    Google Chrome is a problem:
if you use Chrome's own PDF viewer, the results are unpredictable.
if you use the Adobe Reader plugin with Chrome, it may reject (block) it if it is not the latest version.  Reader 11.0.08 is the latest version for Windows XP, but Chrome may insist on the current version 11.0.10.
My suggestion; use a different browser!

  • I get a pop up from Adobe telling me to accept the end user agreement. How do I do this?

how do I accept the end user agreement?

    Hi Frank,
Do you get the message when you try to open a PDF via a web browser? If so, you need to open Adobe Reader (install it if you don't have it), and accept the end-user license agreement when it opens.

  • Installation and Launch - Adobe Reader XI on Mac - No program window.

I've installed and re-installed Adobe Reader XI on my computer, and ensured that it was the Mac client each time, however upon launching the application from my applications folder, it starts the program, but the program does nothing. It appears active in my task bar, but it has no windows, and whenever I go to check; Adobe Reader, File, Edit, View, Window, & Help. All actions are greyed out and I'm left unable to do anything. I've been unable to come across reports of similar problems, and I do meet the system requirements in order for the application to function.
    What do I do?

What happens when you attempt to open a PDF file in Adobe Reader like the PDF file in your Downloads folder named "About Downloads.pdf"?    Just drag it on top of Adobe Reader and see what happens.

  • Please help I can not launch Adobe Reader XI

My adobe reader suddenly stopped working yesterday.
I was running version 8 or 9 under windos 7 and it suddenly gave me a strange error message that the Core DLL failed to load.  I have never seen this happen before.  It's also asking me if I want to run protected mode off and I keep saying yes  please help!!
    thanks
    Marc

I used version 9.  Basically what happened was it decided to stop working.  I uninstalled version 9 and installed 11 and it gives the same error message "Core DLL failed to load".  Also tried running it in Non protected mode.  also tried repairing both versions in the control panel.  nothing's working!   very strange considering up to a few days ago version 9 was wortking fine and has been for years
    thanks any help is appreciated!

  • Im having trouble downloading Adobe Reader,  its not accepting the password (which I reset few hours ago)   ??

Question >   Im having trouble downloading Adobe Reader.  It gets to box that requires name and password, but does not accept info.  I have already reset password few hours ago in Account Settings.  Any suggestions???

You don't need a password to download Adobe Reader (or any other free Adobe apps).  However, your computer may request you to enter its Administrator password to install the software.

  • Reader X problem - Accept End User License Agreement

I have recently updated to Adobe Reader X.
I use Windows XP (SP3) and Internet Explorer.
    Now, when I attempt to read a .pdf file a Reader X message pops up with the following message;
"Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement".
I do not have Adobe Acrobat, I am using the free Adobe Reader X.
Why am I getting this message and what can I do to stop it so that I can again read .pdf files.
This never happened with the previous version of Adobe Reader.
How can I go back to the previous version?
    Thanks
    Gryphon2345

I have the same issue reported by Gryphon, however this response is an odd fix IF it were to be available to me.
The "Enable Protected Mode" is a new feature in Reader X that allows for a "sandbox" security layer in Reader. You can read up on that here: http://blogs.adobe.com/livecycle/2010/11/technical-details-of-adobe-reader-x-protected-mod e.html
While it does prevent you from opening up certain PDF's directly, we've only seen this when opening up files over our network. The message received was an "Access Denied" issue, and turning this off got rid of that.
In my scenario, I originally attemtped to update Reader 10.0.1 to 10.1.0 using SCUP and the published update. This caused my custom setup to be overwritten (customizations included default acceptance of license agreement, removing Auto Updater, and disableing Protected Mode). I then had to re-create a custom installation using the Customization Wizard with the 10.1.0 MSI file from the Adobe FTP site. After running this, I'm getting the above error now on machines that never had Acrobat.
That being said, Alex's suggestion of turning this on or off is not applicable b/c it's disabled based on my custom installation. The box is grayed out and I can't even enable/disable it anyway.
Anyone out there have a better solution?
UPDATE: It appears that Alex is correct. I removed the registry entry bProtectedMode from HKLM\Software\Policies\adobe\10.0\featureLockdown and was able to open all files w/out the message. However, I'm not 100% sure what this will do to other PDF files as we originally disabled this so that certain files could be opened. So far, this user has been ok with Protected Mode ENABLED, however, in a recent test, I was blocked from opening a web PDF b/c of it on my PC at my desk.
also appears others threads have been started (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3767559#3767559) so not sure when this may be looked at or answered.

