Need help retrieving old #'s...

So I ordered a new phone, and when I received and activated it, more than half of my contacts did not restore. Is there any way I can view old messages so I can possilby look through them till I find that contact/number? Do I need to have the actual account holder do this? I am only an admistrator on the account. Even with backup assistant, those numbers did not show up...

Other than this little contact hiccup, I hope you're enjoying your new phone cumboslice. Some phones have the ability to store contacts in separate accounts, like phone contacts in Backup Assistant and Google contacts in Gmail. What model phone did you have before? Do you still have your previous phone? What model did you switch to?
On My Verizon http://bit.ly/xB4iTc the Account Owner can look up your calls for the past 12 months and message details for the past 3 months. You'll be able to see the number that called or texted and the time, but not the actual content of any messages.
Thank you

  • Need help retrieving my photoshop elements 2.0 due to virus scan removing it

need help retrieving my photoshop elements 2.0 due to virus scan removing it - i have everything removed from scan in quarantine but have no idea which  one is what i need to reverse and allow my photoshop elements 2.0 (old version, I know, but I love it) to work again

Use the anti-virus program to reverse everything it quarantined and in future ensure the anti-virus program settings let you check and decide what items to quarantine and what to ignore. Letting an anti-virus program quarantine things automatically is a recipe for disaster.
You could also check if you have a System Restore point from before the anti-virus run.

  • Need Help, retrieving a combo boxes actual/print/visible value instead of the export value.

    Hello,
I need help, retrieving a combo boxes actual value, not the export value.
I have a combo box with multiple options to select from.
each of those selections has a separate export value, which is in the form of a number, which I use to calculate dates in a separate field.
However, I have another field that i want to retrieve the, users selected value, which is text, from the combo box instead of the export value.
Is there an easy way to do this.
This is what I am currently using. But like I said the results are that I retrieve the export value and not the selected text value.
    event.value = this.getField("_Arugula").valueAsString;
    Thanks

First get the currentValueIndices property of the combo box and use it with the getItemAt field method to return (what I call) the display value. Something like:
    var f = getField("combo1");
    var display_value = f.getItemAt(f.currentValueIndices, false);
See the documentation for more information

  • I need to retrieve old call history

I need to retrieve my old call history, can I do this?

Recents, on the iPhone, is limited to exactly 100 calls. If what you want is not there, check with your carrier. Many will make available several months worth of call history.

  • I need help retrieving Microsoft files lost when upgrading to OSX Mavericks

My daughter recently upgraded our Mac to the OSX Mavericks platform. Unfortunately, all of our Microsoft files, etc. are gone! I need to know how I can retrieve these files or if I can. I'm honestly not impressed with this new platform. I need help asap and your help is truly appreciated.

You have to make the backup yourself. That's your only protection against file loss whether accidental or catastrophic. In fact you should have at least two of them - each done differently and on separate drives.
If your files truly were "erased" then you can see if they can be recovered:
    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

    Basic Backup
For some people Time Machine will be more than adequate. Time Machine is part of OS X. There are two components:
    1. A Time Machine preferences panel as part of System Preferences;
    2. A Time Machine application located in the Applications folder. It is
used to manage backups and to restore backups. Time Machine
requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the
         drive being backed up.
    3. Time Machine requires a backup drive that is at least double the
capacity of the drive(s) it backs up.
Alternatively, get an external drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner
      2. Get Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. Synk Pro
      6. Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore.  Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files. For help with using Time Machine visit Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with all things Time Machine.
Although you can buy a complete external drive system, you can also put one together if you are so inclined.  It's relatively easy and only requires a Phillips head screwdriver (typically.)  You can purchase hard drives separately.  This gives you an opportunity to shop for the best prices on a hard drive of your choice.  Reliable brands include Seagate, Hitachi, Western Digital, Toshiba, and Fujitsu.  You can find reviews and benchmarks on many drives at Storage Review.
    Enclosures for FireWire and USB are readily available.  You can find only FireWire enclosures, only USB enclosures, and enclosures that feature multiple ports.  I would stress getting enclosures that use the Oxford chipsets especially for Firewire drives (911, 921, 922, for example.)  You can find enclosures at places such as;
      1. Cool Drives
      2. OWC
      3. WiebeTech
      4. Firewire Direct
      5. California Drives
      6. NewEgg
All you need do is remove a case cover, mount the hard drive in the enclosure and connect the cables, then re-attach the case cover.  Usually the only tool required is a small or medium Phillips screwdriver.

