 database:
    start svrmgrl;
    connect as internal/oracle;
    startup database
    I can do this on my computer. But some of users don't want to do this everytime windowsxp is restarted, some don't know how to do that.
    I tried Oracle9i and later versions, but the program was throwing exception. Please help me to solve this problem. Maybe it can be solved by using startup batch file, or anyway

    The Oracle components used in the delphi program don't support later oracle versions. That's why i'am not thinking of to use 10g, 11g.
    for this, i defined all possible ways to let my users use winXP.
    1. just add startup batch - it's a bad way. users will see cmd windows for 20-30 secs everytime start windows;
    2. upgrade delphi components. - the program code is not written by me. It's so hard to change it
    Oh, got a new way! To force my users continue using windowsNT kk
    Thanks all! later i will write back how i'll had solved it
