Need Help:Oracle Portal get LOB value

i'm new to use LOB data types, i don't know how to insert or select it. I'm using Oracle10G and Oracle Portal 9.0.4.
is anyone there can help me ?

Hi,
One other question.
The tns entry you posted looks like this -
*MOF_Test =
* (DESCRIPTION=*
* (ADDRESS=*
* (PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.62.108.84)(PORT=1521))*
* (CONNECT_DATA=*
* (SID=dg4odbc)*
* (HS=OK)*
Do the asterisks represent spaces or line ends ?
The format of the entry should be that the first line starts at the beginning of the line and there should be at least one space at the beginning of the other lines, so it should look like -
MOF_Test =
<space> (DESCRIPTION=
<space> (ADDRESS=
<space> (PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.62.108.84)(PORT=1521))
<space> (CONNECT_DATA=
<space> (SID=dg4odbc)
<space> )
<space> (HS=OK)
<space>)

    Hi, I have this green mark (with pointing arrow looks like a link) on some words show on my window screen when I open a web page, I wonder if it is a virus link or such. Need help how to get rid of it. Here's the example:
    WING
    GAMES
    MAJORITY
    Thanks

    If the third link you posted (the link containing the word "majority") does not look like the following then you inadvertently installed adware.
    That particular page should resemble the following:
    The word "majority" in the third paragraph should not be a link and should not have the green icon associated with it.
    To learn how this may have occurred, and how to prevent it from occurring in the future, read How to install adware
    Most so-called "news" websites are nothing more than entertainment outlets that cater to prurient interests, and contain advertisements that leave the user about three clicks away from installing junk. If you decide to frequent those websites, Safari's "Reader" feature helps minimize that exposure.
    Try it:

  • Need help with the session state value items.

    I need help with the session state value items.
    Trigger is created (on After delete, insert action) on table A.
    When insert in table B at least one row, then trigger update value to 'Y'
    in table A.
    When delete all rows from a table B,, then trigger update value to 'N'
    in table A.
    In detail report changes are visible, but the trigger replacement value is not set in session value.
    How can I implement this?

    You'll have to create a process which runs after your database update process that does a query and loads the result into your page item.
    For example
    SELECT YN_COLUMN
    FROM My_TABLE
    INTO My_Page_Item
    WHERE Key_value = My_Page_Item_Holding_Key_ValueThe DML process will only return key values after updating, such as an ID primary key updated by a sequence in a trigger.
    If the value is showing in a report, make sure the report refreshes on reload of the page.

  • Need Help with Portal security

    Hi All,
    I'm using the Oracle Portal builder to post some links (Dsicoverer reports links) on a portal. Is there any way where only a certain group of people have access to those reports on the portal? Please need help.
    Thanks

    Is there any way i can do that at the report level? Create a password and give it to them, so that whent they click on the link they will be asked the password and once they enter the password they can view the report.If you wish to do it for discoverer portlets or reports, you may also use private connections and the access and editing controls that come with discoverer reports on discoverer portlet provider.
    thx,

  • Seriously need help but cant get through via phone

    I am seriously needing help spend almost all week chatting with verizon via my verizon however nobody could come up with an answer for my problem  it seems that I have been locked out of using the online payment option  and the lady says it does not show that on her end  I need this addressed asap but the lines have been down for days according to the store I just spoke with.  is there someone in finance or billing that could call me?  I have several things I am trying to do  1.  add an account manager 2. make a payment arrangement for a week out ( I normally do this as my payday falls odd)  3.  gain access to online payments

    Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. If the problem isn't solved, ask for further instructions.
    1. Are the current date (including the year) and time shown on your system clock? If not, correct them and test.
    2. Disable any third-party firewall, "security" software, or network filter.
    3. In some versions of OS X, Parental Controls has a bug that prevents loading of secure websites. Turn it off.
    4. The process by which OS X checks the validity of root SSL certificates doesn't work behind the authenticating SOCKS proxies used on some enterprise networks. If applicable, contact your network administrator. The proxy server may need to have its settings changed.

  • Need help in clearing an invalid value entered in an inputLOV popup.