  • Need help retrieving my old password ?

Basically, i bought myself a new ipad since my original ipad wouldn't charge, i tried using a bunch of different charging cables and several different 10W USB power adapters.
So i got my new ipad running iOS 6 and i try to sign into with my Apple ID, i use the correct email address, and all the passwords i can think of. But i am unable to download applications as the password is incorrect.
It asks me to enter some answers to security questions, i answer the first question, but don't know the answer to the second question, and don't remember choosing it, so i also try the "Send recovery email" option. However i've tried looking in all the email addresses i own, but cannot find the email. So i am unable to reset my password since i don't receive an email.
I would like to login to my original account so that i can restore my apps, because i have spent quite a lot of money on Applications which i now cannot download since i can't login.
Does anyone know if there is a way around this, without phoning apple ?
In case you're wondering how i typed this if i've forgotten my Apple ID, it's simple, i created a new account.
    Thanks in advance

OK, any version of Palm Desktop 4.x should be fine.  Palm Desktop 6.x uses a different file format.
I would suggest creating a new HotSync profile in Palm Desktop.  That will create a new HotSync ID folder on your computer.  Then take the old .dat file that you want to read, and drop it into the address folder in the new HotSync ID folder.  The old .dat file will overwrite the new .dat file.  Make sure that Palm Desktop isn't open when you do this.
Back in Palm Desktop, switch to the new HotSync ID.  You should be able to read the contents of the .dat file in the Contacts application.  You can then export the record(s) you need back to your current HotSync profile.

  • Need help retrieving serial number, please.

I made a thread about this last night but it must have been deleted for some reason?
So I got Adobe Premiere Elements 11 for christmas and had it installed on my student laptop.  When I graduated this last spring I got a new laptop and didn't think anything of it.  Last night I went to install Premiere on my new laptop and upon install it asked for my serial number.  I did not write it down and I do not have my old laptop to retrieve it.  I tired typing in the redemption code on the Adobe site but it just says that the code is invalid (obviously because it has already been redeemed).  I also did not register this product so if I log in to Adobe and go to "My Products" it is not in there.  Can someone please help me out here!  I really need this program to work.  There has got to be a way to retrieve this serial number.  There has got to be a data base someone can look in?  Please help!
    Thank you,
    -Trent

So as long as I have this redemption code I should still be able to link it to my serial number.  I just need to get in contact with Adobe themselves.
I am just speculating here, as John T. is, as well, but your experience, regarding the typing in of that Redemption Code, on the supplied Web site, seems to be a "one-time deal." That seems to be borne out by your experience.
Now, it might (speculation again, as I have never had an educational version of any Adobe product) be useful to have that Redemption Code, when talking to Adobe Customer Support (not Technical Support), as they might be able to track backward, and use that to find your S/N. I would try Live Chat first, BUT keep the idea of a direct telephone call, as "Plan B."
Unfortunately, no one here works for Adobe - we are but mere users, and mostly users with a regular PrE license, and not an academic license. When it comes to academic license questions, I always go to John T. Smith, as he was in a university system, and has several academic licenses in his history. He's my "go-to guy" for any academic version questions, 'cause he's "been there - done that." However, and even with his vast knowledge, he is powerless to help you, beyond suggestions. Only Adobe can do that.
Please let us know if Adobe Customer Support (either Live Chat, or via telephone) was able to help you, as you will be educating us all.
Good luck, and please do followup on this thread, as we can all benefit.
    Hunt
PS - I will second John T's suggestion of making copies of everything, should there be a problem in the future. For instance, I have my S/N for every version of Photoshop one a label on the media (mine go back to diskettes), on the box (if I still have that) and one the front and also first page of the manual (they used to have nicely printed manuals, back several versions). I could give you my S/N for version 2.5, through CS 6, even though the S/N format changed three times over the decades. Make copies.

