Need help saving messages

Hi
I have the Nokia 6220 Classic. I would like to save my text messages received from my phone to a folder in my PC. Now i can do this, however the messages are saved in a file with the ext VMG file. I then cannot open them up in any readable file, just squares and codes. I am not very PC literate. Does anyone know how to save them so i can maybe open them up in word, many thanks

Have you looked at ListSMS or X-SMS? I've not used X-SMS, but used ListSMS on a N95 and it worked flawlessly. It needs python installing to, but a link and instructions are at the bottom of the ListSMS page.

The application log is a tool to collect, save and display logs.
Many different applications collect messages in the application log which contain information or messages for the end user. The application automatically log serves as a temporary storage for messages. The logs are written on the database but they are not automatically deleted.
There is no general procedure for switching the application log on or off. Some applications provide this option or they offer the option of reducing the number of entries created. (See Notes 91519, 183960, 141244).
The expiration date of application logs
A log usually has an expiration date, which is set by the application, that calls the 'Application log' tool. If the application log does not set an expiration date, the 'Application log' tool sets the expiration date as 12/31/2098 or 12/31/9999,depending on the release, which allows the logs to stay in the system for as long as possible. The end user cannot set the expiration date. The expiration date does not mean that logs which have reached that date will automatically be deleted. It is used to control the deletion of logs when you call the Deletion report. The DEL_BEFORE flag in the BALHDR table determines whether or not the log can be deleted even before the expiration date is reached.
DEL_BEFORE= SPACE means that the log can be deleted before the expiration date is reached. (Default value)
DEL_BEFORE='X' means that the log can only be deleted after the expiration date.
Solution
Deleting the logs of the application log.
Releases >= 4.6A:

In Releases >= 4.6A, use Transaction SLG2.
On the selection screen you can restrict the amount of logs to be deleted:
The 'Object' and 'Subobject' fields specify the application area in which the logs were written (see F4 Help).
The 'External Identification' field specifies the number which was          provided for this log by the application.
o If you also want to delete logs which have not reached the expiration date you must set the option "Also logs which can be deleted before the expiration date".
Select 'Help with application' in Transaction SLG2 for further explanation of the procedure for deleting.
SLG2 is a report transaction. The corresponding report is SBAL_DELETE. At regular intervals, this can be scheduled as a background job.
Releases < 4.6A:

For Releases < 4.6A, note the following instructions:
In general, the deletion of application logs can be carried out in two steps:
1. Report RSSLG200: Deletion of all logs which expired:
Use report RSSLG200 to delete all logs whose expiration date is reached or exceeded. (This report is not yet available in the standard in Release 3.0F. In this case, the report can be installed in advance; see corrections attached to this note).
As of Release 3.1H, Report RSSLG210 is also available. This report allows the definition of a job that runs regularly and deletes such logs.
2. Report RSSLGK90: Deleting all logs for which a deletion is allowed before expiration:
Sometimes, step 1 does not delete enough logs. The reason for this might be that the expiration date of the logs is too far in the future or that no expiration date has been defined at all (in this case, depending
on the release, the assumed expiration date is 12/31/2098 or 12/31/9999)
Use report RSSLGK90 for these logs.
When you execute this report, you can restrict the logs to be deleted in a selection screen:
The fields 'Object' and 'Subobject' specify the application area which wrote the logs (see F4 help).
The field 'External number' indicates the number which was assigned by the application for this log.
Field 'Log class' indicates the importance of the log.
NOTE: By default, this field contains the value '4', this means only logs with additional information. If you want to delete all logs, enter the value '1' in this field. All logs with log class '1' or higher will then be deleted.
The fields 'To date' and 'Until time' refer to the creation date of a log.
If you enter 12/31/1998 and 23:59:59, you get all logs created in and before 1998

