Need help please. Trying to update 10.4.11 to 10.4.8
First, looks like I have to update to 10.4.2, then 10.4.3 and so on and so on to get to 10.4.8. Can this be true? I downloaded 10.4.2 and when I tried to install I selected my HD as the destination and got a message that said "You cannot install as this volume does not meet the requirements for this update". I have 1GB of SDRAMM and over 90GB of free disc space. Any ideas on why my HD does not meet the requirements?

I am NOT a techy or computer savvy at all so please don't laugh at my question.
So, I just realized that in Preferences in Adobe Reader the box that is selected regarding updates says "Automatically download updates but let me choose when to install them."
Therefore, do I have a ton of updates just sitting in my downloads folder?? If so, how can I locate them and then install them?

Tried to save several different files to pdf from a .gov site which gave me an error code yet allowed me to complete the steps of saving. Went into docs folder (where I'd saved them to) and tried to open each and every one of them. Each one gave me an Adobe Reader error saying, "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." This is what led me to fiddling around a bit and finding this preference that I mentioned above.

Your photos' need to be deleted from the folder you are 'syncing' to.Obviously if this is the only copy of said photo you mustn't do that.
Create a new folder called say"iPod photos'" on your desktop and copy the ones you want to that folder.
When you connect your iPod, in the summary page click on 'Photos' tab and set to sync your photos from there.There is no way to delete your photos direct from the Touch.
Music is different again.You don't have to delete your music off the pod.
You can either create a new playlist with all the songs you want on it and select to sync from that or just 'un-check' the box next to the song in iTunes.Next time you sync it won't add these to your pod but they remain in your iTunes library.Simple.
Read about playlists in the manual as they are very flexible.

I need help please. I have 6 apps updates shown on on the upper right corner of the app store icon. When i tried to open the apps store and go to updates, the apps that need to be updated were not appearing therefore i have no idea what those apps are so that i can update them. first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the revo uninstaller http://http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
next download itunes. it worked for me hope this is helpful!!
oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you! -

hii, on my iphone 4s, i tried upgrading my OS and i was asked if i needed back up and i said yes, after upgrading i couldnt find any of my files, document, pictures, music and all. please i need help please.
Hi,
usually when you upgrade, it should not delete your files, but if it happens, than you should have a backup.
Unfortunately it is very common, that people don't know, what exactly is in the backup.
The question is, what files exactly you are missing? Own pictures, or taken with the device? Purchased music form the iTunes Store, or own? ....
Documents and files are mostly up to the developer of the app, if they are part of the backup, usually not and you need to transfer them before.
In the backup you will find just pictures from the Camera Rolle folder, everything else you should have on the PC, if you had it on the device.
Same then for music, you can transfer purchased music from the device, but your own works just one direction, from PC to device, from device to PC it doesn't work.
In future I recomand you to be sure how the backup works or use a 3rd party app (iExplorer) where you have a little bit more "freedome" than with iTunes.
Or you maybe just restored from the worng backup -
I updated the new IOS 4.3.3 on my IPad, since then i Am having trouble accesesing any App. What happens is i cant enter it or other wise it closes as soon as i enter it...i need help solving tris inconvenient.
I have the same problem and I haven't solved it yet. On Friday I plugged in my iPad to my work computer after not having done so for quite a while. Today I went onto the work computer and discovered I had not updated iTunes before plugging in the iPad (and which I cannot do without an administrator password). I guess I will update iTunes and try again when I can get the guy to show up with the password. I hope that works. The reset idea does not work on mine.
Was your iiTunes updated before you tried? Have you found any solution yet? Mail and some internet apps still work but games, notes applications, spreadsheets etc. just begin to open and close immediately.
If anybody has answers I'd love to get some clues. -

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

10.5.4 update interrupted...NEED HELP PLEASE
Hi everyone, this is my first post here and I REALLY need help.
I was updating to 10.5.4 today, when my laptop crashed while it was 49% into the install of the update. It said that I have to manually shut down the computer. After that, the computer loads the "User Login Information" screen and whenever I login with my password, the screen goes blue (as if its logging in) then goes back to the login screen. And no matter what I've done, I can't get passed the login screen and into the OS.
Is there is anyway I can fix this or revert back to what I had before?
If you need to know, I have a PowerBookG4 17"
