Need help quick.on My 4 gen iPod touch I'm trying to updat my apps and there was a lot that needed an update. After trying to update them the apps have been stuck on the waiting thing for a while. I've restarted it nothing has changed. What do I do!!!

WHat do I do when I try to update my apps on my 4 gen iPod touch and the apps have been stuck on the waiting thing. I've restarted it and tried to delete them and see if I could redownload them but nothing I'd like to know how to fix the problem soon Cus can't stand going through a day without instagram kik and pandora so please help. If anyone can tell me how to delete them so I can download them again that would be great. Please hurry!!

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there.
Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A Finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache. Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

I was able to download 10.8.5 but have been stuck on the install screen with "two minutes" remaining for an hour now. I'm afraid to hold the power button and shut it off. What can I do to resolve this? :[

What can I do! I know servers are busy but if its installing right now before the restart it means its finished downloading from apple servers so I don't understand why it has been installing with two minutes remaining for a really long time now :[ I'm afraid ill lose all my files if I do a hard turn off.

You may have no choice. If you hear no disk activity, you can hold down Command-Control-power button to force a restart. It should pick up where it left off.
No backup is always risky.

After last icloud backup, unrequested by me public holidays in the UK have been marked on the calendar and I can't find how to delete this. Also, I have been trying to delete a birthday from the same calendar for months and it keeps reappearing.

Are you also restoring from your backup? That sounds like what is happening or someone else has your Apple ID.
A backup to iCloud would have no way to add UK holidays to your calendar. Open Calendar, tap on Calendars at the bottom middle of the page and untick the ones you don't want.

Need help with original MacBook, Snow Leopard, iPod Touch and iPad

I have the original MacBook (2GHz Intel Core Duo) and I just installed Snow Leopard. My software is all up to date and my system drive has 42 GB of space available. I have an iPod Touch 32 GB 3rd Gen and iPad 1 32 GB that I previously have been syncing with an iBook G4 PowerPC with no problems. The iPod is running iOS 6.
Now, I want to sync them with this MacBook but when I open iTunes and connect the iPod, I go to click Backup (to this Computer(or even to iCloud)), it gives me an error message that my computer does not have enough space to backup. The iPod is only 17 GB full. So, I tried clicking Sync, in an effort to just get my iPod data into my iTunes and on the computer that way. But it only did a 3 step sync and didn't actually transfer anything from the iPod. My iPod was NOT wiped clean however(which is what I was actually worried would happen). So I gave up on the iPod.
Moving on to the iPad, I clicked back up and it WAS able to backup. The Available space on my system drive went from about 42.8 GB to 42.25 GB, so I figured it may have done something. Then I tried to Sync and it did the same 3 step sync and nothing was transferred to the computer and the iPad left untouched.
I am extremely new to Snow Leopard, so maybe I am missing something. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Ultimately my goal is to just get everything from my iPod and iPad onto this MacBook.

IF you do decide to replace the hard drive you might consider a solid state drive, less power, less heat and WAYYYYY faster. I replaced mine with a Samsung 840 250GB SSD and it's the best upgrade I've ever done to a computer.

So, I keep my iPod touch in my back right pocket. It normally falls out when I sit down in a seat, but I get it back. But his time, I didn't! I kept retracing my steps for more then an hour but couldn't find it anywhere. I checked the school's office, I asked if anybody found an iPod, I tried texting it..but it's no where to be found.

I really need help with my wifi on my iPod touch 4g?

I do not know much about technology, so I dont know what to do. Anyways, my iPod touch will not connect to the internet. Apps such as iFunny, Pandora, Safari, Facebook Messenger, etc. all say that I am not connect to the internet, even though that the signal strength bars in the top left corner shows that I am connected to my wifi at my house. I have had this iPod touch for a little over a year now, but I would think that it would start to die this quickly. I have also tried to restart my iPod. Wouldnt work. I have tried to turned the wifi on and off. Wouldnt work. I have tried to troubleshoot and have the iPod forget the network and put my information back in. Wouldnt work. I really dont want to fully reboot my iPod until I absolutely know that that would resolve my wifi problems. PLEASE HELP! Thank you in advance. :/

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I am paying for CC but when I try to access LR it says I need to use serial number which I don't have have been using PS on same account for a while. Tried adobe support but got cut off. While online with them they said I didn't need serial number

If you paid for CC-full-suite or CC-Photography-Plan then you should have a CC-licensed version of LR available, but only if you uninstall the serial-number-licensed LR you apparently have, now. At least try that, uninstall LR 5, log out of the CC app using Gear / Preferences / Account / Sign-Out, reboot, log back into the CC app, and see if LR is one of the items listed.

Need help using Apple Hi-Fi with iPod Touch.

Are there any instructions for using an iPod Touch (third generation, iOS4) with the Apple Hi-Fi? I know it's supported from the Apple documents and I realize that it will not charge while using it but I just want to know how to make it work a little more consistently.
I had been using my 8GB iPod Mini with my Apple Hi-Fi in the bathroom. Recently I decided to start listening to Pandora and, maybe 4 times out of 10 I can get it to work just fine, but more often than not it will randomly shut down (every minute or so) or start playing through the iPod Touch's internal speaker and I need to keep restarting and/or undocking and re-docking until it's finally stable enough to run for the half hour our so I need. Once it finally works everything works (volume on the Hi-Fi, remote control, etc.). The display won't stay lit without changing settings but that doesn't bother me that much.
As I said, I have found the Apple documentation for the Hi-Fi that says it should work with the Touch (apart from charging) I just need some instructions on the proper way to connect and get it started initially. Any advice from people that have this working or even better any links to manuals or instructions that describe the correct way to do this would be greatly appreciated.

The tabs have been moved to the top of the screen. I want to move them to the bottom like before. I am having a continuous battle with my drop down webcamera command box dropping over my tabs.

The Firefox tabs used to be at the bottom of my screen. Now they are at the top and as I open more sites the tabs walk from left to right across the top. There comes a point where the pointer command triggers a drop down web camera box to appear. This box does not disappear quickly nor can I can access to the tabs under the camera command box. No, I can move the camera command box as then it is in the way on either the right or left hand side of the screen impacting other commands.

For some reason it's the new FF default. Follow this menu chain to toggle it off. 
For Mac: 
View | Toolbars | Tabs on Top. 
For Win: 
Control-Click on any empty area of the Tab Strip to bring up the Customize Toolbar window. 
Click Tabs on Top. 
Now is also a good time to move the Home, Refresh and Stop icons back over to the left. Click Customize ... , grab them, drag them over, click Done.

I recently received an older iPod Touch with version 4.2.1 on it. When I tried to set it up for automatic downloads from my iTunes account, there is no listing under Settings for this OR to upgrade to a newer version. Also, how do you tell what generation you have?

That is correct. You have a 2G iPod that can only go to iOS 4.2.1. Fpr automatic downloads you need iOS 4.3 or later.
