Need help unjailbreaking my iphone 3GS so I can update to iOS5

My BIL helped me jailbreak a few months ago so I could tether. I no longer need to tether, and I do need to update the iOS. I have tried updating, and keep getting error message 1394. I looked up the fix for that, and everyone says to download Tiny Umbrella. I did that (v5.01.00). But is that ok to use if I originally used redsnow to jailbreak? I'm worried I'm messing up my iphone, and won't be able to get my stuff back. Please assist. Thanks!

That's not a problem bro... all you need to do is to hold on your power bottom for 3 sec. (keep hold) after hold your home bottom for 7 sec. (with your power bottom). after 7 sec. release power bottom (only) and keep hold press your home bottom. then DFU mode... now you can update the latest software,,, keep watching youtube for more info.

I was travel to Asian when I charge my iphone with the USB Power Adapter about 10-20 mins and then when I check on how many percent on battery then I hear sound on the adapter. You either pay Apple to do it (usually you will get a replacement refurbished phone). Make sure to BACK IT UP first before taking it in. Plug into a computer that has the latest iTunes, do a sync and confirm the existence of the backup in iTunes / Preferences / Devices. If they give you a replacement, plug it back into the same computer and do a Restore to recover your stuff.

If the iPhone was hacked and unlocked via unofficial means, it has become locked again. Insert original SIM in the phone to activate with iTunes.

I have iphone3gs just upgraded to iOS5 just now.
So far i am not experiencing any slow down because of the new iOS.. Rather i feel like its slightly faster than the previous version (4.3.5)..
One of the first thing i want to try was the location based reminders.. After upgrade i coudn't find the option, and went trough the user manual to find out that it is not available for 3gs..:(

If you don't have access to a computer
If you are using Find My iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to restore your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode.
If you have previously synced your device with iTunes
You may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device.
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes", below.
Right-click the device in the left column and select Back up.
When the backup is complete, select Restore.
When finished, restore from your most recent backup.
If you have never synced your device with iTunes
Connecting the device may result in this error message: "iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.

I have a iPhone 3GS that I am about to upgrade to a iPhone 4S. I am still using version 4.0.1 since I am always skittish about changing anything. The most important things that I need saved are my Contacts, Calendars, and Notes. I upgraded to a newer PC and I don't think that I can sync all the same options as I could before. Trying to backup an iPhone 3gs so we can update the iOS. Old computer does not appear to back up contacts and notes (there are many). Is there a way to make sure they are backed up?

Also, everytime we sync, emails delete from the iPhone. We don't want them to. Is there a setting to prevent this from happening?

Contacts are not part of the backup. Those should be synced with a compatible address book on your computer. Notes can sync with a mail account.
No idea what you mean about emails deleting from the phone when you sync. E-mail messages are not synced with anything but the mail server. Only account information is synced.
