Need help understandin section breaks or page breaks

Hi there, was hoping I can gain a better undersrtanding of how to use section breaks and page breaks.
I have typed several reports while using apple pages. I click on the VIEW button on upper left corner and all the pages appear to run continously. I do not want that to continue to happen. How can I make each and every page its own page. I have done it once years ago and have observed a this fine line below each page under the view option so that I may move or rearragne pages. Can someone please help?

Pages 5.1 only lets you delete Sections, you can't drag them into place.
You can Menu > Insert > Section Break on the bottom of every page or
Setup > Document > uncheck Document Body which will delete all yout content in teh Document Body
or Better still use Pages '09 which should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

What router are you using? Almost all Linksys routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default local IP address, but there is at least one that uses 192.168.16.1 , namely the WTR54GS (not the WRT54GS).
You need to try again to reset the router to factory defaults.
To reset your router to factory defaults, use the following procedure:
1) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
2) Disconnect all wires from the router.
3) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
4) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes).
5) Power down the router.
6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Leave the user name blank (note: a few Linksys routers have a default user name of "admin" (with no quotes)), and in the password field, enter "admin" (with no quotes). This will take you to your router setup page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen). Exit your browser.
If you get this far without problems, try the setup disk (or setup the router manually, if you prefer), and see if you can get your router setup and working.
If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead.
If you get a reply in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, then either your router is dead or the firmware is corrupt. In this case, use the Linksys tftp.exe program to try to reload your router with the latest firmware. After reloading the firmware, repeat the above procedure starting with step 1.
If you need additional help, please state your ISP, the make and model of your modem, your router's firmware version, and the results of steps 9 and 10. Also, if you get any error messages, copy them exactly and report back.

Help with pagination and conditional page breaks

I have a rather complex form where pages are added based on what the user has entered in a table with repeatable rows. For most of the pages, conditional page breaks are working fairly well, but I have a group of pages with nested subforms that need page breaks. The inner subform is breaking as expected, but the parent page break isn't triggering for some reason.
Is this a bug within Livecycle or is it possible to fix?

In MS Word, it is possible to prevent tables from breaking at page breaks. So, if a table, when populated with data gets too big for the spae allotted on one page, the table will move in its entirety, to the next page. Can this be done in "Pages"?

I am trying to figure out ow to prevent tables from breaking along a row when there is a page break in "Pages". This is done in MS Word by going under Table properties under "Rows". I have a document with small three row tables and I want to keep the tables together and move to the next page in its entirety when there is a page break. Help!

The table that I don't want to break between rows looks like this, except it fits the width of the page:

I inserted a Inline Text box into the document, copied the table inside the text box, then pasted it through the document (which lists quilting projects). When the table spans a page break, even when in an inline text box, the picture which is in the right hand column splits, as well as the information pertaining to the particular quilt.

need to strip out the ALT= text to show inside the anchor. If no

How do I get the resulting page from a form (which include the
login inputs and submit button, search box, advanced search page,
etc.) to be displayed by the text only page?

In this case, the action value is:

I've written a socket/text scraper in Perl, running it from a web
server. The problems mentioned above are really causing problems,
plus the whole cookie thing. Since Oracle Portal tries to push a
cookie to the client, when the client is another UNIX server,
the cookie thing doesn't work.

create some sort of PL/SQL procedure to catch the content then
strip out the HTML calls.
An Applet to do the same thing, but on the client side, but

funded, and to meet Section 508 (part of the Americans with

Use Find/Change and the GREP tab.
Search for .+ and set the Find formatting to find the charcteristics you want.
What will you do with this text once found? You'll need something to "change" to, either new text or Change Formatting options...

Going by what I understand here is a simple version of how you can read data from over HTTP.
This expects the "page" to be text (hence an InputStreamReader instead of an InputStream.)

I have a godaddy website with a welcome page- I need help adding a few additional pages with a hyperlink to my welcome page.

I need help attaching a few hyperlinks my godaddy welcome page. I have 2 more ipages articles, I also converted them to pdf. Godaddy only helped (last year) with the 1st article. I do not know how to attach a hyperlink to the artlcles and add the hyperlinks to my welcome page.

The program is called Pages not iPages. Just let us know if you do not speak English and what language you do speak so we can adjust for that.
The issues are to do with your web page not with Pages.
I think you are asking how to link from your web page to your pdf articles. You must first copy those pdfs to your web server, or some other web location, and then provide html links on your welcome page to those pdf files.
The pdfs themselves may contain links to other locations but I can not see that that is what you are asking for.
Nor to what those links would be to.
From your heading I think you may have confused the name of Pages, the word processing program, with web pages which are two different things.