    Hi
    I am using the JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.1.0
    Our application uses the Springs Framework with ADF. We used an af:inputListOfValues component coupled with a disabled af:inputText component to make it like a name-value pair. As soon as you enter a valid value in the inputLOV component and tab out, the description corresponding to it will be populated(partial trigger) in the disabled inputText component. There is an inputListOfValues model object in our backing bean which feeds the list of values to choose from.
    When we enter an invalid value in the lov and tab out, the popup with all the possible values comes up, which is correct and expected. Now, when the user clicks on "Cancel" in the popup, we are supposed to clear the invalid value entered in the lov component. We tried all possible approaches known to use including AOP(Aspect Oriented Programming) to intercept the call when the user clicks on the "Cancel" button but we just could not make it work.
    Does anyone know if a way to clear the entered value upon clicking cancel?
    Please let me know if more details are required about our implementation to answer my question.
    Thanks,
    Manoj

    when ever the Schema is updated the table should not get affected.. Is there a way to solve my problem.. If you change the XML schema associated with the table, then old data won't be valid anymore : how do you want to deal with that?
    Besides, you chose to create the table with Object-Relational storage, you have to understand how it works.
    When you register the schema with genTypes = true, Oracle creates a set of object types that map the XML structure to SQL.
    In this case, old data will not only be invalid but also won't fit in the new structure.
    Do you just need a table for storing valid XML documents according to the current schema?
    If that is so, maybe unstructured CLOB storage is best suited here, with a trigger to validate new rows inserted.
    See this thread for an overview of schema validation : {thread:id=416458}

  • Need Help in Portal Application Project

    I am developing a Portal Application Project where i need to use AJAX to show database values in the main JSP.
    Now while doing an AJAX call (the open method) i need to pass a server pages' URL.
    I have a second jsp file in my application(pagelet/second.jsp) which will do all the database functions and writes the values to stream.
    Now i am confused how to call this second jsp from my first jsp.
    Please help !!!
    SAP WAS 7.0

    I have a second jsp file in my application(pagelet/second.jsp) which will do all the database functions and writes the values to stream.
    May I ask why you are using a JSP page for this? The answer written back will include some standard SAP Portal HTML code that you don't need in the AJAX response (like: <html>...)
    I'm using portal components as AJAX "receiver" and not JSP pages, simply because it gives me greater control over the response::
        <component name="Ajax">
          <component-config>
            <property name="ClassName" value="xyz.Ajax"/>
          </component-config>
          <component-profile/>
        </component>
    And in the Java class:
    public class Ajax extends AbstractPortalComponent {
        public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response)  {

  • Oracle Procedure- Get aggrigate value based on comparing two columns

    Hi All,
    I have written a Procedure which accepts one input parameter and returns one refcursor.
    The logic used in the procedure is:
    The procedure is used to display summary as well as detail report. When the input parameter have more than one comma saperated values then it will act as a summary report and when there will be just one value as the input then it will act as a detail report.
    The input parameter is like 'AA12345,BB45434,HJ89736' the first two character is Brand_id and the rest of the 5 character is the propery_id.
    The aggrigation aggrigation query is :
    Select Month_name,Year,sum(REVPAR),Sum(ADR) from FIS_KPI_TREND where
    Brand_id='AA' and SIte_id='12345' group by Month_name,Year;
    The above query will worke fine for the Detail report when there will be just one value for the input as 'AA12345'.
    The problem is comming for the Summary report when I need to get the aggrigated value for all the brand and site which came in the input parameter.
    So i changed the query as:
    Select Month_name,Year,sum(REVPAR),Sum(ADR) from FIS_KPI_TREND where
    Brand_id||SIte_id in ('AA12345','BB45434','HJ89736')  group by Month_name,Year;
    (I'm using parser function to parse comma saperated values.)
    By doing this i'm getting the desired result but the performance has decrised as the Index is based on Brand_id and Site_id but i'm Using Brand_ID||Site_id for my search.
    Can any one suggest any other way to rewrite this query so that it can take the index as well as give me the sesired output.
    Database used : Oracle 10g
    Thanks in advance.

    I'd be inclined to do something like this to parse the comma separated list, which would allow you to join without concatenating columns like you're doing now.
    ME_XE?select
      substr(column_value, 1, 2)            as brand_id,
      substr(column_value, 3, length(column_value))   as site_id
    from table(sys.ODCIVARCHAR2LIST('AA12345','BB45434','HJ89736'));
      2    3    4
    BRAND_ID   SITE_ID
    AA         12345
    BB         45434
    HJ         89736
    3 rows selected.
    Elapsed: 00:00:00.20
    ME_XE?
    ME_XE?select * from v$version;

    Select
      f.Month_name,
      f.Year,
      sum(f.REVPAR),
      Sum(f.ADR)
    from FIS_KPI_TREND f, table(sys.ODCIVARCHAR2LIST('AA12345','BB45434','HJ89736')) t
    where f.Brand_id = t.brand_id
    and   f.SIte_id  = t.site_id
    group by f.Month_name, f.Year;Edited by: Tubby on Apr 11, 2010 10:12 PM
