Need help Today! Invisible clips--still photos show but no clips
I've never seen this problem. At the end of a 16 minute iMovie project (mainly photo slide show with music and narration) still shots from ealier in the movie re-appear after the last clip in the timeline. But the clips of the still shots cannot be seen at the end of the timeline, and thus there's nothing there to delete.
I repaired permissions and deleted preference files, but don't know what else to do.
This project is due to the client today. I burned the DVD all last night only to discover this problem in the iMovie project this morning. (I guess it took all night because of the many fancy transitions that were included in the proejct.)
I really would appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks Daniel. I sorta did that. Simply copied all the timeline and audio clips, relocked them together and am now re-burning the DVD. For some reason it seems to burning faster this time as well.
I was desperate for help because thought I'd be stuck with those invisible clips.

Try:

i am having problems exporting my time lapses from quick time pro i need to save my files as photo jpegs but the standard video compression window will not open fully, it just keeps my mac (old 1.6Ghz 2.5 GB sdram G5 still good for most stuff i need) spinning for ever but i can see compression type H.264 selected and the other setting but i can not select any other options as it still thinking but never opens! why is this happening how do i get round it?
my work flow is: 300 images shot on a 5d mark II medium jpegs opened in Light Room cropped to 16:9 then exported and opened in quick time i can save a .mov H264 giving me files sizes of 14 mb for a 16 second time lapse, mp4 9 mb. the only way i can get large files is saving as a self contained movie then i get 300mb files.
i need to save my files 1920 x 1080 photo jpeg codec as i want HD quality.
i am sure there is a simple way round this?

I buy for mac app but not for the iPad, so how do I reinstall a program that has already purchased? I need help because I bought the imovie'11 but when he opened it only brought 8 movie trailer templates instead of the 15 it says on the program. How do I solve this problem? Once paid for a program incomplete. I also liked that the AppStore itself had a button to reinstall programs already bought, because it is very hard to understand how to do this in the store, only option is to install and hide purchase, and how do I reinstall, attention'm talking about reinstalling a computer mac, not an ipad or iphone.

1. You bought a used/refurbished Mac and there is software on it without any accompanying discs, and it is older than July 20, 2011 in model release:

Or if it is at or newer, then erase it if it has applications installed that would not have been prebundled with it and you have no CDs for those applications.
You don't want someone else's software keys, or accounts, or to be running unlicensed software. At and newer Macs offer a built-in internet restore for their software with a command-R boot that lets you erase the system with Disk Utility, and then install from the internet the latest operating system.
2. You have a hardware issue and want to eliminate possible software issues as the cause when troubleshooting a problem all at once.
Issues affecting a new install have to be isolated before you attempt it. Unless you know it is software or hardware, erasing may only mask other problems. -

RaytownIt's a nice website. I can see you've done alot of work on

side. But every button seems to open a new window with a
seperate movie in
it & they all seem to take ages to load and I have a
fairly fast cable
connection.
Take my word, your visitors will soon become disenchanted
with it. Better to
have an under construction page I would have thought, until
you get it all
working a bit more smoothly.
Lots of work needed optimising the finished file sizes &
better to use
loadMovie to load your movie clips into different levels in
the flash
player, than keep opening new browser windows.

NEED HELP! Poor quality stills and text
I'm finishing up a corporate video with lots of still pictures and text. Unfortunately, It's so bad I can't show it to the customer. As always, the video footage looks great but the still photos and the text looks very, very bad when played on a DVD. I compressed the MOV file with Compressor using the Apple-Best Quality DVD settings. I'm beginning to think stills and text will always look bad on TV. Is there a way to improve this? Is Compressor the best tool to compress my file?
Getting still images to look good at DV resolution and color depth can be a struggle.
A couple of tips.
1.Do not use images with more pixels than you absolutely need. If you are in the US (NTSC) and the images don't have any pan/zoom moves, size them to 720x480 (DV pixel ratio) in Photoshop before importing them into FCP. FCP is not a very elegant scaler.
2. Make sure the contrast in the images is under control. Keep the whites below 90.
3. It the images have a lot of high contract detail (think leaves in bright sunlight), sometimes a slight vertical gaussian blur of .3-.5 pixels can help.
4. If the total running time of the material is under 60 minutes, use a Constant Bit Rate of 6.5 or so in the Compressor settings.
If all of these don't really do it for you, and if the material is all stills, you might try to do the slide show in Fotomagico or Motion then output it as a video file for import into FCP.

Need help re invisible shield....quick it's drying!

I need help re the invisible shield. I installed the front and back but here is the hitch-the front "sides" don't stay down. Did anyone have trouble with this? I didn't have the problem with the back "sides" I guess because they are so much wider.
Its drying as we speak.

Thanks!i never applied pressure to anything, you must be doing something wrong. I drenched the entire shield: front, back , circle, and smaller circle in water with soap, then applied it. used a credit card to get out the air bubbles and then let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Dried on its own and have not had a problem. You should try reading the instructions that come in the envelope before you install it, using water alone does not help.

I never used to have this problem, but when I drag and drop a still photo from the iphoto library, sometimes it shows up as a different photo than what is displayed in the drag and drop screen.
Or when I try to replace a photo with an updated version of the photo, it shows either another photo, freezes or shows the old photo.
Is anyone else having this issue? I have the most recent updated version of Imovie running on Lion.I wonder if this is the same as your problem.

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
