Need help with iphone 3gs

once i fully charge & then unplug my iphone after about 10 minutes of use it just turns off! so i plug it back in & once it turns back on it still shows that the battery has charge to it. so i'm wondering if anyone has had similar problems & can maybe give me some advice? i'm 23 & behind the times apparently! i'm not too experienced with these things as my best friend just gave this one to me as a gift. i'm hoping it just needs a new battery. any ideas or siggestions? thanks for your time!!

When I got my iPhone I made a folder up in MUSIC/iTunes called MY IPHONE, I then loaded up iTunes and held the SHIFT key down and created a library and chose to store it in the folder called MY IPHONE, now anything I add or alter in iTunes does not alter in anyway on my girlfriends iPod.

Help with iPhone 3GS (not restoring, seems to be in loop)

Good morning!
My phone has not warranty and before taking the next step of having to replace it I would like to read your suggestions or possible solutions for the problems I'm experiencing with my iPhone:
I have an iPhone 3GS that fell into a cup of coffee. It didn't submerge completely and I was able to open it and dry it very quickly. When I opened it only the dock connection was wet (nothing on the battery or the motherboard). Either way I made sure to check every connection and made sure no coffee drops were left on the inside of the device.
Here are the issues I've encountered since then:
1. Afterwards I check the phone by plugin it into the wall charger. I turned on, screen looked OK and I was even prompted with the "Enter passcode" screen. I entered the password and immediately the screen went black and reset to the Apple logo. So long as I had the phone charging through the wall charger the Apple logo will constantly appear. No longer the password screen will show up and the phone seemed to be in a loop that started and ended with the blinking Apple logo. Once unplugged from the wall the iPhone will turn off and make no sound or show any signs of turning on again.
2. When connecting to the computer on the first attempt the iPhone will enter recovery mode (showing the connector and iTunes logo) and be recognized by both the computer and iTunes. iTunes will then prompt me to do a restore of the phone. I will follow the steps and "Restore and update" my iPhone. After "extracting the software" and "Verifying with Apple" to start the installation iTunes will prompt me with an error (I've repeated this step several times so there are several different errors I've encountered. Some of the errors include: 20, 21, 3194, 1600, 2001, 2003). After receiving the error iTunes will eject and no longer recognize the device. The iPhone (still connected to the computer) will no longer show the "Recovery Mode" logos and will start working in a loop (blinking Apple logo that appears to turn on and off as in a loop). The computer (device manager) will not recognize the iPhone either (no USB or ports showing the iPhone is still connected).
My iPhone is not unlocked or jailbroken. Before the incident with the coffee I managed to synchronize and update its firmware as indicated by iTunes. The latest update for my iPhone was 5.0.1. firmware. My intent is not to unlock or jailbrake the device, just to make it work again.
Here are some things I've tried since:
1. Exiting recovery mode via iReb, Tinyumbrella
2. Entering DFU mode via iReb, Sn0wbreeze,
3. Shift + Restore and using firmwares from 3.0 to 5.0 to downgrade or upgrade my iPhone.
4. Add new hosts to my Host file
5. Try sn0wbreeze and use IPSW to see if it is recognized by iTunes (iTunes recognizes the iPhone but then at the very last minute shows error 20, 21, 3194 or 1600.
6. Save SHSH files and use Tinyumbrella to uploaded them to my iPhone.
I would really appreciate if someone can help me on this. I might be doing something wrong or maybe not even considering the right steps to solve this issue. I don't know if there are missing drivers that are preventing the device from communicating with iTunes properly. Of some tool that can be used to correct this problem. It may or may not be fixable but I think it is worth the try.

Help with iphone 3gs backlight

My Iphone 3gs backlight just stopped working. I can still see that everything is still working but the backlight is just dead. I tried resetting it and recharging it but the backlight still does not come back when I turn the phone back on or touch the screen. Any help would be appreciated.

If no change after restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup and especially after restoring with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem.

I need help with IPHOne 4s IOS 7.0.4 battery life not improving

Alright, I Ned help with my iPhone 4S battler life, it is horrible, it will drain in about 12 hours. All I do is check my email, text a few people, and check a few apps. When I may school, it is a hundred percent, then I check it during school etc, when I go to bed it is about 20-30% battery life. Need help. Any suggestions? I tried a hard resets and restoring to a new iPhone etc, nothing worked.

I"m not at all sure what is the problem when you are describing your battery as holding its charge for 12 hours???
How long do you want your device to hold its battery charge???
Please see this article for tips on conserving battery charge. But PLEASE if you are looking for a device to hold its charge for LONGER than 12 hours I would suggest an android.

Need Help with Iphone 5

Hi
I recently bought the new I phone 5 unlocked and logged in with my friends apple Id to start the phone.Somehow when I was activating the phone,I chose one of my friend's number and now the iphone is having a verizon connection and also shows a number under contacts as "my number ********** ".
I have tried everything to remove the number but it won't go away.I think the number was associated to my friends apple Id and now this Verizon number has got a hold on my brand new phone.There is no sim in the phone right now.
I have reset the phone to factory settings a couple of times but the connection is still there.I would try to get a new sim and see if that can help but I was also concerned if my activity on facetime/i message is visible to my friend or anyone who can log in with my friend's apple ID.
Please help,Using the iphone for the first time and confused!!!

