Need Help With ATV3/Mac air

Ok guys I'm stumped. I've spent about 2 days now digging into the issues I am having with no luck. Currently I have iTunes on a windows home server box along with all my media. Everything was working fine for a bit then things started to slow down then stop. Now with my MacBook I can write files to my server but not copy files from it, I think this may be the cause of all my problems.
Sense this has started I have not been able to load any movies from iTunes through my ATV 3, the library will load but one I choose a movie it just compley stops just like it would transferring a file from the server. I can transfer files to and from the server with anoth box running windows 7 so I'm thinking it may be an issue with smb or something like that. I am not sure what ATV actually uses to connect back to iTunes so I'm not sure if these issues are actually related or not. Below Is a list of everything running on my network.

I hAve a solid understanding of systems and networking but I am stumped on this. I was originally going along the lines of corrupted NTFS security on my hard drives but I ruled that out by completly redoing it. I also read that it could be bonjure so I repaired that with no luck. Any ideas would be very helpful.

It is extremely important you realise.. the Time Capsule was never designed for this.
It is a backup target for Time Machine.. that is the software on the computer that does backups.. it has no direct connection to the Time Capsule.
It has no ability to back itself up.. unlike all other NAS in the market. It is therefore likely one day you will lose all your files unless you seriously work out how to backup.
The TC is slow to spin up the hard disk and fast to spin down. iTunes and iPhoto will continually lose connection to their respective libraries.
iPhoto in particular is easy to corrupt when you move photos over wireless into the library.. once corrupted all is corrupt. A single photo will ruin it all.. so backup is utterly essential.
Time Machine cannot do backups of network drives. ie the TC. You will need a different backup software like CCC. You will then need another target to backup to..

Can Somebody Help me Please!!

I'll try. do a command F and run disk utility.Verify Permissions. quit. go to desktop, the one with the Apple in the corner of the screen. go to view, under view, try view options. settings might be found under the Apple in system preferences.
try doing a screenshot of your problem (command+shift+3) or Command+shift+4
and post it here so that we can help you a little better. Your user account might be not working well. you might have to log in as admin and fix that(preferences-accounts) I'd suggest doing an archive and install from your original install dvd's. you might want to make sure that read/write are setup okay

Need help with new MAC computer and Touch

I had to wipe my drive clean and reinstall MAC OS X and iTunes yesterday.
My Touch has the latest firmware and the App Pack.
However iTunes is now blank.
How do I configure iTunes so that I can resync my Touch without losing either the firmware upgrade or the App Pack? BTW I have a backup of just the iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa file
Also, can my Contacts and Calendar info on the Touch be imported back into the applications on the MAC? Or will I have to rebuild them?

The reason I had to wipe the drive and reinstall OSX was that when I turned on my MacBook Pro it stuck on the opening gray screen (with the gray Apple logo). The spinning start up icon just kept spinning. I tried the usual start up fixes - nothing worked. Since the computer is used for work I contacted our MAC IT guy and he suggested to start it up from the original software install disc that came with the MAC and use the Utilities on that disk to repair the hard drive. I did that, ran the utility to repair the disk. Unfortunately, the utility very quickly encountered an error and said that the disk could not be repaired. My IT guy said that the likely cause was a bad sector on the drive and that I should erase the drive using the utility using the option of overwriting with zeros since, according to him this process would end up with a reformatted drive with the bad sectors no longer available. Unfortunately that also meant that I'd lose everything on the drive. Fortunately I'm fairly up-to-date with my back ups. I've owned MACs since February 1984 and this is the first time I've encountered a problem like this.
It's taken about about 12 hours to get everything back and working again. The only concern is with my iPoT since this is a blank iTunes. I have all my music backed up so I can recreate my playlists. However, my MACs iCal and Address book are empty and I don't want the ones on my iPoT to be blanked out when I sync it. And I'd rather not lose the iPoT apps which I just bought in January. Although if that happens I guess I'll just have to purchase the apps again

I need help with my mac mail account password!

okay. so i came home one day after work, and i went to check my mail. there is a squiggly line next to my inbox. i tried to send a message, and a box popped up asking for my account password. now i only use two passwords - one is a word with numbers, and the other is just a word. i entered both, and was told they were incorrect. i'm stumped. am i going to have to start a new account? is there a way to change the password and still get my mail? would someone please help me out? thanks in advance to anyone who does.

