Need Help with Iphone 5

Hi
I recently bought the new I phone 5 unlocked and logged in with my friends apple Id to start the phone.Somehow when I was activating the phone,I chose one of my friend's number and now the iphone is having a verizon connection and also shows a number under contacts as "my number ********** ".
I have tried everything to remove the number but it won't go away.I think the number was associated to my friends apple Id and now this Verizon number has got a hold on my brand new phone.There is no sim in the phone right now.
I have reset the phone to factory settings a couple of times but the connection is still there.I would try to get a new sim and see if that can help but I was also concerned if my activity on facetime/i message is visible to my friend or anyone who can log in with my friend's apple ID.
Please help,Using the iphone for the first time and confused!!!

Alright, I Ned help with my iPhone 4S battler life, it is horrible, it will drain in about 12 hours. All I do is check my email, text a few people, and check a few apps. When I may school, it is a hundred percent, then I check it during school etc, when I go to bed it is about 20-30% battery life. Need help. Any suggestions? I tried a hard resets and restoring to a new iPhone etc, nothing worked.

I"m not at all sure what is the problem when you are describing your battery as holding its charge for 12 hours???
How long do you want your device to hold its battery charge???
Please see this article for tips on conserving battery charge. But PLEASE if you are looking for a device to hold its charge for LONGER than 12 hours I would suggest an android.

Need help with iphone battery charging please

hey all,
i have a problem with charging iphone battery,
i´ve had the phone for 8months now with no problems at all,
yesterday i used it as a modem for connecting to the internet and it worked just fine but the battery died so quick and now it wont charge at all
i used both charge connector and USB drive in the computer - nothing works, i already tried resseting it several times - didnt work either, i also tried plugging in a different cable - thta didnt help either so its basically turned into a brick, i noticed tho when i try to restart it there´s a couple wierd lines on my display but then it doesnt turn on or anything, it goes back to a black screen with battery picture and one red line indicating i need to charge it...
i tried to charge it overnight but the red line on the battery pic doesnt move or anything, there´s no sign of it charging at all and it doesnt even want to sync with the computer, i dont know what else to try
please help someone

The iPhone includes a one year warranty.
If you are in a country where Apple provides direct support and has an Apple store, you can contact Apple or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
If you live an a country where Apple doesn't provide direct support - support for the iPhone is handled by the official carrier for the iPhone, contact your carrier.

Need Help with iPhone movies

I downloaded a movie through iTunes last night for use with the iPhone 3G and when Sync'd it does not allow it to play. Can anyone help? Do I need to download an App to convert or can I convert this directly through iTunes? I understand that the movie file has to be an MP4 which I believe already is when downloaded through iTunes directly? Please help.
Also, one more question.. Is there an App out there I could download to make use of a zoom in-out function for the built-in camera in the iPhone? How about recording videos?

Do you see the movie in your itunes libary? I believe of you highlight it and right click it will show a option to convert video for ipod (mp4). I have only tried this with my own videos and not anything from itunes.
If you set you sync options so you have manual control over file management, are you able to click and drag it on to the phone?

Author needs help with iPhone (or any smartphone)

Hello. I am nearing the end of a YA (young adult/teen) thriller. I want one of my characters to be able to copy the information from a smartphone, (type not specified), onto a computer (type not specified). The information would include text messages and, ideally and importantly, emails. The character is an IT expert (I am not!). I don't need to write the details of how he would do this - I just need to know whether or not it's possible. Any help would be gratefully recieved. I have Macs, but not an iPhone (or any sort of smartphone). Many thanks.

Need help with iPhone 5 warranty

Well 2 weeks ago I brought a used iPhone 5 and I thought it was great for the first day and after that I only just realised how awful the battery is and when I say awful I truly mean AWFUL! You can literally watch it go down.. I have done everything in the setting so don't say change all of that stuff because its the battery! The charging is rapid but I think that iPhone 5's are fast in general. From nothing to full it probably takes 50-60 minutes. But it drains so quick it's rather scary.. But whàt I don't get either is that sometimes it's on 12 or 21% and it dies and says it needs charging then about 20 minutes later you can turn it on and it will be on same battery life? The phone was brought for a Christmas present in December he said ad should still have warranty but will they accept that? Another big thing is today I dropped it from 3 foot onto rather soft carpet and the screen smashed! I was gob smacked I couldn't believe my luck! I just hope they don't think I'm trying to get that raplaced for the screen..
Will they accept it and do they accept used phones (if they have a way of finding out)?