  • Need help with old photo

I've never encounted this problem, and am struggling to master PS CS5 from CS3, so any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.
I am trying to do a tile photomural of a wedding portrait from a 60 year old photo.  The photo itself (and it is the only one in existance) has a pebble-like finish, so that the light from the scanner created a random pattern of reflective spots.  Is there any tool in CS5 that will help me eliminate or minimize these?  They are most evident in the dark parts, especially hair.
I really do appreciate your help
    Marianne

This appears to be EXACTLY what I need, but I am having difficulty trying to figure out where to place the filters in CS5.  When I run the action, the dialogue tells me filter is unavailable.  Although it's a black and white picture, I am running it in RGB.  I'm a bit wary because the download did not offer a Mac filter option, it just said PC filter download. The instructions say to place the filters in "plug-ins" but that instruction was written several years ago. Do I have the right ones? Where do I place the downloaded filters now to make them available??

  • Need help getting old Palm Zire 31 data on my laptop into my new Samsung Omnia phone

Hope someone can help me, as I am technically illiterate. I have a new Samsung Omnia phone w/Verizon service w/all the features (calendar, contacts, web, etc). I am replacing my Palm Zire 31 because it died - but all contacts/calendar info is backed up on my laptop. Verizon can't help me get my PDA contacts/calendar, etc. into my new Omnia phone. I have NO idea what to do, but am thinking if i could somehow dump the old palm data into my outlook i might be able to get it into the new phone? Anyone out there that can help me? (I don't even know how to dump the Palm data into outlook)
    Post relates to: Zire 31

Hi..  Welcome to the Palm forums.  Since you have your data in palm desktop and your looking to move your data to outlook there is a utility that you can purchase that will do just that.  It is called pocketcopy and can be found at chapura.com for $24.95.  Being it is 3rd party software if you have any problems or questions you will need to talk to their support.

  • Need Help Cloning Old Windows XP to Mac with VMWare Fusion

Hello I'm new to the forums and I have been searching all over for a good answer on how to do this.
I have a ton of applications, docs, etc. on my old windows xp machine that I need and I am looking for a way to clone the drive it to my mac that is using VMWare Fusion. I have an external hard drive and have tried acronis true image but apparently that doesnt work. So I am looking for a good step by step process on how to do this.
Also later I want to clone the same windows xp drive to another mac that is using boot camp. will that be the same?
    Thanks

The easiest way would be to put the PC hard drive into an external enclosure and use Disk Utility or a similar tool to create a disk image file that you can copy to the Mac. You may be able to read the PC disk image format and get VMWare to read the resulting image.
Even if you make it that far, I don't think you will be able to get Windows to use it as a boot drive. You will have much more success just creating a new disk image and reinstalling everything with the correct drivers. Then just copy your documents back over using more traditional methods.

  • Need help retrieving 'backed-up' iWeb files

In anticipation of iweb going away, I backed up my iweb files to an external drive.  Now, having purchased a brand new imac desktop computer, it did not come with iweb software. So, how do i "restore" any of my iweb files to the new imac desktop so that I can then view them, enjoy them, or upload them to a new server?

Attach your hard drive to your new Mac and then copy the files over or just drop and drag.  If you have saved your published iWeb files, then you can open them in any browser that you have by opening the file and then clicking on any of the html pages - just double click and Safari or your chosen browser will open them.
To upload to your server, then you'll need to download an ftp client like Cyberduck or Yummy ftp and upload to your server using this.
Other than this and if you want to make any alterations to your files, then you needed to back up your domain.sites files from your old Mac that you should have transferrred to your new Mac.  These domain.sites files can be found under your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.  You'll also need a copy of iWeb on your new Mac - you can do this by using the installation discs from your old Mac and placing it on your new mac or if you still want iWeb go to Amazon and search for a copy of the iLife 11 boxed set and iWeb is included in this.

  • [Nokia 6020] Need help retrieving phone contacts

    Hi all,
My Nokia 6020's screen is cracked, but the phone powers up properly and I can make/ and receive calls. I no longer wish to use the phone, but want to retrieve the contacts stored in the phone memory.
Option 1) Tried connecting the phone using a brand new, official Nokia CA-42 USB-Serial cable on Windows XP and followed the proper procedure to install the driver (ie, install before plugging in the cable, restart etc), but the PC Suite doesn't detect the phone. Updated to the latest PC suite but it still doesn't detect the phone. Is there any other options I can try out on the PC? Are there any settings that I might have to change on my phone?
Edit: I also tried Mobile Master and Oxygen Phone Manager, but they're not able to detect my phone.
Option 2) Copy all the contacts from phone memory to the sim card. As I cannot see the screen, I have no idea how to do this so would be grateful if someone can guide me through this process.
    Thanks for your time.
    Regards,
    dex.

