Need help: Unable to tether, personal hotspot settings are ON
Was hoping to see if I can get a solution here. Network service provider couldn't fix it.
1. tethering is enabled for the network I'm on.
2. My "Personal Hotspot" is on.
3. iPhone plugged in via USB
4. iTunes is running.
Unfortunately, it doesn't tether automatically like how it should. It's just not happening. I tried looking under the Network services and can't find the network to connect to.
Tethering used to work before I made the iOS 4.3 update, now it's not. Was wondering if any of you are having the same issue here? Or have a solution for this.
Turn off you Wifi everywhere and try the following:
I found a solution to USB tethering problems since recent firmware upgrades and share that here in case anyone else is having the same issue:
Since the introduction of the firmware update 4.3.2 or somewhere thereabouts, and personal hotspot implementation, "Tether using USB" has disappeared from the menu.
Semantically, where they've put it makes no sense (except financially, from forcing frustrated former users of USB tethering to use the wifi personal hotspot, forget, and rack up data charges with their carriers) - USB tethering is hiding under "Personal Hotspot" and the listed instructions don't work unless certain conditions are met. The iPhone shows up as a digital camera only under My Computer in Windows 7 until I follow the list below.
Here's how I got it to work today. There may be better ways and you may not need to take all steps but if you're like me you just want to get it working and carry on.
Solution: (assuming your iPhone is plugged in via USB, and Personal Hotspot is OFF (under Network | Personal Hotspot, and you're not connected to the Internet any other way....
0. Close iTunes if it's open
1. Turn Wifi off on your laptop
2. Turn Wifi off on your iPhone
3. Go into the Network | Personal Hotspot menu and turn P.H. on.
4. I get a dialog querying whether I want to turn Wifi on, or to use USB or Bluetooth. Choose the second option
5. Wait a little bit and it should find the device correctly and connect you to the internet. Verify with a web page.
Feel free to update or eliminate the list above and the assumptions but there you go, it works.

After the upgrade to ios7.1, I'm unable to use personal hotspot. When I click setup it prompts me to contact my carrier to enable.
My gadget is iPhone 4Hey Owinoc,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with Personal Hotspot since upgrading to iOS 7.1. The following resource may provide a solution:
iOS: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2756
Basic troubleshooting
1. See if your iOS device, computer, and wireless plan all meet the system requirements for Personal Hotspot.
2. Make sure Personal Hotspot is on: Tap Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
3. Check the Internet connection on your iOS device: Tap Safari and load a new webpage.
4. If one connection type doesn't work, try another. For example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, use USB or Bluetooth.
5. Turn Personal Hotspot off and on: Tap Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
6. Install the latest version of iOS.
7. Reset your network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
8. If you still see the issue, restore the iPhone.
If you're still experiencing issues, try the steps below. […]
Thanks,

HT201270 I am unable to use personal hotspot in iPad 3
I am unable to get the settings as personal hotspot .
Does your carrier support it on the iPad (even if they support it on the iPhone they don't necessarily also support it on the iPad) ? You may also need to contact them in case it's an extra fee/subscription, and it should initially appear under Settings > General > Network > Personal Hotspot (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4517)

I have an iPhone 5 and I tried to use my personal hotspot but I don't have settings for it. When I called Talk Talk - they were unable to provide me woth the settings (as they do not selol iPhones and I bought a sim only contract). Where can I get the settings for it? I have used personal hotspot on this phone but with different networks and they seem to run fine.
Is the personal hotspot feature part of your contract with your provider? If not, you will not be able to use it.

IPad mini retina, iOS 7 unable to join Personal Hotspot
I have iPhone 5, iPad mini retina running on iOS 7.1.2, Laptop Windows. When I turn on Personal Hotspot (PH), other PC, Tablet,.. suppose to join the PH normally via Wifi, Bluetooth, Cable. But I found that after my iPhone join a 5GHz band wifi, and then I turn on HP, other PC can't connect via Wifi, only can connect via Bluetooth or Cable.
I use a Linksys EA3500 dual band wifi router. It works perfectly for my need
So say in step that won't work:
1. Connect iPhone to a 5GHz band wifi at home
2. Later I hang out and need to share my 3G with my ipad mini wifi, so I turn on PH
3. All devices failed to connect to PH via Wifi, but bluetooth or cable can connect successful
Step that works:
1. iPhone already connect to 5GHz band at home, before I leaving home, I connect it again to a 2.4GHz band
2. Turn on PH where don't have wifi
3. Other device successful connect to PH.
So the problems here is the 5 GHz band problem with iPhone. After connect to 5GHz band, other devices can't connect to iPhone, like it refused other devices to connect to, or something like problem with iOS 7.
p/s: I have already doing the "clean" state of iOS 7 to test on both iPhone and iPad. Do a restore on both device, test its and same problem. Thanks for your response,
You should check with the apple site before saying this, from iPhone 5 and above, it has already support for 5GHz bands. If my iPhone does not compatible with 5GHz bands how come it connect to 5GHz band back home -

Need help: unable to login Adobe Content Viewer on iPad
Need help: not able to login with my Adobe Id and password on adobe content viewer on iPad. I'm able to login on the adobe.com site with my Id and password, but not on my iPad in the adobe content viewer. I've reset my Adobe ID password a couple of times to make sure I'm using the correct password and ID and I've even tried it with a complete new Adobe ID account, but it has not helped. Anybody who knows how to solve this?
Your Adobe ID needs to be verified to work with DPS. Can you use that Adobe ID to sign in to the Folio Builder panel? If not, sign in to http://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com and follow the prompts to verify the Adobe ID.
If your Adobe ID is verified, try removing the Adobe Content Viewer app from both the iPad and iTunes, sync, and install it again. -

Need help, unable to find my Serial Number
I recently moved to a new house, with all the ensuing hassles. Shortly after moving I decided to upgrade my computer to Windows 8. And in order to try and get rid of some old problems I only kept the private files and did a clean update.
After (succesful) Windows upgrade I had to reinstall my Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended, only to find out that I cannot find the box containing the CD. It must have been misplaced during our moving. On my Adobe account on adobe.com I find no trace of the order, although I did buy it through Adobe. All I have is an email from Adobe thanking me for buying the CS6 and encouraging me to register my new product. Which I forgot to do.
So here I am, without my serial number and thus unable to get Photoshop back onto my computer. This is extremely worrying, is there anything I can do?

OTOH, each userland program interacts with the kernel through system calls, signals, pageing activity, ...
My guess is that it's either broken hardware, or a fault in the linux kernel.
Is the crash reproducible? Does ist always crash with the same error message, at the same "eip" location?
If the crashes are sporadic and non deterministic, with different error messages each time, then I'd say it's
a hardware problem. Otherwise, it could be a linux kernel software problem. -
