Need Help Upgrading OATS Ver:8.01.0249 to OATS Ver:8.50.0260

I'm currently having troubles upgrading Oracle Application Testing Suite from version 8.01.0249 to version 8.50.0260. The database for OATS is SQL Server 2000. I've unistalled the application ver 8.01.0249 completely. Followed by installing the applications ver 8.50.0260. I've configured ver 8.50.0260 to point to the existing SQL Server 2000 OATS database so that it can upgrade it to the latest version. When I run the OATS test suite administrator login to upgrade the SQL database, I get the following error message "The e-Manager Enterprise database could not be updated. Please make sure that the user has Administrator rights for the database and that the password entered is correct." The old application version 8.01.0249 connects fine with those credentials. Please see logs info below.
The JBossService logs show the following results:

OATS product's Databases are designed to upgrade successfully from 2 to 3 releases up. Being that you are trying to upgrade a database that belongs to a version five releases earlier, you will have to raise a Service request on metalink and be prepared to send the database to Support.

I need help,,upgraded to ipad2, my HP laptop had major issues and had to be restored b4 I could back up and save any content on the hard disc. So i havent backed up my iPad2 or saved my iTunes library.
How do I back up and sync my ipad2 without losing content on my iPad.???
I need really simple instructions as I've had a bad run with my laptop the last month.
I have re-installed iTunes,it currently has no content in it
all my music, photos etc had been saved to a an external Hardrive (phew)so I'm not concerned about losing them during a sync, but how do I sync my Ipad without losing the applications... The last back up saved was in June when I still had an ipad1
I tried to back it up last night but kept getting the prompts something to the effect of "iPad can only be synced to 1 iTunes library, syncing will erase all content and replace with content on this iTunes library".
Help please,, I've already lost endless hours fixing my PC issues,so I'm not game to attempt this issue without guarantee I won't lose everything, need a simple solution that anyone can follow as my brain has information overload!!! Lol
    Thanks

This should help you out. I copied this from another discussion a while back. Here is the original discussion link.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/11527071#11527071
This is what is in the discussion. It really doesn't get any easier than this.
    1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
    2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
    3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
    4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
    5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
    6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

  • Need help upgrading from iPhoto 2... keep photo comments?

I currently have iPhoto 2 that originally came with my eMac. I have recently upgraded the operating system to the 10.4.11. I have tons of photos in iPhoto 2. Ultimately, this has slowed down the response time when working in iPhoto.
I am trying to figure out how the comments that I write for each photo stays with the photo after I back it up to my external hard drive, iBook? Or, how can I keep the comments to the photo when I email the photos?
After doing some research, it looks like I need to upgrade to a current iPhoto to be able to do this. Is this correct? Will a current iPhoto version keep the comments with that photo when saved or sent elsewhere? What is the best way to upgrade and how do I go about doing this?
Is there anyway to backup the photos on disc with the comments included? Or, can the comments be printed out to a thumbnail size of each photo for record keeping?
I hope you can HELP with this "photo comments" dilemma... Thanks.

Did you try repairing permissions yet? Just because you have a fresh install of Mac OS X doesn't mean everything is as it should be. And you may not know that the mail format changed from 10.4 to 10.5, so you should try rebuilding your Mail index like this:
    1. Quit Mail if it's running.
    2. Go to ~/Library/Mail and delete the Envelope Index file(s).
    3. Restart Mail, wait for it to import your existing messages, then check to see if you have access to your older mail from 10.4.