  • I cannot print a PDF.  Tried HELP and "Repair Adobe Reader Installation" and that didn't help???

I am not sure what else to do at this point.  I have printed many PDF documents before and all of a sudden the ability to print them stopped.  And when I go to print a PDF it asks me to save the document - and won't save it as a PDF?  Also - I am trying to print old PDFs that I know I have printed in the past and it won't print those either.  Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.  Pulling my hair out here. =)

That sounds like you have 'Print to File' set (Advanced button on Print panel).

  • Need help filling out forms in Adobe Reader 10.

Just upgraded to Adobbe Reader 10. How can I fill out forms?  There is no hand tool. I checked the security of the document. It states that filling out forms is allowed.  Please help. There is no way that the sender of the document expected it to be filled out by hand.  Thanks!!!

That only means that IF it had filable fields, you would be alowed to fill them in. It does not mean that those fields exist. If it's fillable, you would get a notification at the top of the PDF.

  • Adobe reader won't accept the password I know is right

So I can't download it.  Help!

We can't help you... Double-check upper/lower-case letters, and also make sure that you're using the right encoding, especially if special characters are used.

  • Can't view pdf; getting message to launch Adobe Reader and sign user agreement that I can't find.

I'm trying to view my son's 1098-T on his college's website, but keep getting the message "Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement, then Quit and relaunch the browser."
When I launch Adobe Reader, I can't find a user agreement to accept.  I have tried relaunching both Google Chrome and Adobe Reader several times to no avail. I've also redownloaded and tried to reinstall Adobe Reader, but it got a message it was already installed. I previously had problems getting the pdf to fill (the form was blank and didn't have my student's info), and reinstalled Adobe Reader before I realized I had to disable Google Chrome's pdf  viewer, which I have since done.

    Sorry. I have a Mac with OS X 10.9.5
I've since totally deleted Adobe Reader and reinstalled it but have the same problem anytime I try to view a PDF with Adobe Reader.  The college website won't let me save the form, only view it.  If I use another pdf viewer the form won't fill with my son's info; I think it has to be Adobe Reader for some reason

  • Functionality missing - excel opening pdf file launches adobe reader

When i opened a PDF file in excel or word it used to launch adobe reader instead and show me the file. Yesterday i installed internet explorer 8 and now this functionality has disappeard.
Anybody knows how to get it back?

    Hi and thanks for replying.
Well, there used to be something running on the background that opens pdf files in adobe, even if you tried opening them in office applications. And i dont know how it works but now it's gone.
Problem for me is not the opening thru another program itself, but the functionality being there and now being gone with the installation of internet explorer 8. Also, for some people, like my father, opening something thru adobe reader is very different then opening something thru excel.
I hope this helps and some1 can point me to the background process to see if i can update/implenent something in ie8.

  • How do you launch adobe reader

How do you repair a .dmg file and launch adobe reader?

You shouldn't be running Reader from a DMG file.
You should ONLY run it from your Applications folder.

  • Launching Adobe Reader?

I really don't know what this is for.  The only reason I happened to get into this is because it popped up on a page where I tried to print a coupon which I rarely do but have never had a problem doing so.  I don't have the app for Adobe & wouldn't know what to do with it if I did.  I went through the steps for EchoSign only because I got an email to "Launch Adobe Reader & click Accept then the End User License Agreement then click quit & relaunch the browser."  I kept going & clicking until nothing ever happened but I signed the agreement so I could get to the next step which still didn't launch anything & the browser never showed up untill here I am in total obfuscation when all I wanted to do was so simple.
