Need Help regarding Printing the report in Bi Publisher

Hi,
I have configured the printer successfully. But the problem is when i give the print in PDF format it coming in some symbols and for single page it is printing nearly 10 pages. When i gave print in HTML format then it is printing in Html tags.
Please help me how to achieve this problem...

Usually the BEX is slower than the web applications.BEX needs a lot of resources on the client computer.
Are you using any macors / VB code to do some processing before display the query output in BEX ?

Need Help Regarding Enabling The Matrix

Hi All,
We have got one user form and we have got one choose from list and one matrix, on click of choose from list the value will be displayed in the text box and at the same time matrix should get enabled. But it;s not happening in our case. The value is coming in the text box through choose from list but matrix is not getting enabled. We are able to change the back ground color of the matrix, make first column invisible and all but not able to enable the matrix. We need help regarding this one.

Hey first bind the columns of matrix to any user datasource
and then you can enter any thing into your matrix
following code may help
suppose you have one column

Need Help with Print a Report

Hi,
I am building a database application in Java and now i need to print some reports ....
I need to get the data from the database .. do some calculations , and then print in on paper.
I checked online and got some tools like JasperReports, jfreereports, ReportCat, etc. so I was wondering if somebody can suggest whats the best.
In my report I will have to print more than one table on one page.
for example:
if I have 4 Invoices. then i will have 4 tables .. one for each invoice.. and each table will contain
the elements for that Invoice.If all can't fit on one page then it needs to go next page.
I would like to do all this stuff in Java without using any reporting tool ... but I am not really sure how this can be
done .. can someone give me an idea ... as per how this can be done .. will really appriciate all the help.

Need help in formatting the report created using SSRS

I have created an image and used it as the body background. But I want that image to come at right
Set bodyRepeat as RepeatY.
Currently its showing as below I need this blue image at the right most side of the report as below
Also I need to display text on the image.

According to your description, you created a report and added background image to it, you want to display the image at right side of the report and display text on the image.
According to my knowledge, we could not control position of background image, as a workaround, we can refer to the following steps:
Create an image with the blue line at right side of it using Paint.
Right-click body of the report to open Body Properties dialog box, then import the image as background image.
Drag text box from Toolbox to the blue line of the image. Right-click inside of the text box and click Expression, we can use expression to show dynamic contents at runtime.

If you actually need a portal service though, this will not work. However, you could have the portal service return a Document object, which is basically the text of the HTML file you want to display. Then, when calling the portal service, you can simply output the text to the IPortalComponentResponse object

If it is Win 7 or later, the Adobe PDF printer for AA 7 will not install and AcroTray will not function. You will have to install a PS driver from Adobe or maybe an HP color PS printer driver. Then edit the driver properties and change the name to Adobe PDF and the port to FILE. You will always have to do an extra step in creating PDFs by opening the file that is created in Distiller to get the PDF.
If you are talking about Win 8, you may not be successful at all. If you got Acrobat and Distiller to install, then there is a chance.

I changed the printer to Epson LQ2170 and Epson LQ2180 but since I don't know the initialization and reset parameter (already search for the manual but couldn't find it, downloaded from Epson's website but couldn't find it either) so I register it with LQ1070. I'd tested to print the reports directly from Reports Builder 6i and it printed just as I wanted to but when I tried to print from oracle apps it only printed up to about 3/4 width of the paper. I tried to change the report's height and width, paper size, orientation but no luck. What should I do? Thanks

Unable to print the report after SP2 (CR 2008 / VS 2008)?

I'm developing an ASP.NET application using VS 2008 (Framework 3.5). I have installed CR 2008 with SP (0, 1, and 2).
I created an invoice report and I printed it as test for the report and it works okay. I needed to change the page size of the report to a user defined size and reset all of the margins to zero.
After I did that I was unable to print the report again and every time I tried to print the report nothing gets printed.
I checked my environment to find the cause of this problem but I found nothing except that I'm using CR runtime for SP1 and I'm currently using SP2. So I did remove CR runtime for SP1 and install CR runtime for SP2.
The problem didn't go away and I faced one more problem.
Usually I'm using a dataset as a data source for my reports. After installing the CR runtime for SP2 I couldn't see any date column in my report data source (Dataset). All other types of columns appear except date fields! Why I have no Idea?
After I do some more testing regarding my issue I found out the following
1. When I add a new report to my web application and I don't change the page setting the report work fine.
2. When I change the page setup settings (Page Margins, horizontal width and vertical height) the report show up okay but never gets printed.
Why I don't know?
Addition to that the report dataset (Data Source) showing in the field explorer never shows any date type field?
All of the above issues happened with me after installing SP2.
OS: WindowsXP Pro SP3
CR 2008 (SP 0, 1, 2)
VS 2008 SP1
Please I need your help.

If you are printing from the preview window, try printing via code, such as:

Print the report to different Printers

Hi,
We are using Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2.
We've defined a check printing report , which prints the output to a printer directly.
We've mentioned this printer in the Concurrent Program definition.
Its printing the output to a pre printed stationary.
Now we need to print output to different printers based on the responsibility.
Can anyone tell me the best way to achieve it.

- Click on View > Requests
- Click on "Submit New Request"

Hi Ram, Can you give me some more details around your issue? How exactly are you building the viewer? Are you using the JSP Page Wizard that comes with Crystal Reports for Eclipse? Print the report on page has width larger than height and not landscape mode

Hi,
I'm trying to print report on page (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) which the width larger than the height.
The problem is windows keeps changing the page oreintation to landscape and when I change it back to portrait its changing the width to 13cm and height to 18cm.
I'm using dot matrix printer to print the report, if i put Landscape , printer is printing the text in horizontal.
Already i have tried to setup the custom for on printer, and used custom page size but it is changing to landscape.
I need to print the report with out preview, direct print top printer, NO PDF....

Hi Anil,
After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. When I set (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) as the Report Page size, it would automatically convert Orientation from Portrait to Landscape. Because the Orientation displayed is dependent on the page
width and page height of the report.
But in my scenario, the Orientation option just change the Width and Height sizes, it couldn’t affect the text rotation. I guess this issue can be caused by the printer and printer driver, please try to update them. Reference:

I allow users to download reports using the Interactive Reports Region.
If you use that method then you can insert a title at the top of the report by populating the Report Region > Print Attributes (TAB) > Page Header
Note: This is available when using APEX coupled with Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher. It does not work with "CSV" output.

How to Print the Report Column headers on each page of any report

Can someone offer assistance on how I can go about achieving the ability to show and print the Report Column headers on each page of any report using the Print Attributes of APEX 3.0? These reports will be printed using Excel and Word.
I read a thread with a similar request but the answer seems vague for my level of understanding.
I am connected to a print server and using BI Publisher.

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. You are using a very powerful tool – BI Publisher – why do you need Excel or Word for printing? Is there a special need only Excel or Word can provide?
One of the major advantages of using BI Publisher is that it's taking care of all these tedious tasks like reasonable page breaking, headers and footers, and also table headers.
