Need help updating acrobat pro X

I am trying to update my acrobat pro X at the adobe site: Adobe - Acrobat : For Macintosh : Adobe Acrobat 10.1.1 Pro update - All languages
I click on proceed to download<download now and follow the instructions to install.
A window opens and says "Please choose the copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro to update" so I click on adobe acrobat X Pro and I am not able to choose the .app. Everything is grayed out leaving no option for me to click.
What do I do?

Thank you, Sukritd15!!
It definitely worked! But the update didn't fix the problem I have. As you can see from the screenshot below when I click on the arrow of the menu items (pages, content, etc.) the down arrow doesn't show the items underneath. Any suggestions?

  • Need Help: Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Slow Performance on MacPro

We installed Adobe Acrobat pro as part of Design premium on MACPRO twelve Core 2.93 with 10GB Memory and 27inch Display running OS 10.8.4
We opened high resolution pdf file 170MB with 330pages with 300% Zoom, when we scrolled trough the pages, the respond is very slow and sluggish. We Zoom in to 100%, scrolling still sluggish.
We try to reseat the memory, repair permission,  reset PRAM and the problem still the same.
    Can you help me?

In all truth 170mb is pretty big for a PDF. Even with a rockin' setup like that, it's about the equivalent of 30 copies of Atlas Shrugged (891 pages). Being high res, and that size, it's not a "quick" file. My mini has 4Gb and a Core i5, I'm pretty sure it would drag on it.

Just in case, please don't post the S/N. If you have CC, I think that had to be uninstalled through the CC interface.

  • Trying to update Acrobat Pro

I received a notice that I needed to update Acrobat Pro (my OS is Windows XP Professional) and tried updating and the install got hung up.  I tried killing all the apps to clear it out, but still get a message that an install is already running when I try to update Acrobat Pro, but I can't find any other apps that are running the install.  Can someone assist me?  I even tried going into the Control Panel to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat, but got hte same error message that an install was running.

    Terminate the processes:

Run the Acrobat Cleaner Tool and reinstall from scratch.

What version of OS X? Some people have luck by clearing their caches. This can be done with Applejack in 10.5. Onyx will work in SL.

Need help reinstalling Acrobat X pro for MAC. Got one site but I-tunes didn't recognize so couldn't go further. I have serial

Actually, you can and have downloaded from there, because that message only happens when the download is finished.
The message is entirely normal, and is Apple's way of encouraging the world to use the Mac App Store. That doesn't help you because Acrobat isn't in the Mac App Store - it isn't allowed there.
So, what to do? Change your system settings
Please follow the steps given below to resolve this issue -

  • Adobe Updater wants to update Acrobat Pro X 10.1.1 to 10.1.1 every day!

For the past several weeks, dily (and somtime more than once per day) the Adobe Updater says that it wants to update Acrobat Pro X to version 10.1.1. But that's the version that's installed. I keep cancelling it but it's an annoyance that pops up every day and downloads the update (or seems to) every day.
Can you help me make it stop?
I've tried letting it do the update from 10.1.1 to 10.1.1 but it gets partially through the process, says that Acrobat has already been updated, and rolls back the changes it made. Yet tomorrow it tells me the same thing.
    Help! Please.
    Thanks.

    Good day TechByter,
Unfortunately it looks like you'll probably need to uninstall Acrobat and reinstall from scratch if you're getting an Error 1328 when trying to patch Acrobat: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-errors-acrobat-reader-windows.html
    Kind regards,

  • Cannot update Acrobat Pro to 9.3.2 from 9.3.1

I am attempting to update Acrobat Pro to 9.3.2 from 9.3.1. Downloading the update, I am met with this:
The patch has failed because the application has been modified since it was originally installed (for example, plug-ins may have been disabled).
Please go to the Adobe support website for more information regarding how to re-enable disabled components prior to installing the patch.  Or, you can uninstall and reinstall the application, and then reinstall the patch.
Where do I find this "information" on the Adobe website? If Vague is an island, Abobe must be on it.
    Any solutions others have found?
Uninstall and reinstall is a solution? Been down this road 16 months ago and it was a full afternoon on the phone with tech support in India. If this is the only solution offered, I am fine at the current crap unsafe version from Adobe. Unless of course Adobe is prepared to pay me for my time.

I am a sys admin and have always had problems with Acrobat for many many year. I have spent 3 hours on the phone with tech support. Pushed out a new build with nothing else on except the base OS and still fails in the update and tried everything and yes im not a standard user, this is my job i build macs day in day out in 30 minutes flat, scripting, packaging the lot.
You can see in the log it tries to download an update with an incorrect url http:/ when it should be http:// this is really terrible and just shows there is no UAT at all. Yesterday another tech support just told me for another full suite that just dragging the apps to the Trash is a normal uninstall method. The tech support guy today told me Acrobat comes with all CS5 product  but thats incorrect because it doesn't come with Production Premium!
Adobe i believe your Acrobat team is separate from other teams and i understand why you have had to break it off from the suite but  come on this has been going on for so many years now its beyond a joke. You should fix it once and for all or at least get version x working with combined updaters like other vendor and offer free upgrades from 9 to 10.
What is the point going on about all these extra features and security fixes if no one can even update the product! Spend hours on the phone with untrained staff with poor product knowledge and waste every ones time because i am a very experienced sys admin and get sick to death of Acrobat updates which rarely ever work!
Also the system requirements for the update only goes to OS 10.6.3 and even the latest 9.4.1 only goes to OS 10.6.4 So even if every one can some how get i working its not even going to work on a 10.6.5 OS... pathetic so stuck no one listening, tech support don't listen. We just need an alternative good competitor then i am not buying or dealing with Adobe ever again!

  • Cannot update Acrobat Pro

    Hi,
When I try to update Acrobat Pro to the newest minor version (9.3.3), I cannot complete the operation due to a dialog box that appears in the background, and cannot be moved to the foreground. To complete the operation I should click a button in this dialog box, but it is impossible and I must force-quit the updater.
This bug was already in the previous version of Acrobat, and despite I and others reported it, it is still there. Maybe someone knows how to solve the problem without waiting for a fix?
    Paolo
As you see, the lower dialog box stays in the background (and cannot be moved forward).

I'm having a similar problem.  I did check in Adobe support and could find nothing related to my issue.  In Fact, several support search responses directed me to this forum.
When I try to update, at some point in the repair I get a dialogue box that is titled "Repair Setup."  It just sits there, won't go away won't let me check or uncheck anything in the box or move it.  From this discussion I got the suggestion and tried running the repair command under the help menu.  This at least lets me check of uncheck the checkbox and click cancel or continue.  This box asks whether I want or don't want the Acrobat plug-in in Safari.  I definitely don't want it there.  When I uncheck the box it says it has removed it, but the dialogue box stays in place in the center of my screen until I reboot the computer.  If I re-run repair Acrobat, it once again lets me check or uncheck and tell it to cancel or continue.  So, I tried telling it it could install the plug-in.  It then told me I had to quit Safari.  So, I quit Safari and tried again, but it keeps telling me I have to quit Safari even though I have already quit Safari.
This is hugely frustrating.  It makes me want to make sure I never try to upgrade Acrobat again.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    --Kenoli