  • Need Help Upgrading Old Mac

I have a macbook pro 15.4 Inch purchased in 2007 *The first intel based mac i believe- But im having trouble upgrading- I tried to upgrade to Snow leopard 10.6.8 (im on 10.5.4) now and i need to upgrade desperatley to run programs i use, The body of the computer (keyboard is shot so i use an external keyboard) when i downloaded different DMGS of snowleopard-i cant get any of them to work and do a DMG instal as you normal would. I tried my original (INSTALL Disks that the my computer came with to an archive install- but the drive kicks the dvds out once i hit option - to try to boot the disk when the computer starts up (the computer's body is ****** but it works ok- it has to be plugged in all the time) but i dont know how i can update my system i  even tried snow leopard 911 - but even when i put it on a 4GB hard drive and tried to boot from my little thumb drive (by pushing C on start up) it just started up regularly. I was gonna take smewhere to have an archive install but it would cost me 120.00 per the visit (since this computer isnt worth much and i just need it to be able to run until i get a new one in 2013) - Ive done everything tested the PRAM , done a "C" and even option boots it to EFI mode, which i dont want ive downloaded mutliple DMGS of snow leopard and they dont work , i just want to upgrade!! - Can you help!! if you have ANY solutions
    <Email Edited By Host>

I'm not sure where you're getting dmg files of Snow Leopard - it was only ever released on disc. You can order it directly from the Apple Store on disc here - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard. If your optical drive isn't working, you'll just have to get a fairly inexpensive external optical drive to install the upgrade.
It really sounds as if your machine is shot. I had a 2006 model (which was actually the first Intel MBP) and it's still working. But I took care of it. Sounds as if you've been a little rough on yours.
I'm not certain that the SL update is going to do you any good - but it's worth a try, I guess.

  • Need help upgrading software on imac mid 2010, running OS X 10.6.8

I need to upgrade my software from OS X 10.6.8 but not sure where to begin.  Do I have to purchase lion, mountain lion, leopard, snow leopard to get to maverick???

    1. Yes, it is.
    2. You can either use Time Machine or a product such as the Disk Utility, Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper to create a bootable clone. Create the backup on an external drive in case the internal one fails.

The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
    Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
Snow Leopard Tech Specs  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard and iTunes.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading...

  • Need help upgrading my operating system

I need to upgrade my existing operating system which is 10.4.11 to 10.5 so I can down load Pages. How do I go about doing that?

The version of Pages available for download is in the Mac App Store. You need OS X 10.6.8 for the Mac App Store and additionally you need OS X 10.7.5 to run Pages. What you wish to do may not be possible with your old Mac.

  • I need help upgrading iTunes... nothing is working right

I bought some songs on the store this weekend. Some of them downloaded but then I got error messages on the rest saying I needed to install the upgrade before they would download. So I tried upgrading several different ways (each of which took forever) but all of them would finish downloading and then not install. Can anyone help me?

I am also having problems with the new Itunes upgrade, i have lost the icon and the only way to access Itunes is by plugging my Ipod in. If I click on the old icon from before the upgrade it says "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." So i installed it again and still cant access Itunes. If anyone can tell me what is going on, that would be splendid.

  • Need Help Upgrading

I am trying to upgrade to Yosemite and every time I try to download after I type in my password it says there was an error in the app store. It has been doing this for months.
    I get two messages:
    1. There was an unknown error
    2. We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (4)
    Please Help!!

Be sure to double check your computer's hardware specifications to be certain
it will have adequate resources to run both a new 10.10 OS X, and applications.
This includes checking or making a survey of the capacity of the hard disk drive
and the stored content there; this may compete with a new system and some of
the software from Lion 10.7 or before will not run in Yosemite. Also, be sure there
is an adequate amount of RAM installed, the chip memory helps Yosemite work.
If the hard disk drive has been in service and not replaced, consider an upgrade
to a faster spin-rate 7200-RPM hard disk drive of larger capacity, as this may help
the computer. At least a new replacement HDD shouldn't be worn out and the faster
speed of rotational 7200-RPM compared to stock 5400-RPM will help Yosemite.
There are methods of preparing a replacement drive before installing it, to be sure
it is correctly formatted and ready for a new system. You'd probably need to have
10.6.8 installed and running, if you had that as a base system with DVD installer.
Some may choose to create a clone, but going from 10.7.5 to 10.10 is best if not
carrying a lot of baggage from older systems or software that won't work.  So a
clone of the current system on external HDD is good if you don't have a way to
revert if you needed to, as you can run the computer from a clone on external HDD.
However, not knowing your level of skill or ability in this matter, you may seek the
trained help of an authorized Apple service provider; and acquire additional backup
hardware for Time Machine and other off-computer archival storage.
You may need to try & boot from recovery, if that is present on the current HDD.
Appears you may have a bad hard drive or a partial installation of 10.10; or a
different problem. You hadn't posted the above when I started this...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Need help upgrading BIOS - K8N Neo Plat