Great catch on the aplet and maybe that is where I am going wrong. So let me back up a little and maybe you can get me out of my bind.
Basically what I want for a test app is: a little text box w/ a button. type in an number and click the button.
the button will then send the info to a terminal emulator. (ibm host on demand)
So that is what the 3 include statements where for. I got that from the API example.
so what I really need the page to do is print the list of connections.
so I need to get the latest session ID:

Need help on Oracle APEX- Retaining Page items of one Session in another

Hi,
I am creating an apex application in which there exist two pages. Out of 2 pages, I need to provide authentication on one page and no authentication on the other one.
When I access the first page by public, I must pass some page items to the second page. Since, I have aunthentication on page 2, there will be a new session created and I could not retain the page items that are passed from Page 1 to Page2.
Please help me in retaining the page item values of Page1 in Page2.

I have passed the values from page 2 to page 3. Due to Authentication on Page 3, the passed values are cleared and a new session created.
Is there a way to retain the item values using Application items or Application computations?

I have been using the "column break" where I really should have been using the "page break". The page break just makes more sense in my layout.

Need help with fitting text onto page

I'm working on a website where I have a template with an
editable region where I put all the main text for each page. I
originally had it set up for scroll bars so when the text inside
the cell of the editable region didn't fit, scroll bars would
appear (I used overflow in the CSS). Now the client tells me they
don't want scroll bars but want the text area to dynamically expand
vertically to fit whatever amount of text. The problem is, when I
try to put in a lot of text in the editable region, it breaks the
table and the nav bar on the side gets all messed up. How can I
have the text inside of a cell dynamically expand without affecting
the rest of the table?
Any help is greatly greatly appreciated, thanks in

Need help in writing a .jsp page

Hi Guys,
I am new to JSP. My requirement is " I have a link on my webpage. When the user clicks that link, a HTML page is displayed which has parameters to be entered (for ex: from_date , to_date). When the user clicks the submit button, a jsp page should be displayed in which a query is run to display the output. For example, the user enters the from_date and to_date parameter values to know the employees employed within those dates in their company. The query is "select empname,empno,sal,dept,comm from emp where employed_date between from_date and to_date" . The following should run and display in the jsp page.
How can i write a .jsp to extract the parameters that are entered in the HTML form in to a .jsp and run the query with those parameters to display the output. Help needed in making me write this .jsp for this query.

Hm, your requirements sound like homework assignment from classroom. If so, is itn't better that you find the answer youself? There are plenty of very relevant references for how to use jsp to handle html forms or talk to a rdbms through a jdbc connection. For example, for jsp and html forms, you can google "jsp html forms"; for jsp and sql query, search for "jsp jdbc".
Tell me if this is not helpful.

Need Help opening converted file in Pages

I have a Mac and use Pages as my word processor. Pages converts Word documents into its format so that they can be opened, read and edited. I have never been unable to open/use a document opened this way . . . till now. The downloaded document won't open in Pages. It says it is an "invalid format." I hope someone can help me. The purchase of the Adobe program is no value to me if I can't use it, and I need to be able to use documents in this way. Thanks in advance.

You can set up a link to behave as you want, ignoring whatever the user preference is set to, but I don't know if you can configure such a link in InDesign.
In Acrobat, you can edit the link action (assuming it's a "Go to a page view / Go to a page in another document" type) and select "New Window" in the "Open in" drop down:

Need help on customizing a login page in APEX 3.0

I am new to APEX 3.0 and I am trying to add another field to the standard login page. Basically, I would like to keep the username password field and add a PIN number and/or challenge question to the login 101 page. The user would enter a PIN # and/or response to a challenge question in addition to the username password and have it all processed to allow a login. In addition, if the user enters the correct PIN# and/or Challenge, I want to execute this code " EXECUTE IMMEDIATE DBMS_SESSION.SET_IDENTIFIER (':p101_client_id'). P_101_client_id being the item name I 've added to the login 101 page which should be initialized to the value entered as the PIN# Can anyone help me? Thanks!

With this in place, I can not see the data I need for a report I have created. Which is expected behavior. What I want to do is upon logon to my APEX application add a third box i.e. PIN#, in addition to the standard username password and have this pin number processed as the SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','CLIENT_IDENTIFIER')='Administrator') ('Administrator' being the correct "PIN"). If I go through SQL Plus and I have the correct login information mentioned in the above function, I can issue the dbms_session procedure initialized to 'Administrator' and gain access to the data. I do not want every database session to have acces to this data only the person(s) that meet the FGAC predicate. If not then you can not view this data. Other data can be visible. I am not sure how to implement this so my APEX interface can make use of my FGAC policy. Can you have a restriction on a particular page and/or page item that requests a "PIN" before you are allowed to view the page and/or item? I hope this provides more detail.

Need help with a simple php page link

I have a small .php to force the download of a file when a user clicks on a link:

I need to include code which will redirect the user back to the home page without opening a new browser window, either during or immediately after downloading the file. And if it's possible, prevent the browser back button to return the user to the download page.
I tried adding this after the readfile line: echo "<a href="mywebsite.com/index.html" /a>";
but that failed miserably. My php knowledge is as weak as a bull moose after the mating season. Can someone help me out on this?

If you couldn't tell whether it is AS2 or AS3, it is doubtful you can turn it from AS2 into AS3, at least not until you learn both languages. There is no tool made that does it for you.
