Need help quick! Please! How do I burn Picture Files onto a DVD?!

When I put in a blank DVD, it doesn't show up in finder. So i thought i'd try using the Disk Utility. I select the DVD on the side bar and press the "burn" button. The picture files are grey and unelectable; i actually didn't see a selectable file. Please please help, I need this done in 30 minutes! Do i have to burn them onto CD's?

Since I have no idea what Operating system your using I will give it for both Tiger and Leopard.

Depending on which version iPhoto you have that could also be used. More detail would help make answering easier.

How do I burn a video onto a dvd out of imovie 11?
Also the program churns and churns, till I'm able to do something else. Why so slow? Is there any render button?

Here is a step by step on how to create a DVD from iMovie 10 using iDVD 7.1.2. If you do not have iDVD, you can probably substitute Toast (or one of the programs Pieter mentioned) everywhere I used iDVD (I don't have Toast so can't verify this).
    1. Create a project in iMovie 10.0.1
    2. Go to File>Share>File... and for Size choose Large 540P (960 x 540) and click Next
    3. Choose a location on the hard drive to save the file to.
    4. Wait for the blue circle activity indicator to finish.
    5. In Finder, verify that iMovie created an MP4 file in the location specified in step 3.
    6. Open iDVD and click "Create New Project."
    7. Give the project a name and save it to your hard drive.
    8. Drag the file you created earlier from the Finder into your iDVD project window.
(or go to File>Import>Video... and choose your video there)
    9. Make any adjustments to drop zones, etc.
    10. Click the burn button.
    11. Insert a DVD and let it do its thing.
This produces a working DVD for me.
    Here are my software specs:
    OS X 10.9 Mavericks
    iMovie 10.0.1
    iDVD 7.1.2

Purchase iLife 11  (includes iDVD) on disk.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others.  None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.
With iDVD you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.

  • HT1338 how do I burn an iMovie onto a DVD without iDVD?

I created a movie in iMovie and now I can't seem to figure out how to burn it onto a DVD.  Someone suggested I download xilisoft dvd creator but it's 40 bucks so I was looking for a cheaper (but reliable) alternative.  Thanks!

This is a good one too. hope it could help you.

Tutorial: Burning QuickTime Movies to a DVD using the Burn utility.
Here is a quick 3 step tutorial on how to burn a QuickTime movie into a self-playing DVD.
Step 1: Click the Video tab and name your DVD.
Launch the Burn utility, and in the main window:
    Select the Video tab.
    Name your DVD
Choose "DVD" from the pop-up menu.
Step 2: Drag your QuickTime movies into the file list.
Drag some video files right into the Burn file list. Most video files are supported, however some protected QuickTime files may not work. If they are not in the correct format for DVD, Burn will ask to convert them to the right format. Most of your movies will require conversion.
Once you click "Yes" you'll be prompted to tell Burn where you want to save the converted movies. In that save dialog box, in you live in North America, make sure the NTSC format is selected (Read about PAL format).
Note: This conversion process can take some time depending on the size of your movie, and the speed of your Mac.
Step 3: Click the Burn button and insert a blank DVD.
Your computer will display a dialog indicating the DVD is burning. When it's done, eject the disc and try it out in your TV's DVD player.
    Enjoy.

  • How to burn VOB files onto a DVD?

Hello everyone, I've seen this question asked in other forum postings, but I can't seem to find the specific answer I'm looking for. Basically, I have several VOB files that I want to burn onto a DVD that I can play in a regular DVD player. Can anyone please recommend any applications that would be good to do this? I appreciate any help and support I can get, thanks!
    ibook Mac OS X (10.4.10)
    ibook   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

If have the complete set of VOB files for a DVD, put them in a folder named "VIDEO_TS" and use DVD Imager

to make a .dmg file that can be burned to a DVD.

  • How do I burn multiple projects onto one DVD?

I have several projects saved that are small enough to fit on one DVD.  Not sure, though, if I burn project #2 after project 1 has been burned, whether the software is smart enough to keep them separate and not over-write project #1.

    Dave0518
Once you have burned a Timeline content to DVD-VIDEO format on DVD-R disc, the disc is finalized and you cannot burn a second time on that same disc (no multisessions). Even if you use a DVD-RW disc, the program will erase what is on the disc before burning anything to it.
Now, if you have 3 projects and you want to combine them to be part of one DVD-VIDEO on DVD, then you need to remember that you cannot import a project (project.prel) into another project.prel. So, you have going to have to export the Timeline of each of the projects to a file. The file type selected should be consistent with the goals of the project. To be discussed in more details if necessary. Then each file is brought into a new project (set with the appropriate project preset) which is burned to DVD VIDEO on DVD disc.
Stop markers at the end of each of the first two files is done. But, never place a stop marker at the end of the last file on the Timeline. It is not needed and can cause problems in the project.
Please consider and let us know if you need clarification on anything written.
    Thank you.

  • With iDVD no longer available (ahhh) how do I burn my iMovie onto a DVD so will play on a DVD player?  Apple says to get a 3rd party software.  Anyone have a recommendation?