Well the warranty is transferable from one owner to another, so that won't be a problem. Just call apple do give them the serial number and ask if the phone is still under warranty. If it is you can take it into an apple store and thy will run diagnostics on it. They will see that the battery is faulty so they may replac th battery, however since you brok th scene they probably won't give you a new one unless you get really lucky and find a really nice employee. When I first got my iPhone 4 my friends threw m into the pool. Needless to say my phone was ruined. I took it to apple and the employee plugged it in and confined that nothing could be done. I was already prepared to pay $600 for a new one. When she came back she handed me a new one and told me do be more careful time and she didn't charge me a penny.

Need help with iPhone 5 photo albums

Hi everyone, new here and just got my iPhone 5 yesterday. I have been using apple products for quite some time now so nothing is really all that new too me and I understand a majority of its difficulties although I have reached a road block. Heres the problem:
I have been using my iPod Touch to take photos for a while now and I just recently got the iPhone 5. So I hooked up my iPhone 5 and synced everything and it all went pretty smooth and the only thing wrong is that I have two albums under pictures on my iPhone that contain the exact same photos. They are all pictures that were taken on my iPod Touch that were transferred onto my PC and then I used the folder that contained those images to sync with my iPhone. Now when I sync the folder to my iPhone, there is a "Photo Library" album with 206 pictures then the "iPod" album (the name of the folder on my computer) which also contains the same 206. Any way I can get rid of one of them? I have tried and only succeeded in getting rid of both of the albums nad not just one. Thanks for any and all help! Need help with iphone 3gs

once i fully charge & then unplug my iphone after about 10 minutes of use it just turns off! so i plug it back in & once it turns back on it still shows that the battery has charge to it. so i'm wondering if anyone has had similar problems & can maybe give me some advice? i'm 23 & behind the times apparently! i'm not too experienced with these things as my best friend just gave this one to me as a gift. i'm hoping it just needs a new battery. any ideas or siggestions? thanks for your time!!

Need help with iphone 4.3.3. update

Hey,
I've been trying to update my iphone 4 with the 4.3.3 update and it repeatedly fails. The fail says that the Network Connection Timed Out, or something like that.
I've disabled my firewall and Sophos antivirus software. I'm using a Dell PC and, as far as I know, my iTunes is the latest version.
I have NO IDEA what to do.
Any and all suggestions welcome.

Well for the last couple of times I've tried to update my iphone 4 after the update all done it makes me restore the iphone which is very annoying as I lose all my texts contacts EVERYTHING BASICLY and it takes ages to get it all back again - I want to know why it keeps doing this?? Ever since 4.3.3 update came out its played up ever since and now I've just updated for 4.3.4 update and its done it again!!!! Whats going on?? after the updates done it says itunes cant read the iphone so it means I have to restore it to factory settings -- NOT HAPPY AT ALL

Need help with iphone, dropped it and screen is "white"

I dropped the iPhone last night, not too hard even, but when I picked it up there was a "line" on the side of the screen and the rest was blank/white.
I can't turn it off. Is there a way to reset/turn off without seeing the screen?

That message usually means that your phone was once connected to a different phone carrier than the one you're currently on.
Then when you restore or updated the phone it locked back to the original phone carrier - this is caused when the phone was hacked to unlock it from the original phone carrier.
Very rarely is the activation server unavailable.

Need help with IPhone 4S and upgrade for IOS 7

I upgraded my phone last night to IOS 7.0.2 and this morning I went through all the initial set up questions and my phone was working. Once I walked away and it turned off, it is asking me for a passcode to get back into my phone. I did NOT have a passcode before I upgraded do not know what passcode it would be asking me to enter. I have tried a couple different passcodes and nothing is working now my phones says it is "DISABLED". Can anyone help?

The upgrade to iOS 7.0 automatically turns on Passcode Lock....whether you want it or not. You probably don't remember the passcode you entered when prompted, but regardless, one was setup on the phone. To fix, & remove the passcode, follow the directions here to force the phone into recovery mode & restore it:

Need help with iPhone VPN non-ASA

I am a network hobbiest. I am trying to set up my home router so my family can VPN to the house with our iphnones and ipads. I have tried to figure this out several times on my own and and for some reason I can not get the policies to match.
At this point I am looking to start from scratch as my current config is pretty sloppy from trying many different methods.
Here is my setup
[cable modem] <==> [c1841] <==> [8 port switch]
Cisco IOS Software, 1841 Software (C1841-ADVSECURITYK9-M), Version 15.1(4)M, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
So I am using NAT, and I do want to have 3-4 external devices able to conect to the VPN and without a static IP on the roaming end. The 1841 does have a static IP.
I am looking for the method that will work best in this setup.

Ok, I have set my mac up to connect to the VPN using straight cisco ipsec in my system prefs.