    HELP!!!
I have bios 1.1 on my K8N Neo Plat.  I have been trying all morning to upgrade my bios to 1.3, but have been unsucessful so far.  Note that I do NOT have any fancy MSI programs installed (I don't like bloat).
Sooooo, I donloaded bios 1.3 from the MSI website.  This is a little zip file.  Then, I tried the following....
    1) Install from an XP boot floppy. -- Flashing the bios appeared to work, but upon reboot, ver 1.1 was still there.
    2) Install from Win98SE boot floppy. -- Same story.  Flash appeared to work, but 1.1 was still present.
For both type of boot floppies, the flash program says that it is currently re-programming the bios, and it exits normally, without any errors.  The filename that I was loading a file called "W7030NMS.130".
    3) Just for giggles, I downloaded bios ver 1.1, and use the "FC" command to be certain that they were different.
    4) I checked my BIOS screens for any hint of BIOS protection, but could not find any.
    5) The readme file that came with the ver 1.3 said to work from the hard drive, but boot floppies do not seem to like NTFS.  So I simply cannot do it this way unless I re-partition and re-format.
    Any ideas???

Try making a boot floppy with this.
Thats Dr DOS Disk For Bios Flashing from http://www.bootdisk.com
It's pure DOS, and will work with any OS.

  • Need Help, Upgrade or Not? Do I just WANT or really NEED a new Macbook Pro?

Good day everyone, I love these forums, so much valuable input and information from you all.
My question is, *should I upgrade* to a new 13" early 2011 Macbook Pro, from my present computer, an early 2008 white Macbook 4.1 with 4gig RAM, 180g SSD Vertex 2, new battery, and with Applecare till Oct-2011.
My questions are whether *spending almost $1,800 cdn* for a new 13" Macbook Pro, + Applecare, + 8gig ram, + various display adapters, and hopefully keep my sata II OCZ 180g Vertex2 SSD are going to be worth the upgrade? I could sell my older Macbook 4.1 for @ $700 cdn, so the difference is @ $1,100.
*The male ego* in me has a NEED for SPEED...but my realistic rational side says ...$1,100 buys lots of other things...
My present Macbook does what I need, *but is limited* because of the SATA 1.5 bus, however I love my new 180g Vertex2 SSD. It gave my older Macbook a new speed boost. Unfortunately I went to see the new Macbook Pro's and fell in love... Do I NEED, or do I WANT????
The *new Macbook Pro's specs and features* are very appealing, as I love the aluminum body, the SATA III bus, the future potential of Thunderbolt (5 gig Super Duper CCC clones...), and the 5,900 Geekbench scores, my current machine is 2,900 Geekbench (imagine with a sata-II Vertex SSD...) My current xBench specs are below:
*My present computer usage* consists of a 24" external monitor, three external HD (Super Duper, CCC, T/M) and I always have running at the same time programs like Mail, Safari (12 tabs open), VM Parallels Desktop running XP SP3, iPhoto, iTunes, aMSN, iCal, Youtube, VNC, Skype, HTML software, Time Machine, basic photo editing, etc...
*My present setup* works fine, and naturally I read the forums about the new Macbook Pro's, and there appears to be lots of issues, heating, monitor, fans, noise, wifi, etc..... hmmmmm... maybe I should wait for the next incremental Macbook Pro upgrade?
*Decisions, Decisions... :)* Keep what I have, or spend $1,800 and than sell my old Macbook...?
Thanks for reading my long post, and looking forward to *any of your thoughts,* IAN...

