Need help: When installing iTunes on Windows 7, installer is stopping at "Installing Apple Application Support". Can anyone help....this is the first time I am using an Apple product and it sure is not very user friendly!!!

I am trying to install itunes but the installer is not going beyond the "Installing Apple application support" stage,

I had the trouble that if an old #4 or #5 was installed, a full iTunes install did not work.

The delete key does a backward delete because it is the natural way to delete while typing. May not be to you and the millions of youngsters who grew up with windows computers. When you are typing and want to delete that which you just typed you are already at the end and you delete back to where you want to re-type. When you go back to a document and want to delete a selection, you have to go to the end of the selection instead of the beginning. it's just the way its always been done on macs. it takes some getting use to.
If you select text to be deleted with your mouse then the delete key deletes the selected text. same for either delete key method.
It is not convenient when you tab to fields in a form. That why fn-delete does a forward delete.
Macs have a couple of keyboards. The small "wireless keyboard" only has the (backward) delete (fn-delete forward). The larger "Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad" has both a Delete (backwards) key beside the = abd it has the "delete >" key in the groups with fn, home, end, Pg up and Pg dn. This keyboard is best for users who have switched from windows or are familiar with the windows forward delete.

Open the General section of Safari's preferences and check where Safari is trying to download files to; if this folder doesn't exist or is in a folder used by the system itself, change it to a location inside your home folder, such as the desktop, or another folder you can write to, such as /Users/Shared/. If the download folder is set to one of these locations and you get that error message, click on that folder in the Finder and then choose Get Info from the File menu. Under Ownership & Permissions, verify that you have read and write access to this folder and that the folder isn't locked, changing the settings as necessary.

Iphoto is a different paradigm than you're used to. I don't understand why you are trying to transfer your edited photos back to an external disk.

Help!! Itunes won't let me downgrade on my 2g ipod touch. Can anyone help?

I just got a macally microphone for the ipod touch and I found out that it's not compatible with the 3.1.3 firmware. So I have to downgrade to the 3.0 Firmware in order for the mic to work. But that's the problem, it won't let me downgrade at all! I tried holding in shift, then pressing restore. That didn't work. Every time I try to downgrade it says "The ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (20)" Does anyone know how to fix this?

If you actually have the 3.0 FW on your computer, you may be able to downgrade by first putting your Touch into "DFU Mode", then use the Shift-Restore technique to select the 3.0 OS file. I won't go into the DFU Mode instructions here, plenty of explanations around here and the web in general. Note that this is not a practice supported by Apple.

Sorry I misinterpreted what it was that you want to do. The following gives the current password requirements: Security and your Apple ID - Apple Support
There isn't any way to have a 6 digit numerical password -- as you already found. With the amount of password hacking going on currently, I suspect that if you were able to change it back you would be putting your account at a significant risk. Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software can also cause these errors.

Thanks Kurt! I had tried all that and had tried closing both programmes from the application monitor, but SyncServices Agent refused to close. I tried closing Launchd which is their mother application, but that just caused the screen go go blank. In the end the two programmes let themselves be closed next time I tried the installation process so all was well. Thanks for your help!

The built-in apps on the iPad can only be updated via iOS updates, so if your iPad mini is on iOS 6.0.2 then its up-to-date
