Need help to activate my internet on solaris

Hello everyone,
I just installed solaris, but I was having problem of setting up my internet. Before I installed solaris, I had windows and the internet worked fine. I was wondering what part of the configuration am I missing? I have browsed through some of the past threads, but I am having some difficulty of understanding them. I am pretty new to the linux/solaris OS. If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreate.

Sorry, but as the matter of fact that I am a student, I rely on my internet quite heavy for school works. So I have decided to temperarily boot with vista. I will try to reboot with solaris during this weekend for all the suggestions that everyone has provided for me. I hope this is okay. I will for sure get back this weekend and try to make things work.

You must put in the required information. If you do not have it, you must get it from the original owner of the phone. If you have forgotten your iCloud password, you can reset it at:

There is no such thing as an activation "bypass". Activation Lock is a security feature. It wouldn't be that secure is you could bypass it, wouldn't it?

Need help connecting to the internet via Dial-up?

Hi! My son and his mini have moved back to Vermont, and where he is only dial-up is available. I thought the hookup would be simple......I haven't a clue. I have been on high spped cable for so long that I need help!!!!! Here is what I tried. Phone cable to the modem. (Can't connect it directly to the mini because it only takes an ethernet cable) USB cable from the modem to the mini. Using the Verizon software we got nowhere because we could not get a connection...Need help, Thanks Bill

The first bit of info is which Verizon number to use to dial-up, so that it is a local call. Is your son going to call from Essex Jct or somewhere else? Basically we need his area code and first three digits of phone number, if you are comfortable giving that. Otherwise you'll have to call Verizon and ask them for the local number to call.
Then we have to look up how Verizon wants login info. Perhaps another customer can help here. The conventions vary from one ISP to another. Please don't give us you login here!
That should be enough to get you connected and surfing. Then we have to configure the mail program. But again a little research or help from another Verizon customer will do the trick.
Please don't install their software. I've spent countless hours removing ISPs' extra software from friends computers. Such software does not necessarily make things faster and it leaves you with a non-standard system. It's also about getting their hooks into you to push more advertising at you and more revenue their way. (This helps explain why they are so eager for you to use their software BTW.)
There are techniques to speed up dial-up, but they don't involve extra ISP software and ads. They have to do with keeping the ads away in the first place.

Hello there i need help, on Ubuntu Linux i cant connect to my bt home bub when i connect to it says you are now offline and i try connecting to it but it does the same thing ive tried and ive tried, the network name comes up but i cant connect to it.

IP Address - 192.168.1.64 ( mine is 64, the end number, depends on your network on windows)
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.1.254
DNS Server - 192.168.1.254.
i opened up the network manager and under connections i put in the details manually
i found these details by doing ipconfig on windows in cmd.

Need help with Z10 getting Internet

Summary: I bought BB Z10 in Indonesia and they said it was unlocked for Europe.
OS release 10.1.0.273 installed last week after replacing factory settings. SiM card is newly purchased at Tele 2 and internet works well in my other BB (BOLD) but not in Z10.
The PIN code 0000 is taken off so I boot the Z10 without a PIN.
With other SIM (other provider) in Z10 everything works properly.
All institutions for internet on Z10 are correct, just do not have 4G.
Have also APN internet.tele2.nl completed and authentication type to PAP. Tele2 geeft aan dat gebruikersnaam en wachtwoord niet nodig zijn. Then it comes: .... "save" does not work because then the fields are empty again.
Customer service indicates that it is not because of Tele2 SIM coz it works in other BB..
So, who has similar experience and know possible solution?

The most current iOS version is 8.1.3.
It is a iPad Air (WiFi only). You need a WiFi connection for internet.
Settings > WiFI > Select your network & enter the password for the network

recently i had downloaded solaris 10 the download to windows only version i have been using ubuntu for some time
now with solaris 10 i cannot get an internet connection
when i searched the suns site for help
and read some of what to do
the instructions dotn even corresponbd to the version im using.
(i loge into the java enviroment)
anyways suns site tell me to do this
1. Click the [Launch] button and select "Preferences - System".
2. In the following window, double click the "Hardware" icon.
3. In the "Hardware" window, double click the "Network Card" icon.
(((I dont even see a hardwarwe icon there)))