Please someone help me find a software to burn iMovies on DVD so will play on DVD player.  I'm so frustrated that this new iMAC doesn't have a program to do this.  Thanks!!

    Tell Apple:  http://www.apple.com/feedback/
IDVD is included with iLife 11 ON DISK.
For making movies there is no alternative or substitute for iDVD. (Buy it while you still can.)
I've tried Burn and Toast and many others, iDVD is by far the best.

For the best quality, I use iMovie 06 with iDVD 11.

  • Warranty for MSI GTX570 - need help quickly please!

Hi. I have MSI GTX570 OC. I just bought Accelero Xtereme Plus cooler, and I plan to remove reference cooler and put this aftermarket one. But I heard that removing the cooler would void my warranty. I hope that is not right. So I need quick response on that question, because I want to put it on my card ASAP.
So, dear MSI users, or administrators, please tell me if my warranty would still be valid if I change the cooler - but of course without damaging the card in any way

How do you mean very careful? Of course I wont damage the card, If that is what you mean, I will do it gently, but whatever I do, Im pretty sure that there would be marks on screws from screwdriver. And Im worried that it could be their proof that the card is opened...
    Yes, this i mean

Nope, from screwdriver you have to push it really hard to make sings over the screws.
If you're gentle they are unscrewed very easy.

And Im worried that it could be their proof that the card is opened...
The card itself has 2 elements, entire cooling system and graphic card pcb itself.
The warantee sticker is over the msi's coolling system, if you try to dissassmeble msi's cooler this will void warantee.
Also even if they know that cooler has been removed, for reapply TIM for example,
they still can accept it if there is no physical damages over it.
However, at the end its down to msi or reseller itself, will they accept your card or not.
But if warantee sticker is instact and there is no any physical damages over the card,
    normally they will accept it

See, but I tried using Yamipod before I even did this, and all I got after utilizing the repair function was a series of error, reading
    Sub Window.ShowModal()
    Sub Pre1RepairWindow.Pre1RepairWindow.PushButton1_Action()
    Sub Window.ShowModal()
    Sub PreRepairWindow.PreRepairWindow.BtnNext_Action()
    Sub Window.ShowModal()
    FUnction MainWindow.MainWindow.OthersRepairiPodAction() as boolean
I emailed these problems to Yamipod, but I don't know if they'll send anything back to me.
Does anyone know what these things mean? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Please-how do I burn my original music to DVD?

    Hello super Mac experts!
    Here's a strange problem(arent they all?)
I have a superdrive and it works fine for movies with one or two individual song files BUT:
iDVD will only allow me to burn my music library as DATA and not 'audio'
I am a recording artist and would like to burn my ORIGINAL and unencoded music archives as AUDIO copy to DVD and NOT as data files.
That means I wish the resulting music DVD to be played in a DVD player.
This is NOT music plucked from the itunes store or 'factory' cds.
Do I need to get 3rd party software or different DVD format or......???
    any help greatly appreciated.
    thanks......jak

Dear Fred, Sue...thanks for the info--it looks like Toast 7 will be the answer even tho MAC iDVD Help claims that it will create audio DVDs(not data BU) BUT: when you follow their links on how to do it---the links go nowhere!
    I quote the following:
    Fred:
I used the DVD Audio specification but the audio quality was not nearly as good as an audio CD. Could have been my DVD player, I suppose.
    :)Sue
I could not find a "DVD audio spec" on iDVD menu---where is this beast hiding? ;-].......thanks again......jak

  • How can I burn an mpeg onto a DVD without having to use IDVD or IMovie?

So I've got a few jpg's and mpeg's that I would like to burn for PC friends, but the only way I can figure out how to get these onto a CD or DVD is by using IDVD or IMovie with my IMac. Is there a way around this? Why doesn't a blank DVD or CD icon come up on the desktop once inserted so that I can simply drag and drop my photos and short movies to it to be burned accordingly? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for responding Dave, but this option doesn't
seem to appear in the preferences of IDVD, DVD
Player, or Quicktime. It seems strange that the only
way I can burn a movie is to create a new IMovie
project and and then burn it via IDVD. This is a
huge hassle when all I want is a few short videos in
no particular order saved on a CD or DVD. My CD
player doesn't seem to be listed separately and is
tied into Itunes. Isn't ILife suppose to make
things easier? Thanks for your help.

  • How do you get a 4.36-gig file onto a DVD-R that will only take 4.28 gigs?

Hi there -- the kind folks in the iDVD forum explained why my 4.7-gig DVD-Rs won't actually hold 4.7 gigs, but the topic seems to have ground to a halt after that.
I have a 4.36-gig video/movie file (suffixed "ISO," if that's relevant) that I tried to burn to a 4.7-gig DVD-R, but the DVD-R says there's only 4.28 gigs available. I tried this on three different disks from two different packages.
What can I do to burn the file onto a DVD-R?
I have Final Cut Express if that can be used to reduce the size a little bit -- I've never used the program, so any instructions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Al -- thanks for your reply. I actually e-mailed the file's originator and he suggested using Disk Utility instead of just trying to drag the files onto the DVD-R. He said it would fit if I did this, and darned if he wasn't right!