Well, then maybe Mail is corrupted, so let's try to fix that. You'll need:
1. your Mac OS X installation disc.
2. a copy of Pacifist.
3. confidence and patience.
First, quit Mail, go to Users/your username/Library/ and copy the Mail folder to your Desktop; then download Pacifist using the link above.
Next, insert your Mac OS X installation disc, open it with Pacifist and browse the contents of the Optional Installs folder until you find the installer package for Mail, then open that Mail package.
Select the top-level of that package in the Pacifist file listing and click on the Extract button in Pacifist and choose your Desktop for the destination. When that is finished, move the newly extracted copy of Mail to your HD/Applications folder. Choose "Replace" when it tells you there's already a newer or older file there with the same name.
Quit Pacifist, open System Preferences and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions; then quit System Preferences, logout and log back in, then try starting Mail and see if that resolves your problem.

Need help with new Mac Pro (2012)

Hi for everyone!
Few days ago, I bought a new Mac Pro (Mid 2012) MD770LL/A for my recording studio. The workstation is really powerfull and silent, but it has one major problem for me: computer comes with pre-installed Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion, and as I understand, I can't install Mac OS X 10.6.8 on this machine. In this case, some plug-ins and instruments, that critical for my works are unavailable for me now. For example - MusicLab RealGuitar and RealLPC thru the VST to RTAS adapter (I'm using Pro Tools in my studio) don't working correctly on a Lion OSX. Unfortunately, I can't find any solution, to fix it... Even on an official support website of that software developers. Secondary, I still need Rosetta for some applications.
In that situation, my studio can't fully work.
So, what I should do??? WHY is officialy impossible to install Mac OS X 10.6.8 on a new Mac Pro, if its components is absolutely identic with Mac Pro 2010, that supported Mac OS X Snow Leo???

Good news for anyone, who wants to install Mac OS X 10.6.x on a Mac Pro 2012!!!
As it turned out, the original installation DVD disc from the Mac Pro 2010, fully compatible with Mac Pro 2012! The images of DVD is quite possible to find on the Internet. Just checked on my system - boot from the fresh-burned disc, and Mac OS X 10.6.4 installed without problems! After that, updated to 10.6.8 - and it works!

HELP! I need help with my Mac Mini G4

I have Mac Mini, and it ha OSX 10.5.6 installed. The x,-,+ signs are the colors they should be, but they dont show what they are when I mouse over them.. I have no idea how to fix this, cause I just got the computer. ALSO, it didnt come with any restore media, and the HD is a 40gb and there is 13gb free. I looked for Pics and documents, and there are none.. What else can it be??

If the computer is second hand, some sort of UI modifications could have been made which disabled or changed the behavior of the window control buttons.
To help make some drive space, you might need to clear out some caches on the system. The application OnyX can help you with tasks like that and many others (possibly including fixing your window button behavior). To clean a bit more space, I suggest using Monolingual to remove languages you don't need, and you can also remove processor architectures you don't need - but be sure which architecture you have before you use that function.

From one to another day it wasn't possible to watch videos from certain TV channels in my browser (Firefox, but I think it doesn't matter).
I have Mac OSX 10.5.8 and don't know how I can use Flashplayer 11.7. Do I have to upgrade to Mac OSX 10.6? Does it really work then?
Or is the technical progress so fast, that if I upgrade to 10.6, they invent a new Flashplayer and I can't use it anymore? Do I have to upgrade maybe even to Mac OSX 10.7 and then OSX 10.8? I am confused...
It is really unfair, that a 5 year old laptop is too old to use normal equipement!
Can someone help me and tell me if my assumption is right?