Once the steps below have completed successfully, as they
apparently have, then you have created the correct instructions
for compiling the drivers for your card.
# cd /.../vfe-x.x.x
# rm obj Makefile
# ln -s Makefile.i386_gcc Makefile
# ln -s i386 obj
Then you need to actually do the compilation.
Check to see if the 'make' command is in your PATH by
running the following command
# which make
If you get back an error message, it's not in your PATH.
If you get back a directory name, it is.
If it's not in your PATH,
# grep -w make /var/sadm/install/contents
(The word 'none' in that file does not mean a missing
file, BTW.
# man pkgmap
will tell you what the none means -- I've forgotten.
The first field of each row of results is the path to the installed
file. )
On my system, make is installed in /usr/ccs/bin, so I having cd'ed
into the directory of the Makefile (where you were ln -s'ing), I could
either run
# /usr/ccs/bin/make
or I could temporarily add the directory to my PATH, then run 'make'.
# PATH = /usr/ccs/bin ; export PATH
# make
Your make may be installed someplace else, so you'll have to adjust
these examples to suit.
If make completes happily, then your system will have the drivers
for your card installed.
To get the system to actually try to use the drivers needs one last
step:
# ifconfig -a
should only give you lo0, the 127.0.0.1 loopbak address
# ifconfig -a plumb
tries to find all the network cards it can
# ifconfig -a
should give you lo0 and another one (sorry, I don't know what your
card shows up as).
If any of the steps above fail, please provide the commands you ran
and the exact errors messages (good thing you found the floppy! :-> ).
Once you can see two results from ifconfig -a, run the following command
# sys-unconfig
This is the easy way to set up hostname, IP (DHCP), netmask & stuff
without hand-editing files -- it just runs the section of the installer
that would have run, had your card been detected in the first place.

Need help setting up wireless internet network

I have a 1 GHz iMac G4 (purchased in 2003) that has a dsl connection to the internet via an ethernet cable and the dsl modem that was provided by my internet service (earthlink). My friend recently gave me her imac - same model. I've given it to my son for his room and would like to set up a wireless network so I can get his computer on the internet too.
I've read enough here to figure out that our computers are compatible with the AirPort Extreme card. But what other equipment do I need? How many Airport Extreme cards? an AirPort station?, a router? I'm clueless but very good at following instructions. So if there is an FAQ somewhere that would be helpful too.

You need a wireless router. You can use one of Apple's or a 3rd party wireless router.
You can connect one of the iMacs to the router via Ethernet if you want. Or you can add AirPort Extreme cards to both iMacs.

Need help with setting up Internet sharing to PS3

Hey, so I am trying to use my Macbook as a wired router to my PS3 (My Macbook is on my wireless Linksys router and I have the cable needed to create a wired connection from my Macbook to my PS3. I had this setup working once before after getting a specific set of numbers from a google search but can't seem to find that page anymore. I've only been able to find threads on creating a wireless connection. So here is my problem. From system prefs, I am entering into my PS3 all the numbers my Macbook is giving me from system prefs (my IP address, default router, subnet mask, and DNS servers). But ever time I run an internet connection test I get DNS Error 80710102. If someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Need help creating a bootable dvd for solaris 9 using windows

Ok, I am using windows XP, I have 2 hard drives in my computer and want to load Solaris 9 on my other hard drive. I have downloaded the ziped ISO files from sun.com, I have extracted them (sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-a, sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-b, sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-c, sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-d, and sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-e) Now what? I burned them to a DVD but its not booting to them (I have checked my boot sequence) I figured I would have to make a bootable DVD but I don't know how. All the instructions I am finding are for doing it in Solaris 9. Can someone please give me instructions on what I need to do now that I have downloaded the files or point me to a site that already has the instructions? Also I have Nero 7 Essentials as my DVD burning software.

Copy all unzipped pieces into one directory (sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-a, sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-b etc... all 5 pieces)
take command prompt and goto that directory and run the below command
copy /b sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-a + sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-b + sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-c + sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-d + sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso-e sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso.iso
It will create sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso.iso file.
Using any DVD Burner software (e.g. Nero 7 or later), Burn the newly ceated image ( sol-9-u8-ga-x86-dvd-iso.iso) do "Burn Image" (NOT a DATA DVD/CD)

My problem here is,with the commit work statement after FM, the mail is triggering correctly.but if, am not using the commit work statement,at the very first time of execution mail is not triggering, and the second time of execution first mail is triggering like wise it is going.The status of the message is waiting in queue.

Need help getting GPS without internet

How can I turn off the internet without going to Airplane Mode? I will be leaving the country and would like to use the GPS feature with a free map app, but do not want to pay for the internet. Thanks!

Just a clarification. It doesn't need the GPS data downloaded ahead of time. It needs the other stuff, the map pictures. The GPS (identifying where the phone is) will work even if cellular data is off. There are mapping apps that will cache maps on the phone.

Need help to activate my iPad mini

Hello, I have an iPad mini 16gb with celular. I buy it second and his first owner told me that he has ios 7 beta version on it and I have to update it. I tried to update it but it told me that I have the latest version when I check for updates.
On 6/10/2013 I got an error, it say that I have to activate my iPad. I tried to activate it and login with my apple id, but I got an error (server temporarly unvailable). Today, 7/10/2013 I tried again and I got the same error.
I connected it to my pc and I tried to update with itunes... I got an uncknown error 3004.
I tried to restore it... I got the same 3004 error.
I tried to restore it in DFU mode... I got the same error.
DO you have any ideea what I can to?