Client-dependency:
Note that the application log tables are client-dependent. Therefore, you must delete data in each client.
Which applications create entires in the application log:
To determine which applications create the logs, look in Table BALHDR to see which objects the logs were created for ( Transaction SE16, Table BALHDR, Field OBJECT). You can find the text description for the object in Table BALOBJT. The application is usually derived from the name and text of the object. The log is displayed in Transaction SL61. The display is restricted to certain objects, among other things.
Database error:
If very many data exists on the DB, Report RSSLGK90 might cause problems. In this case, implement Note 138715.
In very rare cases a dump is created even after Note 138715 was implemented:
    ABAP/4 runtime error DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR
    SQL error 1555 occurred accessing table "BALHDR "
    Database error text...: "ORA-01555: snapshot too old
If you cannot correct the error by means of database utilities, Note 368700 provides a way to bypass this error.
Report RSSLG200 can also run into problems. In this case, use the correction for Report RSSLG200 attached to this Note.
Expiration date in Report RSSLGK90:
There are logs on the database which may only be deleted explicitly after the expiration date (flag DEL_BEFORE = 'X' in table BALHDR). These logs are not deleted in advance by report RSSLGK90. Since, however, this flag is used very rarely, you can ignore this data.
Restriction of the quantity of log data by the application:
To avoid large quantities of logs from different applications, also refer to the following notes:

Archiving logs:
As of Release 6.20, it has been possible to archive logs.
The logs are archived via archiving object BC_SBAL.
The archiving programs are started via Transaction SARA (archive administration).
Via Support Packages, the archiving of application logs has been made available for Releases 4.6C (SAPKB46C27), 4.6D (SAPKB46D17), and 6.10 (SAPKB61011) as well.

Please, I need help- video messages

Please, I need help. I can not play video messages which send me friends. When I click the message error occur ,and tell me: "Oops, something went wrong. Please try again, or get in touch if you need help." I do not know what I should do. I tried many times to play video message. I updated skype, but nothing has changed. Does anyone know how to help me?

NEED HELP - Text Messages showing up hours later and no more notifications

Up until about 3 weeks ago, I was very in love with my S3 as it worked perfectly. Then about 3 weeks ago (March 12 or so) I started receiving my text messages hours or days after they were sent. We then went to Canada for a week and I had no mobile data. The issue with my messaging continued, except now I rarely get a notification when I get them. I have been back a week and it has gotten worse. The messages seem to come all at one time once or twice a day, there is no notification when they come, and I am occasionally missing messages. It does not matter who the messages are from. I have rebooted the phone multiple times. I have tried using Handcent SMS instead of the default messaging application to no avail.
Is there something going on with Verizon Text messages?
Is there another place to go besides the following to set notifications?

Since this started before we went to Canada, I do not think that was the cause. Although, there were several times that I got the message Updating Sim Card information when we were there and I had the wrong time a lot of the time.

So today I go to send a text and get one from last night. Don't get the sound but it did show up on my notification bar. I sent the text and realized my clock was off by an hour. I went into settings, Date/Time and both are set to Automatic, but for some reason it is showing Central Time Zone. I uncheck Automatic Time Zone and set it to Mountain Time Zone, exit Settings, and perform a Shut-Down. Pull the battery, Sim Card, and SD Card and reboot the phone. Go back into Date/Time and reset it Automatic. This time it stays in the Mountain Time Zone.
Could I possibly need a new Sim Card?
Please Help. I really do not have time to go wait in line for an hour at the Verizon store for them to tell me that they will have to look into it and then not get back to me for a few weeks, if at all.

Need Help with Message Mapping in PI 7.1 - JDBC to IDOC

I have an outgoing SQL function that sends multiple rows of data for use in creating an IDOC in ECC. I am trying to key the creation of new IDOCs (already did the maxOccurs trick to the IDOC definition) based on a field in the JDBC return data...

Each time there is a new TRANS_ID, I need to indicate a new IDOC in the message mapping. I have tried all kinds of combinations of TRANS_ID --> dropContext --> splitValue and TRANS_ID --> collapseContext --> splitValue, but nothing has worked.
Has anyone done this kind of message map (without any BPM please)?

Hello Nathan,
For this one, you have to play with contexts.
row 1 SEGNAM = MARA, TRANS_ID = 1, MATNR = 123...
row 2 SEGNAM = MARC, TRANS_ID = 1, MATNR = 123, WERKS = PL01...
row 3 SEGNAM = MARA, TRANS_ID = 2, MATNR = 987
This also depends on the occurrence of the parent node. example, if I want MATNR to be populated, the logic would be like
ex:
IDOC1..unbounded) (The logic is the already provided in an earlier response)
-->MATNR (1..1)
MATNR --------> removeContext ----------------> FormatByExample --> MATNR
TRANS_ID --> removeContext --> splitByValue:ValueChange --> /
If the rows are not in order of trans_id, then you need to incorporate sorting into the logic above.

for Example: In my IDOC 1 field is showing companycode but I want to see that field as a BUKRS.
How to see the technical names of IDOC fields in Message Mapping.