I really need help with my Mac SE

Hey guys I recently got a MacBook and really love it. It looks like I will be part of the Macintosh family for many years. However, before I got my MacBook and I was still using a PC, I found an old Macintosh SE on eBay. I have had it since January or February and it works fine, But it didn't come with a mouse or keyboard (which I already have) and it didn't come with any floppies (OS, games) but I was able to get those from a friend of mine who is one of the hosts of the RetroMacCast. (It's one of the best Mac-related podcasts! Subscribe to it on iTunes, Podcasts are free, as most people know) He was able to send me 8 floppy disks. 4 of which are Mac OS 6.0.8 and the other 4 are games I think. But I forget how to install the OS to restore my system. I own the official Macintosh SE Owners Guide by Apple, that doesn't tell you how to restore your system. Remember, I am a fairly new Mac person, and I am not the original owner of the SE. So if anybody could post a detailed step by step instructions on how to restore my Macintosh SE, that would be of great help to me. Thanks, Please Reply!

Thank you both for your answers.
"Curiosity killed the cat", but in this case, it helped a little.
I removed the HD, connected an extension power cable and a long SCSI cable and "accidentaly" I rotated the "actuator" lever, thinking that probably that was what I was being suggested by "spining the disc".
To my surprise, when I turned the SE on, the HS started to spin and I was able to see on the screen.
Nevertheless, when I shut the SE down properlu, from the Special menu, it won't start again, but if I simply shut it down from the switch, it starts again like a charm. For that, I have to move the actuator lever to a certain possition manually.
Is there a specific setting for that lever? Appears to be a magnetic actuartor.
The HD has some stuff in it, like the system and other documents that leaves a little over 16 k free.
Any more suggestions. So far, the SE is working.

Bold 9700 not starting up after email setup update 6.11. Need help with a mac!!!

I installed the official os 6 on my blackberry released by O2 over a month back. Yesterday, I was not able to configure any emails without downloaed the new version of the email setup 6.11. After the install, I was needed to reboot the phone. However, since then the phone is not switching on. That initial page comes with the Blackberry logo and that status bar (which shows completed) but never leaves that page!!
Someone please please help!!!!

I got mine to work by reinstalling OS 6 via the Blackberry Desktop software, but because I restored my backup as well as my old settings for email, my emails are still coming through provided I don't change my passwords as I can't get into settings without being asked to update as well. It means I won't be able to get my exchange emails as we always have to change/verify passwords periodically. The weirdest thing is that I no longer have maps and password keeper....

Need help with mirroring iPad Air in classroom

Not sure in the right community, so excuse me and redirect if needed.
I recently got an iPad Air and the lightning VGA adapter to connect my iPad to the projection system in my classroom. It will project the iPad screen on my computer monitor, but will not project onto the large screen through my projector. I was able to do this with my iPad 2 and the 30 pin VGA adapter, which would mirror onto both the computer screen and the big screen using my VGA splitter box. I use my iPad all the time to show students info from apps. Any ideas?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Need help with my mac hard drive?

I'm running MacDrive Standard to view my Mac-enabled hard drive on my pc laptop. Worked fine for a year now. Suddenly, Word documents start becoming inaccessible, saying there's something wrong with them, my movies and TV shows on the hard drive lag, as well as viewing photos on it. Today, I take a look at it and Windows says "The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable." This prompts MacDrive Disk Repair to ask to check the volume, which it does, only to tell me no errors were found. What do I do? I've got 300 gigs of information (on a 750 Western Digital My Passport hard drive). Any suggestions would be appreciated, because I'm desperate.

I used to use MacDrive from MediaFour. I think I used versions 7 & 8 mostly. I even had 5 or 6 licenses for it so I could use my HFS+ formatted drives on my many PCs. Before I stopped using my PCs I had switched to using the Paragon HFS+ driver for Windows as it did behave a little better under Windows 7 for me.
Now, on to the real issue, your dirve is reporting corruption, but when you run the MacDrive repair option is says there is nothing wrong. Have you tried connecting the drive to your Mac and letting MacOS run a valume check and repair on it? I would think that it is quite possible for MacDrive to not find all the problems that MacOS could find and fix.