Need help with iphone battery charging please

hey all,
i have a problem with charging iphone battery,
i´ve had the phone for 8months now with no problems at all,
yesterday i used it as a modem for connecting to the internet and it worked just fine but the battery died so quick and now it wont charge at all
i used both charge connector and USB drive in the computer - nothing works, i already tried resseting it several times - didnt work either, i also tried plugging in a different cable - thta didnt help either so its basically turned into a brick, i noticed tho when i try to restart it there´s a couple wierd lines on my display but then it doesnt turn on or anything, it goes back to a black screen with battery picture and one red line indicating i need to charge it...
i tried to charge it overnight but the red line on the battery pic doesnt move or anything, there´s no sign of it charging at all and it doesnt even want to sync with the computer, i dont know what else to try
please help someone

If you are in a country where Apple provides direct support and has an Apple store, you can contact Apple or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
If you live an a country where Apple doesn't provide direct support - support for the iPhone is handled by the official carrier for the iPhone, contact your carrier.

Need Help with iPhone movies

I downloaded a movie through iTunes last night for use with the iPhone 3G and when Sync'd it does not allow it to play. Can anyone help? Do I need to download an App to convert or can I convert this directly through iTunes? I understand that the movie file has to be an MP4 which I believe already is when downloaded through iTunes directly? Please help.
Also, one more question.. Is there an App out there I could download to make use of a zoom in-out function for the built-in camera in the iPhone? How about recording videos?

Do you see the movie in your itunes libary? I believe of you highlight it and right click it will show a option to convert video for ipod (mp4). I have only tried this with my own videos and not anything from itunes.
If you set you sync options so you have manual control over file management, are you able to click and drag it on to the phone?

Need help with activating 3gs

I have just recieved a new 3gs and i do not know how to upgrade my iphone without it being set up yet. it is still in activation mode but i cannot finish this process because i apparently need to upgrade the phone for it to sync with my computer....? HELP

You need a sim card to activate the phone. If it doesn't have a sim card you cannot activate the phone.

Need help with new 3GS mail problems

I have a new 3GS v.4.1 about a week now, just getting around to setting up the mail. I synced through Itunes, checked the setting's. I can send email but not recieve. Can anyone help?

Any error message provided when the account is checked for new messages?
Under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, deselect Sync Mail Accounts followed by selecting Apply. Follow this by deleting and manually recreating the account on your iPhone. If this is successful, do not reselect Sync Mail Accounts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences or you will be right back where you started.

Author needs help with iPhone (or any smartphone)

Hello. I am nearing the end of a YA (young adult/teen) thriller. I want one of my characters to be able to copy the information from a smartphone, (type not specified), onto a computer (type not specified). The information would include text messages and, ideally and importantly, emails. The character is an IT expert (I am not!). I don't need to write the details of how he would do this - I just need to know whether or not it's possible. Any help would be gratefully recieved. I have Macs, but not an iPhone (or any sort of smartphone). Many thanks.

Need help with iPhone 5 warranty

Well 2 weeks ago I brought a used iPhone 5 and I thought it was great for the first day and after that I only just realised how awful the battery is and when I say awful I truly mean AWFUL! You can literally watch it go down.. I have done everything in the setting so don't say change all of that stuff because its the battery! The charging is rapid but I think that iPhone 5's are fast in general. From nothing to full it probably takes 50-60 minutes. But it drains so quick it's rather scary.. But whàt I don't get either is that sometimes it's on 12 or 21% and it dies and says it needs charging then about 20 minutes later you can turn it on and it will be on same battery life? The phone was brought for a Christmas present in December he said ad should still have warranty but will they accept that? Another big thing is today I dropped it from 3 foot onto rather soft carpet and the screen smashed! I was gob smacked I couldn't believe my luck! I just hope they don't think I'm trying to get that raplaced for the screen..
Will they accept it and do they accept used phones (if they have a way of finding out)?

Well the warranty is transferable from one owner to another, so that won't be a problem. Just call apple do give them the serial number and ask if the phone is still under warranty. If it is you can take it into an apple store and thy will run diagnostics on it. They will see that the battery is faulty so they may replac th battery, however since you brok th scene they probably won't give you a new one unless you get really lucky and find a really nice employee. When I first got my iPhone 4 my friends threw m into the pool. Needless to say my phone was ruined. I took it to apple and the employee plugged it in and confined that nothing could be done. I was already prepared to pay $600 for a new one. When she came back she handed me a new one and told me do be more careful time and she didn't charge me a penny.

Need help with iPhone 5 photo albums

Hi everyone, new here and just got my iPhone 5 yesterday. I have been using apple products for quite some time now so nothing is really all that new too me and I understand a majority of its difficulties although I have reached a road block. Heres the problem:
I have been using my iPod Touch to take photos for a while now and I just recently got the iPhone 5. So I hooked up my iPhone 5 and synced everything and it all went pretty smooth and the only thing wrong is that I have two albums under pictures on my iPhone that contain the exact same photos. They are all pictures that were taken on my iPod Touch that were transferred onto my PC and then I used the folder that contained those images to sync with my iPhone. Now when I sync the folder to my iPhone, there is a "Photo Library" album with 206 pictures then the "iPod" album (the name of the folder on my computer) which also contains the same 206. Any way I can get rid of one of them? I have tried and only succeeded in getting rid of both of the albums nad not just one. Thanks for any and all help! I've got a bog-standard 3Gs 16GB for nearly a year now. I've enjoyed using it every single day. Until yesterday, that is. Until update 4.3.1 came along. What happened, you might ask. Well, my battery drains in 7 hours flat. And I mean, completely. Without using the phone, that is! If putting the phone in airplane mode and not touching it, it lasts the same 7 hours: before hitting the sack last night, it was charged to the brim. This morning it was on a mere 12%. Having used firmware version 4.3 since it came out without any problems, this is insane, nuts. My iPhone has been rendered "completely" useless (using it just for phone calls, gives a battery life a barely 4 hours!).
I know there's no official way to revert to a previous firmware version. So here's my appeal: Help me please, please, please.