I dont think we would be able to see the data element names of the IDOC in XI. Even the imported XSD of Idoc doesnot contain data element name.
We would be only dealing with the field names/ structure of the IDOC for field message mappings. The field names are internally mapped to the data element names in SAP R3 system.
To view the internal mapping between field names and data element names of the Idoc fields, you can go to the transaction 'WE30'. Give the basic type of the Idoc and go to the segment editor. You can find the data element names for each field name there.

NEED HELP error messages - cannot install iTunes upgrade

I'm running Windows Vista.
I've been using iTunes for about a year, no problem.
When I went to download the iTunes latest version I have had nothing but problems. I keep getting this error message on trying to install the upgrade for iTunes, and now I cannot even use iTunes:
iTunes could not be installed because Visual Basic Script (VBscript) is not installed or has been disabled. Make sure VBscript is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personal firewall software, re-register VBscript, and then install iTunes.
I have no idea what that message means and I need step by step directions on how to find out of perform whatever that message means.

Need help saving a rendered video in Premiere Elements 13...

I have a rendered video that I am ready to save to my computer. The last Premiere Elements program I had was 1.0 lol. In 1.0, I would select to export the video as .avi and use that to burn to a dvd. In Premiere Elements 13, "export" is grayed out. What it looks like I need to do now is Publish the rendered video, but I don't know what to select to save it to my computer for future burning to a Blue Ray Disc. I plan on using Nero to burn the video to BD. Any help would be appreciated.

Your export opportunities for Premiere Elements 13/13.1 are in the Publish+Share area of the program. Have you updated 13 to 13.1 yet using an opened project's Help Menu/Updates? If not, consider doing so.
What are the properties of your source media on the Timeline that is destined for Nero for your burn to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc?
Have you considered taking your Timeline directly to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc in Premiere Elements 13/13.1 using Publish+Share/Disc/Blu-ray?
Depending on your reply to the above, you could explore for your file....

Need help saving iPhoto library from damaged hard drive

Trying to help my wife, she has the following:
MacBook Pro running OS X Lion version 10.7.3
iPhoto 11 version 9.2.2
Her hard drive failed last week and she had a ton of photos on it, of course not backed up.
We took her machine to the local Apple Store, they confirmed they couldn't recover the data and they installed a new hard drive in the MacBook. We took the old hard drive to my local PC supplier who's very clever, he worked on the hard drive and was able to copy all my wife's documents to another storage device.....but, he couldn't copy the iPhoto library and is requesting some help.....he doesn't know much about Macs, nor how iPhoto works.
I've read a lot of the posts on this forum and am learning about how the iPhoto library works....and how it requires a Mac based back up hard drive in order to copy it. Okay, here are my questions:
1. My PC troubleshooting guy can see the iPhoto library icon on the damaged hard drive, he says its a huge file. It appears we would need to supply him with a Mac formated back up hard drive, then he could just move that iPhoto library icon (which contains all photos) to the new back up drive. Is this correct?
2. Once we have this old iPhoto library on the new back up hard drive, we could bring it home of course, but then I need to get it into the new hard drive on my wife's MacBook Pro. I'm assuming I can plug this back up drive into my wife's machine, then import the old library into her machine. How do I do this properly?
3. If I bring the old library into the new MacBook Pro hard drive, will it erase the existing iPhoto library on her new hard MacBook Pro hard drive, or will it combine them somehow? She has added of course some pics to the new iPhoto library already, but if we have to delete them it won't kill us. The old stuff that got recovered from the damaged drive is more important.

I have another access to her new photos, whereby I could reload them onto her MacBook if we lose the new library.....so I'll save the $20 and just reload them.....two more questions:
1. So, if I drag the iPhoto library folder from the new back up hard drive to the Pictures Folder in Finder, will that overwrite the existing library folder on her MacBook?
2. After I drag this folder into finder, will iPhoto recognize everything? I assume yes....just checking.

I have below Query. Can you please suggest how do i solve below case.
My source system has 4 fileds A , B, C, D and the target system has 1 Filed TOTAL.
I have to concatenate all the 4 source fields by using slash(/) and placed in TOTAL target field.
i need output has A/B/C/D.
but here is my Query? if any one of the field is not present in source field i.e. if source B filed is empty then I have to print Output has A/C/D.
NOTE: there is no empty slashes for B.
Please help me on this issue.