  • Need Help Upgrading Acrobat 8.0 to 8.1.2 on MAC

I am trying to upgrade Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0 to 8.1.2, but I'm having some trouble. I downloaded the Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro Patch Updater. When I open the icon, a window opens up that reads:
"Acrobat 8 Pro Patch" is an application which was downloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it?
When I click on 'open,' another window opens that prompts me to choose the copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional to update. When I choose the 'Adobe Acrobat Professional' folder to open, all of the contents in the folder (which includes the Acrobat Professional 8.0 that I want to upgrade) is faded so that I can't select it.
Am I doing something wrong? What do I do to update??
Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.

    You need the 8.0 -> 8.1 patch and then 8.1.1 and then 8.1.2 ..

  • Need help upgrading a B/W G3

I haven't done a thing to upgrade my computer since I bought it in 1999. It is a 350mhz blue and white G3 with 192 mb RAM, 6 GB hard drive and Mac OS 8.6. I can't afford to buy a new computer yet and would like to get a little more mileage from this one. I'm pretty sure I could safely upgrade to 9.2, but I don't know if I should venture into OS X (or what version I should stop at if I do).
I'm considering buying more RAM, an external hard drive for more storage and Mac OS 9.2.
I would like to upgrade so I can use Adobe Type Manager to organize my fonts, Photoshop 7. I have both, but have not installed them as I believe they need at least OS 9. I also would like to have a newer internet browser, like safari, but I think I have to be at OS X to use that. More and more web sites I encounter are not fully supporting Internet Explorer or older versions of Flash, Shockwave etc and I have trouble accessing their websites.
Here is what I have attached to the system:
    • Yamaha CD/RW drive (SCSI 2)
    • Epson Expression 636 Scanner (SCSI 1 daisy chained to the CD burner)
    • Epson Sylus Color 900G printer (USB)
    • Iomega external zip 100 drive (USB)
    • 4 port USB Hub
    • Keyboard and mouse that came with system (USB)
As for software, I use Adobe's Pagemaker 7, Illustrator 8 and Photoshop 5, Internet Explorer 5.1.
Has anyone upgraded their systems to OS X with any of these devices? If so what problems did you encounter? Any advice would be appreciated.
Power Mac G3 350 Mhz   Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier   192 Mb Ram
Power Mac G3 350 Mhz   Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier   192 Mb Ram

What's the production date printed on the back of your B&W? Your G3 may have the first revision motherboard that doesn't support large capacity internal hard drives connected to the onboard IDE controller. Larger/faster IDE/EIDE hard drives will require an ATA controller card. You'd be able to get a 120 GB drive and a controller card for less than $120. As for running a newer OS - like OS X (Panther or Tiger), you'll need to have more memory (at least 384-512 MBs). A 256 MB PC-100 memory DIMM costs about $25, so you'd need to add at least one to your existing 192 MBs of memory. The retail cost of Tiger (10.4.x) is $129, but you can undoubtedly find it online for less, and the previous OS X "Panther" (10.3.x) can be purchased for about ½ of Tiger's current price. An upgrade to the OEM ATI Rage 128 PCI graphics card would also be desirable, but by the time that you add the individual costs of these upgrades, you will have spent more than the cost of a newer, used Mac (like a Quicksilver G4). With its improved hardware design, the Quicksilver series would be noticeably faster than the B&W, and can run OS X and OS 9.2.2 for your older programs. You could transfer your SCSI PCI card to the G4 for continued use of your SCSI peripherals under OS 9.2.2. Support for your specific SCSI peripherals may or may not be a problem under OS X.
At some point, you must decide when a computer is past the point of beginning to invest in hardware upgrades for it, given its market value. Had you been upgrading it through the years, then it would be harder to resist the urge to tweak it some more. If you have yet to spend money on upgrading, it's sometimes better to consider looking for something that's more hardware-forward. There are many hardware upgrades available for a B&W, such as a faster G3 or G4 processor, larger hard drive, DVD±RW optical drive, better graphics card, PCI controller cards, etc. Unfortunately, there are also inherent design limitations, like the system bus speed or lack of an AGP bus for improved graphics, that can't be changed or added. As the owner of two B&W G3s, I wouldn't recommend spending too much to modernize one, as we approach 2007. As to how much is too much, consider that 7 year-old B&Ws like your 350 MHz model now sell for under $100 at eBay.
