Hello,
My computer recently got a power surge from lighting and I had to buy a new one. I already deauthorized my computer and authorized my new one but I cant get my files on my Ipod Nano 3rd generation to upload to my new computer. I got my music files to upload but can not get my play lists to up load to Itunes or my pics to upload to my computer. I am using Vista now and don't exactly know where to find everything...that could be some of the problem. lol I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you!

Downloading previously purchsed music from iCloud is based on your iTunes ID, not your iCloud ID. (It uses "iTunes in the Cloud", which has nothing to do with your iCloud account, just your iTunes ID.)
If you are using a different iTunes ID on your iOS devices than the one you used to purchase the music, you'll have to sync the music to your devices using iTunes. If they are using the same iTunes ID, you can download the music to your devices as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)

4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.

No backup and need to download music FROM ipod to new computer library

My computer crashed and I am on a new computer. I have no back up of my library. I want to upload my music FROM my ipod to my new computer's library. Any help?

Be very careful when connecting an iPod full of music to an empty iTunes library.There is very real risk of permanently losing all the music.
To prevent auto sync, before you connect the iPod go to the iTunes preferences and select "devices", then select "disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods".
An alternative method is to connect the iPod whilst holding down the 'control+shift' keys and do not let them go until your iPod appears in iTunes.
If you see a message that your iPod is associated with a different library and asks if you want to link to a new one, make sure you press "Cancel".
If you should click on "Erase and Sync" will erase all the content currently on your iPod and it will be replaced with the content of the iTunes library you just connected to.
When you've pressed cancel your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list under "devices" and allow you to change the update setting to manage the iPod content manually, and that will let you use your iPod for the time being without the risk of accidentally erasing the contents.
Then do any of the following to transfer your music from iPod back to the computer/iTunes.
For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola and iDump and iPodRobot.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

I need help transferring music and apps from my iPod Touch, generation 1 or 2 onto my itunes library on my laptop

I am trying to transfer my music and apps from my iPod Touch to my laptop computer's itunes library so that I can update the IOS. I have tried "Transfer Purchases from iPod Touch under File/Devices and nothing seems to happen. The itunes library on my laptop is still empty and everything is still on my ipod Touch. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or how I can make this happen so I don't lose it all?

Old Hard drive crashed, need to transfer music from iPod to new computer

Hello. My old hard drive crashed and I bought a new computer. Unfortunately I did not back up any files from my old computer and lost all files including iTunes music. All I have is the music from my iPod. I would like some help or if anyone knows anything about how to transfer the music from my iPod to my new computer. Connect your iPod to your computer. Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Want to transfer songs and pics to new computer without old one

My old computer, somethings really wrong with the drivers, and it doesn't recognize my ipod or any usb device (we have given up trying to fix it, we've tried like everything, including reinstalling windows, therefore deleting all of my songs and itunes and everything. But the problem persists, and I can't even charge my ipod because its not recognized.)
So I bought a new laptop, and I want to transfer the songs to my new computer. Is that possible without using my old computer? and how do I do it? All the songs that I want to transfer are already on my ipod (at least I think that are, i can still listen to all of my songs on my ipod if I charge it with someone else's computer...and none of them are from the itunes store). What steps do I need to take to transfer them and is there a risk of all of my songs being deleted for some reason during transfer?
Help me please! and if you can't help me, is there any way I could email a tech support person who could?

Finally, If your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7 installed hold down the Control and Alt keys (or Shift + Ctrl keys in older versions). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. Computer Crashed, need to download music from Ipod to new computer

My old computer with all of my music on it crashed and is totally kapaupt. However, like a big dummy, I did not have a back-up for my music library. Is there any way to transfer my music from my Ipod to my new computer????

As you may have already found out that while we can transfer music from iTunes to an iPod, we cannot transfer music from iPod to iTunes.
You need to move your music from your iPod to your new iTunes and one of the ways that you can do this is with the help of a third party software.
Please read [*_This Discussion Thread_*|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10570955#10570955] and pay particular attention to the post from Zevoneer. In his post all available software is listed which you can use to accomplish what you want. Most of the software is free. Good Luck.

Need help with Westell Versalink 327w on new computer with Windows Vista

Greetings!
I'm having trouble trying to connect to my Westell Versalink 327w with my new computer. My old computer and laptop work perfectly fine in connecting to the router. However, when I plug in the Ethernet cable to the router on my new computer, the computer doesn't recognize that a connection is even established. (As if it's not actually plugged in.)
The port on the back of my computer is perfectly fine, as it works with another internet connection I have setup. The cable and router work fine on both my old computer and laptop. (In fact, I'm using the laptop to post on the forums right now.)
The Router itself shows the Ethernet connection that's plugged in as a blinking green light.
Is there a driver or some software I need to install on the new computer? Any specific settings?
I'm using Windows Vista on the new computer, and the old computers both have Windows XP. Is there some sort of complicated new setup that Vista has which is preventing the connection, or like I said, is there software or a driver that I didn't install on the new computer that's making it not recognizing the router at all?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hey there! Drivers would not required for an ethernet connection to the Versalink. This appears to be an issue with Vista specifically. If you have not already done so you may want to disable IPv6 in the TCP/IP settings of your LAN controller:
Network and Sharing Center > Manage network connections > Right click on "Local Area Network" > Properties > Uncheck "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) > Click "OK" > Reboot > cross fingers

Need Help snycing apps from Ipad to new Computer

Need some help.
I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 After I had a virus. So I just installed Itunes and plugged in my Ipad to sync up my Apps since My Ipad is full.
But I been unable to backup my Ipad or transfer purchases to Itunes. If I try to backup my Ipad I get this message
"iTunes could not back up the iPad because the Ipad is disconnected."
If I try to transfer purchases, it looks like it is working as I can see it go through the apps in the top middle bar of itunes. But when I go to my Itunes libary it only shows a couple apps transferred.
Anyway to backup my Ipad on my "new" computer? I dont want to lose all my save files, bookmarks etc.

Tried multiple solutions and keep running into the same messages. I get the message when I try to back up and if I click on transfer purchases it seems like it works as in the top bar in iTunes it seems to go through my apps, it says coping but when I look in my App library they aren't there.
I really don't want to go through and try to download each app again. I have so many it would take forever.

Need help installing PC DIO 96 in new computer

Hello:
I am currently running a PC DIO-96 on a 100 MHz pentium (Windows 95) and LabWindows CVI. The board controls high voltage power supplies and timing equipment for a mass spectrometer. The computer is on its last leg, and I need a new computer for this instrument. However, I did not develop the code that controls this instrument, and I would ideally like to plug this board into a new computer system, copy over the .c, .h, etc. files, and continue using this code.
The questions I have are... is LabWindows CVI compatible with the OS I would get with a new computer, e.g. Windows 2k or XP? Also, is this board compatible with those systems? Are there specific system requirements I need to purchase to utilize the
board, or can I expect to just plug it in to any new computer? If I can't use board, is there a newer one I should purchase that I can use with the existing code that has been written for the instrument?
Forgive the newbie questions, but this will be my first foray into the realm of computer hardware.

You will need to check the version of the CVI you are using and choose a version of the DAQ board driver NI-DAQ to compatible with both that version of CVI and the OS you choose to use.
Please be more specific about the versions you are using now so I can give you a better help.

To transfer license of Acrobat X from your first computer to second computer you just need to uninstall Acrobat X from your first computer and install it on the second computer with the serial number.
With all other software there is need to deactivate the software from the help menu of the software but with Acrobat X uninstallation will deactivate the software from the machine and you can easily activate the same on second computer.