Need help saving layer styles Photoshop CS6 Extended for Mac (Mountain Lion)

I have been trying to learn Photoshop. I am using Photoshop CS6 Extended on a Macbook Pro (Mountain Lion). My Adobe software has been updated. I have been doing tutorials using a lot of layer styles. In one of these tutorials, it was suggested that if I would possibly want to use the style again that I should save it. At this point I had entered all my layer styles info and was still in the window with the list of layer styles on the left (bevel and emboss, drop shadow, etc., and the "New Style" button on the right. I clicked on the "New Style" button and when another window popped up asking me to name the style, I named it. When I looked at my styles in the styles panel, I saw the little button for the new style. I saved my graphic and closed it. Later I wanted to apply this style to text in another graphic. The style was used on text originally. When I clicked on it though the style didn't look the same. Upon investigation, a couple of setting under Bevel and Emboss had reverted to defaults. They were different numbers when I saved the style. I could go back in and change these two numbers and get the same results, but I don't understand why these numbers changed on their own -- why the style didn't completely "save." Is there something I have done wrong, or is this some kind of bug? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Thank you very much for your reply! Yes, both documents were at 72 resolution. This morning I tried to save yet another style (same resolution document). It worked when I used it the first time. Then I switched to the other style I had saved. That one took some of the bevel and emboss settings from this morning's style. The numbers which will not save are the angle and altitude under the shading section. Just now I made another document (text at 72 resolution) and both styles had changed these numbers to 120 and 30. Is this something I am doing wrong? I am trying to use text of a similar font and size. I updated my software last night in the hopes that that would help. This morning I reset preferences. Don't know what to do! Thanks for helping me!

Need help saving image to SQL as BLOB, then sending as email attachment

These forums have gotten me most of the way through this particular project, but I'm finally stumped...
First, I'll describe exactly what I'm trying to do: the user chooses an image file client side and the server-side code then converts it to binary data and saves it to SQL. Then as a separate step, an email will be sent out with that image file loaded from the DB as an attachment.
So I've actually got most of this working. I'm using the O'Reilly MultipartParser class to pull the file input stream from the Request and insert it into SQL BLOB column ("image" datatype). I can successfully send Text attachments by simply converting the binary data back to a string and then using a subclass of DataSource (ByteArrayDataSource) to feed it to the mail object.
After getting the text documents to work, I then moved on to trying to send images.
I tried to send images using essentially the same technique as sending text. The image file gets saved to SQL the same way and I then convert the binary data back to a string an attach it. The only difference is that I set the content-type to "image/gif".
I didn't really expect this to work, however, I am able to "Preview" very simple Gifs (in XP) that I've attached. I cannot "Open" them, though, and I cannot even "Preview" more complicated Gifs.
So on to my real questions. I didn't really expect that you could simply output binary image data into Text format and simply slap on a ".gif" and expect it to work. Am I right about that? XP's "preview" option seems to read it okay, but I really need to be able to "open" these files.
So basically I need to know what to DO with that binary data in SQL in order to successfully attach it as a true image file. Is this an encoding issue? MIME type?
I didn't want to paste all the code but I'll paste the snippet that deals with the attachment section. If you'd like to see any other parts, please just let me know...

...Another interesting thing I'm seeing is that when I view the small Gif as text, I see this:
GIF89a � !� , D ;
While the file I'm getting from SQL as an attachment looks like this:
GIF89a ? !? , D ;
Obviously, the question marks are unknown, but I'm not quite sure why. I outputted the char values as integers and found that the first question mark is 65408 and the second one's value is 65529. Obviously something is getting changed somewhere in the process, but I'm not quite sure how and where.

Nevermind! Of course, I figured it all out after writing that long post.
I had tried using a byte array instead of the String in the ByteArrayDataSource and it hadn't worked. However once I cleaned up the code a bit I got it working.

Need help creating message in HTML Standard Editor Item

Hi,
I have a requirement in which from page 1 using javascript I have to create a message with link into the HTML Editor Item on the different page on different application.
everything works fine except when i compose a message which has a link eg. http://www.yahoo.com, it cuts off at http .
please help me creating and passing link using javascript.