  • Need Help Upgrading Old Mac

I have a macbook pro 15.4 Inch purchased in 2007 *The first intel based mac i believe- But im having trouble upgrading- I tried to upgrade to Snow leopard 10.6.8 (im on 10.5.4) now and i need to upgrade desperatley to run programs i use, The body of the computer (keyboard is shot so i use an external keyboard) when i downloaded different DMGS of snowleopard-i cant get any of them to work and do a DMG instal as you normal would. I tried my original (INSTALL Disks that the my computer came with to an archive install- but the drive kicks the dvds out once i hit option - to try to boot the disk when the computer starts up (the computer's body is ****** but it works ok- it has to be plugged in all the time) but i dont know how i can update my system i  even tried snow leopard 911 - but even when i put it on a 4GB hard drive and tried to boot from my little thumb drive (by pushing C on start up) it just started up regularly. I was gonna take smewhere to have an archive install but it would cost me 120.00 per the visit (since this computer isnt worth much and i just need it to be able to run until i get a new one in 2013) - Ive done everything tested the PRAM , done a "C" and even option boots it to EFI mode, which i dont want ive downloaded mutliple DMGS of snow leopard and they dont work , i just want to upgrade!! - Can you help!! if you have ANY solutions
    <Email Edited By Host>

I'm not sure where you're getting dmg files of Snow Leopard - it was only ever released on disc. You can order it directly from the Apple Store on disc here - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard. If your optical drive isn't working, you'll just have to get a fairly inexpensive external optical drive to install the upgrade.
It really sounds as if your machine is shot. I had a 2006 model (which was actually the first Intel MBP) and it's still working. But I took care of it. Sounds as if you've been a little rough on yours.
I'm not certain that the SL update is going to do you any good - but it's worth a try, I guess.

  • HT1766 need help retrieving backed up iphone info on itunes

Went to the Apple store yesterday with iphone (blue tooth and wifi not working) and power cord (mac book) issues.
Since the iphone 4s had already been replaced  once (due to blue tooth and wifi issues) I backed up the phone using itunes on my computer.  The tech at the genius bar said there was a problem with the iphone 4s, a bad sensor or something like that, bottom line it wasn't fixable.  Somehow, while trying to get my phone to work, (making sure it was sync'd and back'd up etc) the tech upgraded the version of itunes in my computer.  Whoops, now my phone won't retrieve all info I had backed up in itunes because he also upgraded my iphone to OS 7.1.  He offered to upgrade my computer to leopard 6 for free since he hadn't checked the version of my itunes before he upgraded.  BUT it would take over an hour and there was a possibility that I may loose every thing on my computer, had I backed it up????  The answer was no because all I thought I was going to do was get a new power adapter!  I did not want to risk loosing all my pictures etc so passed on the free upgrade.  Backed up the computer as soon as it was charged enough once I got home.
So my question is two fold, is there any way i can revert the itunes back to the earlier version I had (and no I'm not sure what the version was), retrieve all my phone info, then go forward?  Or since my computer is now backed up, how difficult is it to upgrade from OSX 10.5.8 to the next level 6.1 ?  I live 1+ hrs from the Apple store and would rather not go through the appt etc again if possible, was hoping for help here.

It's been a while! It's only pulling info up from 2010

  • Need Help for Old Genealogical Document Restoration

I am a young recently Retired Disabled Veteran now with more time on my hands and to help keep me as active as i can, i began to work on my Family Genealogy/Ancestry that involves allot of documents and images...
For about 6 months, I was looking for software for performing Restoration work on Old Genealogical Documents Scanned and/or Downloaded.
This was a tough category for performing this task at home because the majority of the software points to Images & Photographs and one of the top recommended software based on feedback was to purchase a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements.
So yesterday, I purchased the latest Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 with my fingers crossed.
Now, I have Old Genealogical Documents Scanned and/or Downloaded and I am hoping to locate 1 or more ways in performing restoration work with images that are Document Specific.
I know there are plug-ins, filters, tutorials, how-to, etc... and i am getting a bit confused because the ones i am finding seem to be geared towards Photographic Images and not Document Images.
I am doing my best to explain what i am asking the Community for help with and i would be more than happy to specify anything further.
    Can someone PLEASE help me.
    Thank you for your time.

    This is one example...
I am not looking for perfection but, with this one (for example), i am looking to improved legibility.
This one is a lowered quality image to upload...
